When we took our seats in the front portion of the bus with a divider behind us, we had no idea the heater blower was below my seat. This was so loud I could only hear part of what the guide was saying. My husband had the aisle seat so had a bit of an advantage. Not sure how the driver was not aware of this and even though he was constantly looking in his mirror at the riders in front (including us), he either was oblivious or didn't care that my husband was repeating everything he said y to me. When we got off at the light house, we mentioned this to him and he turned it off and the temperature in the bus was just fine without it. Not sure why they would even have such a loud blower on a tour bus. Lastly, I am sure there is a lot of history and stories of the city the driver could have told instead of the time talking about his family and books he wrote. Felt a little self promoting. The only down fall for us is we did not do until toward the end of our trip. Would highly recommend to do as early in your trip to Portland as you can. The driver we had knew his way around the city and shared tips such as cheap parking which would have been a great thing to know early on. You could tell the driver was a long time citizen of the Portland area and enjoyed sharing his knowledge. The trolley was very clean and comfortable. This trip we had the land excursion booked and the water excursion booked. The day before our arrival we received a call letting us know that because of weather they were cancelling the boat going out. Bad weather can happen and we get it, problem was, we arrive the next day and the water is perfectly calm and other boats are out and about on the water. I asked the lady at the booth about it and her reply was "ya, I think we pulled the plug on that a bit early". Unfortunate, but what can you do. Well executed tour that shows you most of the areas attractions and tells you about the history and how people live here. No motion sickness. They sell have a bar and sell basic snacks.
