The time has finally come for you to experience Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour as tickets will soon go on sale for UK fans. But first there are some important things you should know ahead of time to make sure the process is as smooth as possible, and to give you the best chance of getting your hands on those all-important tickets.

Firstly, you must register to get access to all ticket sales for Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour

Ticket Sale Registration is being used to filter out buyers looking to resell tickets and prioritise genuine fans like you, ensuring that tickets go directly into the hands of those who truly want to attend the show.

It’s also important to note that Ticket Sale Registration does not guarantee access to the sale, or to tickets. We expect there will be more demand than there are tickets available, meaning only a limited number of fans will gain access to the sale. The system will then work on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are not initially selected, don’t worry! Fans not selected at first will be placed on a waitlist and may receive an invitation to join the sale if further tickets become available.

On 5 July, you will be contacted by the promoter, AEG Presents, confirming next steps.

LABEL PRE-SALE

The label pre-sale is ONLY open to fans who participated in the UK store Midnights pre-order offer between Monday 29 August 2022 and Thursday 27 October 2022. If you participated in the UK store Midnights pre-order offer you will be officially communicated with via the email supplied at checkout originally.

Will Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour setlist be the same in the UK?

Will Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour setlist be the same in the UK?

Historically, Taylor rarely edits her setlists much from country to country. Taylor currently performs two surprise songs on The Eras Tour each night, while the setlist remains the same. However, given that The Eras Tour is already Taylor's biggest tour to date, and will likely have significant gaps between legs, anything is possible.

As it stands, Taylor Swift and Speak Now are almost entirely absent from The Eras Tour setlist but it doesn't have to stay that way. Taylor is set to release Speak Now (Taylor's Version ) on July 7th and it's possible that Taylor will add more Speak Now songs to the setlist once her version is released.

The setlist could possibly have some changes by the time it reaches the UK.

What do you think? Will you be getting tickets to see Taylor in the UK?

She's also set to re-release 'Speak Now' in July, meaning she'll likely update her set list afterwards so she can perform the songs she finally legally owns live.

The current show is around three hours long as Tay fully delves back into all her eras for the iconic concert, from 'Fearless' to 'Midnights' which she dropped at the end of last year.

The UK and Ireland will see a heavy dose of Taylor Swift during the European leg of her ongoing Eras tour.

The 12-time Grammy winner announced 50 new international destinations on the tour, which kicked off 17 March in Glendale, Arizona, on Instagram on Tuesday (20 June).

“EXCUSE ME HI I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY,” Swift, 33, wrote in the caption.

“I can’t wait to see so many of you on The Eras Tour next year at these new international dates! Visit TaylorSwift.com/tour for more information on your registrations, pre-sales and on-sales!!”

The “Anti-Hero” singer will kick off her UK stint on 7 June 2024 in Edinburgh for two nights at the BT Murrayfield Stadium.

  • Oppenheimer historian still ‘emotionally recovering’ from Christopher Nolan’s film
  • Mission: Impossible 7: Critics fawn over ‘impeccably made’ Tom Cruise film following Rome premiere

She’ll then move on to Anfield Stadium in Liverpool for two nights beginning 14 June. Cardiff will receive one night of Swift mania at the Principality Stadium on 18 June.

She’ll next hit London ’s Wembley Stadium for two nights starting 21 June. Finally, she arrives in Dublin for two nights at the Aviva Stadium starting 28 June.

However, fans in London will have one more chance to see the pop megastar than the rest as Swift will return to the English capital for two more nights at Wembley on 16 and 17 August to close out the tour.

European fans will be hoping for a smoother ticketing process than their US counterparts.

Tickets were set to go on sale to the general public on 18 November last year; however, a verified presale on 15 November crashed the Ticketmaster website due to “historically unprecedented demand”.

Ticketmaster’s parent company Live Nation said that they should have done a “better job” by staggering sales over a longer time period, during a congressional hearing addressing its handling of the singer’s ticket sales.

