At Galveston Duck Tours we offer a unique way of seeing the city. We start at 25th street and Seawall Blvd. Next to the Pleasure Pier. Your Captain will present to you Galveston Islands facts and present attractions. The Duck proceeds to enter the water at Offats Bayou, witch is located at 61st and Heards Lane. The protected waters of the bayou are ideal for boating and observing wildlife that thrive on and around our barrier island. We then drive the Duck back on to the streets and return to the historic East end of the city. Along the way your Captain will point out various mansions and century old buildings. Before returning to the point of departure. Your tour guide and captain will have given you a general overview of the many attractions and history of Galveston. …

A Tourist Must Do. You catch the boat just off of Seawall Blvd close to Pleasure Pier. It takes you for a tour on the Seawall, into historic downtown, and into Offatt's Bayou. Along the way. You are told facts about the restaurants, tourist places, prior flood levels, and you get a view of 1900's beautiful mansions. It was a fun experience for our children. As this was their first time being on a boat that goes from land to water. There are life preservers tucked away gracefully above your heads on the boat. Should the need ever arise. It was a nice sunny day with a slight breeze. And the cost is minimal. We were entertained and educated on Galvestons history on this tour.

For 18 bucks you can get a grand tour of the island...land and sea, on the duck! Check out this tour if you are killing time in Galveston. You'll get a great history lesson and see a lot of beautiful beach property and great landmarks! I learned more about this island than ever and most of my family is from around here! It was pretty cool and the duck even takes you on the bayou for a quick cruise on the water. Great on a beautiful day! Take lots of photos and bring friends! I enjoyed myself here and would definitely go again.

Favorite activity we did this year. Charles was our tour guide and he really made the tour fun and interesting. I've been to Galveston numerous times, but I learned so much on this tour. And of course, how cool is it to go from land to water?! The kids loved that part!

Photo of Erica D.

We had a complete blast on the duck tour. Our guide Charles was so informative and knowledgeable! He lives on the island and has so pretty funny knee slapping jokes while at red lights. If your in Galveston it's worth the money.

Photo of Andrea B.

Really enjoyed the ride . The jokes are cheesy but honestly that's what makes it fun ! I don't recommend for little kids as it can get boring for them . Very informative in history of the town and gave us a great idea on what we want to do when while we are here

Photo of Annie H.

This tour stays busy! It takes you all around the city and shows you some of the pretty houses, some of the businesses and some of the tree carvings. Then you also get to go in the water as well. We enjoyed the tour when we went on it. The tour guide was funny and was always engaging with the crowd.

Photo of Fred M.

Very friendly staff, very entertaining, cool tour worth the money. Tour guide gives you good places to eat, and nice places to visit! Wish the tour went into the ocean? But I'm sure there are insurance reasons we don't , will recommend to other people whom go to Galveston and ask for best stuff to do!

Photo of Carolina S.

This tour was so fun! Our tour guide was so informative. He was so funny also! I'm so excited to return soon! The only problem was the ticket girl they had on 9/10/17 for the 11am tour. The one with long brown hair and a cap. She was rude. Not a friendly face...

Photo of John L.

This is a great value even if you are not a education junkie but if you are you will enjoy a crash course on Galveston history in a very fun and entertaining way. The tour goes down Sea Wall Blvd then into the water back out and past many businesses and historical places all the while filling you in on their significance. Not to be missed!

Photo of Crystal M.

We paid $70 for our family to ride and then they literally had us get off the boat because someone back at the office was also selling tickets and they were not communicating with each other.

Galveston Duck Tours

galveston duck tour

Get the best of both worlds with the Galveston Duck Tours. This amphibious vehicle can not only drive on land, but swim in the water!

Galveston Duck Tour Information

Typical tour times are daily at 11:00 AM, 12:30 PM, 2:00PM, and 4:00PM. However, the hours of operation are subject to change. The best way to find out the tour times for the day is by calling them on the phone and confirming the schedule. In addition, this exciting activity is weather-permitting.

Purchasing Tickets

In order to go on this tour, you must purchase tickets at the location where the duck loads passengers. This location is just to the left of the Pleasure Pier , across the street from Chick-fil-A. When driving down Seawall Drive, you will often see the vessel parked in its designated parking spot. The spot is marked with a sign that reads "Reserved for Duck Tours," so even if the vehicle is not there, you will be able to spot the location.

At the time of the tour, you will find an employee sitting in front of the vehicle. They will be collecting payment. We recommend arriving 15-20 minutes early in order to get the best seats and ensure you obtain a spot on the tour. The best place to sit is towards the back of the vessel. This is because you will get less wind in your face during the ride and you will be able to hear your guide more clearly.

What Will You Get on the Tour

This hour long excursion takes you up and down Seawall Boulevard. In addition, you will wind through popular and historic streets. Additionally, you will explore the Strand Historic District. When you go into the water, you will find yourselves in a popular and serene fishing bay.

Did you know that Galveston has the most bars per capita in the country? After this, you'll know more fun facts just like that. Throughout the tour, your humorous guide will enlighten you with tons of information, history , and dad jokes. You'll find out about the founding families and the geography of the island. Moreover, your guide will point out popular landmarks, local favorites , and fun activities on the island. For the best bang for your buck, this is a fabulous choice and it's great for kids!

For a more economic tour without all the information, you can take the Galveston Trolley Tour.

Gifts of Henry Rosenberg

When Galveston businessman and philanthropist Henry Rosenberg died in May of 1893, his last will and testament was made public. To the great surprise of local residents, Mr. Rosenberg left the bulk of his sizable estate to fund various charitable projects around the city. Among these were the construction of a library, an orphanage, a church, a monument honoring veterans of the Texas Revolution, and public drinking fountains for both people and animals.
