Thousands of fans from across the region will descend upon Lincoln Financial Field to hear and see the Grammy-winning artist and Berks County native perform more than 40 hit songs.

With reports of tickets commanding more than $10,000 apiece on secondhand markets, the stakes are high for those who have dedicated months to planning their outfits, memorizing set lists, and watching concert clips on social media.

The shows on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday begin at 6:30 p.m. with performances by Phoebe Bridgers and Gayle.

To make sure things go smoothly this weekend, here are some important tips from Nicole Pivonka, an advanced practice nurse with Virtua Health.

Protect your ears

The loud music and screaming fans can take a toll on your hearing. Pivonka said to avoid potential long-term damage, wear ear plugs or other devices to help reduce the decibels or lessen ambient noise.

Wear sensible shoes

Most concert-goers will be standing or dancing for the three-hour concert, and don't forget about the pre-show festivities.

"People put a lot of thought into their Eras outfit. I encourage them to make sensible shoes part of the overall ensemble," Pivonka said.

Spare your vocal cords

While singing along is inevitable, Pivonka recommends moderation to avoid losing your voice or, worse, causing damage.

lincoln financial field eras tour map

If you are hoarse or raspy the day after the concert, that is most likely not a reason for concern. If those symptoms persist beyond 24 hours, consult a medical professional.

Wear sunscreen

We all know the event will be a day-long celebration. Do not forget your SPF.

Stay hydrated

Drinking water will help you stay healthy during and after the concert. Pivonka suggests that fans can avoid "Champagne Problems" by consuming one or more servings of water in between any alcoholic beverages.

Bring basic supplies

Don't forget things like aspirin, band-aids, and hand sanitizer.

"Of course, my number one tip is to just enjoy and have fun," Pivonka said. "It's all about making memories."

SEPTA running additional late-night service

SEPTA is helping fans get to Lincoln Financial Field by offering extra service on the Broad Street Line for the Taylor Swift concerts all weekend long.

Friday, May 12: Five local trains will leave Fern Rock Transportation Center at 6:08, 6:18, 6:28 6:38, and 6:48 p.m. These local trains will make all stops at NRG Station.

Saturday, May 13: Five local trains will leave Fern Rock Transportation Center at 4:30, 4:40, 4:50, 5:00, and 5:10 p.m.

Sunday, May 14: Five local trains will leave Fern Rock Transportation Center at 4:42, 452, 5:02, 5:12, and 5:22 p.m.

Taylor Swift Eras Tour Philadelphia concert review: A pop masterclass, and unreal homecoming show

Three hours and 15 minutes. Forty five songs. A profoundly satisfying adventure through a prolific catalog, with 70,000 devout fans coveting every deep cut, belting each obscure lyric with spiritual revelry.

Sound familiar? There’s a new Boss in town.

On her mammoth new Eras Tour , Taylor Swift has recalibrated the bar for pop stadium spectacle, outdoing even her previous monolithic and record-breaking roadshows in scale (52 sold-out U.S. stadiums, international to come) and further strengthening her bond to a fanbase unmatched in its dedication to the celestial Swiftie-verse.

The ultra-star commandeered Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia Friday night, her first tri-state area concert in five years and the first of three de-facto homecoming shows this weekend. Swift, 33, was raised an hour west in Wyomissing, Pa. before relocating to Nashville as a young teen.

“I grew up just down the road,” Swift noted to the deafening audience, many of whom donned costumes mirroring past music videos (a powder-wigged “Bejeweled” duo were a personal favorite). “You spend your whole childhood with your dad watching Eagles games on TV …” she added, continuing on about how she’d never dreamed she’d be playing a stadium in her neighboring city.

Of course, Taylor’s already been at this a while — her “1989″ (2015 ) and “Reputation” (2018) tours also played football stadiums in most American cities, including Philly. But heading into 2023, Swift was, to some extent, a victim of her own success: Since her last tour, she’s amassed a backlog of six No. 1 albums (“Lover,” 2019; “Folklore” and “Evermore, 2020; re-releases of “Fearless (Taylor’s Version” and “Red” (Taylor’s Version),” 2021; and “Midnights,” 2022; all of them co-produced by New Jersey’s Jack Antonoff ).

