Victoria Falls

The Victoria Falls marks the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe and can be accessed from both countries, each offering their own distinctive beauty and activities. But the waterfall is just the beginning. The Victoria Falls are framed on both sides with beautiful national parks, and the local wildlife is thriving. You can start a day with visiting the majestic Falls, and finish your day with a safari experience of a lifetime by tracking rhino on foot.

Botswana is justly considered the crème de la crème of African safari destinations.

This is not surprising, since the diversity of habitat boggles the mind – desert, rivers, salt pans, savannah and lakes to mention a few. And diversity of habitat leads to incredible diversity of wildlife and breath-taking animal sightings.

Botswana

This is the Africa we all fell in love with the first time we watched the Lion King. Between its remarkable people and local cultures, its thriving wildlife, its fairy-tale landscapes and the beautiful exotic beaches of Zanzibar and other smaller islands, Tanzania truly is an unforgettable holiday destination.

Mauritius

The island of Mauritius, with its 160km of picture-perfect beaches and azure waters, its lush interiors and sparkling waterfalls, is one of the most popular destinations in the Indian ocean. Easily accessible by direct flight from Johannesburg, this very affordable destination is malaria free, and a favourite place for honeymooners, families and young adventurers alike to unwind after an unforgettable African safari. With over a hundred beaches and distinct regional differences, this extremely versatile island truly offers something for everyone.

Picture yourself lying on a white sandy beach, palm trees above you rustling from a gentle breeze, the waves lapping at your toes, while you lazily sip on your lavish cocktail. The only decision left to make for the day is whether or not to take one more dip in the gin-clear waters in front of you before heading off to your romantic candlelit champagne dinner, or to go for a romantic massage... Cliché? Perhaps, but in this case the cliché really does exist.

Maldives

The Seychelles is what most people will automatically picture when dreaming of a secluded paradisiac island. As the chosen location for movies such as Castaway and Robinson Crusoe, it is easy to see why this island nation has become a quintessential honeymoon destination - it is truly gorgeous.

And yet, the Seychelles is so much more than just a collection of beautiful white sandy beaches. The nation is comprised of 115 islands, of varying sizes and characteristics, some rocky and mountainous, others lush with dense forested areas, and others still are exotic with palm trees overlooking dreamy beaches and low-lying coral reefs.

Activities

Kenya is the birthplace of the world renowned African safari, literally. Meaning “journey” in Swahili, the word safari was first introduced to the English language in the 1850s by an intrepid adventurer called Sir Richard Francis Burton. Kenya’s mystical pull over the rest of the world has not diminished over the centuries since then.

Unspoiled and untamed, with over 2,500km of uninterrupted coastline and clusters of postcard-perfect islands dotting its shore, Mozambique is a little corner of paradise. Its pristine white sands and turquoise waters can rival those of the Maldives or Seychelles, yet it is more affordable than these islands. It is also less built-up than most Indian ocean islands. For now, Mozambique is still well-off the beaten tourist track, however it is fast becoming the place to go for those searching for some sand, sea and sun in Africa.

What do people think about us?

François and JD organised our romantic trip to the Kruger for us and everything was perfect. They were very quick to suggest a list of different options for us, matching our needs and budget. They took care of all the admin and details and we didn't have to worry about a thing! I've never been so at ease about a holiday, as I usually take care of everything myself. The travel app is really well designed and personalised. I loved the service and I absolutely recommend them for your next African trip!

Aurélie , France

JD, Francois & The Travel Cafe are brilliant. Everything from the start of our trip to the finish has been wonderful & taken care of. Personally, this has been the best experience with any travel agents/trip-planners (and I have dealt with many). They take away all your sorrows and we got to see so much more than when we would have booked by ourselves. They made us feel at ease and maximized our enjoyment of the trip.

All in all, fantastic.

Iron, Netherlands

The Travel Cafe is exactly what any traveller wants (and needs)! Personal, swift, full of hidden gems, and tailored to your wishes and budget! They will share all their secrets with you, to ensure you get the best out of your holiday. Be prepared to be amazed from start to finish. JD, Francois and their team will continue to exceed your expectations in every single way!

We admire the passion you have put into every single part of our holiday! It was the perfect escape from our daily life back home. Thank you all a million and hope to see you again soon!

