Sharing her motivation for signing up, she told the ITV programme: "I wanted to challenge myself and get back to work, get out of my comfort zone. And I just thought 'I'll just go for it', it seems like a lot of fun."

Joining Palmer on the ice will be former footballer John Fashanu, who said: "I'm so excited to be a part of Dancing On Ice. I don't think it'll come as a surprise to people that I'm very competitive - I am definitely in it to win it. And this may be one of the scariest things I've ever signed up for but I couldn't be more ready for the challenge."

The 60-year-old was part of the Wimbledon team that won the FA Cup final against Liverpool in 1988 and went on to co-host Gladiators after leaving football professionally.

Ekin-Su Culculoglu

After only entering the limelight earlier this year as the winner of ITV's hit dating show Love Island , Ekin-Su Culculoglu was the third celebrity contestant confirmed for Dancing On Ice. The 28-year-old Turkish actress, from Essex, won the eighth series of the programme alongside Italian business owner Davide Sanclimenti in the summer.

In a video revealing her participation, the TV star said: "I can't wait to get myself on the ice and skate. Stay tuned, and see you on the ice."

Nile Wilson

Mollie Gallagher

The Coronation Street actress, known for her role as Nina Lucas in the ITV soap, said she will be asking her co-stars who have previously competed on the show for "all the tips" she can get.

After the news was confirmed on Lorraine , Gallagher said: "I'm really excited. I've not really felt nervous, yet strangely being here today I am now feeling it a little bit."

She joins the ranks of fellow Coronation Street stars who have taken to the ice rink over the years including Samia Longchambon, Jane Danson and Sally Dynevor, who took part earlier this year.

Joey Essex

The reality TV personality, who rose to fame as part of The Only Way Is Essex , told ITV's This Morning: "I would love to win. I'm going to put all my energy into this. This stage in my life, I'm so ready for this."

Since stepping away from TOWIE in 2013, the 32-year-old has been a feature on many other reality TV shows, including I'm A Celeb Get Me Out Of Here!, Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, Celebrity MasterChef and Celebs Go Dating.

He also fronted two of his own shows, Educating Joey Essex, which was narrated by This Morning star Phillip Schofield and saw him interview political heavyweights, and Joey Essex: Grief And Me, a BBC documentary about him losing his mother at a young age.

The Vivienne

The Vivienne

The winner of the first series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK said being on the ITV show marks a "huge step forward for queer representation on TV". The drag artist, real name James Lee Williams, is also known for competing this year on an all-winners season of the RuPaul franchise in the US as the only contestant from the UK and starring in BBC Three show The Vivienne Takes On Hollywood in 2020.

The 30-year-old said: "I'm beyond excited to announce that I will be competing in Dancing On Ice in 2023! This is honestly a dream come true and I can't wait to start training on the ice."

Darren Harriott

Comedian Darren Harriott said he has "giant feet" and "can't skate". He said he is not very graceful and that his family have already made bets about whether he will fall during the first episode.

Carley Stenson

Carley Stenson

The 40-year-old, who starred in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks , was the ninth contestant announced for the ITV show.

The actress played Steph Cunningham in Hollyoaks between 2000 and 2011. More recently she played the role of Harriet Shelton in the BBC soap opera Doctors.

She has also starred in a variety of West End shows, including playing Elle Woods in Legally Blonde The Musical and Fantine in Les Miserables.

Michelle Heaton

Michelle Heaton

The former Liberty X star told Lorraine: "I'm so excited - I can't believe it. Me and the kids are such huge fans of the show in general."

Heaton was a member of the pop group, alongside original members Tony Lundon, Kevin Simm, Jessica Taylor and Kelli Young, that formed on 2001 ITV talent show Popstars.

She was also a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother in 2009 and a judge and mentor on the Irish music competition series You're A Star in the show's sixth and last series in 2007-2008.

Siva Kaneswaran

Siva Kaneswaran

The Wanted star was the 11th and final celebrity confirmed for the 2023 series.

The Dublin-born singer told Good Morning Britain he had been inspired to sign up for the programme by the actions of his late bandmate Tom Parker, who died in March aged 33 after being diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour.

"He taught me so much about life," said Kaneswaran. "He taught me to live life to the fullest and not be afraid. It is one of the reasons why I am doing this show."

When does Dancing on Ice 2023 start? Expected start date and how to get tickets

Itv says: 'eleven celebrities prepare to embark on the ultimate challenge as they take to the ice each week, skating live in a bid to impress both the panel and viewers at home'.

Dancing on Ice fans will be getting excited as the latest crop of contestants has been revealed – or some of them at least.

Each year, a selection of celebrities test their skills on the ice rink and take on a competition that has few comparisons.

But who will brave it this year? Here’s everything you need to know.

When is Dancing on Ice 2023?

