Maynard Keenan of Tool

Tool are hitting the road this fall. The prog rockers announced the dates for a North American tour on Tuesday morning (June 6), including their first Canadian shows since 2019. The fall outing will compliment the band’s previously announced summer festival gigs with six weeks of new non-fest shows slated to kick off on Oct. 3 in Loveland, CO at the Budweiser Event Center.

Tool’s Maynard James Keenan Says Drag Outfit Had Nothing to Do With Florida Law: ‘I’m Not a…

Trending on billboard.

Singer Maynard James Keenan made news last month when he wore what appeared to be drag during a set at Daytona Beach’s Welcome to Rockville Festival, that seemed at first to be a reaction to the series of  controversial bills  signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis recently that ban minors from attending  drag  shows. But the vocalist who often wears women’s clothes and bizarre costumes on stage later said the choice was personal, not political.

“I’ve been cross-dressing since long before these clickbait-junkie dupes were out of diapers,” he told The Messenger . “And that’s really all there is to it. I’m not a political fella — had nothing to do with Florida.”

Tool Announce Fall 2023 North American Tour Dates

By Matthew Strauss

Tool

Tool have announced a fall tour of North America. Following a performance Louisville’s Louder Than Life in September, the band will play arena shows in October and November. The trek also includes a performance at Indio’s Power Trip . Find Tool’s tour dates below.

Earlier this year, Tool headlined Florida’s Welcome to Rockville and Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival in Columbus, Ohio. The band also toured North America last year, but did not perform in Canada. On their upcoming tour, Tool will play Canadian shows for the first time since 2019 .

At Welcome to Rockville, Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan also performed with another one of his bands, Puscifer. He made headlines by performing in a blonde wig, red lipstick, and prosthetic breasts, which many saw as a defiant act against Florida’s restrictive laws against drag shows. Keenan, however, said his choice of attire “had nothing to do with Florida.” The singer told The Messenger , “I’ve been cross-dressing since long before these clickbait-junkie dupes were out of diapers.” He added, “It’s pretty crazy the technology and the prosthetics nowadays, how they’ve come along, and I just was considering bringing the look back.”

Kentucky Derby Ticket Prices 2024: How Much Does It Cost to Get In?

Liam mckeone | may 4, 2024.

Kentucky Derby

The 2024 Kentucky Derby has finally arrived, and it is a big one. Saturday's race will mark the 150th to take place at Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY. There will undoubtedly be some additional fanfare to celebrate the sesquicentennial race, but you can also expect the usual Derby fare — outrageous outfits, Mint Juleps, and an exciting race.

There will also be the usual assortment of famous and wealthy individuals in attendance. The Derby, among all its other qualities, is a gathering place for many highly successful individuals, from Tom Brady to Jack Harlow. Even the Queen of England attended back in 2007. Whenever the camera pans ove the crowd during the Derby the audience is almost assured to spot someone rich, famous, or both.

Those people don't have any trouble attending the Derby, what with their endless bank accounts and all. But what are ticket prices like for the general population?

Kentucky Derby Ticket Prices 2024

Tickets can be purchased directly from the Kentucky Derby official website .

An Infield General Admission ticket, which gets you in the door, costs $130. This is as basic as basic admission gets for the Derby. You get to go in through the gates to Churchill Downs, receive a program, enjoy what must be an overpriced specialty cocktail, and set up your own lawn chair to watch the Derby itself on the big board.

The next level of GA is listed as an Infield Final Turn General Admission ticket. The price point starts at $275, and it is as advertised. A standing room only ticket that lets you set up shop on the lawn right by the final turn. An exciting place to be, no matter how close the race is, and a fairly reasonable price upgrade compared to the Infield GA ticket.

A higher-level entry price comes in the form of a Frontside Plaza Walkaround ticket, which are already sold out. The starting price listed on the Derby website for such a ticket is $693. Sold as a two-day package for the Kentucky Oaks as well as the Derby, it's advertised as enjoying "a reimagined view of the Paddock with standing room access and frontside amenities." Regardless, that's a pretty penny, to be sure.

After that is when the real money starts rolling. The hospitality suites are all very expensive; the Silks Balcony & Loge, for example, charges $3,650 for entry. The Turf Club Balcony & Terrace costs $3,525 to get in. There are some more semi-reasonable options, such as the Champions Balcony & Loge ($1,775) or the Plaza Balcony & Loge ($1,775).

The nicest listed options appear to be the Woodford Reserve Paddock Club & Enclosure and the Spires Terrace & Suites. Neither has a price listed; interested parties must contact the Derby. As with many sporting events, the "cheap" options aren't very cheap and the nicest options can run up to thousands of dollars.

That's just about all you need to know about how much it costs to attend the Kentucky Derby in 2024. Enjoy!

How to get Billie Eilish tickets for the 2024-2025 world tour

When you buy through our links, Business Insider may earn an affiliate commission. Learn more

Billie Eilish is coming off quite a thrilling couple of years, and it looks like she's gearing up to continue the excitement through 2025. The Grammy and Oscar Award-winning singer-songwriter just announced the "Hit Me Hard and Soft" world tour, and tickets go on sale to the general public very soon. Below, we'll show you everything you need to know about how to get Billie Eilish tickets.