Starry starry night ⭐⭐n.

local travel agents in cape town

Located on the iconic Route 62, between Montagu and Barrydale and a quick 2½hr drive from Cape Town, Starry Starry Night eco mountain reserve is located in the foothills of the rugged Langeberg Mountains. Conveniently close to surrounding towns yet far away for that middle-of-nowhere feeling so you can properly switch off. The reserve is perfectly positioned as a midway stop-over between Cape Town and the Garden Route.

Our reserve is blessed with two stunningly beautiful rivers, waterfalls, hiking routes, natural rock pools, views that seem to stretch into the future, an abundance of stunning fynbos, organic herb and veggie garden, tranquillity, fresh air, dazzling night skies and the chance to truly disconnect from the busy-ness of everyday life and properly recharge your batteries. Our accommodation is pet-friendly to sociable and well-behaved dogs by prior arrangement (maximum of 2 dogs per cottage).

We recommend a stay of 3-nights or longer to truly get to experience everything our beautiful eco mountain reserve and its surrounds have to offer.

As one of our recent guests observed: “Starry Starry Night is tonic for the soul. Plain and simple”. We cannot argue with that – why not book and come see for yourself?

LOCAL TRAVEL AGENCY IN SOUTH AFRICA

Southern africa inbound agency.

Séparateur du site internet SATravellers, agence de voyage en Afrique Australe

The history of South African Travellers dates back to 2007 when a befriend couple fell in love with South Africa and they decided to pack their bags and settle in a game reserve adjacent to the famous Kruger Park. Soon, the desire to share their passion for this continent was established with the creation of SATravellers, a local and in the beginning French speaking agency in Cape Town.

In September 2018 Natalie and Filip decided to work with our friends and that's how the dutch part of SAT came to life. Travel and discovery are in our blood. After 12 years of expat experience in various destinations (Croatia, Morocco, Switzerland, Tunisia, Nigeria, South Africa) and 21 years in the 'corporate' world, we decided to settle in Cape Town and change our lives.

In 2020, while the founders dream of different horizons, Filip decides to take over the reins of the company in which he is fully involved, together with Xavier, a fellow countryman specializing in motorbike travel here in southern Africa who has the same passion for these beautiful countries.

Blown away by the beauty of this city and this country, we would like to share our experiences and passion and to provide our travellers an unforgettable experience, with local insights and backed by a super experienced, passionate team. We call ourselves Travel Companion, indeed that's how we see it, because we want you to experience a journey the way we would like it with our family. As much as possible off the beaten track, authentic and rich in adventures and plenty of tasting of the "couleur locale", literally and figuratively!

Ready for the Adventure?

Managing Director

What is your role within SAT - Travel agency in South Africa?

Responsible for the management / administration of the office

How long have you been in South Africa?

What is your background?

After having worked for 21 years in a multinational, having had the occasion to travel a lot as expat for the same company, having lived in various places such as Zagreb, Casablanca, Lausanne, Tunis, Lagos and Cape Town, we felt really at home in South Africa and we decided to change our lives! Making from our passion our job was a dream come true!

What is your favorite place in South Africa?

Too many to mention, because all regions have their own character, but if I have to pick 1 place then it is Cape Town, the Mother City. A metropolis that feels more like a village where nature is around the corner and African and Western culture are a true cross-pollination. Just magic! Living in Cape Town means being in a city that offers all the comforts of a European capital, great climate, fantastic food, wines and less traffic jams! In addition, the city is an excellent base camp for exploring Southern Africa, our playground. Chapman's Peak in my backyard is simply my favorite spot. As a cycling fan it is just amazing to climb the mountain and discover every time a different scenery. The views from the top to the ocean and to the most beautiful bay in the Western Cape are just stunning! Not to mention the mindblowing sunsets...

Xavier-SA-Travellers

After working for years in the financial markets, I suddenly needed a change of scenery… and it was while traveling the world that I fell in love with Cape Town!

I love nature, the ocean, surfing and mountain running so Cape Town is clearly my favorite playground! Living in Cape Town means being in a city that offers all the comforts of a European capital but without the pollution, stress and traffic jams! In addition, the city is an excellent base camp for exploring South Africa and its surroundings. The vineyards, the Garden Route and the Karoo Desert are my favorite spots.

Administration

What is your role within SAT - Travel Agency in South Africa?

