How to get resale tickets for Peter Kay's 2022- 25 UK tour

Each ticket is verified through Ticketmaster's 'Ticket Exchange' so the ticket and seat that fans buy, is the ticket they get. Ticketmaster advises that if the tickets you want aren't shown, or the amount of tickets you'd like isn't available, you may need to look closer to the time.

Currently, there are no resale tickets available for Peter Kay, but it's definitely worth keeping an eye out in the next few months. Resale tickets will have a purple circle symbol with two arrows and will be available to purchase online and via the app.

You can pay for resale tickets using Visa, MasterCard, Maestro and Amex. A handling fee will be charged to cover the secure transfer of the ticket from the seller to you, and you won't nee to pay a delivery fee.

Resale tickets are shown on Ticketmaster seat maps as pink dots. The full number of seats listed is always shown, even if some of those seats have been sold, so you may not be able to buy them all.

How much will resale tickets cost for Peter Kay's 2022-25 tour

The prices of the resale tickets are set by individual sellers. It's up to the seller to list their tickets for the original price they paid, inclusive of fees, or at a lower price.

Ticketmaster will show the face value price during the checkout process so there aren't any hidden costs. The tickets may also have the original purchaser's name on them, but you'll still be able to get into the event. Ticketmaster will inform the venue that the tickets have been sold. Peter Kay tour tickets selling for £1,000 after early-access seats sell out in minutes

peter kay tour resale

Fans of Peter Kay have been left disappointed after tickets to his upcoming shows are fetching as much as £1,000 on resale sites.

The comedy legend announced his highly awaited tour earlier this week following a long hiatus from the public eye and pre-sale tickets have been flying off the shelves ever since.

Customers of O2 priority were able to purchase tickets early but many reported glitches and website crashes in their attempts to bag a pair.

Tickets were originally priced from £35 but are now being sold for as much as £1,179 for his Birmingham show while his London gig is fetching £944 per seat on resale sites such as Viagogo.

The O2 ’s priority website and app crashed on Thursday morning as Peter Kay fans scrambled to snap up tickets to the comedian’s comeback stand-up tour.

Many fans were left upset at seeing the tickets on the resale sites following O2 crashing and took to Twitter to air their frustration at the time.

One penned: “Yes it’s a joke tho mate on the resale sites there up for a grand so someone is dodgy or something is going on” (sic).

Another posted: “Tried 8 times just crashes every time code entered. fuming.”

Kay announced on Sunday he is returning with a live comedy tour - his first in 12 years - which is due to start in December and run until summer 2023.

He also announced he will be performing a monthly residency at London ’s O2 Arena , in Greenwich. He will become the first comedian to be given his own residency at the venue.

Tickets went live for those with O2 priority access at 10am on Thursday - 48 hours before becoming available to the general public.

But “extraordinary” demand left the customers struggling to reach its website or app.

Apologising to customers on Twitter shortly after 10am, O2 said: “We’re seeing unprecedented demand for Peter Kay tickets & we know a lot of you can’t access Priority. Sorry, we’re working on it.

“Please be patient; this is by far the highest demand we’ve ever seen for Priority Tickets in 15 years. The presale lasts for 48h so keep checking.”

The priority website was still down for some customers at around 1pm.

O2 assured that tickets were being successfully purchased, and urged people to “keep trying”.

Announcing his tour on Sunday, Kay said: “If there’s ever a time people need a laugh, it’s now. And, with the cost of living at an all-time high, ticket prices are starting from £35. The same price they were on my previous tour in 2010.”

Peter Kay gigs pulled just a day ahead of Co-op Live's launch in Manchester

Peter Kay was due to open the new Manchester venue Co-op Live this week with two huge comedy gigs, while singer Rick Astley's preview concert over the weekend was also hit with problems.

Comedian Peter Kay has been forced to postpone two shows at Co-op Live in Manchester due to the brand-new arena's power testing falling "a few days" behind schedule.

The record-breaking stand-up comedian had been due to open the new venue - which is now the UK's biggest arena - on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.

The 50-year-old Phoenix Nights star said in a statement: "I'm truly gutted as I know how disappointing this will be for everyone with tickets, but obviously it's a brand-new venue and it's important that everything is finished and safe for full capacity audiences.

"Fortunately, we've been able to reschedule the shows to next week, (I'll have to miss my Bums & Tums class) but hopefully I'll see you then."

Co-op Live shared a statement on their Twitter feed, telling followers: "Following our first test event on Saturday, regretfully we have made the difficult decision to reschedule our two opening performances by Peter Kay.

"These dates will move from 23 April and 24 Wednesday to Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 April."

The spokesperson for the venue explained that an issue around the power supply was the cause of the cancellation.

