Fort Aguada –  The fort was constructed in 1612 is a well-preserved seventeenth-century Portuguese fort standing in Goa. Aguada is a Portuguese word which means “Watering Place” and the fort was built by the then Portuguese rulers for providing fresh water supply to the ships passing by in the Arabian Sea.

Aguada Light House  – One of the distinctive features of the Aguada headlands are the Lighthouses built as early as 1864 thereby marking them as one of the oldest and first lighthouses to be built in Asia.

Sinquerium Church – Sinquerim Beach, in North Goa, is one of the greatest beaches for watersports in Goa. It is well-known for its world-class parasailing, scuba diving, water skiing, windsurfing, and fishing amenities

Sinquerium Fort --  The Sinquerim Fort is located at a distance of 18 kms. from Panaji. The fort stands overlooking the Sinquerim beach and bisects the shoreline into two. This fort was constructed in the year 1612. The is an extension of the larger upper Aguada fort. The lower fort consists of a bastion and a section of fortified wall on both sides. During the 16th and 17th Century ships used to anchor next to the fort.

The main intention of building the fort was to guard Goa against the Dutch and the Marathas. The fort served as a reference point for vessels coming from Europe. On the right hand side of the fort lies the Taj Holiday Village resort, which is well known amongst tourists. In the distance one can see the Candolim beach and the river princess stranded amongst the waves. Between the Taj holiday resort and the lower fort lies the Sinquerim beach. One can find many tour operators here who conduct waters port activities such as jet ski rides, paragliding and dolphin tours. On the left hand side of the bastion is a fortified wall and rocky outcroppings

Vagator Beach –  Vagator beach is one of the most scenic beaches in Goa that is situated immediately north of the Anjuna beach overlooked by steep laterite hills. The crescent shaped beach has become a favorite spot among tourists for midnight parties. The beach is also well known as the 500 Old Portuguese fort of Chapora is situated nearby.

Anjuna Beach  – The beach is famous for its stunning natural beauty with swaying palms trees and soft powered white sands. The beach is marked by an unusual rocky formation overlying a cove of white sand and black rock that juts out into the Sea.

Chauranginath Temple –   Chauranginath Temple is Shiva temple located at Arpora,Goa.

Baga Beach  – One of the favourite beach in bardez side and a tourist attraction. Goa’s Baga beach is a small but perfect beach located between its two more famous cousins, Anjuna on one side and Calangute on the other. It is a good place to enjoy some quite moments and dwell in peaceful contemplation with oneself.

Snow Park  -Indoor park with a sledding hill & ice bar, plus areas for kids & adults to play in manmade snow.

For getting the best view you either you need to see from General or sleeper window or door. In case of travel by AC class you need to be at the door. Please ensure your safety while standing at the door. Doodhsagar falls comes after Kulem station. After Kulem, there will be 3 small tunnels and falls will be visible after crossing these tunnels. Falls are visible from both sides. First be on the left side (in the direction of moving train from Kulem towards Castle rock) at the door/ window and the falls will be visible from a longer distance. After this shift to the right side door/ window and falls will be visible from very near. Both views are quite beautiful. You can take pictures and videos, but I suggest you enjoy the beauty with your own eyes rather than spending time on photography. You can always get nice photos and videos from internet. You are lucky if the train is moving slow, but if it moves fast you will be able to see it only for 20-30 seconds. In case, you want to return back to Goa, you can get down at next station Castle Rock and either take another return train or a taxi. As there was no return train available, we preferred to come back to Madgaon by taxi. Luckily we got a taxi operator Mr. Jaisheelan (+918762941167) and he dropped us back. Goa Tourism authorities on Saturday launched a unique hop-on-hop-off bus service for tourists, with a fleet of open-roof double decker and single decker buses plying through popular hotspots in Panaji and adjoining coastal areas.