For a pop deity to tally more than 80 new or previously unreleased songs between tours is unheard of. So came the question: How could Swift possibly build a concert that pays homage to hits new and old, and not balloon the thing into an unmanageable marathon?

Simple: She would indeed play the lengthiest shows of her career, and manage it just fine, thanks.

“We’re going to go on a journey … through 17 years of music, one era at a time,” Swift declared early in the show, her perfectly straightened bangs not yet curled from sweat. “I’ll be your host, my name’s Taylor.”

As with all things Swift, each moment across her highly glamoured pop endurance test — broken into 10, mostly album-specific segments — was meticulously plotted. While Swift doesn’t dare attempt the intense pop-and-lock choreography of a Beyonce or Jennifer Lopez, her “crowd work” is unmatched — the finger points and happy waves; the knowing winks, nods and glances; the blue-eyed stares directly into the sea of iPhone cameras, so every fan believes their dirty-blonde demigoddess is looking at them only.

Swift has built a career toeing the line between vulnerable relatability — like your lovelorn school friend, whose heart has been shattered a dozen different ways — and untouchable, Barbie doll-like aura. She’s just like us, only better in every conceivable way.

And as the show went on, Swift delivered again and again, touching both ends of her aesthetic spectrum. For the new “Evermore” song “Marjorie,” written about Swift’s late grandmother, the crowd lit up the stadium with tens of thousands of swaying, twinkling phone lights. Swift’s perfectly lined eyes began to well immediately. She composed herself and sang through it, thanking the audience upon the song’s conclusion: “That was really nice of you,” she said, “that’s the most incredibly personal song you could have done that for.”

She continued in that moment, laying on the hometown shtick. “Pennsylvania is where my childhood … all the imagination and daydreaming, creating dramatic scenarios in my head to write down later (began). … All my memories with my grandmother happened in Pennsylvania.”

Surely Swift will save anecdotes from her summers at the Jersey Shore for her upcoming trio of MetLife Stadium shows in East Rutherford May 26 to 28. Swift’s family owned a home in Stone Harbor for much of her youth.

Yes, the intimate, fan-tethering moments were special and very welcome. But then there was the reality of the performance, the immensity of the production, the nine costume changes, the smoke, the fire, the utter euphoria and mayhem of a concert with such maniacal anticipation finally becoming real. Here were a few choice moments:

  • During her “Red” session, Swift unloaded the updated, 10-minute version of her most beloved ballad “All Too Well,” and during the cresting bridge — “maybe we got lost in translation …” — the sing-along was so outrageously emphatic, it’s unclear how the neighboring Walt Whitman Bridge didn’t crumble into the Delaware. This moment rivaled the loudest collective human sounds I’ve ever heard; up there with BTS and Metallica. The song finished with a rain of snow-like confetti (bound to another lyric, of course), which fans naturally scooped into their pockets as keepsakes.
  • For “Reputation,” Swift stood at the center of her enormous catwalk, on steps rising from the stage for “Don’t Blame Me,” and unleashed a soaring, gospel-like belt — the night’s finest vocal moment — summoning beams of light from the stage several hundred feet into the South Philly sky. Surely this could have been seen from Gloucester County.
  • As songs from “Midnights,” her newest world-beating album, finished the set, Swift and her troupe of dancers took a more sultry approach to her thumping “Vigilante S***,” performing a smoldering chair dance unthinkable during Swift’s early, squeaky-clean days on country radio.

While all of those moments are built into each night’s performance, the Eras Tour has since its March kickoff been defined by its surprise songs — two per show, with hundreds of thousands of fans watching fans’ TikTok live-streams from home. Swift performs these solo, harkening back to her earliest days; one on acoustic guitar, one on a cabinet piano painted with a rainbow of flowers. This night, she debuted on guitar “Gold Rush,” a winning burner off “Evermore,” which fittingly mentions an Eagles t-shirt in its lyrics (there was some debate over whether the line referenced the band or the football team; Swift confirmed the latter).