I'm responsible for keeping the roadbooks for our clients in good shape. The 'devil is in the details' and that's my job so our clients can travel without worries.

After first working in the pharmaceutical sector as a lab assistant, I then followed my husband into the expat world and that's where the passion for tourism and travel grew.

What is your favourite place in South Africa?

Cape Town is clearly my favourite! Here is everything a city should have, but much less hectic than in Europe. From beautiful nature, nice bars and restaurants, a pleasant climate, shopping...in short everything. It is also the ideal base to discover the surrounding countries of Southern Africa! The dunes of Namibia, the Okavango Delta in Botswana and the beautiful beaches of Mozambique, to name but a few.

Liesbet

Introduction, where are you from?

Haai! My name is Liesbet. I was born in Belgium, in Flanders, and always thought I would live in a historic house along one of the canals in Ghent. But on a holiday, I met my future husband, and I am actually at the point where I have lived half my life in South Africa. Every day straddles both countries.

Since I used to work as an archaeologist before, I got to know the country from a different perspective and collected bits of information on towns and places which you will not find in a tourist guide.

And on the other hand, I love baking and sharing Belgian desserts and speculoos.

With my eye for detail (an archaeologist after all!), I like the “i’s” dotted and the “t’s” crossed. So I do final checks of bookings as well as building roadbooks for clients. A holiday is like a puzzle where all the pieces have to fit together exactly to make the pretty picture.

What are the advantages of a trip organised by SAT?

We make sure that you don’t need a holiday to recover from all the holiday prep work! And if there are any surprises along the way, we make sure it are only good ones.

What is your in favourite place in Southern Africa?

I can’t really pick one place. I have great memories of trips to Gamkaskloof in the Swartberg, dangling my feet over the edge at Augrabies Falls, or being in the middle of the Karoo feeling like you are alone on the world. But I am mostly yearning for another long and leisurely drive through Namibia.

Tell me something crazy that happened to you here!

It was in this morning’s meeting here at work 😊 Filip mentioned he had seen 5 cobra’s in Camps Bay. My thoughts first went to the snake before I realized he was talking about the car brand!

Travel Designer

Presentation, where are you from?

I was born in a hilltop village in Vaucluse where I grew up. I am passionate about travel and hiking.

After my studies I put my suitcases 1 year in Australia to learn English. After that I traveled through Asia and Latin America before settling in Paris. After 2 years in Paris I decided to try expatriation and I landed in Cape Town for an indefinite period. I am now delighted to organize your dream trips to Southern Africa.

I am a travel designer

Why did you choose SAT?

I would say that SAT chose me because my values stick to the spirit of the agency. We are all driven by the same passion for travel and adventure and always up for new experiences.

What are the advantages for you of a trip organized by SAT?

The advantage is that you leave with peace of mind because we take care of everything from A to Z 🙂

My favorite place is undoubtedly the bush. I love being in nature and exploring animals. Each safari is a different and unexpected experience.

I am also a fan of Cape Town and its surroundings. I never tire of exploring new places whenever I get the chance.

Recently I was able to share a moment with the Shark spotters of Muizenberg who, perched on their belvedere, scan the horizon to warn swimmers of the presence of sharks.

From my first week in Cape Town I had the chance to see about fifteen whales by chance from the Sea Point promenade in Cape Town. It was magical and since each time I pass on the promenade I observe the sea, hoping to see them again.

Hello, my name is Tiphaine and I am 27 years old. I am a Savoyard. I did all my studies in Savoy with semesters abroad in Canada and Ireland which gave me the fiber of travel. I then joined a company in Germany, in Dortmund, where I put my bags for 4 years. From there, I continued to travel in my spare time (Los Angeles, Vegas, Miami, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Thailand, South Africa, Mauritius…). In 2018, I left my job in Germany for a year of Working Holiday Visa in Australia and then I followed the reason of the heart to come and settle in Cape Town and start the SAT adventure. To be continued….

I joined the SAT team as a travel designer where I take care of organizing the most beautiful trips possible in South Africa for all people wishing to discover this country with 1000 facets.

What could be better than entrusting your trip to a team of local experts who will be able to create a tailor-made itinerary for you. Holidays are a moment that we look forward to every year and during which we want to have a totally free spirit to make the most of the experience. Being able to create your 100% personalized itinerary without joining an organized tour that will make you feel like yet another tourist in South Africa is the key to an unforgettable experience. And then, in the event of a problem, you can take advantage of French-speaking support 24 hours a day.

