Here’s what guitarist Alex Wade had to say about Live In The Valley : “ We decided to record the audio from our 7th annual hometown Christmas benefit show in 2022 where we played a mixed set from our albums ‘The Valley’ and ‘Kin’. We thought this would be a good way to close the chapter on these albums before we start recording our 9th album. The audio was recorded, engineered, mixed and mastered by our very own Zach Householder and we are excited about the way that it turned out. Along with the audio we shot 2 live videos to accompany the live album release .”

About the band: At this stage in the game, the name Whitechapel commands respect. Already sitting on one of the most enviable catalogs in contemporary metal, in 2019 they dropped The Valley , showcasing a confident evolution in their sound and standing as a true landmark release that sets a new standard for the genre. “ To me, it was like the stars aligning for us to create our almost perfect record in regard to songwriting, vocal performance, the mix and master, and the artwork ,” says guitarist Alex Wade. “ We like to look at our albums as chapters of our career, and that is one chapter I will never forget. I think it really solidified that we can embrace a new sound, and if we execute it properly, then the fanbase is going to support and enjoy it .” In 2021, they return with that album’s successor, the mighty Kin , which is an even more dynamic and diverse collection, further advancing the band’s sound into new territory without losing sight of what brought them to this point. “ I feel with every album, we learn what worked best on the last one and try to utilize that in our writing. Early in the writing, there was some discussion of the album being like ‘The Valley’ part II, not literally called that, but in how the songs sound and flow through it. It’s very much a storytelling type record like ‘The Valley’ was ,” adds vocalist Phil Bozeman, “ Musically, we just want to create what we vibe with at the given moment. We write music with how we feel and not what is expected of us, while lyrically the idea of continuing from the story of ‘The Valley’ was always the goal .”
“ For a generation of fans, Whitechapel are the most legitimately brutal band of the deathcore movement ” – Kerrang!
“ Their music attacks from the first track, and they draw you in, commanding your attention with their performance and presence. This is how I’ve always felt about Whitechapel ” – Metal Nation
“ Whitechapel has certainly become, in my opinion, one of the more unique metal bands still making music today ” – Metal Injection

Sept. 14 — Whitechapel debuted the video for the latest and last single from its 2021 album, Kin this week.
The band premiered the video for its two-part single, ‘ Without You/Without Us ‘ Wednesday. According to front man Phil Bozeman the song and video are the last from the album. It came more than five months after the band debuted its then latest single, ‘ I Will Find You .’
‘Without You/Without Us’ is a continuation and closure from ‘I Will Find You’ in regard to its story. Bozeman explained in a prepared statement when that single and video premiered, “I am being followed by my alternate reality/evil self. “It’s the part of me that can’t let go and will go to any heights to find the real me and pull me back into the dark past that I want to move on from.”
In the case of ‘Without You/Without Us’ Bozeman takes on that evil self and ultimately defeats it, overcoming those negative thoughts and feelings. The juxtaposition of the Tool-esque verses and the much heavier choruses in the song’s arrangement makes the simple video presentation so much more powerful, proving that less truly can be more.
‘Without You/Without Us’ is the fifth single from Kin . Along with the aforementioned ‘I Will Find You’ the album has also produced the singles, ‘ Anticure ,’ ‘ A Bloodsoaked Symphony ,‘ and ‘ Lost Boy .’
In other news, Whitechapel has announces an extensive series of tour dates that will take the group through the year’s end. The tour includes a performance next week at the annual Louder Than Life Festival, a run with Meshuggah and In Flames in November and December, a separate run with Thy Art Is Murder, Fit For An Autopsy, Spite and Godlike later this month and October, and a holiday show Dec. 22 in Knoxville, TN.

The record was mixed by David Castillo , mastered by Ted Jensen , and produced by Mark Lewis ( CANNIBAL CORPSE , THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER ). Exclaim crowned "The Valley" "the strongest release of [ WHITECHAPEL 's] career…" In a 9/10 review, Metal Injection championed "one of the most well-written metal albums I have heard in quite some time," furthering, "The interplay of the heavy and the melancholy is done beautifully." Added Consequence Of Sound , "Thanks to a unique blend of instrumentation, excellent vocal talent, and poetic lyricism, WHITECHAPEL 's 'The Valley' takes its place among the upper ranks of the band’s discography."

Take That fans spot band using cheeky trick to remember lyrics to their ‘worst song’ on tour
Share this with
Take That kicked off their 2024 world tour in Sheffield earlier this week and fans have spotted the way the trio remember their song lyrics on stage.
The veteran boyband, who formed in 1990 , began their first major tour in five years at the Steel City’s Utilita Arena, playing to a sell-out crowd of 13,000 people.
And when it came time to perform a song that’s over 30 years old now, some of the 13,000 fans in attendance noticed a clever but hilarious trick Gary Barlow , Mark Owen , and Howard Donald were using to remember the words.
The trio was singing I Found Heaven, from their 1992 album Take That & Party, when fans spotted a teleprompter spelling out the lyrics for them on stage.
It’s not one of Take That’s best-known singles – only charting at number 15 in the UK – and Gary, 53, himself has previously described the song as ‘f***ing awful’ and the group’s worst ‘by a huge margin’.
On the setlist, I Found Heaven was sandwiched between A Million Love Songs and Patience, with the group performing 29 of their hits for almost three hours.
However, fans were forgiving of the decision to use the teleprompter, with one saying that with ‘so many great hits’ that it would be hard to remember the words to all of them.
Some of Gary’s monologues between songs were also typed out on the prompter, with the Cheshire-born singer looking back at Take That’s beginnings in Manchester, describing the city as ‘the place to be’ in the 1980s and 1990s.
The Never Forget hitmakers originally split in 1996 after Robbie Williams left the group to go solo, but reformed without Robbie in 2006 and achieved great success with their comeback album Beautiful World.
Robbie, 50, re-joined the group shortly afterward, forming part of the line-up for their third comeback album Progress, but left once again in 2014, continuing to work with Gary on new music after his second departure.
In the 2010s, Robbie was soon followed out of the group by original member Jason Orange , who insisted there had been no arguments or disagreements between the remaining members.
Since then, Take That have continued working as a trio, releasing their latest album This Life in 2023 – this latest tour is in support of its unveiling last year.
The tour will last for 41 dates, visiting several cities in the UK and Ireland before jetting off to Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, Abu Dhabi, and New Zealand.
In preparation for the tour, Take That joined Lulu on-stage at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester to perform their hit single together, Relight My Fire, on the same day Lulu announced she would be retiring from live performances this summer.
The 1960s singer, who broke out with her top 10 hit Shout in 1967, said she would be performing at the Glastonbury Festival in June before calling time on her seven-decade career.
