Release date: August 25, 2016 The Constitution -class Temporal Light Cruiser is a Tier 6 Cruiser which may be flown by Starfleet characters, including Federation-aligned Romulan Republic and Dominion characters. All faction restrictions of this starship can be removed by having a level 65 KDF character or by purchasing the Cross Faction Flying unlock from the Zen Store . This starship can be used from any level upon completion of the tutorial experience. As you level up, this ship gains additional hull, weapon slots, and console slots.

Players can obtain this starship from a [ Special Requisition Choice Pack - Tier 6 Promotional Ship Choice Pack ] , which has a ultra rare chance to drop from a [ Infinity Promotion R&D Pack ] or a [ Infinity Promotion Duty Officer Pack ] . This box is bound to you until a ship is chosen. The boxed ship is not bound and so may be traded to other players or bought and sold on the Exchange for energy credits under the name [Special Requisition Pack - Temporal Light Cruiser [T6]] , as well as under [Special Requisition Pack - 23rd Century Tier 6 Ship] . The choice box's contents depend on the player's faction; Federation players will receive the Constitution Temporal Light Cruiser when opening it.

Overview [ | ]

A legendary Federation cruiser equipped with Molecular Reconstruction technology allowing it to assume one of three different configurations in battle. The ship also has an ominous device that allows for the execution of the infamous Corbomite Maneuver!

Temporal Light Cruiser comes with the Universal bridge, unique to the temporal vessels. It can utilize the Command and Temporal bridge officer powers .

Players may also select the "Constitution Refit Beta" nacelles, which are permanently lit. or the "Constitution Refit Gamma" nacelles, which include permanently lit bussard collectors.

Players may also select the "Jefferies Beta" hull, which has a protuding deflector dish like the TOS Constitution.

Molecular Reconstruction

Temporal Starships are capable of making subtle alterations on the molecular level through the use of Molecular Reconstruction . This technology allows the starship to assume 1 of 3 different Configurations: Offensive , Defensive and Support .

Each of the configurations generates its own specific counter, which is then used to fuel the Molecular Deconstruction Beam .

As you rank up every 10 levels, up to level 40, the ship's forward weapon slots, aft weapon slots, tactical console slots, engineering console slots, science console slots and available bridge officer (boff) abilities will slowly increase toward endgame capabilities:

Hull strength [ ]

This table shows how the ship's hull strength scales at each level. The base hull of all scaling starships is 10,000, which is then multiplied by the ship's hull modifier (1.375 for the Constitution -class Temporal Light Cruiser), and then multiplied by the scaling multiplier below at each level.

T6-X upgrade

By using an [ Experimental Ship Upgrade Token ] , the Constitution -class Temporal Light Cruiser may be upgraded to T6-X , unlocking an extra ship device slot, universal console slot, and the ability to slot an extra starship trait .

Updated Constitution and Miranda Options!

Greetings, Captains! The Ship Team and all of the artists are hugely passionate fans of the Star Trek Universe, and are always looking for ways to make the universe of Star Trek Online feel even closer to the canon we all know and love. With that in mind, Lead Ship Artist Thomas Marrone has created several new updates to classic ships that we think you'll love. Take it away, Thomas:

Soyuz Class and Miranda Class Improvements

Greetings captains! A little while ago, we were proud to introduce the revamped model of the venerable Miranda-class starship. While everyone was excited to see this classic ship get a facelift, there were a few visual options some of you hoped for that didn’t quite make it in. We heard your feedback and spent some extra time at the shipyards to bring you these options, which will be available in an upcoming update.

Fleet Advanced Light Cruiser (T6) Update – Soyuz Class

Only seen in Star Trek: The Next Generation episode “Cause and Effect,” the Soyuz-class U.S.S. Bozeman is a striking variant on the Miranda, with its extended aft hull and large equipment pod attachments. Now, captains who purchase a Fleet Advanced Light Cruiser (T6) will have access to this variant’s parts, and it is fully customizable with the other Miranda variants. If you already have a Fleet Advanced Light Cruiser (T6), you will also have access to the Soyuz parts! 

More Miranda Part Options

We also wanted to announce new customization options that will be freely available for any Starfleet Light Cruiser or Advanced Light Cruiser (T6):

“Miranda Beta” Saucer: This version of the Miranda-class’ saucer section is based on the 24 th century refit of the ship seen in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Pair it with the “Miranda Beta” nacelles and Type 8b material to complete that 24 th century look!

“Miranda Beta” Strut: When we announced the revamp of the classic Miranda, some players were sad to see Cryptic’s update of the Miranda’s rollbar disappear… so we’ve created a new version of the strut that has the embedded deflector dish on it, as an homage to the way the ship looked at the launch of STO.  