What is your in favorite right in South Africa?

I fell in love with Noordhoek, just 1 hour from Cape Town. The scenic Chapman's Peak road that you take to reach Noordhoek already leaves you speechless and the immense beach of white sand finishes making the place exceptional. While there, I can only recommend a horseback ride on the beach and a romantic evening at Cape Point Vineyard to watch the sun set behind the ocean. Special mention for the cheese platter that I could eat every day, accompanied by a white wine from the vineyard.

On a hike to Crystal Pools in Gordon's Bay (which I recommend with my eyes closed), I learned the hard way that baboons are masters of the land. As I was enjoying my picnic in front of the waterfall, a huge male baboon wanted his share of the sandwich too. He darted under me, showed his long, sharp teeth, and grabbed my bag with my drone in it before scurrying off into the forest. Luckily, park rangers explained to me that he was just going looking for food and should leave my things alone after the inspection was over. After 10 minutes, I was able to find my bag and my drone in the forest and since that day, I admire the baboons of Cape Town, but from afar!

megane

Megane grew up in a small town near Lyon. However, she soon decided to study abroad and flew to the Netherlands. Her studies and her work led her to live in different countries such as India, Nepal, Indonesia and finally Namibia. She settled and worked in a lodge in the middle of the savannah and woke up every morning with giraffes at her window. After two years of travelling through the wide open spaces of Namibia and Botswana, Mégane set off to discover South Africa. She falls in love with the magnificent cosmopolitan city of Cape Town and the famous Garden Route.

Charlotte

Hello everyone, my name is Charlotte, and I am 24 years old. I was born in the southern part of the Netherlands. After High School in Netherlands, I completed my Bachelor’s in Hasselt, Belgium. After spending some time in India for an internship, I decided to travel to South Africa to visit my best friend. It is safe to say that I lost my heart to Cape Town 😉

I joined the team as a travel designer for the Dutch-speaking and English-speaking market. That means I design your dream trip, according to your wishes, budget and expectations.

A trip organised by SAT is a trip that you will never forget. Our goal is to give you an experience that goes beyond your expectations. Given the fact that the trips are tailor-made, you are the boss of your travels! We strive to give you a unique and authentic experience, just how we would like our own holiday to be. Because we are based in Cape Town, we know the ins and outs of Southern Africa. You don’t have to worry about a thing, just pack your luggage and enjoy! Even during your trip, we will take care of any unforeseen circumstances, just contact us 😊

What is your in favourite place in Southern Africa?

I am afraid that is a question with multiple answers… If I really have to choose 1 place, I would choose Cape Town. It was my first encounter with South Africa, and it did definitely not disappoint. I love the variety of activities that Cape Town has to offer, from hiking to sunbathing and from shopping to fine dining. It will take a lifetime to discover all the hidden gems of the Mother City!

Just like my colleague Tiphaine, I also had an encounter with the baboons of South Africa. During a family camping trip at Kogel Bay Beach, the baboons decided that we had to share our food with them. Our food was stored in a little trailer, parked very close to our tents. One morning, we were all having breakfast around the fire, when a family of baboons ran across our camping spot. The Alpha male decided he was in need of some groceries and stole our packets of spices from the food trailer…

Top Travel Agencies in Cape Town, South Africa (SA)

local travel agents in cape town

Travelling to new places is always enjoyable and usually rejuvenating for the soul. It’s an experience that lingers in memory and the heart for all time. However, making travel arrangements can be highly stressful, but with the assistance that travel firms offer, one can relax. This StarInsights report examines the top travel agencies in Cape Town , based on user reviews and ratings .

Market Overview

SA ranks among the most popular countries for tourists on the African continent. For this reason, there are many trustworthy and qualified travel businesses in the nation. This has led to the tourism industry to thrive, especially the sub-niche related to online booking. According to Statista , 68% of total revenue in the SA Travel & Tourism market will be generated through online sales by 2027.

