Tours consist of a party member requesting Noctis' assistance with a particular task. They will not trigger unless all four regular party members are present in the party. Noctis' performance will decide his companion's reaction, but you will always gain 20 AP, except for Liege of the Lake which only awards the AP if successful. Tours are not repeatable, except that Liege of the Lake can be repeated as often as you like until it is completed successfully.

Stirred, Not Shaken

Noctis must stir a pot. Simply rotate along using WASD or your analog stick in a steady motion to stir the pot, and continue stirring the entire time. The taste of the dish will vary depending on how well you stirred it.

The Hallowed Hill of Hammerhead

Simply head to the marked spot (no, you can't call a Chocobo). When you get there, you'll enter dialog. For best results, choose "On a hike," "Oh, y'know," and "A view of Hammerhead." Regardless, you'll get 20 AP at this point and be able to return to your adventure.

Rise and Shine and Run

Gladiolus will challenge Noctis to a race on the beach. The easiest way to win is to use the stamina renewal trick (release and press the sprint button again as his Stamina runs out). Whatever the result, the tour concludes.

The Chopping Block

Your task is to cut up vegetables for Ignis. Simply tap the Attack button as fast as you can to chop.

Case of the Stolen Specs

You need to head to the marked area. There's a black Chocobo there; approach the tree when it's not watching, and stop moving when it is, and you'll be able to retrieve the glasses. (You'll receive prompts as you go; just follow them to succeed. Taking too long will force you to try again.) Once you have them, simply run away to complete the Tour.

Up Close and Personal

Your first task is to pick mushrooms (Prompto will point them out when you get close enough). After that, you need to head for the map marker near the pond. You'll then enter a mini-game. Once the Catoblepas is right over you, wait for Prompto to cue you, then strike your pose. Run away to the map marker and the Tour ends.

Strike a Pose

Simply follow Prompto to the pier and hold a pose when he asks.

A Flower for Iris

Head for the point marked. Once you approach the northern portion of the quest area, there'll be a scene.

( Note : After this Tour is completed, you can hand the flower to Iris for another scene.)

Liege of the Lake

Of all the Tours, this is the most difficult. You must successfully complete it in order to get the AP, but you can attempt it an infinite number of tries until you're successful.

Your goal is to catch the Liege of the Lake from The Vesperpool - East Bank Fishing Spot . Before actually attempting to haul in the sucker, you'll want the Tranquility Rod and either the Llymnaen (preferable) or Dragon Drain Reel, plus a fresh spool of Dragon's Beard Line and one of the Stinker: Great Malboro or Giant Needle 10,000: Gold Gigantuar Lures.

Once you have everything, save your progress manually near the Haven, then camp. Eating Kupoberry Cheesecake is strongly advised, assuming you got its recipe already, then accept the Tour.

To find the Liege, if your Fishing Level is 10, you can simply look for a large blue circle in the northeast corner, otherwise cast around until you find it (if anything other than the Liege bites, let it go by not pressing the hook button when prompted). Once you get the Liege on the line, be very careful to not reel when it's struggling (if you see it splashing around, that means it's struggling). A good rule of thumb, as always, is to never real when the Tension icon appears, regardless of color, nor when the Liege is changing direction. At the end of the day, this comes down to equipment and, most importantly, technique. Once you hook the fish the Tour ends and you'll get your AP. (Leaving the fishing interface fails the Tour, but you can return to the Haven to reaccept it.)

Tours Guide [Final Fantasy 15/FFXV]

August 30, 2017 Nicholas Archer Final Fantasy 15 / FFXV 0

This page contains a walkthrough and guide on Tours sidequests in Final Fantasy XV, including objectives and rewards obtained in the game.

Tours Guide

Final Fantasy XV is framed around four friends having a vacation. This is reflected in the the sidequest type, called a tour. These sidequests usually happen when they rest at certain camping sites. A party member will ask a favor at times, leading you to an adventure throughout the world of Eos.

Click here to go to our sidequests directory.

Case of the stolen specs (Petriche Haven)

This tour is concentrated in the middle of the Myrlwood. Your friend’s glasses were stolen, and you need to get them back.

  • Head to the waypoint marked on your map. A mini-game begins.
  • Sneak around and make your way to the tree without getting spotted while the chocobo is distracted by your bait.
  • Make sure you hold square to keep quiet until the chocobo starts eating again.

