Great time snorkeling with this crew! We saw a lot of fish and many sea turtles. My daughter loved jumping off the side of the boat over and over! Drinks were great too!

My husband and I had a wonderful time on the 2:30 Sunset Cruise. The guys sailing us out were super nice. It was beautiful on the water, and we even saw a turtle in the water! The Mai Tai drinks they had on board, were actually the best we had the entire trip. I would defiantly recommend this experience! P.S. you could get soaked...we did :-)

So much fun! One of the more affordable sunset cruises and 100% worth it. The workers on the boat were friendly and upbeat and did a great job of cultivating a fun vibe. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

This was a great experience. We went on the morning snorkel tour and had a fantastic time! The boat comes right to the beach at Waikiki. The people were fantastic!!! We saw 3 turtles and lots of fish at turtle canyon.

We did the Diamond Head Tour and had a great time. This is a 90 min tour with sails up. Captain and crew were great. Great views of Waikiki and Diamond Head from the boat. The Manu Kai is small enough that you really felt the waves and were really sailing. Crew were manning the sails but still had time to make sure you had mai tais. Overall a great time and highly recommend.

Well worth the money. Great crew, drinks included. Plenty of room on the boat. Friendly atmosphere. Bring a camera or iPhone, maybe a sweatshirt for after sunset. Expect to have a great time for $40.00. Definitely would go again.

We chose Manu Kai for the mid morning turtle snorkel at Turtle Canyon and had a terrific time. We saw plenty of turtles and fish and enjoyed the professional but casual, laid back vibe of the crew. Jess in particular was outstanding (with a background in marine biology). Post our snorkel we headed towards Diamond Head for a great view of the beach and were lucky enough to see dolphins at play. A great morning trip.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Guests receive a full refund with a 24-hour notice of cancellation. Full refunds are also issued in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

During the slower seasons and typically for the morning sails, tour cancellations can occur due to not meeting a minimum requirement of 6 booked guests. In these rare situations, guests are always given the option to rebook or refund. If you are concerned about your tour, please call with any questions.

Guests wishing to rebook or reschedule must give 24 hours’ notice. Contact us by phone directly to cancel or inquire about a cancellation. No-shows and guests cancelling within 24 hours of departure will be charged full price.

CHECK-IN POLICY

Check-in time for all tours is strictly 30 minutes prior to departure, with no exceptions. Failure to check in on time will result in loss of reservation.

Amazing sunset sail! Best way to see the sunset in Waikiki. Wasn't planning on taking this tour but ran into the captain on the beach, turned out to be a good choice.

I have been on many sailboats but I have to say my experience on Moana Sailing Charters was by far the best! Full-on privacy, not being with 40 other people on a sail made it so romantic for me and my fiance...

I would highly recommend doing this private charter during your stay in Honolulu! Sam and Nick were an awesome team and made this experience one we will remember! Not only did we see sea turtles but we saw several pods of dolphins right under our feet. This is much more relaxing than the lager group tour and they were able to accommodate for pregnant women and guest prone to sea sickness! If you are on the fence, just book it! You won’t be disappointed

Hands down the best catamaran experience my family and I have ever had! Captain Sam and Deckhand Nick were amazing!! The cost is a steal! Having an entire vessel to ourselves with great laughs between us and the captain and deckhand were great memories not to mention the unforgettable sunset and beautiful sea life we got to see. We will 1000% do this again and next time book a longer ride!

This was in fact amazing. My family of 5 had a private catamaran with 2 of the nicest guys. Captain was super friendly and then our snorkeling guide was awesome. Took us to see spinner dolphins, turtles, fish and even some eels. They really went above and beyond and made us feel so welcome. All gear was provided, the goggles and fins. It is bring your own food or drinks (they do have soda and water). After snorkeling they took us over by Diamond Head. One of the highlights of our trip. I highly recommend this.