Eilish has already won nine Grammy Awards at just 22 years old, and she added a second Oscar to the mix earlier this year when she won Best Original Song at the Academy Awards for her work on "What Was I Made For?" in the Barbie movie, alongside her brother Finneas. The duo previously won the Oscar in 2022 for their "No Time To Die" song in the most recent James Bond movie.

Eilish announced the "Hit Me Hard and Soft" tour in celebration of her forthcoming album of the same name, which will be released on May 17. This will be Eilish's third studio album, following "Happier Than Ever" and "When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?"

We've got you covered if you're looking for tickets to Billie Eilish's 2024-2025 concert tour. Here's our breakdown of Billie Eilish's tour schedule, purchasing details, and anticipated pricing. Plus, we'll show you everything you need to know about the Ticketmaster pre-sale, general public sale, and exchange program.

How to get Billie Eilish tickets

Initial Billie Eilish tickets are sold through Ticketmaster . Tickets were first sold through a pre-sale from Tuesday, April 30 at 12 p.m. ET to Friday, May 3 at 11 a.m. ET. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Ticketmaster starting on Friday, May 3 at 12 p.m. ET. Historically, Billie Eilish tickets are snapped up pretty quickly, so fans will want to be waiting in the queue as soon as the sale starts.

Listings for Eilish's shows through resale websites like StubHub and Vivid Seats popped up before the pre-sale even started. People are welcome to browse those sites as well, although resale tickets come with some stipulations for Eilish's tour.

For the "Hit Me Hard and Soft" world tour, tickets on many dates are not eligible for transfer outside the official Ticketmaster Face Value Exchange program. States like New York, Illinois, Colorado, Virginia, Utah, and Connecticut have laws that don't limit ticket resale, so people can purchase tickets through resale websites for concerts in those regions. For shows outside those states, you'll probably want to stick with buying from the Ticketmaster Face Value Exchange if you cannot get your hands on original standard tickets during the initial sale.

Below are the cheapest starting prices on StubHub and Vivid Seats for Eilish's tour stops in states where ticket transfer is eligible, including her three Madison Square Garden shows.

Billie Eilish schedule

UC College-Conservatory of Music alumnus François López-Ferrer (BM Composition, ‘12) is the recipient of the prestigious Sir Georg Solti Conducting Award, awarded annually to a promising American conductor 36 years of age or younger. One of the largest grant awards of its kind, it provides essential career guidance, industry connections and a cash award of $30,000 to aid recipients as they further hone the skills of their craft.

"In a very competitive field of applicants, François stood out amongst this year’s highly qualified applicants," said Penny Van Horn, the Solti Foundation U.S. Board Chair. "A shining example of hard work, talent and commitment to the field of symphonic and operatic music, I am pleased, on behalf of the Foundation, to congratulate François.”

“François has much to say musically,” said Elizabeth Buccheri, Solti Foundation Artistic and Awards Committee Chair. “He continues to strengthen his communication and storytelling skills with both the orchestra and audience with every performance. We are excited to watch as his career in the operatic and orchestral fields grows. Congratulations!”

“I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the great honor of receiving the Sir Georg Solti Conducting Award," López-Ferrer said. "Over the course of the last three years, the unwavering support of the Solti Foundation U.S. has played a pivotal role in shaping my artistic journey, facilitated the refinement of my craft, and enabled me to evolve as an artist. This award stands as a testament to Maestro Solti’s enduring legacy of musical excellence, serving as a powerful reminder of the heights of achievement to which we can aspire as the next generation of musical leaders. This recognition profoundly inspires me to further cultivate my artistic vision and commitment to breathing life into the timeless masterpieces of the past while championing the voices of the present and future. I am profoundly moved and deeply grateful for the opportunity to continue my artistic journey with passion and dedication. I extend my heartfelt thanks to the Solti Foundation U.S. for their invaluable support and belief in my potential.”

López-Ferrer returns to Cincinnati on May 25, to conduct the May Festival Chorus and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra in Julia Wolfe's Her Story and Gabriel Fauré's Requiem; learn more .

Previous recipients of the Sir Georg Solti Conducting Award include Keitaro Harada, Earl Lee, Gemma New, Aram Demirjian, Yaniv Dinur, Roderick Cox, Christopher Allen (MM Orchestral Conducting, '11), Karina Canellakis, Vladimir Kulenovic, Cristian Macelaru, James Feddeck, Case Scaglione, Eric Nielsen, and Anthony Barrese.

The Foundation has diligently helped American conductors in the early stages of their careers for over two decades. Recipients of the Sir Georg Solti Conducting Award may use the financial portion of the grant in various ways to specifically advance his/her career, whether it be further studies, language study, purchases of scores, or travel. The Foundation’s Board of Directors comprises experts from all areas of the classical music industry, and therefore the Award also brings door-opening introductions within the industry and valuable access to professional mentors; learn more .

Past guest engagements include such prestigious US orchestras as the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Rochester, Colorado Springs, and Sacramento Philharmonics, the Omaha, Tucson, Pasadena, and Ohio Valley Symphonies, and the Colorado Music Festival.
