If you’ve been on TikTok at all, you are probably well aware of the hype surrounding the Béis Weekender , a thoughtfully designed travel bag meant to meet all your globe-trotting needs — for $98.

As is often the case with relatively expensive viral sensations, the internet found a way to deliver affordable alternatives that are loved and adored by the masses. In this case, the original has been most famously replicated by Sam’s Club and the Minkars brand on Amazon , both of which have completely sold out.

But before you get travel bag FOMO, you can still shop another popular and convincing lookalike on Amazon for less than half the cost of the luxury version.

One of the defining features of the Béis is the generous bottom zippered compartment meant to keep soiled clothing or shoes separate from the rest of the interior. This Amazon version from Etronik promises that same vented bottom compartment along with other signature features of the original, such as a trolley strap, an interior laptop pocket and three separate interior pockets for even more organizing potential.

There are also some differences and unique additions to the Amazon duffle, most notably a USB port that can be used to connect an external travel battery and your electronic device so you can charge up your phone without having to open up the bag and dig around for a charger. There are also two slip-in side pockets for storing a water bottle or umbrella, and a separate zippered cosmetics pouch also comes with the bag.

Although both options are made with a water-resistant material, the Etronik bag has less structured, softer sides compared the Béis, which is one thing to take into consideration.

Reviewers claim they love this bag for use as a travel carry-on, for taking short weekend trips and as a hospital bag or gym duffle. And for just a little over $33, you really can’t go wrong.

I bought a TikTok-viral travel backpack for a recent trip. For less than $40, it's the perfect carry-on bag.

• Earlier this year, I kept seeing TikTok videos for a backpack that was said to be perfect for travel.
• I finally caved and bought the bag on Amazon for $34. 
• It has its limitations, but it does make a great carry-on for a shorter trip.

TikTok has a special way of feeding you videos about products you probably don't need, but that might come in handy someday.

That was the case earlier this summer when I continuously saw videos about a backpack that influencers claimed was a travel "must-have." Videos of the bag, often posted with the hashtag #ViralTravelBackpack , have raked in 137 million views as of Monday.

A video posted on May 26 solidified my decision to buy the bag. In the video, TikToker @bmekween said she "cannot go on a trip without this bag," and gave a tour of the backpack's features. The TikTok has 4.3 million views as of Monday.

In June, with a trip to Paris coming up later that month . And while it ended up being too small to bring on my trip to Europe, I've used it on several smaller trips since — and have found it really is a great carry-on bag for short trips. Here's why.

Several Amazon vendors sell a version of the bag, and most of them are less than $50.

I bought my bag — called the " carry on backpack " — from the brand VGCUB, but dozens of brands sell a version of the backpack on Amazon.

When I bought it in June, I paid $34.99, but the backpack goes on sale regularly. As of Monday, the cream-colored bag was on sale for $26.99, and there are plenty of colors to choose from.

The most important feature is the bag fits under an airplane seat or in the overhead compartment.

Coming in at about 12 inches wide and 17 inches long, the bag can fit under airplane seats without a problem.

Even if it were too big to fit snugly under the seat, it would easily fit into the overhead compartment, making it a solid carry-on bag for airplane trips.

Because I had lots of stuff to pack for my trip to Paris, I found the bag too small for an international trip.

The weather during my trip would oscillate between sunny and rainy, so I wanted to pack enough clothes for both circumstances.

Plus, I had a lot of different events going on — from a work dinner to wandering around Versailles for a day — so I needed appropriate shoes and clothes for each. When I packed a few different pairs of shoes, rain jackets, and work attire, the bag was too full to zip.

While I didn't end up using it for a longer trip, it's worked well for weekend excursions.

I used the bag for several road trips over the summer when I didn't have much to pack. 

The bag can fit a pair of shoes and two outfits without packing cubes , just enough for a weekend trip. Using packing cubes, you can squeeze in a few more outfits. 

One thing I don't love is how small the water bottle pocket is.

I like to travel with my 48-ounce Nalgene bottle , which unfortunately doesn't fit in the backpack's water bottle pouch.

Instead, I have to put the water bottle inside the backpack or travel with a smaller water bottle — my least favorite option, as I have to fill it up more often.

The bag has a host of handy pockets and compartments, including a specific place to put your shoes.