She followed it with “Come Back … Be Here,” a deep cut from “Red,” at the request of her opening act, indie darling Phoebe Bridgers (who also emerged earlier to perform their sweeping 2021 duet, “Nothing New.”)

For sake of brevity, I won’t indulge further into the other 40 or so songs’ individual stagings, which shifted from vivid, maximalist pop bedlam (“Cruel Summer,” “Blank Space”) to mossy cottage-core (“The 1″) and witchy interpretive dance (”Willow”).

Just know this is the tour. The tour against which all other A+ level pop extravaganzas will now be measured. If you snagged seats for one of the MetLife shows or elsewhere, prepare not only for a magnificent and endlessly exciting cross-section of Swift’s career — a millennial-distinguishing songbook, delivered at the height of her power — but for what may go down as the pop-culture experience of the decade.

It’s been a long time coming.

Taylor Swift's 'The Eras Tour' comes to Philadelphia for three shows this weekend

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

Taylor Swift 's record-breaking "The Eras Tour" comes to Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

While it's not exactly a homecoming for the megastar, her Berks County roots certainly give T-Swift an area connection. Her family still resides in Wyomissing, where her father, Scott K. Swift, is a financial advisor.

This is Swift's 32nd concert in her home state and it is taking place just across the street from one of the first major Pa. venues where she performed.

Swift sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" at Citizens Bank Park for the 2008 World Series. It came just days before the release of her smash sophomore album, "Fearless," which would launch the first concert tour of her career six months after the Phillies world championship.

In a 2009 interview with writer Erica Finamore at UDaily , a promotional publication produced by the University of Delaware's Office of Communications and Marketing, the elder Swift revealed how that World Series appearance came about.

“The reason she sang the anthem is because two University of Delaware alumni kept in touch over the years,” said the 71-year-old, who graduated from University of Delaware in 1974.

UD alum Michael DiMuzio, the now-retired longtime director of ballpark operations for the Philadelphia Phillies, would meet up with Swift once a year for a reunion and through that connection Taylor landed the anthem gig.

In the '09 interview, Scott Swift joked about how his daughter's success had sparked messages from plenty of old college buds: “You can either go on classmates.com or have a daughter who sells 10 million CDs.”

The head of Merrill Lynch's Wyomissing-based The Swift Group told UDaily that former college classmates would reach out when his daughter was performing in their hometown, even back then.

“I've heard from a lot of great alumni and I'm convinced they live in every city because whenever Taylor's rolling into wherever she is, we'll hear from them,” he said.

TAYLOR SWIFT IN NASHVILLE: 5 moments from her remarkable return on the 'Eras' tour

It'll be tough scoring "Eras" tickets for the alum. The entire tour is effectively sold out, including Swift's Philadelphia concerts, at which Phoebe Bridgers opens all three shows and GAYLE is also on the Friday and Saturday bills.

Back in December, a full three months before "Eras" launched, the Wall Street Journal reported only 6% of tickets were still available for the tour, which will wrap up Aug. 9 in Inglewood, California's SoFi Stadium.

Even though she has performed only 16 of the tour's 52-date U.S. stadium trek, she has already broken some records. They include the female artist who has performed to the largest crowd in American history. It happened when she kicked off the tour for more than 69,000 fans in Glendale, Arizona, beating Madonna's record from 1987.

The 11-time Grammy Award winner will take the stage in South Philly on  Friday, May 12, and Saturday, May 13 , accompanied by opening acts Phoebe Bridgers and GAYLE. Tickets go on sale Friday, Nov. 18 at 10 a.m. Swift said the concerts on the tour will include music from her entire catalog. She has released six albums since the conclusion of the Reputation stadium tour more than four years ago.

Swift broke the news of the Eras Tour on "Good Morning America" on Tuesday.

"I wanted to tell you something that I've been so excited about for a really long time, and I've been planning for ages. And I finally get to tell you I'm going back on tour" Swift said in a recorded clip played during the morning show. "The tour is called the Eras Tour, and it's a journey through all of my musical eras of my career."