“We apologise to the fans. We apologise to Ms Swift. We need to do better, and we will do better,” said Live Nation president Joe Berchtold.

It’s been five years since Swift’s last tour after her planned Lover Fest tour in 2020 was cancelled due to the pandemic. During that time, she’s made four additions to her “family” of albums: 2019’s Lover , 2020’s Folklore and Evermore, and 2022’s Midnights .

At the same time, she’s been re-recording her first six albums as part of her plan to reclaim the master recordings, following a public battle with her former record label.

In her five-star review from Arizona, The Independent ’s critic Kelsey Barnes wrote : “Throughout the opening night of the tour, it frequently feels as though the audience is being caught up with Swift’s past, present and future.

“In the 44-song setlist that spans three hours and 15 minutes, she shows why the “era” concept is so integral to who she is. Each chapter marks a specific shift in her artistry.”

When can you buy resale tickets for Taylor Swift’s London Eras Tour dates?

era tour taylor swift uk

There is another chance to get tickets for the UK leg of Taylor Swift’s Eras tour with a resale being held on Tuesday.

Hundreds of thousands of seats at some of the country’s largest stadiums sold out in minutes when they went on sale on July 17 - including her six dates at Wembley Stadium.

Fans were subjected to a booking process that required a pre-registration code and also required a loophole that meant the buyer had to attend - which caught out some who had asked a relative to book for them.

However, unlucky fans will get another chance on Tuesday. Ticketmaster and AXS will be holding a resale from 4pm and all one needs to do is register with the sites in advance and then be prepared to wait in a lengthy queue.

Tickets are being sold by buyers who wish to sell their tickets. Potential sellers have been emailed by Ticketmaster and AXS with instructions and the ticket websites have confirmed that tickets are only able to be resold via official partners.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Eras tour and when you can buy resale tickets.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour expected setlist for the UK, including surprise song theories

Taylor Swift

Brave Swifties who won the great war, we have less than a year to prepare for the international leg of Taylor Swift ’s Eras Tour.

And for those of us who didn’t manage to grab tickets, don’t fear as the Eras Tour concert movie will be coming to UK cinemas in just a few weeks time!

There’s no way of knowing if Taylor will switch up her entire set list for the international dates, especially if she releases more vault tracks, but each album will still get a section – and will she be supported on tour by rumoured new beau Travis Kelce?

The 33-year-old has 10 studio albums, with three re-recorded Taylor’s Versions, each with a distinctive visual and sonic aesthetic known as an era.

Her Eras Tour takes fans on a three hour journey through her albums, starting with Lover and ending on most recent new release, Midnights.

With over 200 songs to pick from, the 10 time Grammy winner could really shake up her whole show for international fans.

Since starting the Eras Tour, Speak Now Taylor’s Version has stormed the charts but the album remains sparse at the shows, despite the popularity boost and vault tracks.

Debut also barely features in her set list, appearing solely in surprise songs for now – although if she re-releases her self titled album we might see Tim McGraw become permanent.

1989 and Reputation get more time during the show but these albums are also yet to be re-released by the singer, so vault tracks and new favourites could appear.

So far no vault track appears on her main set list, only core album songs have a permanent place on the Eras Tour.

The Glendale, Arizona, set appears to be the baseline with some changes such as the post Speak Now concerts gaining Long Live, a song dedicated to her fans.

Surprise songs

Each night Taylor Swift plays two surprise songs from her vast discography, these have included This Love and Clean from 1989 and Dear John and Last Kiss from Speak Now.

Taylor has not repeated a song yet but will run out of released songs after her June 2, 2024, show at Lyon, France.

After this point its not known what Taylor will decide to do, she could simply pick her favourites or sing the ones that she messed up the first time round.

All the UK dates will take place after this Lyon gig so fans need not despair if she’s already played a favourite at another concert – she could play it again.

We’re hoping for Foolish One, Wonderland, I Can See You, or Hits Different but that tells you far too much about us.