Our multi generation family of 5 ranging in ages from 12 years to 74 years had a wonderful, life memorable experience. The crew were exceptional, very caring to all. Taking the time to know our needs and wishes for the cruise. They supported us in the water to come up close with the sea turtles and let the kids play their music as we sailed around. The whole time was centred on what our family wanted to see and do and nothing was too much trouble. I can not recommend this experience highly enough. This was our favorite experience during our two weeks in Hawaii. Great friendly crew, good lunch. The whole thing felt relaxed and lovely. We went snorkeling and we saw a turtle. This really made us happy. The pick up from the hotel was also very good.

If you are looking for a sunset cruise, this is the one to take! The crew exemplified the saying “Do what you love but call it work.” Their enthusiasm, friendliness, and love of the natural beauty surrounding us made this a truly memorable evening.

This was an amazing experience. Really, I can't say enough good things. The team worked together to give us a wonderful morning of both relaxation and fun. If your vacation budget only really allows you to do one thing, this should be it!!

A MUST-DO EXPERIENCE IN HAWAII!

I booked a last minute sunset whale watching cruise with North Shore, and I had a wonderful time. The captain and his second were both very nice, offering us drinks and lots of lore about the whales and the island. Despite the rains nearby, we stayed dry the whole time, and the captain guided us directly to a pair of Humpbacks that were feeding nearby. A nice additional touch was staying out on the water for an extra half-hour to catch the entire sunset, which was gorgeous. Highly recommended!

We had a great time and saw at least 8-10 whales including a young calf. The boat was well run and the crew were great. The hydrophone to listen to the whales was awesome! Highly recommend.

We had an amazing time with Captain Mark and Skye! Our family of 10, including an infant, went out on their catamaran. They were wonderful hosts, and super accommodating. We saw tons of dolphins, several whales and a couple of turtles. They were very engaging with our young adults and taught them how to spot the animals, making a wonderful and interactive tour. I would definitely recommend this company and will go again when we get the chance.

I would give North Shore Catamarans 10 stars if I could. Amazing cruise. A young whale breached several times near our boat. Then the mother breached and the youngster breached several more times. What an amazing sight! The boat was very stable & comfortable. The crew was delightful. We highly recommend North Shore Catamarans.

Unlike some of tours available on the south side of the island this tour does not put 200 people on a boat. The small boat held about 20 people and was the perfect size. I braved the nets and got splashed a bit by a few passing waves but it was loads of fun! February is peak whale season. We saw so many whales waving their fins and tails at us I lost count. We even got to see a a few break the water as they swam, and 1 even did a spiral flip for us. It was truly an amazing experience. The crew helped point out the whales in the distance, so we wouldn’t miss any. They were friendly and professional. I highly recommend the drive up to the North Shore! It was definitely worth it!

We went out at 0930 for a whale watching tour. Crew/staff was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We saw a bunch of whales, got to listen to them and swim in the deep ocean. We also saw some dolphins toward the end and spent a little extra time trying to get a better look. Photographer captured some great pics of whales and our group and sold them for a reasonable cost. Would choose this company again.

My daughter and I were on the whale watching tour. It was my daughter’s 3rd With this company. We have both been on tours and what I liked about this one. The captain and crew member were very nice. We did get to see a whale breaching and blowing, turtles and a shark. The crew also let us listen to the whales and it was so clear and amazing. Also when we were going into port the crew had a guest blow 3x into a HUGE Conch shell to let everyone now we were coming in. Lots of Fun!

This is a must do! It was great to be out at sea to view the island from a different perspective. Of course the sea life and the sun set was equally as great! Good job to the crew. They are very informative and friendly.

• Although the sea turtles are friendly, both the NOAA and DLNR guidelines state that you should stay at least 10 feet (3 meters) away from the Hawaiian green sea turtles both in and out of the water.
• What to bring: Reef-safe sunscreen and a towel are both needed. Guests should wear their swimsuit under their clothes, flip-fops or sandals, sunglasses and/or a hat for sun protection, and a hoodie or a light jacket is recommended to wear after you exit the water.
• There are several options to explore in the area either before or after your Waikiki turtle snorkel. Ala Moana Beach Park and Magic Island provide a serene and secure beach experience suitable for individuals of all ages. • The parking lot is located on the Diamond Head, or left, side of the harbor along slips A, B, and C. You are not allowed to park at the Kewalo Basin Beach Park parking located across from your check-in location as this parking is for park users only.