Complementarily, the number of options available to anyone looking online for travel firms in SA will likely surprise them. There are countless travel agencies, just like there are different business models. The services provided by the best travel agencies typically include:

  • Flight bookings and reservations
  • Hotel accommodations
  • Car rentals
  • Tour packages and sightseeing arrangements
  • Travel insurance
  • Visa and passport assistance
  • Currency exchange
  • Customized travel itineraries and planning
  • 24/7 emergency assistance

How to research on the best services provided by travel agencies

Travel companies are in fierce rivalry as foreign tourists or visitors flock to the nation in record numbers. As a result, choosing the best travel agency to suit one’s demands and budget may be very difficult. It goes without saying that choosing a reliable agency requires giving top priority to great customer service. Customer service is synonymous with communication. Nothing else matters if the customer service is bad.

As such, one should start by researching different types of travel agencies and the services they offer. This can include online travel agencies, traditional brick-and-mortar agencies, and niche agencies that specialize in specific types of travel.

In this digital age, we’ve seen the rise of social media and travel influencers, online travel comparison sites, and instant sharing. Consumers are more empowered than ever and are making buying decisions based on a new type of word of mouth ( reviews ). Therefore, look for reviews and testimonials from previous customers of the travel agency.

Client reviews are the key for both business owners and tourists in this saturated industry. Positive evaluations lend legitimacy, and customers are more inclined to return later on in the travel selection lifecycle. Online reviews are used by travellers in their travel planning process even before making a purchasing decision. For this purpose, this StarInsights research provides a thorough examination of travel agencies in Cape Town, based on these assumptions. The findings are established through evaluating reviews and ratings left on travel agencies Google My Business Profiles.

Most reviewed travel agency in Cape Town

With, 2125 reviews, Travelstart South Africa top the list, followed by Rhino Africa Safaris with 170 reviews and Siyabona Africa with 92 reviews. A common thread in these companies’ reviews, is that they are commended for having great services with great workmanship and customer service.

Ratings are also quite significant to a business’s importance, and in the long run, they boost customer satisfaction and sales. eKomi understands the importance of ratings and completed the StarInsights assessment by compiling a list of the top ten highest-rated travel agencies in Cape Town.

The highest-rated travel agency in Cape Town

In terms of the highest rated travel agency, CTS – Cape Travel Solutions and 7th Sense Travel are tied for the top position. Both travel agencies have perfect 5.0-star ratings. Overlanding Africa and Travel Counsellors (Pty) Ltd also follow closely, both with 4.9-star ratings are in second place. Additionally, the other companies also have stable ratings ranging from 4.3 stars to 4.6 stars, and this shows that these businesses understand the importance of reviews to business growth. We salute the owners of the listed travelling agencies in the two classifications and commend them for reliably providing quality services that result in positive reviews

eKomi’s Final Thoughts on Top Travel Agencies

Having a strong online presence, including a user-friendly website and active social media accounts, can help a travel agency reach a larger audience and make it easier for customers to book travel. Customer reviews can have a significant impact on a business’s reputation and growth. They boost a business’s reputation, increase customer trust and loyalty, and drive more sales.

We therefore recommend all travel agencies to work with survey organizations like eKomi to enhance the number of reviews. Reviews are vital in this day and age, to the extent that the vast majority of sites now display reviews and other user-generated content on their sites.

Top 12 Best Travel Agencies in Cape Town (2023)

If you are looking for travel agencies in Cape Town, look no further than this list.

A travel agency is an organization that provides travel-related services to the public. They usually provide a range of services, including booking flights, hotels, accommodations, and vacation packages. Some agencies also offer other services such as passport or visa assistance. The job of a travel agent is to provide information about destinations, flights, hotels, and other services. They help people find the best deals for their budget and schedule.

One of the most important aspects of a good travel agency is professionalism. The employees need to be polite and well-educated about their products. They should also be able to answer any questions about the destination or product with confidence. The price and quality are also important factors when it comes to choosing a good travel agency.

Worst Complaint: “Travelstart is the absolute worst online booking site. DO NOT I REPEAT, DO NOT book flights or accommodation through them. Firstly they charge you around R800-R1000 more that Budget Air. Their website does not work correctly when they send you a link via e-mail. I am absolutely appalled by their service and do not recommend them at all.” – Candice De Stadler (1/5 stars).

Certification: Unavailable.

Flight Centre Canal Walk

local travel agents in cape town

As one of South Africa’s travel giants, Flight Centre has a clearly proven track record, and their Canal Walk branch is no exception. Flight Centre offers accommodation, corporate travel management, cruises, and tours.