Everything you need to know about Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour Concert Film

Pop icon Taylor Swift kicked off her Eras Tour in March 2023, with the tour scheduled to run until December 2024. With legions of fans across the world, the tour has been a huge success earning critical acclaim, selling out stadiums and breaking records.

In August and to the delight of Swifties, Taylor Swift announced that Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour – a concert film, filmed across three shows at the SoFi Stadium in California – was on its way. The film gives fans who haven’t had the chance to attend a tour date or those who have but simply want to relive the experience, the chance to watch a cinematic recording of The Eras Tour.

The official synopsis of the film tells you all you need to know:

“The cultural phenomenon continues on the big screen! Immerse yourself in this once-in-a-lifetime concert film experience with a breathtaking, cinematic view of the history-making tour. Taylor Swift Eras tour attire and friendship bracelets are strongly encouraged!”

Where can I watch Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film?

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film first landed in UK cinemas on Friday 13 October, with the film breaking the record for the most profitable concert film in history.

And now, just two months after its theatrical release, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film will be available to watch from the comfort of your home on Sky Store. But you better hurry, as it will only be available on Sky Store for 60 days from 13 December.

Is Taylor Swift: Eras Tour concert film coming to Netflix?

What is the uk release date for taylor swift: the eras tour concert film, is the eras tour coming to the uk.

In short: yes. Taylor Swift still has a year left of The Eras Tour with the pop superstar set to perform in Edinburgh on 7 June 2024. The UK leg of the tour will see Swift perform in stadiums across the country, including Edinburgh, Liverpool, Cardiff and London.

Despite adding additional London dates, it looks like the UK tour dates are sold out so tickets will be pretty hard to come by. So, for those of you who missed out on getting tickets, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film is the perfect way to get your Eras Tour fix.

What are Taylor Swift’s eras?

Taylor has been releasing music since 2006 and has a staggering ten studio albums to her name, as well as four re-recorded albums. Each studio album differs from the others, showcasing how the superstar has evolved her music and sound over time. Taylor’s eras are as follows:

  • Taylor Swift (2006)
  • Fearless (2008)
  • Speak Now (2010)
  • 1989 (2014)
  • Reputation (2017)
  • Lover (2019)
  • Folklore (2020)
  • Evermore (2020)
  • Midnights (2022)

How much money has the tour made?

What records has the tour broken.

Taylor Swift is fast becoming a prolific record breaker. And her sell-out Eras Tour is adding to the ever-growing list, with a number of records having been broken and set.

From setting the record for the most tickets (over 2 million) ever sold for an artist in a single day on Ticketmaster to the opening night in Arizona breaking the record for the most attended female concert in US history, its safe to say that by the time the tour ends it’s likely that many more records will have been broken.

European cities hope jet-setting Taylor Swift fans will splash the cash for Eras tour

The superstar arrives in Europe next month – and Swifties, tourist boards and venues are already preparing

T im Brown, 44, and his wife, Marcella, 34, may not consider themselves bona fide “Swifties”, but when it was announced last June that Taylor Swift would be visiting their corner of the globe this summer they could not resist joining the scramble for a pair of tickets.

A post-pandemic appetite for live music events has fuelled huge worldwide interest in the American singer-songwriter’s Eras tour, which surpassed in $1bn sales in November to become the highest-grossing series of concerts in history.

The pop culture event of the summer will arrive in Europe next month, kicking off in Paris on 9 May and wrapping up in London on 20 August with 49 dates in between in Sweden, Ireland, Portugal, Germany, Poland, Austria, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and Switzerland.

The unique nature of the tour’s ticketing system, which was tweaked after a number of hitches last year, means there will be a mass movement of travelling fans who will not only be Swiftie in affiliation but swift-like in their willingness to travel across the continent.

In expectation of intense demand, Ticketmaster introduced a pre-registration system that rewarded some early applicants with access codes to the ticket sale proper, via staggered windows for each city.