Panaji: The introduction of the 'first-in-the-country' sightseeing buses will bring Goa on par with several iconic cities of the world, including Singapore, Rome, London and a few other destinations, said tourism minister Manohar 'Babu' Azgaonkar, after flagging off the hop-on-hop-off (HOHO) tour services on Saturday.

In a bid to cash in on the upcoming tourist season, hop-on, hop-off buses that will ply through popular hotspots in Panaji and adjoining coastal areas were launched by Goa Tourism on Saturday.

• Due to operational factors, a mix of single-decker and double-decker buses would be operating on the above route(s).

• What time does the tour begin? The bus tour starts at Calangute at 8.30 am.
• Which are different pick-up points? Calangute, Baga, Candolim, Senquerim, Nagoa, Saligao, Arpora, Sangolda, Porvorim
• Will I be picked at my Hotel? You will be picked up from the main road closest to your hotel located in one of the locations mentioned above. The Bus will not ply on the internal roads due to narrow roads and other constraints.
• My Hotel is not located in any of the locations mentioned above, can I still use your service? Yes, you can as long as you opt to choose one of the above boarding points. Kindly contact our helpline numbers to know the exact location and time
• My Hotel is in South Goa, I do not see any of the south Goa locations in the boarding points mentioned above. What to do now? Due to taxi union issues, we do not provide pickup & drop from South of Goa but you can still avail our services by reaching any of the above boarding points at the specified time.
• My train/flight arrives in Goa in the afternoon, can I join the tour on my arrival?   You can join in any of the sightseeing places we cover in the tour but you need to intimate us on your arrival about your joining place.

• Aguada Light House:  One of the distinctive features of the Aguada headlands are the lighthouses built as early as 1864, thereby marking them as one of the oldest and first lighthouses to be built in Asia.
• Saligoan Church   One of the greenest and daintiest villages blended into the scenic backdrop of Goa lies the tiny village of Saligao. It is barely 6 km from Mapusa and is well known for its 125-year-old parish church of Mae de Deus, a very good example of Gothic architecture.
• Vagator Beach:  Vagator Beach is one of the most scenic beaches in Goa and is situated immediately north of the Anjuna Beach, overlooked by steep laterite hills. The crescent-shaped beach has become a favorite spot among tourists for midnight parties.
• Anjuna Beach:  The beach is famous for its stunning natural beauty, with swaying palm trees and soft, white sands. The beach is marked by an unusual rocky formation overlying a cove of white sand and black rock that juts out into the sea.
• Baga Beach  is one of the favorite beaches in Bardez and a tourist attraction. Goa’s Baga Beach is a small but perfect beach located between its two more famous cousins, Anjuna on one side and Calangute on the other. It is a good place to enjoy some quiet moments and dwell in peaceful contemplation with oneself.
• Snow Park:  an indoor park with a sledging hill and ice bar, plus areas for kids and adults to play in the manmade snow.

Officials: Bus driver, 7 students hurt after charter buses crash on I-85 in Gaston County

The crash happened on i-85 north near the east ozark avenue exit..

GASTONIA, N.C. (WBTV) - Two charter buses carrying a total of 85 students were involved in a crash on I-85 in Gaston County on Friday morning, the Gastonia Police Department said.

Officials said the crash was reported around 9:45 a.m. on the northbound side near the exit to East Ozark Avenue.

Police stated that due to heavy traffic the first bus applied the breaks, but the other bus driver could not stop their bus fast enough and rear-ended the bus in front. The second bus left the roadway and ran into the woods during the crash.

The buses were carrying approximately 85 students and 21 chaperones from Gettys Middle School in Pickens County, S.C., to Carowinds for a field trip.

A spokesperson from the School District of Pickens County said seven students and a bus driver were taken to the hospital. None of the injuries are said to be serious.

The Gastonia Police Department stated that the bus driver was cited for failure to reduce speed.

Parents and guardians of students involved in the crash have been notified.

The NC Department of Transportation said one lane had been closed in the area, but it has since reopened.