As you might expect from a well-known brand, Flight Centre is very active on multiple social media platforms including Facebook (averaging 2 posts a day), Instagram (with 1.5K posts), Twitter (averaging 2 tweets a day), and even Tik-Tok (with a respectable 232 posts). Unsurprisingly their following is also massive with 421K Followers on Facebook, 70K on Instagram, 21.6K on Twitter, and 9.8K on Tik-Tok.

Worst Complaint: “This is the worst service once you have booked they do not do refunds even although they have not discussed this with you and you are forced to cancel due to global pandemic. Absolutely disgusted, being my first trip overseas” – Caroline Wiborg (1/5 stars).

Pentravel Tyger Valley

local travel agents in cape town

If Flight Centre isn’t for you, consider one of their closest competitors. Pentravel offers all the standard services that you’d expect to receive from an established travel agency, such as accommodation, cruises, flights, luxury holidays, transport, and travel insurance.

Pentravel is active on social media with 1.6K posts on Instagram, an average of 3 posts a day on Facebook, and one tweet a day on Twitter. Pentravel also boasts 23.8K Instagram followers, 120.6K Facebook followers, and 3.9K Twitter followers proving it’s one of South Africa’s biggest travel agencies.

Best Compliment: “Loved the service of the staff members. Always a pleasure purchasing my getaway here.” – Kurt Jonathan (5/5 stars).

Worst Complaint: “I called and noone answered. I then filled in an online form to book a getaway.  It has been 2 weeks, I have heard nothing.” – Stephanie Mkandla (1/5 stars).

Chelsea Travel

local travel agents in cape town

Chelsea Travel has some excellent reviews on Google. They offer most standard services including accommodation, activities, car hire, coaches, cruises, entertainment, flights, foreign exchange, and travel insurance.

While their 4.6 average rating is a good indicator, there are two concerns. One is that although Chelsea Travel used to post an average of three posts a month on Facebook, they seem to have been inactive since March 2021, something that might disappoint their 344 Facebook followers. The second concern is that their IATA and ASATA certification isn’t readily available on their website.

Don’t discount Chelsea Travel though. It’s worth checking out more of their reviews on Google to get a feel for their service.

Website: https://chelseatravel.co.za/

Google Reviews (out of 5): 4.6

Number of Reviews: 38

Best Compliment: “Wonderful service. Natalie the consultant was available and professional. Best service I’ve had for a long time.” – Lorna Mulder (5/5 stars).

Worst Complaint: “Booked a flight, phoned to cancel it, found out later that it was not cancelled when it was charged to my credit card and as I found out only much later it was too late to argue the charge. Thanks for wasting my money.” – AC Achermann (1/5 stars).

Prospur Travel

local travel agents in cape town

Another travel agency boasting 4.6 stars on Google Reviews is Prospur Travel. Their services include accommodation, cruises, flights, foreign exchange, meals, travel insurance, and travel documents.

Unfortunately, Prospur Travel is inactive on Facebook and only has 137 tweets on Twitter. Unsurprisingly, the result is that their social media is dwindling with 1.1K Facebook followers, and 42 Twitter followers. Prospur Travel is both IATA and ASATA certified.

Website: http://www.prospurtravel.com/

Number of Reviews: 22

Best Compliment: “Excellent service. Timely, efficient, friendly and willing to go the extra mile. Couldn’t recommend them enough.” – Naadiya Hoosen (5/5 stars).

Worst Complaint: “I phoned for a quote 2 wks ago, received not response. They must have lots of business not to want mine. I purchased from elsewhere” – IHM Tassiopoulos (1/5 stars).

West Beach Travel

local travel agents in cape town

Coming across a travel agency with only 5-star reviews is pretty rare these days. West Beach travel offer services such as 24/7 assistance, accommodation, activities, flights, itineraries, meals, travel insurance, and visas.

Their social media presence is fairly small, due to a lack of activity with only 209 posts on Instagram, and an average of two posts a day on Facebook. The result is 327 Instagram followers and 2.5K Facebook followers.

One issue you would need to clarify with West Beach Travel, is whether they are IATA or ASATA certified, as this isn’t available on their website.