The Reading native first teased the possibility of a tour during her an appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on Oct. 24, while promoting her 10th studio album, " Midnights ." The singer, who is well known for her elaborate album promotion, told Fallon that her next tour would happen when the time is right.

Swift hasn't toured since 2018's Reputation tour, which included a stop at Lincoln Financial Field. Though she had said she would tour her 2019 album "Lover," the plans were scrapped due to COVID-19.

Since her last tour, Swift has released four original albums — "Lover," 2020's "Folklore" and "Evermore," and "Midnights," — along with two re-recorded versions of her past work, which had previously unreleased songs.

There are 28 concerts scheduled for the U.S. leg of the Eras Tour.   International dates were promised, but dates have yet to be announced.

Eras kicks off March 18 in Glendale, Arizona, with opening-act performances by Paramore and GAYLE. Other supporting acts joining the highly-anticipated tour include MUNA, beebadoobee, girl in red, HAIM, Gracie Abrams, and OWENN.

Bridgers and HAIM are recent collaborators with Swift. Bridgers teamed up with Swift on " Nothing New ," a previously unreleased track added to "Red (Taylor's Version)," the re-recorded version of the singer's 2012 smash-hit album. Indie pop trio HAIM were featured on " no body no crime ," the murderous ballad on 2020's "Evermore."

Following Tuesday's announcement, fans rushed to Twitter to share their excitement — and fears about expensive resale tickets.

Swift is using the Ticketmaster Verified Fan program, allowing people to register for presale tickets now through Nov. 9 at 11:59 p.m. Registered fans receive codes giving them exclusive opportunities to purchase tickets for the Eras Tour beginning Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 10 a.m.

Those who previously purchased Verified Fan tickets for Swift's Lover Tour , and who register the Eras presale using the same account, will receive preferred access to participate in the  TaylorSwiftTix Presale , according to Ticketmaster.

Ticket prices start at $49 and go up to $449. VIP ticket packages — available first come, first serve — start at $199 and go up to $899.

The tour announcement comes less than two weeks after Swift released "Midnights," which became the top-selling album of the year in just one day and broke Spotify's single-day record for streams. On Monday, Swift became the first artist to claim all 10 spots on the Billboard Hot 100 at one time.

The album had more than 1.5 million sales in its first week. This is largely due to physical media — though Swift's 3 a.m. deluxe version of "Midnights" was released as an entirely digital album, the singer released four different physical versions of the standard edition, some including bonus songs not available on streaming platforms.

"Midnights" is available to stream or purchase . Fans can also check out the album's second music video, for "Bejeweled."

Important information for buying tickets during the TaylorSwiftTix Presale powered by Verified Fan:

Our goal is to maximize the number of fans who have an opportunity to shop.

The link in your text will direct you to the show you were selected for — either a show that was available during registration or a show that was announced after registration closed.

If you were selected for a show available during registration, your code will enable you to shop  that  show  or any show in the same city  that was announced after registration closed. (You will not be able to shop a different show that was available during registration).

If you were selected for a show announced after registration closed — i.e., the link in your text directs you to one of those shows — your code is good for that show. We recommend you use the code for that show as it will have the greatest availability for you. If you choose, you can use your code instead for the show you prioritized first during registration; however, we expect demand for that show to be higher and your wait to be longer.

Remember, each code only allows you to purchase 6 tickets.

A limited number of VIP Packages + Tickets may be available at time of purchase. Check your event page for any VIP details.

What are the health check requirements?

Review: Taylor Swift kicks off historic 3-night Eras Tour run in South Philly with a dazzling 3-hour spectacle

The almost entirely female multigenerational gathering of Swifties on Friday were bejeweled in sequins and rhinestones, unequivocally ready for the singer’s first Linc performance in five years.

Taylor Swift performs during the first of three Eras Tour performances at Lincoln Financial Field Friday night.