Notionally designed to prioritise genuine fans over “scalpers” – people who buy and resell tickets for a quick profit – the pre-sales system also meant many fans registered for tickets in multiple destinations across Europe to increase their chances.

Taylor Swift performs on stage amid a sea of confetti

Tim and Marcella, who live in Norwich, registered not just for the nearest concerts – in London and Liverpool – but also in Amsterdam and Lisbon. The pair got lucky with a pair of €91 tickets in the Portuguese capital and have turned the trip into a weekend break. “I used to live in Lisbon so I thought why not kill two birds with one stone,” Tim said. “We booked ourselves flights and four nights’ accommodation the same day.” They are far from alone.

Katie Soo, the chief business officer of DICE, a rival ticketing company, said: “The excitement and uncertainty inherent in the ticket-purchasing process might have inadvertently incentivised fans to apply for tickets in multiple cities, thereby increasing the likelihood of travelling across Europe to attend the concerts.”

Hotel prices

Several European cities have already reported a sharp rise in demand for hotel and short-term rental accommodation over the summer, when the Swift hurricane will arrive. In Edinburgh, Liverpool and Cardiff, rooms at the Travelodge chain around Swift’s June dates have been sold out since August 2023, a month after tickets for the shows went on sale.

In Paris, where fans anticipate Swift to debut an updated version of the Eras show with songs from the new Tortured Poets Department album, 80% of hotels and apartments listed on Booking.com are already full up. In Warsaw on 2 August, only 9% of hotels listed on the same site are still available.

Not all of the 18 cities covered by the Eras tour are obvious tourism destinations. From 17-19 July, Swift will play three concerts at the 65,000-capacity home ground of the football club Schalke 04 in Gelsenkirchen in Ruhr valley, western Germany. The city’s less-than-familiar name prompted one US chatshow host to quip that “the place might not even exist”.

Yet even in Germany’s rust belt the influx of Swift fans is temporarily transforming the hotel market: any two-bedroom apartments that remain available are going for €800-2,000 a night, with cheaper accommodation available only in surrounding cities that are just as off the usual tourist track as Gelsenkirchen, such as Essen, Bochum or Herne.

Cities with stricter rules on allowing Airbnb-style holiday lets and a more limited stock of short-term rental apartments are reporting a particularly marked increase in rates during Swift’s visit, with about 30% year-on-year spikes in rental rates in Cardiff, Edinburgh and Milan, according to AirDNA, a data analytics company specialising in the short-term rentals market.

Of all the tour’s European stops, Vienna is experiencing the most notable impact on its rental market, with booking rates for the nights of Swift’s concerts recorded in February 44% higher than at the same point the previous year. By the end of March the number of nights booked in the Austrian capital for the length of Swift’s stay in the second week of August had risen by 430% compared with the same period in 2023.

When Luke Tilden’s wife, Tatjana, suggested last summer that the couple buy their 13- and 15-year-old daughters, Lena and Maya, tickets to a Taylor Swift gig for Christmas, the 53-year-old Briton initially waved it off. “There’s no chance in hell we’d get a ticket without paying through our noses, I thought,” said Tilden, who works as an interpreter at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.

But after pre-registering for tickets in London, Paris and Munich, the Tildens got unexpectedly lucky for four tickets in southern Germany and have turned the concert visit into a mini-holiday: “We’ll visit the in-laws in Bavaria, enjoy the countryside, do a bit of hiking.”

The hope in cities across Europe is that this will be replicated on a massive scale, with fans’ excitement translating into generous spending sprees on food, shopping and leisure. In Stockholm, for example, where authorities are expecting 159,000 visitors to arrive from 135 countries in mid-May, the chamber of commerce has forecast a spending boost of €50m. “We hope the whole town will buzz from the Eras tour,” said Tomas Andersson, a spokesperson for the Swedish capital’s tourism board.

after newsletter promotion

Whether fans will necessarily act like ordinary tourists, however, is up for debate. “Pop-culture tourists do not necessarily care about traditional buildings and authentic restaurants,” said Maria Lexhagen, a professor at the European Tourism Research Institute, Mid Sweden University.

