The best day of our holiday!

The Marmaris jeep safari was honestly the best part of our holiday to Turkey this summer. Extremely good fun from7 to 77 and great value for money. Marmaris Travel is the best safari company in town and they are brilliant. The safari takes up full day day, but is well worth it. They picked us up from our hotel with some other guests and then taken from an introduction chat with the other jeeps. The guys in the team are very friendly, great with their English skills and informative. The safari tour involves driving through villages with the mountain scenery around you will stop at the waterfall, Jesus beach, lunch, local villages. Some little tips that will help you: take a towel and sunglasses for the dirt track - you will get wet and a little muddy! Also, take a camera, but (don't forget to protect it from water and mud) if you want as there are so many photo opportunities. There's a photographer taking photos of you the entire safari tour and you can buy all your pictures and videos on a CD. I would highly recommend Marmaris Jeep Safari to anyone staying in the town, whether it's couples, families or groups of friends.

Note of warning if you do decide to go on this trip bring a towel, perhaps a spare tshirt. if you have phone with you, it is worth while bring a plastic seal-able bag to protect it from the water!

Collection from our hotel, a few extra people in the jeep we were a party of 9 with 2 extra parties with us. Price was good for the jeep & dust masks. The whole experience was great. Our children (3,7,8,10,10) loved it so did us adults. Spiderman took some great footage. The lunch stop off was expensive for drinks. Guide spoke multiple languages. This was the top excursion we did this holiday 100% recommend.

Tolle, kurzweilige Tour mit vielen Highlights: Offroad Fahrspaß, Besichtigung einer Moschee, des Manavgat-Wasserfalls und der antiken Stadt Lyrbe, Mittagessen direkt am See und Besuch eines Tierparks. Habe die Tour mit meinem 10jährigen Sohn gemacht, er war total begeistert! Mehrere Jeeps mit Sitzbänken auf der Ladefläche (für 6-8 Personen), deutschsprachiger Guide. Ein Fotograf war auch dabei, Fotos und Video konnte man anschließend kaufen (30€). Ein wirklich lohnenswerter Ausflug!

We had so much fun! Was a bit apprehensive that 8 hours would be a bit long but it literally flew by! Water fights all the way… great photo opportunities… we was a family of a 10 yr old 15,16,17 and none of them complained… all the staff went out their way to make sure everyone enjoyed themselves and they were all so friendly and polite!

The jeep safari was one of the best activities we did as a group! It was very competitive and we got stuck in. Was great fun and we got completely drenched, it was brilliant!!! Jeep safari was such a laugh, throwing water bombs to the other jeeps and squirting with the water guns, it was crazy.

Great way to end it was going to the Jesus beach and a beautiful waterfall that you were able to jump off! Great pictures and videos where taken throughout the day and not to forget the good was fab! Definitely would do it again, money well spent, memories not to be forgotten!

Jeep safari is real fun , fun , fun !!!! We booked couple trips from mares travel and jeep safari tour in Marmaris was one of the best one that i can recommend you guys . Wear your swimming costume because you will get really wet during the day. Its really good day out if you have children in your group.

We booked our jeep safari tour through Mares Travel online which worked out significantly cheaper than through Thomas Cook at our hotel or the offers on the street. In the morning we were put into our jeep (4 of us, another family of 4 and a couple) the driver spoke little English but was friendly and entertaining. We were a convoy of 6 jeeps, led by a colorful character named Rambo who was very talkative & gave us lots of information.

The water fights between jeeps were brilliant fun, a real highlight for the kids and a great way to cool down in the heat!

Lunch was also good, we enjoyed a basic meal of salads, breads and chicken kebabs.

The setting at the waterfall was lovely & we were brave enough to swim in the icy cold water (take your breath away cold!)

This is a great day out for children and adults alike, we had the best day and time flies by so quickly. Definitely recommend bringing an extra T-shirt or something because you do get soaked in the water fight but the heat does tend to dry you off quite quickly. Do not confuse Mares Travel company with some of the jeep safari company in this area, Mares is a superbly run company and their safari tours are first class. Jeep safari is the most fun I have had in ages. Having never done a safari tour like this I didnt know what to expect, but it was great fun. I just never stopped laughing all day and I would easily recommend this safari tour to anyone.