Type 8B Material: While the white, pearlescent look of the new Type 8 material is faithful to the appearance of Starfleet ships in the era of Star Trek: The Motion Picture and Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan , as these ships saw more use in later productions they began to appear in slightly darker, more gray tones. The Type 8b material, freely available to all Light Cruiser and Advanced Light Cruiser (T6) variants, replicates the look of these ships in the later Star Trek films and TNG onwards.

Constitution Class Model Improvements

“This is an almost entirely new Enterprise,” Captain Decker said to Admiral Kirk at the beginning of Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Behind the scenes, Star Trek’s ascendance to the silver screen called for a newly redesigned starship Enterprise befitting the scope of the film. That ship, designed by Andrew Probert and Richard Taylor, has become one of the most beloved iterations of the Enterprise across 50 years of Star Trek’s history.

The Constitution class refit is a fan favorite for many Star Trek Online players as well, and many of you have been requesting an update for its skin to match the visual detail and fidelity of our more recent starship releases. We are pleased to now share that the work has been completed, and a brand new Constitution Refit model is coming to Star Trek Online in a future update!

Like all of our model refreshes, this is a free update for players who own either the Cruiser or Temporal Light Cruiser (T6). It includes the Type 8 and Type 8b materials recently added to the Miranda-class Light Cruiser. In addition, captains who own the Temporal Light Cruiser (T6) will be able to use the NX and NX-Refit materials on their ships as well.

"Where No Man Has Gone Before" Variant

As a bonus, we’ve also created another classic variant of the Constitution class! Hardcore Trek fans might know that before the original Star Trek series began, there were two pilot episodes created to “sell” the NBC television network on the show. In each pilot episode, and then in the actual series, the Enterprise model had small but noticeable variations. Now, we are offering new parts based on the appearance of the ship in the second pilot episode, “Where No Man Has Gone Before.”

These parts are free additions to both the Constitution Class Light Cruiser and Temporal Light Cruiser (T6), and if you own either ship, you can view them by going to the starship tailor and selecting the “Constitution Beta” template. They are fully customizable with other available parts if you wish to mix and match.

We hope you enjoy these new starship options as you seek to discover what’s out there… that-a-way.

The Federation Constitution class starship is a set of starship classes from the 23rd century which include the U.S.S. Enterprise as its most famous craft. It comes in four design families relating to Star Trek: The Original Series , Star Trek (2009) , Star Trek: Discovery / Strange New Worlds , and Star Trek: Picard - each composed of several distinct variants.

See the template to the right for a list of playable starships and NPC vessels in Star Trek Online based on the Constitution. Unlike most class groups, the distinct branches of the Constitution are separate in terms of parts.

These tables indicate which hull variants are unlocked by the purchase of each ship. In some cases, designs can be used by other ships where both are owned, but not outside of the broad design family (i.e. a Kelvin hull can never be used by a Discovery-era ship).

Additionally, the Kirk Temporal Heavy Battlecruiser from the 32nd Century is dramatically larger than any of the below families, and as such cannot be combined with any existing Constitution class parts. The same applies to the Constitution III Miracle Worker Cruiser from the 25th century, which cannot be combined with other Constitution variants due to its size.

History [ ]

The Constitution -class was active prior to "The Burn"

In 3069 , this class saw the loss of at least seven ships to The Burn . Ships with active warp cores were destroyed when their dilithium became inert, resulting in antimatter explosions . ( DIS : " People of Earth ")

As of 3188 , one wrecked ship of the class orbited Hima , and another was in the vicinity of Sahil's relay station . ( DIS : " That Hope Is You, Part 1 ")

In 3189 , the fleet at Federation Headquarters included ships of this class. The collective energy of this fleet sustained a distortion field that concealed the headquarters' location . ( DIS : " Die Trying ")

In 3190 , various Constitution -class starships participated in the evacuation of United Earth when Earth was under siege from the Dark Matter Anomaly that was sent by Species 10-C . ( DIS : " Coming Home ")

After United Earth was saved, several were seen in orbit over Earth when United Earth decided to rejoin the Federation. ( DIS : " Coming Home ")

The updated Constitution-class.

The Constitution -class name comes the updated second edition of Star Trek: Shipyards - Starfleet Ships 2294 to the Future reference book that was released on 24 August 2021 . According to the reference book, a 32nd century Constitution -class was 1,399.82m in length and could accommodate a crew of up to 2,000.

In Star Trek Online , this class was referred to as the Kirk -class.
