Best Sydney Tours & Day Trips
Blessed with stacks of natural beauty and glorious sunny weather, Sydney enchants travellers from all over the world. Often mistaken for Australia’s capital, Sydney is the largest city in the country and usually the first stop for international visitors. With its natural harbour, spectacular beaches and buzzing nightlife, the city makes a great first impression. It is home to such world-renowned landmarks as the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, and the beautiful Darling Harbour.
From the famous Bondi Beach to the iconic Circular Quay, there are plenty of things to see and do in Sydney. Jump on a day tour to visit the city’s stunning east coast beaches and take in the unique architecture and historical city sites. Get to know the history and customs of the Gadigal, the traditional custodians of the area, and learn about the city’s colonial past. Or just relax with a drink and soak up the vibe and views of the picturesque Sydney Harbour.
There are plenty of must-visit destinations outside of the city too. Take a Sydney Tour to discover the spectacular forests and towering cliffs of the Blue Mountains . Best of Sydney & Blue Mountains
Our guide, Rhys, was the best and I’ve made sure we all had an amazing time. However, 27 people to one guide is just entirely too much, not to mention dangerous. Aside from that, my only further complaint is that Intro should be more picky about the hostels they put their guests in. Nomads in Sydney was my first ever hostel experience and all you have to do is read the google reviews to know to stay away from there.

Lucas was brilliant from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he was great at making you feel at ease. He was always positive and upbeat and got on really well with our entire group. Just a lovely guy!

Hannah was quite possibly the most incredible tour guide we could have ever been given. She started off as a source of information and an organiser for all of our activities but quickly became part of our family as someone we could always turn to for comfort and laughs and to answer our stupid questions. She really made our trip special and I will absolutely be looking to do another tour with her as the guide again. There aren’t really any words to explain how much of an impact she has made on each and every one of us in the group even after the trip. Thank you so much Hannah! xx

What people love about sydney tours.
Amazing experience, everything ran smoothly, and I couldn’t recommend it any more than - DO IT! Best time of my life on this tour, action packed days and it was so good to see different parts of Sydney and the wider area you might not have normally. Great value for money!
Amazing time, had an absolute blast! I will 100% be doing another tour. Val was a great tour guide, and helped me with every question I had.
As far as tours go, it's great to have others to enjoy with. Wake Up was a nice hostel with a great breakfast included the first day. That day I chose to take the ferry to Manly where our tour guide Georgia showed us shopping, the beach, and this great acai bowl restaurant. From Sydney we took the 9 hour train ride to surf x camp in arrawara. The teepee I slept in was so cool. The surf lesson was great...but we only had less than 1 hour surfing in the water, if we wanted more we had to pay more, in the afternoon we went for a walk along the beach with some local indiginous people to learn about the plants of the area and try some, we stopped at the campground to find kangaroo. The food at surf X was good. surf x still hasn't sent us the link for the surfing photos though. Byron Bay is a great surf town, although I didn't surf Wake Up had free surfboards available...I had purchased the option to kayak with dolphins and didn't feel like surfing after that. the town had lots of little shops and restaurants and a walk to the lighthouse and furthest easterly point in Australia. The next day we went to Brisbane, after a koala bushwalk where we didn't see koala. In Brisbane check out Southbank and Queen street after dark.

Our experience with Best price Travel is very good, especially with one consultant Daniel. Suggested to our friends, they also happy the services. I have travelled many countries and tickets were booked by different agents. Past few years, I prefer to consult with Daniel, who is friendly, quick response, Price and Flight suggestions and polite communication. Our recent experience on one Airlines cancelled all flights, I was running post to pillars for refund, but when I contacted Daniel and he did fantastic job connected us and it's in way of getting the refund. He has been incredibly responsive, and Daniel's professionalism and commitment to customer service are excellent. I wholeheartedly recommend his services to anyone seeking efficient and top-notch travel support.
I recently booked a flight and found myself in a situation where I needed to change the date at the last minute. I called the Bestprice Travel team from the airport and they were incredibly helpful. HAPPY TRAVELS REVIEWS
Josephine helped me and my friend book the rest of our entire journey in Australia! She booked everything we wanted to do, places to stay and the journey to get there, as well as getting us the best deals by trying to get everything as cheap as possible suiting our budget. We had spent so much time trying to sort everything out ourselves the last few days but it’s been super hard because of the summer break. She was an incredible help and super sweet! The rest of the crew was also extremely nice and helpful. I would recommend anyone getting help from this company!
Thank you to Matty for helping me out the other day. Was very helpful and knowledgeable for my trip to the Great Barrier Reef. He made sure that I got the best deals and personally called the places that I wanted to get. I’ve already been back to him to book a rental car for a few days. Can’t thank him enough for his service and would 100% recommend booking through happy travels.
Thank you for helping us plan out this awesome trip Mark Leedham of happy travels in Sydney, any information we’ve need you’ve been very fast in helping us out.So far it been as good as you said it was and I can’t wait to carry on this journey.

