[UPDATED] "2023 KBS Music Bank Global Festival" Artist Lineup

The "2023 KBS Music Bank Global Festival" will be taking place this coming December in both Korea and Japan.

In place of KBS' annual "Gayo Daechukje," the " 2023 KBS Music Bank Global Festival " will be conducted this year, and the event is announced to be taking place in both Korea and Japan on 2 separate evenings. The event in Korea will be aired live, but the show in Japan will be pre-recorded. A lot of excitement is surrounding the event, especially fans are expecting mindblowing performances from the biggest artists in the industry. The event taking place in Korea will be hosted by RoWoon and Jang WonYoung , while the festivities in Japan will be hosted also by RoWoon, Go MinSi , and Lee YoungJi .

Sometimes, everything just makes sense, making you feel proud and the need to say "easy peasy".

So, how do you say this phrase in Korean? Let's find out!

ggeom e-ji / ggeom e-jyo

The difference between the ending of 'ji' and 'jyo' is dependent on who you're talking to. If you're with a group of close friends, you would use 'ji'. However, if you're with acquaintances or want to keep it polite, you would use 'jyo'. This slang can be used in a number of different situations when the task ahead seems like a breeze. Music bank global festival unveils must-see official lineup

The production team of the '2023 Music Bank Global Festival,' set to air on December 15, has revealed a lineup of 38 K-POP artists. The MCs for the show have also been confirmed. Rowoon and  Jang Won Young  will host Part 1, while Rowoon, Jang Won Young, Go Min Si and  Lee Young Ji  will take charge of Part 2. 

According to the production team, Rowoon is an MC who has led various music programs such as 'The Idol Band' and 'Music Festival,' in addition to 'Music Bank World Tour in Chile.' Jang Won-young, co-hosting Part 1 with Rowoon, is beloved for her lively charm and quick wit as the 37th MC of 'Music Bank.' 

Gomin-si, who will join Rowoon in Part 2, has been showcasing her versatility across different genres. Lee Young-ji is a representative artist of the MZ generation and has been acclaimed for her unmatched charm.

The artist lineup is also unprecedented. Part 1 of the '2023 Music Bank Global Festival,' to be broadcast live from the KBS Hall, will feature 18 teams, including Sunmi, Hwasa, Young K, NCT 127, NCT Dream, fromis_9, (G)I-DLE, ONEUS, TXT, CRAVITY, aespa, IVE, Xdinary Heroes, Hi-L, CIX, ZEROBASEONE, LIZ, and FantasyBoys.

In addition, Part 2, held at the Verona Dome in Japan, will feature 20 teams, including Park Jin-young, Golden Girls, SHINee, Melomance, Kang Daniel, THE BOYZ, Stray Kids, ATEEZ, ITZY, Lee Young-ji, P1Harmony, STAYC, ENHYPEN, NIJU, Kep1er, NMIXX, LE SSERAFIM, NewJeans, ANTIME, and BOYNEXTDOOR.

The production team stated: 'By combining both Part 1 and Part 2, a global festival will unfold where 38 domestic artists, who have received immense love from the nation this year, will all gather in one place. Expect legendary stages as artists representing K-POP from the second to the fifth generation come together. Please look forward to it.'

The '2023 Music Bank Global Festival' is scheduled to be broadcast on KBS2 TV at 8:30 PM on December 15 (Friday).

Bonjour, music lovers! Music Bank 2023 KPOP Festival officially arrived in Paris . We re-named the city of love the city of music on the 8th of April 2023. Presented by Park Bogum, Music Bank brought the sunshine and featured an incredible lineup. With the likes of Stray Kids , Enhypen, Cravity , Mamamoo , AB6IX, The Boyz , IVE, NMIXX , and P1Harmony taking to the stage performing in front of 35,000 fans. Naturally, we at The Honey POP packed our bags and set off for the ultimate K-POP experience. We’re giving you a rundown of some highlights from the 4-hour show and we’re crossing our fingers these artists get to have a European tour soon.

NMIXX mesmerized the audience and opened the show with ‘Love Me Like This.’ What stood out was how the girls showcased their versatility by performing three original songs, including their title track ‘O.O.’ The Music Bank stage truly came alive with their bright energy and we loved their cute visuals paired with their fierce outfits. Lily’s high notes were truly breathtaking and earned well-deserved cheers. NMIXX also performed a fun cover of ‘TT’ by Twice which had everyone hyped and singing along. We definitely left wanting more from NMIXX and if you haven’t already, ‘Love Me Like This’ is a must-listen!