Website: https://westbeachtravel.co.za/

Google Reviews (out of 5): 5

Number of Reviews: 33

Best Compliment: “I have dealt with Glenda for over 10years. She has always given me prompt and wonderful service while giving me the most cost affective options. I would rather book with Glenda knowing that she is one call away if I run into trouble while travelling.” – Mandy Salonika (5/5 stars).

Travel With Flair

Travel With Flair

Travel With Flare seems to be more business orientated, which can be seen by the services they offer. Some of these are 24/7 assistance, accommodation, car hire, conferences, corporate travel management, events, flights, and incentive packages. TWF is the only travel agency on this list that has an ISO 27001. They’re also a member of the Southern African Association for the Conference Industry, and the American Society of Travel Advisors.

If you’re still uncertain, it’s worth considering that TWF won the World Travel Awards for South Africa’s Leading Travel Management Company is 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. Their social media presence is a bit lacking with an average of one post a month on Facebook, and 137 tweets on Twitter. Their following is decent with 14.9K Facebook followers, and 1.3K Twitter followers.

Website: https://www.travelwithflair.co.za/

Google Reviews (out of 5): 3.9

Number of Reviews: 27

Best Compliment: “Thank you for your excellent, efficient and lowest cost travel arrangements. I would make you the best travel company in Cape Town by far.” – AB Westin (5/5 stars).

Worst Complaint: “These people do not know there own system.” – Eugene Anthony Van der Walt (1/5 stars).

Love Africa Travel

local travel agents in cape town

Love Africa Travel offers fewer services than most of the travel agencies on this list. Yet, it’s clear from their average of 5-star reviews that they do these services well. These services include accommodation, activities, flights, meals, safaris, and transfers.

Their social media presence is small with only 159 posts on Instagram, an average of two posts a month on Facebook, and 307 tweets on Twitter. It’s therefore unsurprising that their following is average with 157 Instagram followers, 4.9K Facebook followers, and 28 Twitter followers.

Make sure to find out if they are IATA or ASATA certified before making a booking!

Website: https://www.loveafricatravel.co.za/

Number of Reviews: 18

Best Compliment: “Sandy did an amazing job of suggesting  places to visit coordinating our travel.  All our excursions, safaris, transport and flights went perfect.  It was a trip that exceeded all our expectations. We LOVED Africa Travel.” – John P (5/5 stars).

Global Travel Alliance

local travel agents in cape town

Global Travel Alliance offer a handful of services including accommodation, flights, self-driving tours, and tours. Global Travel is a member of the Cape Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Cape Town Tourism.

Surprisingly their main social media activity seems to be on Twitter, with only 377 posts on Instagram, an average of two posts a month on Facebook, and 2.3K tweets on Twitter. And yet their main following stems from Facebook with only 509 Instagram followers, a fantastic 17K Facebook followers, and a decent 372 Twitter followers.

Like with all the travel agencies who don’t display their certification, you need to ensure that they’re IATA and ASATA certified before enquiring about their services.

10 Traits of the Ideal Travel Agent

A good travel agent will make booking your dream vacation a breeze. Here are 10 traits of the ideal travel agent:

1. They’re organized and efficient

Organization and efficiency are important for any company, but for a travel agency, it is crucial. When you work in a travel agency, you have to be able to organize everything from flights to hotels and itineraries. But if you don’t have the proper organizational skills, this can get very difficult.

2. They have great attention to detail.

Attention to detail is the most important thing in a travel agency. If you are not able to provide your clients with the whole package, they will look for someone else who can. We need to make sure that we always have the best rates, offer a variety of services and be able to meet the needs of our customers. It is also important that we keep up with all of the latest developments in the industry and are able to provide them with information about what is going on around them.

3. They’re great communicators.

Communication is one of the most important aspects of a travel agency. They need to be able to communicate with their customers, other agencies, and the public. A good communication strategy can help increase customer satisfaction and loyalty, as well as improve the company’s reputation in the industry. It also improves the company’s chances of receiving new business from referrals.

4. They’re patient and calm under pressure.

Patience and calm are two very important traits for a travel agent. Travel agents have to deal with many different types of customers, from the ones who are easy to please, to the ones who want everything their way. They also have to deal with difficult situations such as flight delays or cancellations. The best way to be patient is by being confident in your abilities and providing good customer service. The best way to be calm is by taking deep breaths and staying focused on what you’re doing at the moment.