Taylor Swift sat at the piano on Friday in South Philadelphia during the first show of the sold-out three-night run of her Eras Tour at Lincoln Financial Field and shared tales of her songwriting modus operandi.

The first step, she explained while wearing a marigold-yellow gown designed by Italian fashion house Etro during the witchy Evermore section of the extravagantly staged, exhaustively entertaining, 3-hour-15-minute show, involves putting pen to paper.

”I write my things down,” she said, spilling creative process secrets before “Champagne Problems,” about a would-be engagement that doesn’t work out. “And then I sing them. And then eventually I get to feel them. Because that’s what I do.”

There were feelings aplenty at the Linc on Friday, where the Wyomissing, Pa-raised pop star talked about her father watching Eagles games on Sundays as she was growing up, and welcomed to “my hometown show” a crowd of 67,812 exceedingly enthusiastic fans. Do the math: That means more than 200,000 people — a number far larger than any other mega-pop attraction coming to town this year — will see Swift in South Philly this weekend.

With Bruce Springsteen , she becomes the only artist to play a three-night stand at the Eagles stadium. The multigenerational gathering of Swifties on Friday were bejeweled in sequins and rhinestones, unequivocally ready for the singer’s first Linc performance in five years.

Many were done up in outfits inspired by songs and videos from the 10 albums in the 33-year-old singer’s 16-year recording career, all of which got their own segment except for the very first, Taylor Swift . That could mean wearing a floor-length, 18th-century-style dress complete with Marie Antoinette wig in homage to “Bejeweled,” featured in the seven-song section from Midnights , Swifts’ 2022 album, that closed the show.

Or it perhaps meant building a tiara out of chess pieces, inspired by a lyric from “Dear John,” from 2010′s Speak Now . That song was not performed, as the only one to make the Eras cut from that album — which will be released in a rerecorded version in July — was the dream-like ballad “Enchanted.”

During that “Champagne Problems” introduction, Swift spoke of how her coping mechanism during the pandemic was similar to what’s always guided her: “Write as many songs as I can.” The results of Swift’s determination to bring her creations into fully formed being were on display throughout a multiple-costume-change evening during which her image was projected on a football field-wide video screen that made her appear like a Gulliver-sized pop star come to rule over her Lilliputian subjects.

Swift had fun with her image as a world-smashing pop cultural presence. In the staging of “Anti-Hero,” the Midnights hit in which she refers to herself as “a monster on a hill … lurching toward your favorite city,” she appeared on video towering over a cityscape, unable to stop herself from knocking over everything in her way.

The Eras show is episodic as it efficiently moves from album to album, with impressively detailed set pieces on a journey back and forth through time. Most thoroughly manifested was the segment from 2020′s folklore , with Swift and her band inside a cabin with a moss-covered roof and smoking chimney. It brought to life a fantasy Swift described as “the escapism I needed during the pandemic … picturing myself like a pioneer woman in a Victorian nightgown writing on parchment with a quill.” She moved about during the (perhaps too many) seven songs from the album in a gossamer Alberta Ferretti dress, looking like a heroine from Wuthering Heights .

For oversized pop shows, performers often get among the people by parading down a catwalk. Swift has done that one better with a diamond-shaped stage that extends nearly to the Linc’s 50-yard line. It ’s so big, in fact, that during “Blank Space,” a highlight of the pop-savvy stretch from 2014′s 1989 , there was room for dancers to ride around on neon-lit bicycles. And that bold aesthetic also shined during the Reputation section, with Swift in a one-legged catsuit and aggressive dub-step beats contrasting with the homespun segments.

But never mind the staging. Swift has become super-proficient at eye-popping spectacle. And she’s increasingly at ease with the exacting demands of a crowd-pleasing enterprise.

The Eras tour does play a little bit long, as Swift strives to spotlight all four new albums she’s released since last touring. But it’s nonetheless so effective that it’s unlikely even those who paid more than $1,000 to sit in Linc nosebleed seats left less than completely satisfied. And that has less to do with presentation, and more with songs. She has so many: catchy, inventively crafted tales perceived as relationship-gone-wrong stories that are really coming-of-age inquiries about memory and regret that create a world a whole lot of people see themselves in.