P1Harmony do not back down on the stage and proved they will be the next big thing in the industry. Dressed in sleek suits, the 6-member group opened their set with their latest title track, ‘Back Down’ which was full of energy and impressive moves. The leader of the group, Keeho, had the audience participate during the song ‘Follow Me.’ Picture this … 35,000 people smiling and jumping during the bridge, it was truly a wholesome moment. Alongside, they also did an impressive cover of ‘2 Baddies’ by NCT 127 and danced along to ‘That That’ by Psy during a special stage.

When it comes to girl power, Mamamoo is undoubtedly the definition. The four members proved themselves to be the epitome of professionalism. They were all dressed incredibly chic and hit perfect harmonies paired with insane raps. The ‘HIP’ stage proved to be a fan favorite. You may have missed it but we noticed Hwasa descend from the stage and sing with fans in the crowd. And, let’s not forget the ‘Le Festin’ cover performed by Solar. Her solo perfectly encapsulated the essence of the city. After hearing ‘Starry Night’ live we would recommend it anyone who loves perfect harmonies, stellar beats. and powerful visuals to listen.

The highlight of seeing The Boyz at Music Bank was watching them perform all together after Eric made his highly anticipated return to the European stage. The group started with ‘Roar’ which rightfully had the audience roaring with cheers. Each member brought their unique talents, a never-ending list including Kevin’s elegant ballet moves, to Eric and Sunwoo doing the ‘OMG’ by NewJeans choreography, New’s light harmonies, and Hyunjin’s insane stage presence. In one sentence everyone was left speechless. We really enjoyed the special OST stage as the presenter, Park Bogum played the keyboard to The Boyz vocals.

When IVE made their entrance onto the Music Bank stage with ‘Kitsch’, the crowd erupted. They also did stunning performances of ‘Eleven,’ ‘After Like,’ and ‘My Satisfaction.’ All the girls looked angelic dressed in white and each member shone and showed their individual presence. We thought the ‘After Like’ performance was particularly special. Everyone in the crowd was spotted dancing along to the group’s choreography during the song’s most memorable moments.

AB6IX received an extremely positive response from European fans throughout their entire set. Whilst we wish they performed more songs, our personal highlight was their ‘Breathe’ performance and fashion choices. They perfectly combined a youthful and playful aesthetic with leather which gave them a powerful edge. Also, their performance of ‘Breathe’ left us all breathless as we all sang word for word.

As soon as the 9-member boy group Cravity stepped onto the stage, they immediately became the center of attention. We have to appreciate how extremely refined they are on the stage. The guys showed off their dynamic performances, impressive vocals, and sleek visuals. At The Honey POP! we couldn’t get enough of their ‘Groovy’ performance. The crowd were definitely grooving along. They even graced us by joining P1Harmony during the special stage of ‘That That’ which left us in complete awe of the entire group.

Attempting to describe Enhypen’s set in one paragraph is almost impossible, but we’ll give it a go! In addition to a special stage of ‘Polaroid Love,’ fans were also given classics like ‘Fever,’ and ‘Tamed-Dashed.’ The crowd-pleaser ‘Go big or go home’ specifically stood out – a club classic as we like to call it in Europe. The group was extremely impressive to watch on stage and their set showcased their remarkable versatility.

To close the show Stray Kids took to the stage and we can confirm, their mics were on! The Stays in the crowd went absolutely wild. If you thought the four-hour show had left you drained think again, because Stray Kids brought the energy straight back up. They even took the time to read notes left by fans before the show. We’re hoping their thunderous response on the stage was enough to spark a Europe tour in the future. The group served up a five star Michelin worthy performance and closed the show with ‘Miroh.’ We have to say after experiencing ‘Miroh’ live in 2023, we’re not sure how life could get any better.

NewJeans, (G)I-DLE and more join ‘Music Bank in Mexico’ line-up

Also featuring STAYC and ITZY, among others

South Korean chart show  Music Bank has announced the line-up of it’s upcoming concert in Mexico, featuring NewJeans, (G)I-DLE and more.

Today (July 27), television broadcaster KBS released a new teaser for its upcoming ‘ Music Bank in Mexico’ concert, which is set to be held at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City, Mexico on October 22.

Fronting the line-up of ‘ Music Bank in Mexico’ are four popular girl groups: NewJeans , (G)I-DLE , STAYC and ITZY . Joining them will be two boybands, The New Six and AB6IX . It will be the second-ever  Music Bank event in Mexico, following one in 2014.

More details about the upcoming concert, including ticketing availability and pricing, potential hosts and more, are expected out in the coming months. Keep tabs on this page for the latest information.

