2022 Super Lite Truck Campers

Truck camper in the snow

Experienced truck camper enthusiasts appreciate the lightweight and natural characteristics, as well as the durability of the Super Lite Truck Campers by Travel Lite RV.

Our solid wood construction compared to the one-inch foam and glue composite walls being assembled by our competition is much stronger. Foam and glue manufacturing may add speed to an assembly line and cost less to produce, but wood offers the best solution for strength, durability, weight savings, and ease of repair. Because we choose to use the best products, our customers can take any trail knowing that their Travel Lite will withstand the abuse.

DLR, London

The Docklands Light Railway (DLR) operates routes from Bank in the City to Lewisham in east London and Bank to Woolwich Arsenal. In addition, there are further routes from Tower Gateway to Beckton, Stratford to Lewisham or Canary Wharf and Stratford International to Woolwich Arsenal. The first DLR line began in 1987 but has been extended several times since then. The DLR currently has 45 stations on 38 km of track. The trains are automated with no drivers or cabs. Altogether around 400,000 journeys are made each weekday on the network. Thus, the DLR is the busiest light rail system in the UK.

Docklands Light Railway (DLR), London, UK.

The DLR was part of the redevelopment of London's Docklands in the 1980s. The initial line was built over previous rail infrastructure between 1987-1990 and comprised 13 km of track with 15 stations.

Trains operated from Tower Gateway (near Tower Hill tube station and the  Tower of London ) to Island Gardens on the Isle of Dogs and from Stratford to Island Gardens. Stations were unstaffed and above ground.

As London Docklands began to develop as a major financial center around Canary Wharf , the DLR began to expand to meet increased demand.

To connect Canary Wharf to the City of London the line was extended west to Bank underground station in 1991. Canary Wharf DLR Station was also greatly modernized and enlarged. The line also extended eastwards from Poplar via Canning Town to the Royal Docks.

The next extension was south under the River Thames to Greenwich and Lewisham. Among the new stations built was Cutty Sark, close to the famous tea clipper , now a floating museum and Deptford Bridge, convenient for Lewisham College and Deptford market.

In 2005 the DLR expanded again with a line from Canning Town to London City Airport and King George V Station. The extension roughly followed the former tracks of the Eastern Counties and Thames Junction Railway. In 2009, this line extended again to Woolwich Arsenal.

The DLR also runs now along parts of the North London Line to Stratford International where it is adjacent to the mainline station and convenient for Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Trains now have three carriages as opposed to the first trains which had just a single carriage. Carriages have four doors.

Terminuses & Intersecting Stations

The main terminal stations are Bank and Tower Gateway in the west, Stratford International and Stratford in the north, Becton and Woolwich Arsenal in the east and Lewisham in the south.

The main intersections are Bank for the London Underground and Stratford, Stratford International, Lewisham, Woolwich Arsenal, Limehouse, Greenwich and West Ham all for mainline rail stations.

Public Transportation and Metro Rail Information

Docklands Light Railway (DLR London)

The Docklands Light Railway (DLR) is a transport network established in 1987 to facilitate the revitalised dock area of London. Providing connections from Docklands and Stratford in the north, Lewisham in the south, Tower Gateway and London’s financial center in the west, and extending east to Beckton, London Airport, and Woolwich Arsenal, the DLR is an integral part of London’s transport infrastructure.

The Docklands Light Railway (DLR) is an elevated light rail system serving the redeveloped Docklands area of London. The DLR accommodates approximately 278,100 passengers per day. The fare details for this metro are not specified.

While the DLR doesn’t operate 24/7, its specific operation hours are not provided here (referred to as “SCHEDULE”). The DLR does, however, feature driverless trains, a feature it has maintained since its inception in 1987. Passengers are allowed to walk between platforms. No information is provided on whether the trains or platforms have air conditioning or screen doors, respectively.

The average speed of DLR trains is 80 km/h, with a maximum speed of 100 km/h. The system is operated by KeolisAmey Docklands Ltd. For more detailed information, you can visit the DLR London Metro Official Website .

Overview: Docklands Light Railway in London

The London Docklands, located east of London and within the districts of Greenwich, Tower Hamlets, and Southwark, is a bustling commercial and residential area in the Port of London. The DLR, often considered as a single line with multiple segments, boasts 45 stations across a 31-km stretch and services over 110 million passengers annually.

History of Docklands Light Railway

In 1981, the London government established the London Docklands Development Corporation (LDDC) to revamp the London docks (Docklands). The London Docklands Project was set up to transform the neighbourhood into a denser area with an increased number of buildings and corporate offices.

A cost-effective transport solution was necessary during this time. Thus, London Transport embarked on exploring options for light rail, culminating in the creation of the Docklands Light Railway.

The DLR’s establishment sparked interest from private companies due to its ability to transport passengers to key areas of the Greater London region within minutes. Serco Docklands operated the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) for 17 years following its opening in August 1987, before handing over management to KeolisAmey Docklands, appointed by Transport for London.