Are 40-some songs enough to encapsulate the Taylor Swift oeuvre? Not really. That’s why she’s cleverly included a two-song surprise segment that holds fans in speculative suspense, adding mystery to the otherwise highly choreographed show. On Friday, the mini-solo set began on guitar with “gold rush,” ending the debate about whether the song’s line about an Eagles T-shirt is about music or football.

“I love the band the Eagles,” she said. “But c’mon, I’m from Philly.”

The second, which Swift sang while at the piano, was “Come Back … Be Here,” from Red . That expression of longing was requested by Phoebe Bridgers, the emotionally acute songwriter whose superb eight-song set ended with the screaming catharsis of “I Know the End,” was exceptionally well-received. Bridgers, who joined Swift on stage for “Nothing New,” was scheduled to play Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday’s concert opened with Gayle, who also played Friday, getting a sing-along going on her profane hit “abcdefu.” Gracie Abrams is to replace her Sunday.

An important footnote: The adjunct member of Bridgers’ band was Matty Healy , the 1975 leader rumored to be dating Swift, whose relationship with British actor Joe Alwyn is said to be over. That’s of interest, of course, because Swift specializes in songs inspired by her personal life. But it also provides a key to the Eras Tour, whose nonchronological ordering of albums has puzzled fans and critics, with the show starting with songs from Lover , her seventh album.

The beginning that Lover did chronicle, however, was Swift’s romance with Alwyn. And with that relationship apparently over, a close Midnights listen argues that it’s really a breakup album, with repeated mentions of a woman unhappy being pressured to marry in such songs as “Lavender Haze” and “Midnight Rain.”

Closing the show with those melancholy laced songs, rather than ending with exultant bangers, means ending on a somewhat anticlimactic note, as a highlight-filled marathon feat of endurance that doesn’t come to a dramatic crescendo.

For that moment, you needed to go back more than an hour to “All Too Well,” the titanic, 10-minute kiss-off from the rerecorded Red that’s the apotheosis of Swift’s detail-noticing narrative style. She delivered the exquisite hurt with closed-eyes concentration on such cut-to-the-quick Swiftian lines as “you kept me like a secret, but I kept you like an oath” while calling out a heartbreaker as “casually cruel, in the name of being honest.”

As confetti fell from the sky, Taylor Swift was doing what she does: feeling something, and making sure a stadium full of people felt it, too.

Lincoln Financial Field at 20: The most memorable Eagles games, concerts at The Linc

From hosting sold-out concerts by superstars Bruce Springsteen and Taylor Swift to seating thousands of fans during two decades' worth of Philadelphia Eagles games, Lincoln Financial Field has seen it all.

The Linc, as it has affectionately come to be called, opened on Aug. 3, 2003, and in that time, it has hosted four NFC Championship Games, several Army-Navy weekends, major international soccer games including the FIFA World Cup in 2026, sold-out concerts and Monster Jam weekends.

And as Lincoln Financial Field — which also serves as the home field for the Temple University Owls football program — turns 20, here's a look at some of the most memorable concerts and games held at the young but fabled stadium.

20 years of concerts at The Linc: These 46 major concerts have rocked Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field over 20 years

Beyonce', Kenney Chesney, Taylor Swift among top concerts at Lincoln Financial Field

Taylor swift (10 concerts).

Sure, Taylor Swift's home state shows are always an event, but there haven't been any bigger than when "The Eras Tour" pulled into Lincoln Financial Field for a trio of concerts this past spring, drawing overflow crowds who danced (and sang) the night away in stadium's parking lots.

The epic 45-song, 3½-hour career-spanning shows showed she has the same stamina as another longtime Philadelphia stadium favorite with extra-long setlists: Bruce Springsteen.

Swift made her Linc debut in the summer of 2011 with a 19-song set, encoring with "Fifteen" and "Love Story" from 2008's "Fearless." She returned for back-to-back shows in the summer of 2013, the spring of 2015 and again in the summer of 2018.