The upcoming Mexico edition of the concerts comes just months after ‘ Music Bank in Paris’, which was held in April 2023. That concert featured appearances by Stray Kids , ENHYPEN , CRAVITY , MAMAMOO , AB6IX, THE BOYZ , IVE , NMIXX and P1Harmony .

In other K-pop concert news, Dreamcatcher have announced the US and Canada legs of upcoming 2023 ‘Apocalypse: From Us’ world tour. The girl group will perform in Cincinnati, Nashville, Toronto and more this September. Find out how to get your hands on tickets at the link .

Meanwhile, Dreamcatcher were also originally set to perform in Houston and New Jersey next month as part of the ‘We Stand’ K-pop Festival. However, both dates of the event has since been postponed , with an “altered line-up” to be announced later.

KBS 2023 Music Bank Global Festival Announces Final Lineup And Broadcast Plans

KBS has revealed its final lineup and broadcast plans for its 2023 Music Bank Global Festival!

This year, instead of its annual KBS Song Festival , KBS will be holding a year-end “2023 Music Bank Global Festival” in both Japan and Korea.

While the Japanese show will be pre-recorded in Saitama on December 9, both the Korean show and the Japanese show will air together on December 15 as two halves of one year-end special.

Part 1 of the 2023 Music Bank Global Festival will air live from Korea, with Rowoon and IVE’s Jang Won Young serving as its MCs. The lineup of performers for Part 1 will consist of aespa , CRAVITY , DAY6’s Young K , FANTASY BOYS , fromis_9, (G)I-DLE , H1-KEY, IVE, MAMAMOO ’s Hwasa , NCT 127 , NCT DREAM , ONEUS, RIIZE, Sunmi , TXT , Xdinary Heroes, xikers, and ZEROBASEONE.

Meanwhile, Part 2 of the festival will be the pre-recorded Japanese show, which will be hosted by MCs Rowoon, Go Min Si , and Lee Young Ji . The lineup for Part 2 will consist of ATEEZ , BOYNEXTDOOR, THE BOYZ , Golden Girls, ENHYPEN , ITZY , Kang Daniel , Kep1er, LE SSERAFIM, Lee Young Ji, MeloMance, NewJeans , NiziU, NMIXX, Park Jin Young , P1Harmony, SHINee , STAYC, Stray Kids , and &TEAM.

The 2023 Music Bank Global Festival in Korea will air on December 15 at 8:30 p.m. KST.

Morgan Wallen Will Take 2023 ‘One Night at a Time’ on a Massive World Tour

Morgan Wallen will be chasin’ his fans across the globe next year. On Monday, the controversial country artist added 14 additional shows to his already-massive 2023 tour “due to overwhelming demand,” following the success of his Dangerous album. He also announced a trio of new singles.

“2023 is gonna be a special year… I got a lot in store for y’all and thought we’d start with this,” wrote Wallen on Instagram, teasing the tour and new music. “Ready for y’all to hear what we’ve been working on so I’m dropping a few songs at midnight eastern time tonight.”

The tour seems to be named after one of the new songs he released Friday, “One Thing at a Time,” which he co-wrote with his opener, Ernest . Wallen also dropped “Tennessee Fan” and “Days That End in Why.” The trio of songs follows tracks “You Proof,” “Thought You Should Know,” and “Don’t Think Jesus” released earlier this year.

Wallen added extra dates in Milwaukee, Atlanta, East Rutherford, Pittsburgh, San Diego, Phoenix, Boston, Toronto, and Vancouver.

On select dates, Wallen will present Hardy and Parker McCollum as special guests, while newcomers Ernest and Bailey Zimmerman will open for the singer throughout the tour. “Thank you to Morgan for this opportunity. He could have picked anybody for these shows,” McCollum wrote on Instagram. “Grateful to get to do it. See y’all in 2023!”

The 47,000-seat venue is the home of popular football club Colo-Colo and has hosted international concerts with Guns N’Roses, Pearl Jam, and others. The World's Highest Grossing Tours of 2023

2023 was a serious year for live music . (Although more accurately, it was a huge year for several major headliners. Many smaller acts have faced a different story entirely).

According to analysts at Pollstar, total grosses for the top 100 tours that year were up 46 percent from $6.28 billion in 2022 to $9.17 billion last year. Attendance figures were also up, rising from 59 million to 70 million - an increase of 18.4 percent.