Liege of the Lake (Capitis Haven)

Gladio wants you to hook a legendary fish called the Liege of the Vesperpool.

  • Noctis’ fishing skill should be at level 10.
  • Make sure you have a Giant Needle 10,000  with a Gold Gigantuar lure.
  • You need sharp reflexes for this sidequest. Make sure you practice fishing so that this would be a breeze!
  • You should aim n the current swimming direction of the fish.

A Flower for Iris (Lambath Haven)

Gladio once again needs a favor. The old softie wants to find a flower for his sister.

  • This one is tricky. You’ll need to go to the northwest part of the area.
  • The flower is on a plateau high above you. There should be a cliff that
  • When you reach a ledge , Gladio will boost you up to the plateau above so that you could pick the flower.

The Chopping Block (Fallaughins Haven)

  • Press circle repeatedly as prompted. Ignis will praise you more as much as you press circle. And that’s about it.

Up Close and Personal (Pullmoor Haven)

Prompto wants to take a picture of you with a Catoblepas.

  • Go to the designated area. Look for mushrooms there.
  • Walk to the lake and wait for the Catoblepas to move close.
  • Strike a pose.
  • You can finish this quest by either running away or simply slaying the monster.
  • This unlocks the Vintage photo filter.

Stirred, not Shaken (Cotisse Haven)

Stir a dish by moving the left analog stick laterally or in circles.

  • Maintain a consistent pace without overdoing things.
  • Ignis’ reaction varies in accordance with your performance
  • You’ll get 20 AP at the end no matter your performance.

Strike a run pose! (Spelcray Haven)

Prompto wants you to be his photo model.

  • Head to the spot on the nearby  pier and pose for Prompto.

Rise and shine and Run (Lachyrte Haven)

Gladio wants to race you.

  • Head to the beach.
  • When the race starts, sprint consistently. To finish first, refresh your stamina.
  • You’ll get the AP reward whether you win or lose.

The Hallowed Hill of Hammerhead (Palmaugh Haven)

  • Head to the waypoint with Prompto.
  • Take a picture of Cindy and her garage.

Final Fantasy 15 guide, walkthrough and tips for the open-world's many quests and activities

Our complete story walkthrough and guide to the many activities in the long-awaited RPG.

Final Fantasy 15 (or Final Fantasy XV) has been a long time coming. Starting life as a spin-off in the Fabula Nova Crystallis series around a decade ago, a combination of scale, ambition and protracted development saw it morph into a fully-fledged entry in the series.

Whether you're a long-time Final Fantasy fan, or fresh to the series and RPGs in general, there's a lot that's new and unusual to take in at first.

Our Final Fantasy 15 walkthrough can help you navigate the huge open world and challenging dungeons, while this Final Fantasy 15 guide page provides tips on how to make the most of the game's many systems, and in the coming days, explain how to tick off the game's many side-activities and post-game challenges.

Final Fantasy 15 walkthrough

Final Fantasy 15 more or less spits you out into the open-world from the off, giving you plenty of distractions and side-activities. You can track it easily with the menu's Quest log that offers story objectives in red, side quests in blue, while smaller activities like tours are in green and monster hunts are in yellow.

You can dip into any of the above as you see fit, though it's well worth prioritising the story quests to begin with to open up the game world and raise your levels in a natural way.

Final Fantasy 15 tips for the game's many systems and activities

You can sprint indefinitely

Until you get the flying car Regalia Type F or a Chocobo , you'll be spending a lot of time on foot. While Noctis has a short stamina bar which means he gets out of breath easily after a quick sprint, you can circumvent this by using an infinite sprint trick that allows you to refill your sprint bar as soon as it depletes. It takes some timing and practice, but proves invaluable if you want to explore the world at a reasonable pace.

Learn how your car navigates the world

Navigating the three core regions of the world requires your trusty Regalia car, and it pays to know how it works. You'll need it to navigate the game's huge world, but it's a fairly linear affair, sticking to the game's highways and dirt roads rather than allowing you to go off the beaten track. You can, however, manually drive it from A to B if you wish, and stop at the side of the road to look at points of interest.

final fantasy 15 tours

These journeys take a while, and while we recommend taking in the sights as you drive somewhere first time, by visiting parking spaces you can then fast travel around without the lengthy journey first. On foot, you can also fast travel to your parked car and the last place you rested. Also, it's well worth visiting each mechanic at every outpost you visit to buy new decals, upgrades and most importantly, soundtracks from other Final Fantasy games to listen to as you drive.