Kenny Chesney (10 concerts)

Tied with Swift for the most concerts at 10 in the Linc's history is Kenny Chesney, king of made-for-summer country music. His most recent was last summer when he put on a 25-song show with Dan + Shay, Old Dominion and Carly Pearce opening.

He's racked up Swiftian numbers at the Linc with concerts in the summers of 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011 before spring shows in 2013 and 2014. He later came back for a pair of summer shows in 2015 and 2016 and a spring shindig in 2018.

The 2018 show was a special one: Members of the championship Eagles team appeared on stage with the Super Bowl trophy for the football-themed song "The Boys of Fall."

Beyoncé (4 concerts)

Like Swift's three-show run in the spring, Beyoncé's Linc return this year was next level.

Queen B brought her "Renaissance World Tour" there last month and was met with a stadium full of frenzied fans for her own marathon 3½-hour show, which included nearly every song from last year's "Renaissance" album.

Before this year's spectacle, she began her Lincoln Financial Field run with spring and fall shows in 2016 before co-headlining with husband Jay-Z in the summer of 2018.

Bruce Springsteen (3 concerts)

Springsteen hosted the first concerts at The Linc, a three-night stand starting 20 years ago on Aug. 9, 2003.

For most fans, it was their first time inside the sparkling new stadium, making it more than just a night with The Boss. It was a preview of a beloved home field.

By the final night, Springsteen gave a nod to the City of Brotherly Love and broke out his heartbreaker "Streets of Philadelphia" from the 1993 Tom Hanks/Denzel Washington film "Philadelphia."

One Direction (3 concerts)

Before Harry Styles was packing stadiums worldwide, he did the same at the Linc as a member of the British boy band One Direction.

Since their 2015 breakup, Styles has headlined Philly twice, but not at Lincoln Financial Field. Both shows, in 2018 and 2021, were held at the nearby Wells Fargo Center. Odds are that his next show here would be at the bigger Linc, considering his burgeoning popularity.

One Direction's shows at the Linc were held in the summer of 2014 (back-to-back nights) and the summer of 2015 when they broke out the theme to "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" during their encore, referencing Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff's Philadelphia roots.

Snow Bowl, NFC Championships among greatest games ever at The Linc

Tope 20 games at The Linc: Top 20 Eagles games in 20 years at Lincoln Financial Field, from 'Snow Game' to NFC titles

Eagles finally win NFC championship, Jan. 23, 2005

A foot of snow fell the day before, and the temperature at game time was 17 degrees. Yet Eagles fans screamed from the top of their lungs from the opening kickoff right until the 27-10 win over Michael Vick and the Falcons was secured, sending the Eagles to the Super Bowl for the first time since 1980. It was also their fourth straight NFC championship game, the first three being losses.

Eagles Beat Vikings for Super Bowl berth, begin era of The Underdog, Jan. 21, 2018

Despite having the No. 1 seed, the Eagles were underdogs for the second straight home playoff game, this time with a Super Bowl berth on the line. Patrick Robinson broke open a 7-7 game with an interception return for a TD, and the 38-7 rout was on. For the second straight game, Lane Johnson and Chris Long broke out dog masks to mock their underdog status.

4th-and-26, the birth of FredEx, Jan. 11, 2004

The Eagles were facing a fourth-and-26 from their own 26, down by 3 points, with about 2 minutes remaining against the Green Bay Packers. That's when Freddie Mitchell caught McNabb's pass just past the first-down marker. The Eagles got the game-tying field goal, then won in overtime. After the game, Mitchell said: "I want to thank my hands for being great."

The Snow Bowl, Dec. 8, 2013

An unexpected snowstorm during the game blanketed the field with about 7 inches. That's when LeSean McCoy found his footing. He ran for 149 yards in the fourth quarter and set the franchise record with 217 yards rushing in the Eagles' 34-20 win over the Lions.

Wild wildcard win against the New York Giants, Jan. 7, 2007

The Eagles had to turn to the run game, and Brian Westbrook delivered with a 49-yard TD run in the second quarter to help the Eagles build a 20-10 lead in the fourth quarter. But the Giants managed to tie the game with 5 minutes left. Then a heavy rain started falling as David Akers made a 38-yard field goal as time expired, giving the Eagles a 23-20 win.