The following chart is based on data collected by Pollstar on the world’s highest grossing tours of 2023. It reveals that at the top of this list, comes Taylor Swift with her record-breaking “ Eras Tour ” - the first ever to break the $1 billion mark - which visited 60 stadiums in total. It was followed by Beyoncé’s “Renaissance Tour”, which grossed some $579,813,546 in 56 shows and Bruce Springsteen’s “Springsteen and E Street Band 2023 Tour” which grossed $379,496,085 across 66 venues.

Ticket prices for the top 8 grossing worldwide tours ranged between an average of $105.16 for an Ed Sheeran ticket to more than double that for Taylor Swift - $238.95.

March 3: Morgan Wallen plays a free, surprise concert at Bridgestone Arena

24 hours before the release of his third studio album "One Day At A Time," 30-year-old country and pop mega-star Morgan Wallen announced he'd celebrate the drop of the 36-track mega-project in a most unprecedented manner: "I'm gonna do acoustic… everyone's asking me why I'm not doing a Tennessee show. I'm doing one now. Friday, 3/3. See you there," Wallen shared with fans.

March 20: Love Rising Benefit Concert at Bridgestone Arena

Three weeks after Tennessee Governor Bill Lee signed into law a pair of Tennessee bills banning gender-affirming health care and "adult-oriented" entertainment — including "male and female impersonators" — from public property, Allison Russell and Jason Isbell led the way in putting on a benefit show at Bridgestone. Love Rising featured a festival-sized lineup that included Brandi Carlile, Maren Morris, Hayley Williams, Sheryl Crow, Hozier and more than a dozen other Nashville-tied artists.

"We just thought, how can we form a circle of love and support and care and put money back into the community and the organizations that need it to continue this fight that we're engaged in," Russell told The Tennessean about the event that raised over $500,000 for the Tennessee Equality Project, inclusion Tennessee, OUTMemphis and the Tennessee Pride Chamber.

April 3: Tanya Tucker rides a stallion to Broadway to celebrate Country Music Hall of Fame induction announcement

The "Sweet Western Sound" Nashvillians heard when beloved outlaw country star Tanya Tucker celebrated the announcement of her joining Patty Loveless and songwriter Bob McDill as 2023 Country Music Hall of Famers was not from her latest album. Rather, it was from Lauwe the Magnificent, a world-champion black stallion that the "Delta Dawn" vocalist rode three blocks from the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum to the intersection of 5th and Broadway next to the Bridgestone Arena.

Two months later, Tucker, on the Grand Ole Opry's stage, again appeared astride Lauwe. In regards to numerous crowd's stunned response to Tucker's outlandish celebrations, she shyly demurred, winked and told The Tennessean: "God's sprinkling magic dust on these people or something, right?"

April 4: Country music musical 'Shucked' opens at Broadway's Nederlander Theatre

Nashville-based songwriters Shane McAnally and Brandy Clark brought a little bit of the South to New York City's Great White Way with the opening of "Shucked" on Broadway. The music and lyrics for the musical comedy about — you guessed it: corn — was written entirely by Clark and McAnally. It was an endeavor 10 years in the making and the first Broadway score out of Nashville.

"Shucked," went on to win a Tony Award and the hearts of many who saw it. "Vulture" writer Rebecca Alter wrote, “’Shucked’ is a show about corn. And at a time when New York theatergoers shell out for Sondheim revivals, jukebox musicals, and celebrity casting, ‘Shucked’ may be the most surprising viral hit in recent Broadway history.”

While "Shucked" will close its Broadway run in early 2024, it will embark on a national tour stopping in more than 30 cities next year, including Nashville.

April 4: After winning a Grammy, Tennessee State University's Aristocrat of Bands makes Grand Ole Opry debut

Historically Black college Tennessee State University has the first HBCU band to appear on national television, perform at a presidential inaugural parade and on the White House lawn. To celebrate their 2023 Best Roots Gospel Award Grammy win, TSU's Aristocrat of Bands debuted -- in suits and boots, plus drum majors and the Sophisticated Ladies dancers -- at the Grand Ole Opry.

"The TSU band now represents how this music, our music, on multiple levels, thrives in every setting," stated Larry Jenkins, the band's assistant director, to The Tennessean . "HBCU band culture is vital to American music. This culture reaching avenues beyond football fields and a limited number of genres and stages is always important."

Nate Bargatze has been honing and refining his comedy chops the bulk of his adult life. But 2023 has been a breakout year for the Old Hickory-born Bargatze.

After breaking attendance records at Bridgestone Arena in April (and joking about stealing a seat so that nobody else could beat his record) Bargatze hosed 'Saturday Night Live', has Amazon Prime's most-streamed original comedy special with his "Hello World" stand-up and he's embarked on his current "The Be Funny Tour" that is canvassing the country into 2024.