We had the best time ever with this snorkeling adventure. My husband doesn't really like snorkling but does it just for me. With our new personal snorkel gear and the fantastic friendly crew , he said this was the first ... time he enjoyed it. The weather was perfect and the turtles were amazing. We will definitely use Moana catamaran next time we come to Honolulu.

The Hawaii water is so clear! We got to see cute turtles and so many colorful fish.

The Best Private Tours on Oahu

Pearl Harbor is a bucket list experience for many travelers visiting Oahu. And while it is possible to see on your own, going with a guide can provide so much more insight into the events of the attack and the significance it had on WWII. 

This full-day Private Tour of Pearl Harbor includes transportation and admission to ALL the Pearl Harbor Museums, including the USS Arizona Memorial, USS Bowfin submarine, USS Missouri battleship, and Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum. But in addition to visiting Pearl Harbor, you’ll also drive by some iconic Honolulu sites on your way back to the hotel, like the ‘Iolani Palace, King Kamehameha I Statue, and the Punchbowl National Cemetery. 

As a private tour, your knowledgeable tour guide will be with you every step of the way to answer any questions you have about the war, Honolulu, or Hawaii in general! It’s a long day (10 hours), but it’s worth it to experience this part of Hawaiian and American history.

2. Private Cultural Catamaran Tour

If you want the cultural experience of a luau but the scenic beauty of a boat tour, then this Cultural Catamaran Tour is for you. As you set sail on a custom-built double-hulled canoe, you’ll get to hear Hawaiian stories, history, and ukulele music with singing while you sail along Oahu’s stunning Kona (leeward) coastline.

You’ll have the opportunity to participate in a few fun activities, like taro pounding and hula dancing. We did this tour a last year and can say that it was way more insightful and educational compared to a luau! This might be one of the most memorable private tours on Oahu that we’ve done.

Although the boat can only take 6 people, these trips are normally offered as small group tours.  If you prefer to enjoy the entire experience privately, boats can also be chartered just for your group (although they are still limited to 6 guests).

They offer four different sailing times – one in the morning, two in the afternoon, and one for sunset. The sunset cruise is wonderful, especially considering it includes dinner, music, and a sunset ‘oli (chant). Morning and afternoon are nice too but only include refreshments and pupus.

If you only have a limited amount of time on Oahu, then a Private Circle Island Tour is one of the best ways to see as much as possible. With a guide and driver with Hali’a Tours, you’ll be able to see the entire island, stopping at all the different beaches, landmarks, and sights that you want to see along the way. They currently offer half-day (6 hours), full-day (9 hours), and even long-day (12 hours) tours.

While there are recommended routes and sites to see, each tour can be fully customized to your interests. So, if you’d rather be in the mountains than on the beaches, or at botanical gardens rather than museums – just let them know! For a non-stop day of action and adventure, book this fully custom Private Adventure Tour of Oahu for your entire group. You get to decide how you want to spend the day, whether it’s snorkeling, hiking, cliff jumping, paddleboarding, kayaking, etc.! 

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel or rental and provide snorkel equipment, snacks, drinks, and goPro photography services (trust us – it’s a huge perk to have someone there to take photos of the activities along the way!).

Full-day tours are roughly 8 hours and start at 10 AM, while half-day tours start at 9 AM and last 4 hours. After submitting your activity requests, you’ll be contacted a few days before to confirm your exact itinerary.

The Ohana Surf Project is located right in the middle of Waikiki in San Souci State Park near Kapiolani Regional Park. They offer 1- or 2-hour Private Surfing Lessons for any experience level or surfing style.