"It is critical to ensure we have a consistent total power supply to our fully electric sustainable venue, the completion of which is a few days behind.

"Rescheduling gives us the extra time we need to continue testing thoroughly. This is vital to satisfy the rigorous set of guidelines and protocols that are necessary for a venue of this size."

The statement added: "Peter Kay has very graciously agreed to perform his record-breaking comedy at Co-op Live on 29 (rescheduled from 23) and 30 (rescheduled from 24) April 2024. All tickets remain valid and ticket holders will be contacted by their point of purchase."

They said refunds would be available for any ticketholders who could no longer attend the event, and flagged that the date change might mean new tickets become available for fans who missed out the first time round.

The venue added: "We are very sorry for the inconvenience that this change will undoubtedly cause for some. We are thrilled to welcome Peter Kay as our grand opening act just a few days later than planned."

Over the weekend, a preview concert starring Rick Astley was also hit by delays, with ticket capacity slashed just hours before his gig was due to begin.

Astley fans who had their tickets cancelled have instead been offered seats to see US rock band the Black Keys play next week.

Once fully open, the arena - which is next to Manchester City's football ground - will have a capacity of 23,500, overtaking the capacity of the existing Manchester Arena which has a capacity of 21,000.

Built at an estimated cost of £365m, the arena counts former One Direction singer Harry Styles as one of its investors, with the pop star also advising on some elements of the arena's design.

Other stars set to play at the venue include Take That, Liam Gallagher, Olivia Rodrigo and Eric Clapton.

Peter Kay has been on a comeback tour - his first since 2010 - since December, with stops in Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds scheduled through to next year.

In 2010, Kay won the Guinness World Record for the biggest-selling stand-up tour of all time - playing to a total of 1.2 million people.

Peter Kay forced to cancel gigs again as Co-op Live arena boss quits

Peter Kay has been forced to cancel two-sold out Manchester dates for a second time as venue Co-op Live continues to be plagued with problems.

It comes as the general manager of the £365m arena, Gary Roden, resigned yesterday after the comedian was forced to cancel gigs at the venue following technical complications, earlier this week.

“My apologies once again but unfortunately the Co-op Live still isn’t ready and so, as yet, remains untested for a large-scale audience,” Kay wrote in a post on X/Twitter.

“Consequently, they are having to reschedule my two shows yet again (I know I can’t believe it either).”

Safety concerns and delayed power tests meant both gigs were intially pushed back to 29 and 30 April but have now been moved to next month with gigs listed for 23 and 24 May.

“Tickets will be transferred, or refunds given if the new dates aren’t suitable,” wrote the comedian.

Roden, who also served as executive director of the arena, stepped down from his position on Thursday (25 April) after a series of problems with its long-awaited launch.

In addition to technical difficulties, Roden had received backlash for comments made to the BBC, in which he criticised smaller music venues for being “poorly run” – a statement from the venue said it did not “share the sentiment” expressed and “Co-op Live remains committed to grassroots music in Manchester and beyond”.

A spokesperson told the Manchester Evening News : “Gary Roden has decided to resign. We’d like to thank Gary for his help bringing the UK’s newest arena to live entertainment fans and wish him the best for the future.”

Kay rescheduled two sold-out Manchester dates earlier this week after it was planned that the comedian would be the first performer to grace the stage of the new 23,500 capacity Manchester arena Co-op Live .

But after the venue faced complications at a Rick Astley test event on Saturday (20 April), it issued an apology saying that Kay’s performances had been pushed back.

Kay’s two dates were moved from Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 April, to Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 April.

The comedian said in a statement: “I’m truly gutted as I know how disappointing this will be for everyone with tickets, but obviously it’s a brand-new venue and it’s important that everything is finished and safe for full-capacity audiences.

“Fortunately, we’ve been able to reschedule the shows to next week, (I’ll have to miss my Bums & Tums class) but hopefully I’ll see you then.”

A spokesperson for the venue said: “Following our first test event on Saturday, regretfully we have made the difficult decision to reschedule our two opening performances by Peter Kay. These dates will move from 23 April and 24 Wednesday to Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 April.”

The venue is fully electric but faced difficulties in keeping its power supply consistent in time for its opening.

The arena, which looks like a giant black box, has been built by City Football Group - owned by billionaire UAE royal and deputy prime minister Sheikh Mansour - and Oakview Music Group, co-founded by US music mogul Irving Azoff.

Harry Styles invested in the stadium and advised on some elements of its design. Local artist Liam Gallagher, the former Oasis frontman, Olivia Rodrigo, Take That and Eric Clapton are among some of the other musicians set to play there.