“Joining up with other fan communities is stronger motivation, as is the idea that they might get closer to the stars themselves. Many of them will map out where Swift is spending her time in the city – they will seek out seemingly marginal but meaningful places like back alleys or coffee shops.” Venues may be hoping for a repeat of Sydney in February, when Swift swept into an unassuming Italian restaurant in the suburbs and sent its name into global media headlines.

A view of the exterior of Pellegrino 2000 in Sydney

In Stockholm the tourism board said it was expecting bookshops and secondhand clothes stores, rather than museums and royal palaces, to attract most of the arriving visitors. Some venues are being proactive: one restaurant within walking distance of the multipurpose Friends Arena in the Solna municipality is putting on a “Taylor Swift brunch experience” with a karaoke stage; the waterfront nightclub Debaser is hosting a pre-concert party on 16 May, an all-ages all-day party with a Swift-themed quiz on 19 May and an afterparty the day after.

Environment

As the Swift circus rolls across the continent, the transport infrastructure of urban centres will also be put to the test. Around the tour’s three-night stop in Dublin at the end of June, Irish Rail has announced additional late-night services to Cork and Limerick to meet an expected increase in demand. Extra tram and bus services are likely to be announced nearer the time.

Unlike rail operators, most airlines do not have capacity to charter additional flights. Due to yield management – airlines adjusting prices based on expected demand – a scramble for airborne journeys into cities that host the Eras tour is more likely to result in more expensive tickets rather than additional flights.

Officials at Lisbon airport said no additional flights had been chartered around Swift’s concerts on 24 and 25 May but that demand would probably be reflected in slightly higher load factors. A spokesperson for Amsterdam Schiphol said general aviation slots could be requested at short notice but nothing out of the ordinary had been logged so far.

Calculating the environmental impact of the tour with any certainty was difficult, experts said. “We can expect that some Swift fans will travel a long way to see one, if not several, shows across Europe”, said Stefan Gössling, a professor of tourism at Linnaeus University in Kalmar, Sweden. “But measuring the environmental impact of these trips is extremely difficult – it would involve a lot of guesswork.”

Swift fans queue to buy a merchandise

This did not mean the carbon footprint was negligible. “Every flight taken by a person adds to demand and hence influences supply considerations,” Gössling said. “The greater the demand, the more aircrafts are in service.”

The pop star’s carbon footprint is easier to estimate. Swift owns two jets by the French manufacturer Dassault, whose journeys are trackable. During the 2023 leg of the Eras tour, Swift’s planes spent 166 hours crisscrossing the US in about 75 individual journeys, though it is possible they were used by people other than the singer.

According to data available through the open-access aviation tracker ADS-B exchange, Swift’s jets caused carbon emissions of about 2,830 tonnes of CO 2 equivalent over the course of the US Eras tour – about 1,700 times the annual contribution of an average person.

A spokesperson for Swift told US media last year that in advance of the tour’s start in March 2023, the pop star bought more than double the carbon credits needed to offset all tour travel. Carbon offset credits are tradable certificates that allow purchasers to compensate for emissions by investing in environmental projects that claim to reduce carbon emissions, though recent studies have questioned the efficacy of these schemes.

Want to see ‘Eras Tour' in London? This company is giving away tickets as part of a Taylor Swift-inspired job

Swifties, your dream job has arrived., by odeya pinkus | today • published april 25, 2024 • updated on april 25, 2024 at 5:39 pm.

Taylor Swift's eleventh album,  "The Tortured Poets Department,"  dropped on April 19, and the excitement around the pop star is at an all-time high. With her record-breaking "Eras Tour"  heading to Europe  next month, a fan can only wonder: Will her new album be incorporated into her upcoming tour shows — and if so, how?

Well, a pair of Swiftie best friends will find out, thanks to a new Taylor Swift-inspired job that comes with a free pair "Eras Tour" tickets.