The bottom of the bag unzips to reveal a dedicated compartment to place your shoes in, though it's not separate from the rest of the backpack, so they'll still take up just as much space as they would if you were to put them directly in the main area.

The compartment is great if you're specifically worried about getting your clothes dirty with the shoes you've been traveling in. 

It also has an area that fits most 15-inch laptops and little pouches for small items and toiletries. 

It also has a port you can use to charge your phone if need be.

While I haven't used this feature yet, I do appreciate that it's there. You can charge your phone without holding the charger by putting a mobile charging block in the bag. 

Overall, the bag probably won't work for long trips, but it's great for a short getaway.

Unlike a regular backpack, this Amazon bag unzips fully — like a suitcase — making it easier to find and remove items without digging through the entire bag. 

With plenty of space for clothes and compartments for shoes and other items, the bag is the perfect carry-on for a weekend escape — but I wouldn't rely on it for long trips.

There once was a time when I praised the simplicity of a tote bag as a personal item on the plane. And though I’ll always cherish that sweet, wearable memento of my summer in Portugal, I’ve changed my tune a bit since becoming a packing cube convert. They also added a pair of sneakers to the designated shoe compartment (which one Amazon shopper noted can fit up to two pairs) and packed several clothing items (both in packing cubes and rolled on top) in the main compartment. 

Highlighting its other features, the TikToker slipped their iPad into the padded laptop compartment (which fits a 14-inch laptop) and stashed away tiny essentials in the discrete back pocket (perfect for passports, phone, wallets, keys, and other valuables) and easy-to-reach front pocket, which we'd use for things like our boarding pass, headphones, gum, and whatever else we'd need fast access to in-flight. 

What's more, it's equipped with memory foam straps for extra comfort and a pass-through sleeve that allows it to securely fasten over your luggage handle, which will come in handy when you're trying to breeze through the airport or need to be hands-free. 

But, in addition to its thoughtful features, TikTokers also love that the Vecave Travel Backpack 's 11.8-inch by 7.9-inch by 16.9-inch frame allows it to be considered a personal item on budget airlines like Spirit and Frontier. In a video by TikTok user @2wfhmomsview , she raved that the backpack was "able to fit everything I needed" during a recent flight and ended up helping her save money in the long run by not having to bring a carry-on suitcase. 

Listen, travel is stressful. Not the actual experiential part of seeing the world and trying new experiences; we live for that stuff. However, there are other companies on Amazon selling the same or very similar backpacks, which may also be part of the viral TikTok travel bag trend. For instance, Jordan Parker Erb at Insider tried out the VGCUB Carry on Backpack based on her research into TikTok's viral travel bag. 

What are the features of this viral TikTok travel bag? 

Now you know a little more about this viral TikTok travel bag, but what makes it special? It has a range of features that make it perfect for travel, including a range of handy compartments, a built-in charging port and straps to adjust the size. 

The coowoz Large Travel Backpack measures around 16.5 inches tall, 12.5 inches wide and 8 inches deep. While all airlines' baggage size rules vary, this meets the size requirements for a personal item with most airlines that fly in the U.S. And, where it doesn't meet these restrictions, it fits carry-on luggage restrictions, so you can put it in overhead storage rather than under the seat in front of you. 

Pockets and compartments

One of the major things that people rave about is this backpack's amazing array of pockets and compartments. The two front pockets are great for holding essentials you need easy access to, such as travel documents and masks. There are also other pockets within the main compartment to make organization easier. And, you can get peace of mind from the anti-theft zipper pocket on the rear of the bag — the part that sits against your back while you're wearing it. 

If you travel with a laptop or tablet, you'll be pleased that there's a padded laptop compartment in this viral TikTok travel bag. It can fit a laptop of up to 14 inches. Since it's so common to have plane tickets and accommodation booking confirmations on your phone these days, it's good to be able to easily keep it charged when traveling. 

Adjustable straps

Not only does the coowoz viral TikTok travel bag feature adjustable shoulder straps for comfort, it also has adjustable straps on the sides that can reduce the depth of the bag when pulled tight. If you've over-stuffed your bag to the point where it no longer fits under the seat in front of you, it's possible to tighten these straps and just squeeze it in.