Welcome to the one of the most desired cities in the world, where you can literally do it all.
Destination information.
The capital of New South Wales, Sydney is one of Australia’s largest and most popular cities. Best known for the iconic Opera House that sits on the water’s edge of the world’s largest natural harbour, easily one of the most recognised landmarks of Australia.
The harbour, along with Circular Quay, is a lively waterfront hub of bars and restaurants. The rest of the city is no exception, with no end of choice for places to eat, drink and party in Sydney; Bondi, Kings Cross and Manly are all home to some of Sydney’s very best nightlife.
Can’t decide between a city escape or surfing break? Snorkelling in the sun or shopping fun? Pancakes for breakfast, prosecco for lunch? Life can be full of tough decisions, but why choose when you can have it all? Visit Sydney and let us be your guide.
Get yourself down the cobbled laneways of “The Rocks” where old meets new. An historic quarter that you simply can’t miss. Architecturally, this area doesn’t disappoint and if you’re searching for that iconic picture, then you’ve come to the right spot. In need of some inspiration, then why not grab a quick drink at one of our favourites, The Glenmore Hotel. An Aussie icon since the early 20’s, its rooftop bar delivers all the right feelings with perfect views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Weekends in the city don’t get much better than this.
Bondi & Beyond
Dedicate yourself to the Bondi Bubble, at least just for one day. We promise it’s more than just sun, sea, and lattes. Australia’s most famous beach is a sight to behold, but there are some other hidden gems just around the corner. Lace up your trainers and put on your fanciest workout gear to fully embrace the Bondi to Coogee coastal walk. Starting at Icebergs famous ocean pool, get ready to have your breath taken away by steep staircases, stunning views, and incredible snorkelling spots. Pack your camera, grab your mask, grab your fins, and start trekking.
Blue Mountains
Dust off your hiking boots, rent a car, hop on a train, or jump on a day tour to the Blue Mountains for an epic day out. While it’s definitely worthwhile to check out the world famous Three Sisters, we recommend taking the road less travelled to some more hidden spots like Wentworth Falls and Pulpit Rock. Catch the sunset over the blue haze before heading back to the city to have a fully triumphant day out.
Whilst many people think Newtown is full of hipsters or the more quirky characters of Sydney, it’s the one suburb of Sydney that reminds us more of London than any other. Maybe it’s the locals, maybe it’s the music, maybe it’s the huge UK influence, or maybe because it feels like there’s more life than a sterile city feel here.
Whether you are on a backpacking budget or looking to ball out amongst the cultured streets of Newtown, all walks of life are welcome here and will definitely find what they are looking for. If you’re big on asian cuisine, we definitely recommend a food tour, stopping at the vast amount of sit downs including Ramen at Rising Sun, Golden Lotus, or Lonely Mouth. Feeling like you want to get a bit more western, check out the eccentric dive bars that Newtown has to offer, including Earl’s Juke Joint and Midnight Special. With jukeboxes, karaoke, tasty spirits, and jolly regulars, these bars will be sure to make you feel at home and that you belong.
Apart from the tasty eats and libations, Newtown also boasts an amazing artistic scene, where you can spot loads of street art that tend to keep up with the contemporary social topics.