5. They have a positive attitude.

It is important to have a positive attitude while working in the travel industry because it can make or break the customer experience. A customer who has bad experience will not come back, but a customer who has a good experience will return for more. A positive attitude can make the difference between whether or not you get that client to book their next vacation with you.

6. They’re flexible and adaptable.

A travel agency should be ready to take on any task, whether it be helping their clients plan a weeklong vacation or assisting them with booking a last-minute flight. They should also be able to work with any type of client, from those who have been traveling for years to those who are just starting out and want to experience something new.

7. They have a wealth of knowledge about destinations and travel options.

The knowledge that a travel agent possesses can be divided into two groups: general knowledge and destination-specific knowledge. General knowledge includes the ability to provide information about destinations and accommodations, as well as the ability to answer questions about destinations. Destination-specific knowledge includes destination-specific information such as available attractions, restaurants, weather, safety issues, local customs, etc.

8. They’re able to provide personalized service.

A personalized service from a travel agency can make a big difference to the traveller. They can help travellers find the best deals on flights and hotels while also providing them with advice on how to plan their trip based on their needs. Travel agencies provide an individualized service that is not offered by online booking sites. They offer personal attention to each customer and make sure that they are getting the best deal possible for their needs.

9. They have a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.

To deliver the best customer service, a travel agency needs to be committed to its customers. This means providing them with information on what they need and being available for any questions or concerns. A travel agency should also make sure that their clients are satisfied with their experience by offering the best deals and finding out what they want in order to provide them with an unforgettable experience.

10. They’re passionate about travel.

A travel agent must have a passion for travel in order to be successful in the industry. A passion for travel means that the agent is constantly looking for new destinations to recommend to clients, is always exploring ways to make travel more efficient and enjoyable and is always seeking out new travel opportunities for him or herself. Without a passion for travel, a travel agent is likely to become bored with the job and will not be able to provide the same level of service to clients.

When considering a travel agency, one important factor to consider is the agency’s social media presence. In today’s world, social media is a powerful tool that can be used to reach a large number of people with relative ease. A travel agency that has a strong social media presence is more likely to be able to reach potential customers and promote its business.

A travel agency’s social media presence can also give potential customers a good idea of the type of company it is. For example, if an agency regularly posts photos and updates from its happy customers, this is a good sign that it is a customer-focused company. On the other hand, if an agency’s social media posts are mainly advertisements or promotions, this could be a sign that the company is more interested in making a sale than providing a good customer experience.

A travel agency with hundreds of thousands of followers (such as Travel Stars 711.7K Facebook followers) shows that the brand is established and has a track record. This should always be considered alongside their ratings on platforms such as Google Reviews or Hello Peter. A large following doesn’t necessarily equate to fantastic service. It might even indicate that you’ll just be a number to the company and that you might not get the best service or personal touch that the smaller agencies would offer.

Always be skeptical of travel agencies with either no social media, inactive accounts, or small followings. While this shouldn’t be the nail in the coffin for these agencies, it’s important to factor it in when deciding who to go to for your next vacation or business trip. More important, is how the travel agency interacts with it’s followers and how they report its services. It’s all well and good to have 100K Facebook followers, but if every 10 th post is a complaint about their service, it’s not worth booking anything with them.

In short, when considering a travel agency, be sure to check out its social media presence. This can give you a good idea of the type of company it is and how likely it is to be able to reach potential customers.

Importance of Google Reviews?

If you’re like most people, you rely on online reviews to help you make informed decisions about where to spend your hard-earned money. That’s why it’s important to pay attention to Google Reviews when you’re selecting a travel agency.

Google Reviews provide an unbiased, third-party opinion of an agency’s service. And since they’re easy to find and read, they can be a helpful way to compare agencies and make sure you’re getting the best value for your money.

Of course, not all reviews are created equal. Some people may be more critical than others, and some agencies may be better at responding to negative reviews than others. But overall, Google Reviews can be a helpful way to get a sense of an agency’s reputation.

If you’re looking for a travel agency, be sure to check out their Google Reviews. It may not be the only factor you consider, but it’s certainly worth taking into account. Ultimately, the best travel agency for your needs can be found by doing a little bit of research and comparing social media presence and following, Google Reviews, price, certification, and services offered.