Always visit every new restaurant and diner

When you arrive at a new area, speak to the local food vendors and select the 'Talk' option. It'll add out nearby points of interest on your map - places you can camp, quest givers, elemental magic sources, treasures and sources of natural ingredients - to help when exploring new locales. Even if there are multiple food vendors in an outpost or town, chat to them all, as they will add even more points of interest nearby.

Rest up and eat meals regularly

Before any dungeon or tough encounter, make sure you eat a meal or rest up at a campsite and have Ignis prepare you a status-boosting meal for the party. The game naturally nudges you in this direction when night falls, which is when more dangerous enemies (known as daemons) emerge, so if you want to make life easier, rest off the dark hours, get a good cooked meal and try again when it's light.

Sleeping is also when you tally up your earned EXP for the day, leveling you and putting you in the best shape you can be for the coming battle. If you're interested in logging your EXP only, then make sure you locate more luxurious accommodation - like a hotel - gives you more of a multiplier to make those EXP gains worthwhile. We discuss this and other ways to get experience in our EXP farming and sources page.

There are easy ways to get bonus AP

As well as experience, you also need to amass AP - or ability points - to unlock new skills in the Ascension ability tree. You can get AP in a number of ways, but it's best to unlock nodes in the ability tree that give you AP as a byproduct of doing common activities, such as driving, riding a Chocobo, or casting magic. You can see where to get more points in our Final Fantasy 15 AP sources and how to get AP fast page.

final fantasy 15 tours

Items are everywhere

As you play, you'll notice many sparkling pieces of light as you explore the world. These are items you can collect to sell, combine into recipes (your recipe list grows as you get more ingredients, so collect everything you see) or for crafting with Cid at Hammerhead, and it's worth grabbing everything you see. It's one of the best ways to get Gil - the game's currency - which you can read more about alongside other ways in our how to get Gil fast through farming and other sources page.

Combat is deeper than you think

Initially holding Square / X to dodge and Circle / B to attack while your team mates do their own thing feels a little straightforward for a Final Fantasy game, but there's a lot more to combat than it first appears, which will become evident when you come up against tougher adversaries. Learn to use Libra to scan for an enemy's weaknesses and you'll find out the elements and specific weapons they're weak - and strong - against, forcing you to tweak your arsenal on the fly.

Positioning is vital; make use of Warp Points around the arena to retreat and gain health and MP, before returning with powerful attacks (the further you are away, the more powerful the Warp Strike), and if you attack enemies from behind or return a block with a parry, any nearby teammates can follow up with a Link Strike. If you're struggling to keep up with the frantic pace of battle, then changing Combat to Wait rather than Active pauses the attention whenever you sit still, giving you time to focus on what to do next.

Don't worry about side-quests or Hunts too much

Apart from set moments in the story - which the game will tell you about in advance - you can break off and participate in side-activities pretty much whenever you please. While it's ideal to take part in side-quests and Hunts as you come across them - there are certain dungeons that will require a small bump in level in order for you to tackle them - you don't have to grind extensively to progress through the game's main story beats.

final fantasy 15 tours

So while it'll make life easier to accumulate AP, EXP and resources by exploring, don't feel guilty about leaving a huge list of quests hanging. Same applies to Fishing and other mini-games, too. It's worth noting that nothing is missable - they'll be waiting for you to come back to them - so feel free to mop them up later when you're more powerful. There's also a series of quests that open up when the story is over, so feel free to see the credits if you're towards the game's end, and come back later.

Ignore those locked doors at the end of dungeons (for now)

You have to come back to them much later as part of end-game content to take on some bonus challenges and bosses. We'll have more on end and post-game activities in the coming days, from how to access and complete them, so stay tuned.

Be on the look out for seasonal events and DLC

The game's first Timed Quest has recently gone live, tasking you to take on a hunt - a battle against 100 Cactuar and Slactuar targets - for a limited-time only for a series of rewards. The end date has yet to be revealed, but expect more of these to roll out in the coming weeks and months.

