Kublai Khan TX Announce 2024 Australian Tour

Kublai Khan TX will return to Australia for a headlining tour in August 2024. It comes less than a year after the Texan metalcore band were last in the country, touring as a support act for Polaris ‘ Fatalism Australian tour alongside August Burns Red and Currents . These dates will also serve as the band’s first-ever headlining tour locally; they first toured Australia in 2017 supporting The Acacia Strain , returning in 2022 as guests of Justice For The Damned .

Joining Kublai Khan TX as main support for the tour will be Terror . The Los Angeles hardcore veterans last toured Australia in January 2020, making them one of the last heavy international acts to tour prior to the pandemic. They are touring in belated support of their 2022 album Pain Into Power , as well as to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album One With The Underdogs .

Kublai Khan TX – ‘Low Tech’

Also on the bill are UK band Guilt Trip, marking their maiden voyage to Australia. Described as “the new generation of Manchester hardcore”, the band are touring in support of their second studio album Severance . It was released in September of 2023, and featured guest appearances from members of Malevolence and Lower Than Atlantis.

Rounding out the bill is Newcastle hardcore band Splinter, who will open every show on the tour save for Hobart and Perth. Last week saw the band release their debut EP, entitled The Hill I’ll Die On .

Kublai Khan TX are heading out on tour next week with Sunami, Judiciary and Momentum — a bill that we're unofficially dubbing the " 2024 Ass-Beaters Tour." 

To give their pits a little extra something to spin-kick about, Kublai Khan — one of  Revolver  readers'  five favorite hardcore bands right now  — have dropped a new one-off single called "Low Tech," which follows up their 2023 song "Theory of Mind."

"Low Tech" sounds like Kublai Khan. It's heavy. It's got breakdowns. The riffs are down-tuned. Frontman Matt Honeycutt sounds like you tapped his shoulder in the middle of a deadlift set and he's gonna chase you across the gym to whoop your ass.

The hardcore scene is currently witnessing an explosion of growth unlike anything we have ever witnessed. This growth is spurred on in equal parts by an injection of new fury, and a respect for those that have made it what it was. It is with that understanding that Kublai Khan TX are proud to announce their first ever Australian headline tour, bringing scene legends Terror, and metallic UK shredders Guilt Trip along for the ride on their debut trip downunder & Newcastle upcomers Splinter.

Since 2008 Kublai Khan have built a die-hard following, from their breakthrough single “The Hammer”, the band were made a household name across the hardcore scene, following that up with albums Absolute and most rececently their EP Lowest Form Of Animal, and singles Theory of Mind and Low Tech, Kublai Khan TX have proven their worth as one of the best and most exciting bands in the hardcore scene today.

For over 20 years now, Terror have put in the world to not just build themselves up, but by building every single band around them up too. The consistency of the LA five piece to produce relentless hardcore both in the studio and on the stage is testament to their work ethic and their passion for hardcore music around the world.

Joining these two heavy weights are UK shredders Guilt Trip, and their debut visit to Australian shores. Fresh off releasing their sophomore album Severance, the band has begun to take over the world with their unique take on hardcore, incorporating flashes of 80’s thrash and 90’s metal to their brutal style of beatdown hardcore.

Rounding out the package is Newcastle up and comers Splinter who recently dropped their latest EP The Hill I’ll Die On to rave reviews across the Australian scene. The young act has already shared the stage with the likes of Speed, The Acacia Strain, End, and more, they are hungry to sink their teeth into more of Australia and show just what they can do.

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.