WOW, what a great day trip!!!! Our guide Terry was such a wealth of knowledge of all the areas he took us to. Also, since we had a private tour he was willing to alter the trip route based on conversation at the early part of the trip. The BBQ he brought for lunch was homemade and delicious!! Terry was also very willing and excited to share his tremendous knowledge of photography. What a great plus to the tour since there where so many photo ops on it. Would highly recommend his tours!!! We take you on the best scenic drives in Sydney to ensure you don’t miss a single thing during your visit to Australia. Choose from our handcrafted itineraries that have been designed to showcase the region’s scenery, culture & hidden treasures.
What is the group size of a Picture Me day tour?
Up to 10. Larger groups, study groups or convention partner activities can be designed for you.
What is the difference between a bus tour & a private day tour in Sydney?
For most bus tours the operators will use a large coach or bus which typically seat 20 or more people. Their itineraries are restricted due to the group and vehicle size. Your guide has little one-2-one with guests. What many visitors travelling in Sydney don’t realise is that you can lose 20-30 minutes just waiting for people to get on and off a bus tour.
A private or semi-private day tour with Picture Me has a maximum of 8 people using a regular vehicle that has executive level luxury appointments. Not only are we able to visit more places but time isn’t wasted while people get back to their seats. Rather than feeling like sheep being pushed around it’s like travelling with friends in luxury.
Is a day tour the same as a photography course?
No, we give people the choice of relaxing day tours or photography courses. While some of the locations are similar, the inclusions for each activity are different. Our day tours are casual, fun days out where you enjoy the sights of Sydney and its surrounds. Our photography courses are more intensive and aimed at helping people take incredible photos by learning how to use their smartphone or DSLR properly.
Where do we meet or get picked up for a day tour?
Picture Me offers three convenient pickup locations; Central Station, Darling Harbour or The Rocks. These are within minutes of all the most popular hotels in the heart of the city and can also be reached by public transport easily.
We will return all guests to the pickup point or near their city hotel when possible.
Hotel pickup and drop-off is included for all private day tour bookings.
Can children attend a Picture Me day tour in Sydney?
We do not accept children under 15 unless it is on a private tour. Please advise us of child seat requirements at the time of your booking.
Are meals included on Picture Me tours?
Please check each tour for the detailed list of inclusions. Tours that do include a meal will have vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options, although all guests must advise us of those requirements prior to the tour day.
What level of fitness is needed for a Picture Me tour?
Our day tours around Sydney have been designed to be active and outdoors where we will walk across soft sandy beaches, along gentle bush trails and some uneven surfaces. Generally speaking we will walk 10,000 to 13,000 steps. Therefore one of our tours may not be suitable for people with back and joint problems or women in advanced stages of pregnancy.
Are Picture Me Tours all weather?
We have crafted our day tours to take advantage of Sydney’s incredible weather and amazing outdoor scenery. Therefore your enjoyment and safety are our highest priority. Picture Me Sydney we reserve the right to vary the destinations or exclude some locations.
We do supply limited raincoats, beach towels and cold weather apparel. Picture Me Sydney reserves the right to reschedule or cancel a tour due to weather or other circumstance. A full refund is available if alternate dates are not suitable.
Where are the best places to go in Sydney?
We are often asked where visitors should go in Sydney and we have created our day tour itineraries to include some of the most iconic and scenic locations as well as some less known places to visit. Places like the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Opera House and The Rocks are very easy for any visitor staying in the city to visit themselves and there are a number of guided tours available.
Our day tours will suit travellers to Australia who would like a local resident to take them beyond the city to see what is three hours away so that you get to experience more of the country.
Where should you go for a one day trip in Sydney?
Australia surprises many people by its sheer size compared to other places like Europe or the United States of America. To go from Sydney to Melbourne takes about 11 hours by car or a 1.5 hour flight while going to Cairns is a 26 hour drive.
When you visit Sydney there are some great options for one day trips which include visiting the Blue Mountains or Kiama on the South Coast where you can have a full day out and take in some of the most scenic locations.

Sydney in the Fall
"We had an excellent time with Chris. He showed us some beautiful spots in Sydney. We enjoyed seeing Lavender Bay, Luna Park, the Sydney Bridge, seeing the beautiful Australian birds and finishing off in the rocks and Sydney Harbor. Chris had great insight and took some awesome photos for us! "
Best day of our 16 day Australia vacation
"Was in touch with Matt for several months before we traveled Down Under. We told him what we were interested in (scenery and wildlife around Sydney) and he designed a perfect day. Due to our cruise schedule we only had one full day in Sydney before we flew home. Matt picked us up as we left their ship, gave us an amazing day and dropped us off at the Airport in time for our flight home. His tour included an amazing Kangaroo/koala encounter, scenic views, a great lunch at a nice beach, and other special extras. Do yourself a favor and hire Matt. He is very knowledgeable and personable!!!"
Super walking tour with Robyn!
"Robyn has lots of great information, is so friendly and personable and took us to a few places we would have never seen. Great tour! Loved it!"
Fun and educational trip!!
"This tour was really a fun memorable experience for my daughters and myself! We got to see beautiful sceneries, saw some fluffy animals, visited a location wih aboriginal carvings, had lunch in a beautiful settings in avoca beach and also met with a very kind aboriginal artist who welcomed us into his home and shared some of the history of his ancestors with us. Georgia our tour guide was really nice, fun, helpful and knowledgable! We are grareful we go to experience this and would highly recommend Matt and Georgia to anyone who wants to experience Sydney’s surroundings in a day!"
Fantastic intro to Sydney
"Robyn gave us an amazing tour of Sydney. She’s very knowledgeable and highly engaging. I highly recommend her tour! Thanks Robyn!"
Chris “rocks”
"Chris was amazing. We needed a tour outside his comfort zone, but he stepped up to the plate and created the perfect experience for us. I have mobility limitations making walking challenging. He figured out how to show us Sydney up close and personal without taxing me. He found exactly the sights that would interest us and then made it happen. He went above and beyond in every way. "
Tailored to my abilities and the weather
"Robyn was delightful and informative. It was windy and overcast — walking the Sydney Bridge did not appeal to me. She willing changed her normal route. Highly recommend!"
Robyn is great
"Great day with Robyn walking all over Sydney, discovering hidden gems as she shared great historical information and local culture insights. Highly recommend."
Our guide, Robyn, was outstanding!
"What a fabulous day we had on this food tour with Robyn! It was far more than just about food. We got to experience the local Sydney neighborhood of Newtown, learning about the area's history, culture and people as well as the food. Robyn was articulate, personable, highly knowledgeable, and interesting. She was easy to communicate with before our tour, quickly responding to my questions. She was also flexible, adjusting the tour to our group's needs, such as dietary restrictions. We went to a multitude of restaurants and a pub, tasting a large variety of foods and drinks. Everyone in our group loved the experience, and it far exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend it!"
Wonderful tastings and tour guide
"Robyn took great care of us. The tour was tasty, fun, and informative. So glad we started our Sydney adventure here. "