Before that, during January and February, we saw the Moogle Chocobo Carnival , introducing new mini-games, quests and exclusive items in a special version of Altissia. It's no longer playable, but hopefully players will have a second chance of visiting one day.

There is DLC for each party member - starting with Episode Gladious DLC , as well as hopefully other events to come, so keep your eyes peeled on new game updates.

Watch Kingsglaive and Brotherhood if you care about the story

Final Fantasy 15 centres around a long-standing conflict between two countries - Lucis, the last nation in possession of a powerful crystal, and Niflheim, an empire of warring factions who lost their own crystals over years of battle - but despite a day-one patch to address some absences in story-telling, the game generally does a pretty poor job about telling you about the state of the world's politics or the backstories of your party members.

If you can, it's worth watching Kingsglave: Final Fantasy XV, a feature-length CGI film which centres around the royal guard protecting the King of Lucis and explains what happens at the start of the game, as well as animated series Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV, which delves how Noctis got to meet Ignis, Gladiolus and Prompto. The former is on Blu-ray and digital download, while the later is free-to-watch on YouTube . While it's a shame to rely on transmedia to fill the gaps of the game's storytelling shortcomings, Final Fantasy fans will get a kick out of watching both.

2024 PGA Championship leaderboard: Collin Morikawa, Xander Schauffele top loaded list of contenders

Moving day lived up to its name saturday at the 106th pga championship.

Through 54 holes, the 2024 PGA Championship remains anyone's for the taking. A congested leaderboard filled with about as much star power as one could ask to see enters Sunday's final round at Valhalla Golf Club with some of the top golfers in the game jockeying for positioning attempting to win the second major championship of the season.

Leading the pack are a pair of American thoroughbreds; Collin Morikawa and Xander Schauffele are tied atop the leaderboard at 15 under. The two battled back and forth for most of Saturday's third round only to ultimately settle on the same score with matching birdies on the par-5 18th.

Schauffele will sleep on at least a share of the lead for the third straight night, mirroring his effort from Quail Hollow just a week ago. The Olympic gold medalist was unable to convert his edge into a trophy at the Wells Fargo Championship, but he will hope to have learned from his mistakes to fend off a worthy chasing pack as he seeks his first career major.

That pack obviously includes co-leader Morikawa, who has a chance to join rarified air with another major title. A victory Sunday would represent Morikawa's third career major triumph in just 18 such appearances; that would pull him past the likes of Justin Thomas, Jon Rahm and Scottie Scheffler, moving him alongside Jordan Spieth in terms of majors won.

Immediately behind the two men is the ever-electric Sahith Theegala at 14 under; he played alongside the two leaders in Saturday's final trio. After an uneasy start, Theegala scratched and clawed his way back into the mix thanks to six birdies across his final 10 holes.

The party doesn't stop there, though, as Shane Lowry joined the 62 club on Saturday with a record-tying performance to catapult his name into this championship at 13 under. He stands just two adrift alongside some of the heaviest hitters in the game: Viktor Hovland and Bryson DeChambeau.

Despite the low scores and despite the lack of traditional major championship conditions, Valhalla Golf Club has once again produced a high-quality major championship leaderboard. It's filled with full-time hitters only, and whoever emerges to claim the Wanamaker Trophy will undoubtedly be a deserving champion.

2024 PGA Championship leaderboard, Round 3

T1. Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa (-15): Both were rock steady for much of the afternoon until a late blink from Schauffele. After making an unlikely birdie on the par-3 14th, Schauffele grabbed a two-stroke lead and quickly made the biggest blunder of his tournament. Pulling his approach into 15 long and left, he ended up making six while Morikawa knocked in his 5-foot birdie bid to take the solo lead.

To Schauffele's credit, he punched back with birdies on the 17th and 18th to climb back into a share of the lead. Perhaps taking an early punch on Saturday (rather than Sunday) will prove to be beneficial as he will have his work cut out for him against Morikawa and the rest of the leaderboard. Morikawa, after an early bogey, played his final 16 holes in 5 under.

3. Sahith Theegala (-14): It did not look good early as Theegala made some poor mistakes with wedges in hand. He short-sided himself on No. 5 with a lob wedge leading to bogey and dropped another soon after. Unable to take advantage of the par-5 7th, Theegala's place in this championship was in jeopardy, but he roared back with vengeance. A back-nine 31 was highlighted by a chip-in on 15 when Schauffele slipped up.