We don’t have a set date yet for the return of Dancing on Ice 2023 but it will likely begin in January to bring some glitz and glamour to those dark winter evenings.

The 2022 series started on 16 January, 2022, so it seems likely it will be around about then.

It airs on ITV1 and last year episodes were on at around 7pm.

What can we expect from this series?

ITV says: “Eleven celebrities prepare to embark on the ultimate challenge as they take to the ice each week, skating live in a bid to impress both the panel and viewers at home.

Back for a sparkling new series, the greatest show on ice promises more glitz, glamour and show stopping performances as the celebrities brave it all to learn this dangerous discipline.

“But who has what it takes to master the skill and steps and lift the trophy at the end of the series?”

Biography - Dancing On Ice: The Live Tour

Dancing on ice: the live tour fan report: ratings and reviews, 36 reviews (ø 4.67), fantastic event.

Thought the whole event was terrific. So glad we managed to obtain tickets, especially as this will be the last tour. So sad there will no longer be any Dancing on Ice each year.

Enjoyable Show.......But

Although great fans of Torvill and Dean (having seen them twice before over the years), was a little disappointed as this was their Farewell Tour, was expecting more of a proper show than just the celebrities dancing with their professional partners (just like watching Dancing on Ice on t.v). Apart from the Swan routine which was beautiful, there wasnt any more routines by the professionals. Torvill and Deans previous shows have always included more professional dancers doing their own fabulous routines. There was a lot of video coverage on the large screens showing each celebrity before they came onto the ice which took up quite a bit of time. Unfortunately, as Gareth Gatess partner was ill and couldnt perform, he only came on once with another professional to do a short routine and sang a short song. The atmosphere in the Arena was great and the audience absolutely welcoming towards the ice skaters. The warm up guy was really good and got everyone on their feet and laughing. At the end of the show when Jane Torvill said that this was not Goodbye, but Goodnight, was surprised as was under the impression this was their last ever show. Hey ho! Still enjoyed the show very much despite the above comments.

Great event and very helpful staff

We were not disappointed with the show and it was everything we hoped it would be. T&D are national treasures and their Bolero performance was outstanding, me and my family found it very moving particularly as it will probably be one of the last occasions they will skate together. The celebrity and professional skaters were great and very entertaining. The staff at the venue went out of their way and were very helpful.

Where is Dancing on Ice filmed in 2023?

Dancing on Ice takes place in a specially constructed rink in RAF Bovingdon near Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire. The show has been filmed there since it returned from a three-year break in 2018.

The airfield is no stranger to TV and film, having played host in the past to blockbusters such as Rogue One (from the Star Wars franchise) as well as Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows. In addition, RAF Bovingdon is home to ITV's The Masked Singer.

Speaking about the set in the past, host Phillip Schofield said: "Yes it has ice in the centre of it and there is a competition but it will look and feel different. There is a new studio, Jayne [Torville] and Chris [Dean] are on the panel and that frees up our professional dancers to choreograph."

Prior to 2018, Dancing on Ice was filmed at the George Lucas Stage at Elstree Studios in Hertfordshire.

The skating continues on Dancing on Ice this weekend with the five remaining contestants returning to the ice for another chance to impress the Dancing on Ice judges .

Carley Stenson became the latest contestant to leave Dancing on Ice after finding herself in the skate-off with Siva Kaneswaran. Following the elimination, the ex-soap star revealed she dislocated her shoulder during her final performance on the ice.

Speaking about her time on the show, she said: "It just got harder. I'm gonna miss this man. I really enjoyed it, this is all a bit of a blur right now. But I enjoyed it, thank you so much."

The semi-final will air this Sunday 5th March, with the celebs competing for a place in the final, where one contestant will swoop the coveted glass trophy.

Current TV series contestants Kem Cetinay and Alex Beresford, as well as two-time Dancing On Ice champion Ray Quinn, will join the Dancing On Ice Live UK Tour, which kicks off in London on the 23 March 2018.

The celebrities join the previously confirmed live tour hosts Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, guest judge Denise Van Outen, and fellow skaters Jake Quickenden, Cheryl Baker and Max Evans.

It’s going to be amazing travelling around and meeting everyone who’s been enjoying the show and voting for me – I can’t wait!”

Kem will be joined by Good Morning Britain weatherman Alex Beresford. “I’m usually letting the British people know the bad news about the weather in their city, so I’m really looking forward to being able to travel around the country and hopefully give them something to smile about for a change,” he announces. “Skating for the huge arena audiences is going to be an incredible experience – bring it on!”

The pair, currently competing in the tenth series of the ITV show, will be joined by two-time champion Ray Quinn, who won back in 2009 as well as the All Star series in 2014. “This year’s show has been fantastic to watch, with some great talent emerging,” Ray says. “But the competitive side in me can’t wait to get back on the road, back on the ice and hopefully back at the top of the leaderboard!”