The tour started after they picked us up outside our hotel and drove up through Marmaris and into the pine forests with our driver Rambo is driving the jeep and finding every muddy puddle he could drive through. We had lots of fun with the water fights. Definitely one of the best trip ever thanks to Rambo thank you guys.

This is one of the first trips we done at marmaris and it was fun from start to finish, you will get really wet but you soon dry of and Rambo had my boys laughing all the time but you need to see the funny side with his humour as it won’t be for everyone. If you’re looking to explore the beautiful countryside just outside Alanya then this is the tour for you. Not only do we explore the amazing Taurus mountains, but you will be driven along narrow dirt paths in between valleys, up mountains and down canyons as we traverse this landscape. We’ll visit a small local zoo where you can pet some animals before heading to the majestic green canyon. This lake was created when the river Manavgat was dammed here. You can swim and take boat rides around the area and it’s a great spot to get away from it all. So, come and join us on this cool way to explore our countryside.

We’ll come and pick you up in our luxury jeeps from your hotel in Alanya. These vehicles are the only way to travel through the countryside. They can go on dirt tracks, up the side of mountains and down steep hills. They offer unparalleled access to farms and small villages and from your vantage point in the higher seats you’ll have the best views as we journey around the area.

For the nature and animal lovers amongst you, you will love our first stop on today’s tour. A small, local petting zoo offers you the chance to see some of our more interesting animals and to learn about different species that can be found here. Your guide will explain about all of the different animals and some of their quirky habits.

After our short stop at the zoo we’ll continue through the countryside. We stop off at an orchard and try some fresh fruit, this really is the only way to taste fruit, right from the trees. Then we continue our safari, always through the best scenery Turkey has to offer.

Our destination is of course the green canyon. This man made lake is a consequence of the Oymapinar dam which was built in 1984 and is the fifth biggest dam in Turkey. Once we arrive at the lake you can enjoy swimming and other water sports activities such as water skiing, canoeing and riding catamarans. Lunch is included in the price of the tour. We will sit down and relax at a local restaurant by the lake.

This full day tour will get back to Alanya at about 5pm and is a great way to see some of Turkey you might otherwise not see.

Pick up: Our friendly jeep driver will come and pick you up from your hotel and begin the safari at around 9am in the morning.

Jeeps: Our vehicle of choice today is the local jeep. Our drivers know the roads and dirt tracks like the back of their hands so all you need to do is sit back and relax and enjoy the drive. The jeeps are very comfortable and guarantee you a much better view than you’d get in a normal car or coach. They are also the only vehicles that can get you through the rugged terrain of the Taurus mountains.

Zoo: Our first stop is a small, local zoo. This is a really good opportunity to get closer to some Turkish animals than you can in the wild. Great for photo opportunities your guide will be on hand to explain about each different animal. This is a really unique stop for animal lovers.

Jeep Safari: This tour is an adrenaline filled ride through the olive trees, farms and orchards of the Taurus mountains. Our driver will speed you along the dirt tracks and you’ll feel the wind in your hair as you climb and fall in between valleys. We’ll stop off at a local orchard and try some freshly picked fruit as we continue along our journey to the Green Canyon.

Green Canyon: The green canyon was formed when the Manavgat river was dammed by the Oymapinar dam. The dam was built between 1977 and 1984 and today helps to produce about 3% of Turkey’s electricity. Perhaps the canyon is much more well known for its multitude of water activities that go on on the surface. When we get to the canyon you will want to splash right into the cool water. You can go for a leisurely swim, try your skills at water skiing, take a relaxing catamaran ride or even hire a canoe and go exploring. This really is a water world paradise. For those interested in fishing you can do so in the canyon as well. We’ll have lunch at a local restaurant before enjoying some more water activities before we leave.

Return back: The ride back in the jeeps is just as much fun as the journey to the canyon. We arrive back in Alanya at about 5pm. You will have enjoyed some great sights and had a swim at one of the best watering holes in all of Turkey.

You are able to buy water shoes at the destination for the rafting for an additional €10 - however you can wear your own shoes as long as they are closed toes. The quad bikes are really exciting but I recommend you wear sunglasses because it can get pretty dusty. The zip line is across the river but quite short. Overall, great day and I recommend to all!
