Online Check-in and Arrival Appointment

Online Check-in U.S Department of Homeland Security (DHS) requires Carnival Cruise Line to submit a final departure manifest with specific guest information at least 60 minutes prior to departure. All guests are required to provide us with check-in information by completing their Online Check-in and selecting their Arrival Appointment no later than midnight (eastern time) prior to their sailing date.  

Guests who have completed their Online Check-in will go through a quick verification process. Failure to provide this information on a timely basis will result in a delay at embarkation. Final Boarding :   In preparation for departure, all guests must be on board by the Final Boarding time printed on the boarding pass or they will not be permitted to sail. If you encounter problems using Online Check-in, please contact Carnival.

• Please Note - We recommend using a desktop computer should you encounter connectivity issues with your mobile device while completing Online Check-in. 

Arrival Appointment Guests must select their Arrival Appointment no later than midnight (eastern time) prior to their sailing date, when completing their Online Check-in. Carnival will assign an Arrival Appointment to guests who fail to select an arrival time. This information will be emailed to the guest on the morning of departure. Arrival Appointments do not apply to guests starting their cruise in Barbados. Please arrive promptly within your Arrival Appointment to reduce your wait time in line.  

Q : Why must I select an Arrival Appointment? A :  By selecting and arriving on time for your Arrival Appointment, you will be able to reduce your wait time in line once you get to the terminal.    Q : When can I select my Arrival Appointment online? A :  Arrival Appointments can be selected for sailings within 14 days prior to sailing and no later than midnight (eastern time) prior to your sailing date. 

Q : When should I arrive at the terminal? A :  You must arrive at the terminal promptly within your Arrival Appointment. Q : Are Arrival Appointments at stateroom or guest level?   A : Arrival Appointments are selected at the stateroom level since most guests traveling in the same stateroom usually arrive together. So, be sure to consider your travel partners’ arrival time when selecting your appointment.   Q : What happens if I fail to select an Arrival Appointment?   A :  An Arrival Appointment will be automatically assigned to you the morning of your cruise. You will be notified via email and will have the option to print or save your boarding pass to your mobile device. A boarding pass is required to gain access to the terminal. Q :  If I am traveling with other staterooms and we have different Arrival Appointments, can we still check-in together? A :  Please go back to the Online Check-in tool to select an Arrival Appointment that fits everyone’s needs.   Q :  What happens if I arrive before or after my Arrival Appointment? A :  Guests who do not arrive on time will experience longer wait times.   Q : What happens if my desired Arrival Appointment is not available? A :  Arrival Appointments are capacity controlled in order to minimize wait times. If your preferred Arrival Appointment is closed, please select the next available appointment.   Q : What is the latest time I can arrive at the cruise terminal for my cruise? A : In preparation for departure, you must be on board by the Final Boarding time printed on your boarding pass or you will not be permitted to sail.

Royal Caribbean to Make First Calls to Vanilla Islands

• April 14, 2024

Royal Caribbean International will make a series of inaugural visits to Vanilla Islands with the Serenade of the Seas in May, according to a press release.

The Serenade of the Seas is scheduled to visit four islands: Seychelles (May 14); Madagascar (May 17); Mauritius (May 19); and Reunion (May 20).

Pascal Viroleau, chief executive officer of Vanilla Islands Organisation, said that this visit promises to inaugurate a new era of travel and discovery for the region. 

“Royal Caribbean is cruising for the first time in our seas. It will come in May,” Viroleau told Cruise Industry News . “We hope that the calls will satisfy both the company and the passengers and then they could deploy a more consistent program.”

MV Corinthian cruise ship is currently owned and operated by  GCCL-Grand Circle Cruise Line . The shipowner is Grand Circle Corporation via its subsidiary company Grand Circle Travel USA ( Boston MA -headquartered travel agency).

The cruise ship Corinthian is a passenger vessel (IMO number 8708672), 1990-built (in La Spezia Italy ) and initially operated by Great Lakes Cruise Company (as Orion 2) and Renaissance Cruises (as Renaissance 4). After Renaissance Cruises (1989-2001) ceased operations (see scrapped ships and defunct lines ), the boat was renamed Clelia 2.

On December 27, 2009, while operating under charter by Travel Dynamics International (New York-based cruise travel operator), Clelia II ran aground off Antarctic Peninsula . The accident  resulted in starboard propeller damage, lost of the starboard engine and electricity. The fleet mate Corinthian 2 (now Hebridean Sky) assisted and escorted the damaged ship back to Ushuaia (Argentina) . 

Clelia II was partially disabled by a rogue wave on December 8, 2010, while transiting the Drake Passage . The Navigation bridge was also damaged. The nearby Lindblad ship  National Geographic Endeavour assisted the disabled vessel during the accident.

During the vessel's 2018 drydock refurbishment (at Naval Roche shipyard in Lisbon Portugal ) the shipowner contracted Scanship Holding ASA to deliver and install Scanship AWP (Advanced Wastewater Purification) system on MV Corinthian. This marine technology completely purifies ship's waste (grey and black water).

Cruise itinerary program

MV Corinthian schedule calendar includes Mediterranean (from Bordeaux , Lisbon , Rouen), Baltic Sea (from Copenhagen ) and Antarctica cruises (from Buenos Aires , in winter).

Following the Coronavirus crisis, in 2021 the ship was chartered by Overseas Adventure Travel, beginning operations in July 2021 in the Mediterranean. Other signature destinations in the cruise schedule included Suez Canal transition and Antarctica (December 2021).

Decks and Cabins

The all-suite cruise ship Corinthian has a total of 50 staterooms (min-sized 215 ft2 / 20 m2) all offering modern hotel amenities. All cabins feature individual temperature control, CD/DVD player, TV, king-size bed (all offer twin-bed configuration), iPod docking station, personal safe, clock, refrigerator with soft drinks, bathroom with full-size shower, and more. Guests staying in the Penthouse and Veranda Suites also enjoy a private balcony, butler service, and exclusive in-suite amenities.

The boat has 7 decks , of which 5 are passenger-accessible and with cabins.

Shipboard facilities and amenities

Complimentary beverages including bottled water, tea and coffee, soft drinks, premium spirits, and select fine wines are served throughout Corinthian. The ship has one restaurant, accommodating passengers at a single, unassigned seating. Vegetarian and well-being selections, special dietetic menus are provided upon request.

Onboardpublic facilities include two bar lounges, library (Internet Cafe), wellness complex (Spa, beauty salon, gym), boutique ship, Jacuzzi, swimming platform and ample deck areas for sunbathing and relaxing. One Lift (passenger elevator) connects all decks. Yacht’s public spaces are warm, decorated with rich fabrics, polished brass, handsome wood, rare antiquities, fine works of art. Gratuities are included in the cruise fares.

The 100-passenger ship has an ice-strengthened hull, retractable stabilizers, a fleet of Zodiacs (high-speed boats used for shoreside cruising and landings).