After tour with Taylor Swift, Bucks County's Sabrina Carpenter slated as SNL musical guest

It’s been a whirlwind of world travel for Bucks County native Sabrina Carpenter. After a stint as the opening act on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in South America, Asia and Australia, the 24-year-old singer and actress is coming fresh off last month’s performance at Coachella in California.

The Quakertown native will be closer to home next weekend when she is the musical guest on the season finale of “Saturday Night Live,” 11:30 p.m. May 18 on NBC. Jake Gyllenhaal is hosting.

Carpenter, who was signed to a record deal 10 years ago, has five albums to her credit, including 2022’s “emails I can’t send,” which featured the single “Feather.” She followed it up with the holiday-themed EP “Fruitcake” in November. Born in Quakertown, her family moved to nearby  East Greenville, Montgomery County, before heading to Los Angeles to pursue her career at 13.

Carpenter has been tight with Swift prior to the Eras tour, attending her concert as a fan at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia in May 2023 and in the Kansas City Chiefs luxury box hanging with Taylor as they watched Travis Kelce and his teammates.

Along with her music career, Carpenter also is an actress who's best-known role was in the Disney Channel series "Girl Meets World," which ran from 2014 to 2017.  She has also appeared on “Law & Order: SVU” and the movies “Adventures in Babystting” (2016 version), “Tall Girl” (2019) and “Work It (2020).”

‘Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour’ Global Box Office Nears Massive Milestone

  • Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour concert film is continuing its successful theatrical run, earning $240 million globally against a budget of less than $20 million.
  • The film had a strong opening weekend, breaking concert film records and nearly setting a new benchmark for October releases.
  • T he Eras Tour has received positive reviews and has helped revive the theatrical marketplace during a period of uncertainty. It is distributed directly by theater chains like AMC and Cinemark.

By popular demand, Taylor Swift ’s The Eras Tour concert film extended its theatrical run this weekend, after fulfilling its month-long obligations to great success. The movie retained a spot in the top five list on this weekend’s domestic box office chart , as it inched closer to a huge milestone globally. In its fourth week of release, the film dropped by only 20% domestically, as it returned to thousands of new theaters.

The Eras Tour has grossed $172 million stateside so far, and another $68 million from overseas territories, as it nears the impressive $250 million milestone. The concert film currently sits on a cumulative global haul of $240 million — all against a reported budget of less than $20 million. The film debuted domestically and in dozens of international territories on October 13, before entering a second leg of release in the remaining territories on November 3. The Eras Tour broke concert film records in its opening weekend itself, and nearly set a new benchmark for October releases when it debuted at $92 million. Initial projections had the movie opening north of the $100 million mark domestically, which would have meant that it broke Joker ’s $96 million October record as well. But despite having fallen marginally short of this target, The Eras Tour proved — not that any was needed — Swift is a force to be reckoned with in virtually every field of entertainment.

Until recently, the film held a rare 100% “fresh” score on the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes , which has since fallen to 99% with just one negative review out of 82. The Eras Tour will, however, always retain its perfect A+ CinemaScore from opening day audiences. Collider’s Ross Bonaime called the film “an incredible testament to Taylor Swift's already gargantuan career” in his positive review .

The Eras Tour Defied Expectations Week After Week

Over the weeks, the film fended off competition from Martin Scorsese ’s three and a half hour epic Killers of the Flower Moon , the horror hit Five Nights at Freddy’s , and the children’s film PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie . Directed by Sam Wrench , The Eras Tour documents the pop-star’s career-spanning live show of the same name, which recently began a new international leg in South America. In the course of its run, the film was credited with having revived the theatrical marketplace at a very uncertain time during the recently concluded WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. The film was also hailed for shunning studio involvement entirely, and being distributed directly by theater chains such as AMC and Cinemark.

You can watch The Eras Tour in theaters , and stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