Flytographer, a vacation photography company that connects travelers with local photographers around the world, is looking to hire two people to travel to London to test out a new photo tour and take pics for their Instagram. In addition to getting a $5,000 travel stipend to fly to London, the lucky duo will also get free tickets to see a Taylor Swift's "Eras Tour" show in August.

The job title is Chief Memory Maker, and it involves testing Flytographer's new Capture Your (London) Era photo tour, an experience that brings guests to locations within Taylor Swift lore to take pictures. For example, places like West End, SoHo and Louis V on Bond Street that are mentioned in Swift's song "London Boy" are included in the tour.

In addition to a travel stipend, the pair chosen for the job will get an additional $100 to go to a salon and $100 for shopping. And the icing on the cake: They will get premium tickets to the "Eras Tour" show at Wembley Stadium on Aug. 19.

Those interested in the job can  apply through the official Flytographer website  until May 9, when the application window closes. Applicants will need to submit their Instagram handle, as well as their friend's Instagram handle who they plan to bring with them. The application also asks a variety of questions, including, "Why you and your BFF should be our next Chief Memory Makers," "What era are you and your bestie in and why?" and "What Taylor lyric best represents you and your bestie?"

After the double album was released Friday, fans wondered if the singer would fit any of the 31 songs into the three-plus hour set. In the quick 15-second video, fans pointed out a couple of suspect shots, including Swift leaning against a railing that seems to have the "TTPD" logo and a quick scene where her backup dancers hold poles and wear top hats.

Swift has been on a two-month break from the Eras Tour and has spent much of her time in Los Angeles.

If there is a new Eras Tour set, the next question is where would she add the era? "Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince's" opening line is a perfect opening for an artist who has released seven albums and hasn't seen fans: "It's been a long time coming."

She could end the show with the "TTPD" set, but "Karma" is also a good show closer. Other than those two options, she could place "TTPD" after "Reputation" and before "Speak Now" or also right before "Midnights."

"A fortnight til Paris 🤍," Swift says in the caption. Her next tour stop is Paris, France on May 9. Swift will tour in Europe for 51 shows until she takes a break and heads back to the United States and Canada.

Taylor Swift's 'The Tortured Poets Department' album cover.

If the song title “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” doesn’t say it all, wait until you hear the lyrics.

“Were you sent by someone who wanted me dead?/Did you sleep with a gun underneath our bed?/Were you writing a book? Were you a sleeper cell spy?/In 50 years will all this be declassified?,” Taylor Swift sings on track 14 from The Tortured Poets Department . “I would’ve died for your sins/Instead I just died inside/And you deserve prison/But you won’t get time.”

London pub the black dog is at "max capacity" following taylor swift's 'tortured poets department' song, reba mcentire to host 2024 academy of country music awards.

“Sometimes I wonder if you’re gonna screw this up with me/But you told Lucy you’d kill yourself if I ever leave/And I had said that to Jack about you, so I felt seen,” she sings on the title track. “Everyone we know understands why it’s meant to be/’Cause we’re crazy.”

One of the best songs is “So Long, London.” Over a soft, electropop beat, Swift is recovering as she sings about “getting color back into my face” and being “pissed off you let me give you all that youth for free.” Near the end of the song, the singer, who is now dating NFL star Travis Kelce , proclaims: “So long, London/Had a good run/A moment of warm sun/But I’m not the one.”

“Florida!!!” is also a winning track, especially thanks to Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine’s eerie and badass verse. Post Malone is also a highlight, blending vocally with Swift on the downbeat track “Fortnight,” which opens the album.

Sonically, Poets Department feels like it pays homage to Swift’s past work: “But Daddy I Love Him” could easily fit on Speak Now or Fearless ; “Fortnight” and other tracks are reminiscent of Midnights , Swift’s last album; while other songs could live in her Folkore/Evermore era.

The production throughout the album is light, and some more experimental sounds would have made it better. But maybe that was done on purpose, so that the strong lyrics could do all of the talking.