Peter Kay ‘in disbelief’ as he postpones Manchester shows again with £365,000,000 venue in chaos

Peter Kay has admitted he’s in ‘disbelief’ over having to postpone two major gig dates yet again thanks to issues with Manchester’s new £365million Co-op Live arena .

Fans had initially been enraged after discovering the comedian’s two gigs in Manchester had been postponed due to power supply issues at the venue with just 24 hours notice on Monday.

The 50-year-old’s gigs scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday of this week (April 23 and 24), were originally rescheduled for Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 April.

However, the Phoenix Nights star was forced to take to social media again on Friday to reveal that those dates would no longer be possible either because the stadium ‘still isn’t ready’.

New dates are set for late May.

Kay wrote in a statement he posted to X: ‘To everybody with tickets, my apologies once again but unfortunately the Co-op Live still isn’t ready and so, as yet, remains untested for a large-scale audience.

‘Consequently, they are having to reschedule my two shows yet again,’ he continued, adding in brackets: ‘I know I can’t believe it either.’

He then revealed that the first two available dates for the rescheduled shows wereThursday May 23 for the rescheduled Monday April 29 gig, and Friday May 24 for the show that had been pushed to Tuesday April 30.

‘Tickets will be transferred, or refunds given if the new dates aren’t suitable.’

Sharing in many of his fans’ feelings, he concluded: ‘It’s very disappointing but your safety is important, and I won’t compromise that.’

Co-op Live also posted an update on the social media site, revealing that The Black Keys’ show had also been pushed.

‘Since making the difficult decision to postpone the live shows at Co-op Live due to take place this week, we have been undertaking an extensive protocol of testing critical procedures to ensure all areas are ready for fans,’ the venue’s statement began.

The venue then praised Kay and The Black Keys for ‘graciously’ agreeing to reschedule their shows, with the band now due to perform on May 15 instead.

‘We deeply appreciate the impact this will have on excited fans, and sincerely apologise for the inconvenience that this change will undoubtedly cause.’

The official account went on to explain that postponing the shows ‘will give us the extra time we need to continue testing enhanced emergency communications thoroughly’.

‘This is vital to satisfy the rigorous set of guidelines and protocols that are necessary for a venue of this size to ensure that our fans, artists and staff have the safest experience possible.’

The arena’s general manager Gary Roden announced his resignation on Thursday after a slew of issues led to a delay in the opening of what will be the UK’s biggest indoor arena.

Co-op Live Arena confirmed to the BBC that Roden had resigned, shortly after his comments to the broadcaster, in which he claimed grassroots music venues were often ‘poorly run’.

A statement from the arena to the news organisation said it does not ‘share the sentiment’ expressed by its now-former general manager and that ‘Co-op Live remains committed to grassroots music in Manchester and beyond’.

The statement also thanked Mr Roden for his ‘help bringing the UK’s newest arena to live entertainment fans and wish him the best for the future’.

As per the statement to the BBC, Rebecca Kane Burton, an ex-boss of London’s O2 Arena, will step in as interim general manager.

Co-op Live Arena in Manchester

The venue, built by developer the Oak View Group, was given planning permission in 2020 and boasted an investment from popstar Harry Styles .

The initial postponement after the Co-op Live’s first test event on Saturday had frustrated fans over the lack of notice.

@Thicktighnolie said: ‘Please tell me why I am finding this out on flipping TWITTER and have not been emailed?’

@StevieJVega quipped: ‘Rebrand to coop almost live.’

‘WOW ! Test event Saturday and 2 days later you decide to cancel at midday ! Who will compensate my hotel and rail fare I no longer need ! And to add insult we can’t make next week !! Disgusting and still not been told by ticketmaster,’ @dunkmat added.

A statement posted on Peter’s official X page earlier this week had explained: ‘Following Coop Live’s first test event on Saturday, regretfully the venue operators have made the difficult decision to reschedule the two opening performances by Peter Kay.

‘These dates will move from 23 April and 24 Wednesday to Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 April.’

Co-op Live also shared a statement on their X account and told followers they decided to push back Peter’s stand-up gigs after a test event on Saturday.

The company said the reason behind the postponement was a lack of a ‘consistent’ total power supply for their ‘fully electric sustainable venue’.

Co-op Live said all tickets were still valid and ticket holders would be contacted by their point of purchase.

Refunds will also be available for those we can no longer attend.

‘We are very sorry for the inconvenience that this change will undoubtedly cause for some,’ the statement said.

Peter’s tour  Better Late Than Never is his first stand-up run in 12 years and was unsurprisingly met with astonishing demand for tickets.

Following the announcement of his return to showbiz, Peter was overwhelmed by all the support.