We Tried The TikTok Famous Travel Backpack And It Makes It Painless To Pack Light

I tend to be a bit skeptical of products that go viral on TikTok -- and if I'm being honest, that makes me even more desperate to try them out for myself. TikTok trends are becoming a significant force that drives consumers, with TikTok influencers becoming modern-day tastemakers by offering (mostly) honest reviews of various products. When something catches on, its popularity skyrockets. Some products fade quickly out of the limelight, while others, like the viral TikTok travel backpack, remain popular for months and even years.

The famous travel backpack is available from multiple sellers on Amazon in slightly different styles and variations that all share a few key characteristics, including spaciousness, affordability, and many pockets for all of your travel necessities. TikTok influencers claim the bag is the ultimate travel must-have and can fit enough for a long weekend getaway. Furthermore, the backpack may allow travelers to skirt carry-on bag fees, since it fits within the personal item size requirements.

As a frequent traveler who hates checking bags, I was excited to try this viral TikTok backpack and find out if it lives up to the hype. As it turns out, I'm pretty impressed, especially considering the price point. But I wondered if this large pack would make it past budget airlines' hidden fees for carry-on bags when fully packed. Considering how much I was able to fit inside, I feel that I could use it as my only piece of luggage for most trips.

The Internet's Most Famous Backpack

If you search "TikTok travel backpack" on Amazon, you'll see multiple results from different sellers offering their variation of the rectangular-shaped pack. I wasn't sure which brand created the "original" Tiktok backpack, so I purchased the bestseller. My backpack is from a brand called Coowoz , which has nearly 11,000 5-star ratings on Amazon. I chose the extra-large size, which cost $43.99 at the time of purchase and arrived the next day. The price of these bags fluctuates a little, depending on what color you choose.

The bag comes in a multitude of color options. I chose a lovely muted color called Lotus Pink. My first impression when I opened the bag is that it felt sturdy and well-made. I'm not a huge fan of the polyester fabric, but it does seem durable and easy to spot clean. The description claims the bag is waterproof, but I would argue that it is more water-resistant. When I sprayed it with water, it didn't absorb immediately into the fabric, but the zippers aren't waterproof. I wouldn't take it whitewater rafting, but I'd trust it to keep my laptop dry during a light rain.

I was very impressed with the size, shape, spaciousness, and storage compartments. The main compartment opens like a carry-on suitcase and can fit nearly as much, and the bottom opens into a separate compartment to store a pair of shoes. I counted nine additional storage pockets for storage and organization. It's an ideal choice when you're  packing light. 

Packing The Bag

If you're considering using this bag as a personal item, you'll be happy that many TikTok reviewers reported they could take it fully packed on their flight without paying for it as a carry-on. In my experience, Frontier Airlines has a strict carry-on bag policy. When empty, this bag meets Frontier's personal item dimension requirements, which require that your bag is 14" tall, 18" wide, and 8" long. The extra-large bag I ordered measures 14.17" tall, 17.72" wide, and 7.87" long. I was shocked by how much I could fit inside. I could easily use this bag to pack for a long weekend getaway or make it work for a week-long trip, especially  when you use efficient packing cubes.   

Inside the main compartment, I packed five dresses, yoga pants, a tank, a long-sleeve shirt, a fleece pullover, a sleep shirt, a bralette, five pairs of underwear, and my favorite wide-leg blue jeans. Leather tennis shoes fit comfortably in the shoe compartment. The front compartment is waterproof, perfect for packing toiletries and cosmetics. In the back of the bag, I used the spacious laptop sleeve to store my Macbook, power cords, journal, and a novel. The secret compartment in the back of the bag stowed my passport and emergency credit card, while the front pockets provided an excellent place for my headphones, cell phone, and some snacks. A sleeve allows it to attach to a rolling carry-on. If you're looking for a budget-friendly backpack for your next vacation, the viral TikTok bag is worth trying.

An American Airlines flight attendant is sharing six passenger “green flags,” which are positive actions that can help make a plane ride smooth.

“I feel like I say a lot about, like, the negative experiences that I have with passengers, but some of y’all are really cool,” Destanie Armstrong extolled in a trending TikTok last week.

Armstrong said she appreciates when flyers greet her as they board; when they’re considerate about overhead bin space; when they quickly give their beverage order; when they ask permission to be in the galley, where food and drinks are prepared; when they have good manners; and when they avoid flirting if they’re married.