May 8: Taylor Swift performs at a sold-out, rain-soaked Nissan Stadium

Swifties of all stripes -- including Megan Moroney , yes, she of ACM New Female Artist of the Year nominee and chart-topper "Tennessee Orange" fame — were "spiritually transformed" by singing along to Taylor Swift's decade-old single "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" in a torrential downpour early on May 8 during the 2023 TIME Person of the Year's final of three performances at Nashville's Nissan Stadium.

A Tennessean review of the concert highlighted that fans sheltered in place for nearly four hours due to severe weather. Swift kicked off her 45-song set after 10 p.m., performing past 1 a.m.

"There is one element to the stadium tour that you absolutely cannot plan on, and that is the weather," Swift said. "The fact that we had chaotic weather and you decided — all of you — to stay here to count on the fact that we were gonna play this show for you no matter what, that means the world to me and everyone on this tour."

June 8-11: CMA Fest

Nearly 100,000 die-hard country music fanatics descended upon Nashville's Lower Broadway for four days of the genre's best at its modern pop cultural zenith.

Over four days, numerous moments highlighted how often awkward and ridiculous but also unquestionably heartfelt country music can be. However, performers also excelled at simplifying emotions and thoughts into notions best understood via three chords and the truth.

July 15: Beyoncé's Energy/Break My Soul Renaissance World Tour at Nissan Stadium

Queen Bey not only brought her massive three-hour-long "Renaissance" tour to Nashville's Nissan Stadium, but the show came through town right as the state of Tennessee was hotly debating several LGBTQ+ issues ranging from gender-affirming healthcare to adult-oriented entertainment, which by definition includes "male and female impersonators."

Her album "Renaissance" was dedicated to her house music-adoring gay Uncle Johnny and the tour of the same name drew a large representation from the LGBTQ+ community. While she didn't address any of the previously mentioned issues onstage, she did bring a colorful statement to Nashville.

If you were looking for the one time in Music City's 2023 where more fans at Nissan Stadium knew every word to the raps in Madonna's "Vogue" or Megan Thee Stallion's "Savage" or the chorus to Frankie Beverly and Maze's R&B classic "Before I Let You Go" than to Old Crow Medicine Show's "Wagon Wheel," this was that event.

The crowd's joy at the event reached an "ecstatic apotheosis," according to The Tennessean's review of the event.

Nov. 3: Sheryl Crow inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Nashvillian of 20 years, Sheryl Crow, known for her many hits including "Every Day is a Winding Road" and "All I Wanna Do," earned herself a spot in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2023 alongside the great Willie Nelson.

But Crow isn't ready to just be known for her past successes. In November, Crow teased the release of "Evolution," her 11th full-length studio album set to be released in March of 2024. The nine-time Grammy winner debuted the album's first single, "Alarm Clock" during a recent appearance on NBC's "Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."

Nov. 8: 2023 Country Music Association Awards

There were two artists that dominated this year's CMA Awards and both of them were unexpected and at the same time, welcomed. Lainey Wilson, who took home five trophies, also was named the coveted Entertainer of the Year. The first time a female has earned that title since a young Taylor Swift won it in 2011.

The other name of the night was Jelly Roll. Nashville-born Jelly also took home five awards including Male Vocalist and New Artist of the Year, but won the hearts of many viewers with his acceptance speeches.

"There's a tale of two Nashvilles happening right now," he said after being named best new artist. "I represent both Music Row, which has embraced me so lovingly, but also my local community that raised me."

Also notable from this year's CMAs was Tracy Chapman's first ever win by a Black female for Luke Combs' cover of her hit "Fast Car," which took home Song of the Year.

Nov. 17: Dolly Parton releases 'Rockstar'

When music legend Dolly Parton was told she was being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame , she initially wanted to decline the invitation, arguing she didn't deserve that honor because she doesn't play rock music. But instead of backing down, she did a very Dolly thing: She decided to make a rock record to earn her spot in the hall.

Called simply "Rockstar," Parton solicited help from the likes of Joan Jett, Stevie Nicks, Steven Tyler, Rob Halford and Debbie Harry to name a few. The result is a 30-song collection of nine original songs and her take on 21 rock songs, many featuring the original or guest artists.

The album would go on to top six of the Billboard charts at the end of November including Top Album Sales, Top Current Album Sales and Independent Albums charts. The record also topped Billboard's Top Rock Albums, Top Rock & Alternative Albums and Top Country Albums charts.