I Genuinely Can't Listen To Taylor Swift's "The Tortured Poets Department" The Same Way Again After Reading These 15 Facts

With 31 songs on The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology , it's Taylor Swift's longest album to date.

Nora Dominick

BuzzFeed Staff

1. First, Taylor Swift told fans at an Eras Tour concert in Tokyo that she'd been working on The Tortured Poets Department "for about two years." She added, "I kept working on it throughout the US tour, and when it was perfect, in my opinion — when it was good enough for you — I finished it."

Taylor announced her 11th studio album after winning Best Pop Vocal Album for Midnights   at the 2024 Grammy Awards . Telling the crowd at the same Tokyo concert, she said she "had this plan" to announce the album if she was "lucky" enough to get on stage and accept an award, but only shared it with a few people, including Jack Antonoff . Her backup plan if she didn't win a Grammy Award that night was to announce the album at the Tokyo show.

2. When Taylor announced the title, The Tortured Poets Department , some debated the grammatical correctness of "Poets" instead of styling it "Poets'" or "Poet's." The title is styled like the 1989 movie Dead Poets Society , which starred Ethan Hawke and Josh Charles, who also appear in the music video for "Fortnight."

Fans also speculated that The Tortured Poets Department  was inspired by Joe Alwyn, Andrew Scott, and Paul Mescal's reported group chat name, "The Tortured Man Club."

3. The album cover for The Tortured Poets Department was shot by photographer Beth Garrabrant , who previously took photos for Folklore, Evermore, Red (Taylor's Version), Midnights , Speak Now (Taylor's Version) , and 1989 (Taylor's Version) .

For the TTPD  album cover, Taylor was styled by Joseph Cassell, and she reportedly wears YSL and The Row — Mary-Kate and Ashely Olsen's brand — on the cover. Lorrie Turk did Taylor's makeup, while Jemma Muradian did her hair.

4. With a total of 31 songs on The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology , it's Taylor's longest album . Previously, her longest album was Red (Taylor's Version) , which has 30 songs.

After releasing The Tortured Poets Department  at midnight ET on April 19, Taylor then dropped a surprise additional 15 songs that make up The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology .

5. The spoken voice heard in "I Can Do It with a Broken Heart" is producer Oli Jacobs, who produced several tracks on the album. Oli can be heard counting Taylor in, which is reminiscent of a click track that performers hear in their earpieces when performing live.

In an Instagram post about TTPD , Oli thanked Taylor, Jack, and Laura Sisk for working with him on the album, adding, "The greatest team anyone could ever ask to be a part of." Fans believe the click track-like sound on this one is in reference to Taylor's breakup with Joe Alwyn coinciding with her performing on the opening leg of the Eras Tour.

6. Taylor said that she wrote "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?" while "sitting at the piano in one of those moments when I felt bitter about just all the things we do to our artists as a society and as a culture." She wrote the song alone, too.

She added in the Amazon Music commentary for the track, "What do we do to our writers, and our artists, and our creatives? We put them through hell. We watch what they create, then we judge it. We love to watch artists in pain, often to the point where I think sometimes, as a society, we provoke that pain, and we just watch what happens."

7. For "Clara Bow," which is named after the famous silent film actor, Taylor explained that the track is "a commentary on what I've seen in the industry that I've been in over time." She added that the reason she name drops Clara Bow and Stevie Nicks in the song is a reference to her being told "you know, you remind us of" by various record labels when she was starting out.

Taylor continued, saying , "And that’s how we teach women to see themselves, as like you could be the new replacement for this woman who’s done something great before you. I picked women who have done great things in the past and have been these archetypes of greatness in the entertainment industry. Clara Bow was the first ‘it girl.’ Stevie Nicks is an icon and an incredible example for anyone who wants to write songs and make music."