Greeting the flight attendant

“We always say, like, ‘Good morning and welcome,'” Armstrong explained. “A lot of people will just ignore us. I love when a passenger asks how we’re doing or, like, stuff about our day.”

Acceptable questions include: Are you on a trip? Are you going to have a layover?

“It feels like I’m actually connecting with people,” Armstrong reasoned. “I thought with this job that I would connect with people a lot more.”

Making room in the overhead bin

Placing your bag in the overhead bin in such a way that makes room for other passengers’ luggage is what Armstrong considers a “little considerate act.”

“It really sucks for the people that come on last — they have to check their bag because the overhead bin space isn’t utilized properly,” she noted. “So I love when people are just considerate and help us out a little bit.”

Giving a drink order in a timely manner

When flight attendants come around to collect drink orders, be sure to take out your Airpods or pull down your headphones — and be prepared.

“The people that are just, like, I walk up and they’re like, ‘I’d like a ginger ale, please’ — they make our life so easy,” Armstrong praised. “Or just knowing what you want in general, like, ‘I would like a coffee with three creams and three sugars’ because when we have to do beverage service really fast, we’re serving like 200 people and there’s going to be at least five people that say, ‘What do you have?’ and you have to explain everything.”

Asking to be in the galley

Be sure to respect flight attendants’ workspaces.

“You’ll be shocked at how many people would just walk in [the galley], don’t acknowledge us, will stand there without saying anything to us, or start stretching on our emergency exits. I’m like, ‘Ma’am, please stop doing Pilates on our emergency exits,’ and then they get mad,” Armstrong recalled.

“But there’ll be times where people are like, ‘Hey, my legs are hurting, do you mind if I stretch back here for a couple minutes?’ I’m like, ‘100%, thank you for asking.’ Or if someone’s waiting for the bathroom, they’re like, ‘Hey, do you mind if I stand here?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, of course.'”

Having good manners

Good manners, especially exhibited by kids, go a long way in Armstrong’s book.

“Especially the bratty ages — like if a 10-year-old is like super sweet, I’m like, good job parents,” Armstrong gushed. “There are so many bratty kids these days that are like, ‘I want a Sprite.’ The parents are like, ‘Yeah, he’ll take a Sprite, and we’ll take a Coke.’ And I’m like, ‘OK, please. Thank you. Hello.’ When kids are well-mannered, I’m literally like, I think I do want kids.”

Not flirting if they are married men

If you’re wearing a wedding ring, you’re not going to land Armstrong’s affections .

“Lastly, I love when a married man is not too friendly with us. I have not been hit on many times working — the times that guys have tried to chat me up, they’ve always had a ring on their finger, which literally makes me so upset,” Armstrong recounted.

“Complimenting me or asking if I’m gonna be laying over in the same place that they’re gonna be laying over, what I’m gonna be doing on my layover, which that’s not bad, but it’s the vibes,” she declared.

Carry-ons should have an easy access tech compartment.

If you decide to bring electronics like a laptop , iPad , Kindle or other tablet on board, your carry-on should ideally have a separate, padded compartment for secure packing. Be sure these compartments are easily accessible, since at security checkpoints, the TSA will require you to remove your electronic devices and place them in the plastic X-ray tray.

Make sure you're carry-on is comfortable on your back or shoulder

Remember, you'll need to lug your carry-on bag or suitcase across the airport and down long corridors, and you might even need to run with it so you don't miss your connection. Consider whether you need padded handles or cushioned straps or a backpack or a rolling suitcase for ease.

• Keep most of your valuables in your carry-on luggage, and store them in side compartments or safely padded around other items.
• Place valuables at the bottom of your bag, away from the opening.
• Keep your wallet, credit cards and cash in an inner pocket so they'll be harder to steal.
• Pack a small, separate bag for toiletries. (Liquids, gels and aerosols packed in carry-on must follow the  3-1-1 liquids rule : 3.4 ounces or less per container; all liquids must fit in one quart size, clear, plastic, zip-top bag; one bag per passenger.)
• Roll your clothes tightly to save space in your luggage. 

Sometimes you lose your luggage. It happens. Though it's frustrating, it's important to pack a spare set of clothes (including socks and underwear!) in your carry-on to hold you over until your bags are found and returned. Pack clothing that can easily be rolled up and put in the bottom of your bag.