T4. Bryson DeChambeau, Shane Lowry, Viktor Hovland (-13): Wow. What a bunch we have here! Lowry tied the major championship scoring record with his 62 by making just about everything on the greens. Hovland played a ho-hum bogey-free 66 and looks like the player that ran through the FedEx Cup Playoffs last year. Meanwhile, DeChambeau treaded water for most of the day and was buoyed by a chip-in eagle on the par-5 18th to get to 13 under and jump inside the top five. DeChambeau and Lowry have a chance to grab their second majors, while Hovland can make amends for last year's heartbreak where he went toe-to-toe with Brooks Koepka up until a double bogey on the 70th hole of the championship.

"I've got a good chance," DeChambeau said. "I'm not executing to the level that I know I can but playing well enough to give myself a chance, obviously. Got to keep strategizing around this golf course and putting the golf ball in the right areas and miss it in the right place and hit a bunch of greens out here. It's iron play. The key is iron play this week, and [I] haven't done my best but got up-and-down nicely. Man, I made a couple of clutch shots when I needed to."

T7. Justin Rose, Robert MacIntyre (-12) 9. Dean Burmester (-11)

T10. Justin Thomas, Tony Finau, Lee Hodges, Harris English, Austin Eckroat (-10): Thomas was seven off the pace at the 54-hole mark when he won his second PGA two years ago, but the mountain will be inherently steeper this time around given the names ahead of him. Thomas carded his second straight 67 thanks to some short-game heroics, and he enters the final round with an outside chance to claim his third Wanamaker Trophy just down the road from where he grew up. He ranks first in strokes gained tee to green and outside the top 65 in strokes gained putting.

"This week has exceeded all my expectations. It's been better. It's been more fun," Thomas said. "It's been more enjoyable than anything I really thought or could have imagined. I mean, I'm very, very excited for tomorrow, and it should be a lot of fun. But I'm pretty bummed that the week is almost over. Just enjoy tomorrow as much as I can and see what happens."

T15. Lucas Herbert, Keegan Bradley, Taylor Moore, Thomas Detry (-9)

T19. Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, Hideki Matsuyama, Tom Kim, Russell Henley (-8): An opening bogey put McIlroy behind the eight ball (literally, he was eight strokes back), but then, he caught fire in the middle portion of his round. Four birdies in a row from Nos. 7-10 catapulted the four-time major champion's name inside the top 10. This streak could have easily been extended with an 11-foot birdie look on No. 11, an 8-foot birdie look on No. 12 and another great chance on No. 13 ... but all three ultimately fell by the wayside. A bogey on the long 14th halted any momentum McIlroy had garnered and made it almost certain his decade-long major drought will leak into next month's U.S. Open.

T24. Scottie Scheffler, Matt Wallace, Ryo Hisatsune, Mark Hubbard (-7): There's a chance the adrenaline that carried Scheffler to his Friday 66 drained his fuel tank down to empty for Saturday's 73 . A double bogey on No. 2 was the result of poor shots, but the next three dropped shots were all due to poor club choices and course management. He misjudged the par-3 3rd by about a club leading to a 3-putt bogey and he made the peculiar decision to try to carve a driver into the short par-4 4th -- when his counterparts were hitting fairway woods – and paid the price with another bogey. The world No. 1 clawed back but by then the damage was done.

Bryson DeChambeau chips in for eagle on the 18th hole to get himself within one of the lead! It wasn't a pretty iron performance from DeChambeau today, but he will head into tomorrow with a real chance at claiming major No. 2. In the same group, Viktor Hovland two putts for birdie to finish at 13 under as well. This leaderboard is something.

WOW, what a swing on 15

Coming to the hole with a two-stroke lead, Xander Schauffele walks off the green now one behind. He makes a brutal double bogey from the middle of the fairway after his second found the long stuff. Before missing his putt for 5, Schauffele saw Sahith Theegala chip in for birdie to get to 13 under (where Schauffele stands). Oh, and by the way, we now have a new leader in Collin Morikawa who makes birdie to get to 14 under.

Justin Thomas posts 10 under

Man, he had a chance to get one more, but that is Justin Thomas's second straight 67. The local lad is five off the pace at the moment and will have to wait and see what the 54-hole deficit is as Xander Schauffele just rolled in a rare birdie on 14 to get to 15 under.