8. Speaking about "Clara Bow," the actor's great-granddaughter said , "My family and I love the song and are thankful for Taylor connecting with Clara's legacy through her songwriting." Clara was an actor in the silent film era of the 1920s and was given the nickname "The It Girl." She's also considered the first Hollywood sex symbol.

Clara's other great-granddaughter also added , "It’s really remarkable for Clara to be back in the media attention, 100 years later. That’s a testament to her legacy. I hope this inspires the younger generation to learn about Clara's story and feel inspired by her perseverance."

9. In the Amazon Music commentary for "Florida!!!" (feat. Florence + the Machine), Taylor said that the inspiration for the track actually came from "always watching Dateline ." She added, "People have these crimes that they commit; where do they immediately skip town and go to? They go to Florida."

She continued, saying , "They try to reinvent themselves, have a new identity, blend in. I think when you go through a heartbreak, there’s a part of you that thinks, 'I want a new name. I want a new life. I don't want anyone to know where I've been or know me at all.'"

10. In the album's liner notes for "Florida!!!" (feat. Florence + the Machine), Emily Jean Stone, aka actor Emma Stone, is credited with "oddities" on the track. While it's unclear right now what "oddities" means, some fans have pointed out the similarities between Taylor's TTPD aesthetic and Emma's costumes in Poor Things .

This isn't the first time Emma has been linked to a song by Taylor. When Speak Now (Taylor's Version)  was released in 2023, the song "When Emma Falls in Love" was rumored to be about Emma. The duo have been friends since 2008.

11. Speaking about "Fortnight" featuring Post Malone, Taylor explained that this song "exhibits a lot of the common themes that run throughout the album. One of which being fatalism — longing, pining away, lost dreams."

Taylor Swift and Post Malone embracing in the music video for "Fortnight"

"I think that it's a very fatalistic album in that there are lots of very dramatic lines about life or death," Taylor added . "'I love you, it's ruining my life.' These are very hyperbolic, dramatic things to say. It's that kind of album."

12. Stevie Nicks, who is mentioned in "Clara Bow," penned a poem for Taylor on Aug. 13, 2023, which is featured as the prologue in physical copies of the album. In Oct. 2023, Stevie talked about Taylor in an interview, saying, "I never don't tell the truth. And I think that's something that if Taylor Swift, who is my friend, if Taylor got anything from me, that's what she got."

Taylor Swift and Stevie Nicks performing together

Stevie continued, saying, "I don't ever lie in my songs — and if you broke up with me, I don't put I broke up with you. I tell the truth, always." Stevie and Taylor first crossed paths in 2010 when they performed at the Grammy Awards together, which Taylor reportedly called a "fairy tale and an honor."

13. Following the release of "The Black Dog," fans began to flock to a London pub named The Black Dog because of the lyrics: "And so I watch as you walk / Into some bar called The Black Dog." One video posted to the pub's TikTok has over 600,000 views and counting. They even posted a video joking that they are trying to figure out if Taylor is referring to Joe Alwyn or Matty Healy in the song.

Amy Crowley, who is the pub's marketing consultant, said , "To now get that sort of international level of recognition is surreal, but it's lots of fun. It's been a bit of a whirlwind, but we're enjoying it." Swifties also asked the bar if they would sell merch, and they've listened .

14. In the song "The Tortured Poets Department," Taylor sings, "I laughed in your face and said / 'You're not Dylan Thomas, I'm not Patti Smith / This ain't the Chelsea Hotel, we're modern idiots.'" And Patti posted her appreciation for being included in the song on her Instagram, writing , "This is saying I was moved to be mentioned in the company of the great Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. Thank you Taylor."

The Hotel Chelsea, which is mentioned in the song alongside Patti and Dylan, references the renowned hotel in Manhattan where both Dylan and Patti lived. Patti notably wrote about her time at the hotel in her book Just Kids .

15. And finally, The Tortured Poets Department is the first album in Spotify history to have more than 300 million streams in a single day on April 19, 2024.

On the same day, "Fortnight" (feat. Post Malone) also became Spotify's most-streamed song in a single day.