• Valuables like jewelry, wallets, passports, IDs and boarding passes
• Cameras and smartphones
• Entertainment like tablets, books and laptops
• Headphones to watch TV or movies if a longer flight

• Printed itinerary, or hotel and flight confirmations

I did it. I caved on October Prime Day and bought myself this Kindle Paperwhite, and boy am I glad I did. This Google Flights Hack from TikTok Finds Cheap Airline Tickets to Any Destination

A TikTok user, who goes by 'Around the Atlas,' went viral last week after discovering a Google Flights hack that finds affordable airline tickets

One TikTok user seemingly cracked the code for finding cheap flights .

Last week, travel influencer @AroundTheAtlas posted a video , which has garnered over 4 million views, that featured a search hack for air travel.

"Did I just unlock a cheat code or did everyone know about this?” she wrote over the start of the post. In the clip, she recorded her screen to let followers in on her discovery.

She navigated to Google Flights and typed her departure city, London, into the box that read “Where from?” In the “Where to?” box, instead of adding her desired destination, she typed “Anywhere.” And instead of adding desired trip dates, she left them blank.

From there, she was able to look at a map, to choose where that “anywhere” might be. She hovered over Barcelona, commenting that roundtrip flight is priced at £26 (or about $31.74 USD). Meanwhile, she noted, a roundtrip flight from London to New York City is cheaper than it would normally be, priced at £336 (or about $410.51 USD).

While prices only apply to certain dates, the creator said it could be helpful with booking travel if the exact timing isn’t important.

“Does anyone else know about this? Because I feel like the world is gatekeeping how insane this is,” she added.

Users in the comments were excited by the finding.

“THANK YOU me and my mum want to go on a holiday somewhere but flights are just too expensive this is soo helpful,” one person wrote, while another added, “I travel a lot and always use Google Flights… didn’t know this 'to anywhere' though… thanks."

Some commenters noted that the discounts generally apply to "cheaper" airlines, flights with long layovers or departures at undesirable hours. 

Regardless, TikTok loves a good travel hack. Last month, a video from a Southern California's Ontario International Airport employee went viral, which reminded travelers to remove old airline stickers from their luggage . Evidently, sometimes suitcases get lost because the wrong sticker scans and the bag is sent to the wrong airline.

“Let's say you flew American [Airlines], and then a month later you flew Southwest," the airline worker explained in the video. 

“Well, there's a little sticker that goes on for American [Airlines] that tells the computer that it should go to there… so if your month-old American sticker is on there, there's a chance it scans it instead of this one. It just depends how it's clocked and where the stuff is. It might end up over there and not get on the plane," he added.

A flight attendant has revealed how to bag a first class upgrade - and she claims there's a '99 per cent' success rate to her method.

We all hope that one day we manage to luck out and end up in first class , but if there's anything we can do to up the chances, then we're all ears.

However, TikToker @cierra_mistt explained that there are two methods you can try.

While you might think that choosing a seat on the back row of the plane is the worst idea ever, Cierra explains that choosing one of these spots could mean you have a better chance of being upgraded.

She said: "One thing the airlines don't want you to know is that for the majority of flights, we have to move people for weight and balance purposes.

"When we move people all the way up to the front it's not just because we are being nice, but normally if our flight is full we have to move people."

She explained that the crew will often move passengers from the back - starting from the furthest row - to the front.

"If that's the case, the flight attendants are going to choose the people in the very last row to go up front, because then they can sit down there after doing their service," she said.

When it comes to the second method, Cierra says it has a '99 per cent success rate'.

First off, she recommends listening out to find out if your flight is full.

If this is the case, the attendant on the gate will often ask for volunteers to switch flights.

Often, there'll be freebies or discounts in return - but Cierra advises not accepting these.

Instead, she recommends: "First go to the gate agent, second give them a price and say that you want that in cash.

"When the gate agent is rebooking you for that next flight, make sure that they put you in first class to compensate for the time that you're losing."

Other TikTokers were quick to comment on her tips, with one person writing: "That last row one happened to me before."

While another said: "I’d rather not fly than sit in the back."

And a third added: "I picked the last seats for a trip to Amsterdam and was moved to business class and had 4 seats to myself…both ways!!"
