Trip to York
We really enjoyed our trip to York plus the fact we went straight there without a comfort stop. One thing that slightly annoyed us was that the driver seemed a bit confused as to where he was going to park and I’ve felt it wasn’t the best place. We know he had a satnav as he had kept us up to date with an accident that had happened so why didn’t he use it to guide it to a coach park. Having been to York on numerous coach trips they have always parked near Gillygate, I know that was closed but there were diversion signs as we went on the tour bus and passed by it, seeing numerous coaches parked there. Sorry I wouldn’t have mentioned this if you hadn’t asked me for comments. Otherwise it’s the second time we have been with you and are booked up on future ones.

Had a fab day out to Blackpool
Had a fab day out to Blackpool. I'm a nervous passenger, especially on motorways, but I felt completely safe with the drivers. We had 2 that took it in turns driving which is good and they were friendly and kept us informed throughout. Angela was lovely when I booked and contacted me prior to departure with details of pick up. I parked at the yard - which is really handy - but had I known about the multiple drop offs on return I might have not driven to the depot and got on in town and off near to my home. Great company (both business and other passengers). Will definitely be booking with them again and recommend them to others. Thank you for a lovely day - weather aside 😁🌬️☔.

Hello from G&G Travel; we are Graham Pardoe and Karyna H.
G&G Travel has been in business for over 10 years.
I have travelled extensively over the years and entered the business to help others have exceptional vacations experiences. We get to know what you expect from a trip and help you plan and achieve your goals.
Graham Pardoe
I was a base brat (for those that don’t know the phrase my dad was in the military and we lived in military housing) and travelled quite a bit as a child. We toured Europe, camping in the summer, while stationed in Germany for 4 years and then saw many parts of Canada over the next 15 years. I have done 9 ocean cruises, a great way to travel by the way, on various cruise lines my last one being on Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 sailing the Baltic and visiting the highlight of St. Petersburg. I have also done river cruises in China and Egypt. I have done many land tours going to Machu Pichu in Peru, the Copper Canyon in Mexico, China, India, Dubai, Egypt, Israel and Jordan to name a few. I have taken a wedding group to Cuba and done the all-inclusives in Mexico and parts of the Caribbean.

G&G Travel: An operator developing during the pandemic
The coaching world has changed significantly since March 2020 – and that, perhaps paradoxically, is why G&G Travel of Melton Mowbray has developed over the intervening period.
As G&G Minibuses and with a restricted O-Licence for two vehicles, the business had been around for some time before coronavirus COVID-19 hit. Founded by John Hill of John Hill Coach Sales and named after his daughters Gemma and Georgina, G&G Minibuses was doing well. Then came the pandemic.
“We had work lined up for the months beyond that, all of which was cancelled. Coach sales dried up at the same time. Much of the industry closed temporarily when the nature of the virus became apparent. We were part of that, so we needed to look carefully at what came next,” says John.
G&G Travel: Move into full-time operation is playing a long game
Mindful that the industry would not be shuttered indefinitely, and also of the fact that the market for used coaches was tilted in buyers’ favour even before the virus, a 10-vehicle international O-Licence was applied for to allow expansion of the G&G Minibuses operation. An external Transport Manager (TM) – Colin Rowe – was engaged. The licence was granted three weeks later.
“Moving into operating full-time is part of our response to the pandemic. The industry has been hit hard, and that includes the sales side. Other than in certain types of vehicle, interest from customers there has slowed,” says John.
With that in mind it may sound odd to move into operation at the current time. But a long game is being played.
Among other elements, that tactic will leverage gaps that John believes will still exist when the economy recovers.
Plentiful fleet availability in a depressed market – while challenging for the John Hill Coach Sales business – is beneficial for a new operator.
Five vehicles are currently in use with G&G Travel, although it owns more. Even before restrictions in England were increased in early November 2020, work with schools featured prominently. That will continue when the economy reopens. Rail replacement has been undertaken thanks to the pair of PSVAR-compliant Caetano Levantes on fleet strength.
Two double-decker buses are also in use. They have proved to be beneficial on one contract. There, children from a pair of schools have been split between the upper and lower saloons to allow the full seated capacity to be utilised, barring a handful of positions downstairs.
Attention turns to preparing for the future at G&G Travel
While existing work has been proving enough to keep the aspiring operation ticking over – and the John Hill Coach Sales operation continues to function in the background – attention has more recently turned to planning for both businesses in a post-pandemic world. Day trips and tours are prominent in those thoughts, says John.
Fleet flagship for such duties is a low-mileage Neoplan Tourliner. It is the first coach to receive G&G’s metallic burnt orange livery. Expansion of G&G will hinge on the economic recovery, and much debate has gone into how the business can take advantage, he continues.
“Our plan is not necessarily to work vehicles hard, but to work them profitably. There is no real market in Melton Mowbray for day trips by coach, but we believe that we can create one. It is similar for holidays.
“One of my aspirations is to run weekend breaks to places such as York. We have a lot of space at our operating centre. Customers can park here.
“We will not target the bargain end of the market, but we will give a high-quality product in terms of the vehicle, the service and the hotel used.”
Versatile approach in the future – to work and to vehicles
Effort will also go into extending G&G Travel’s reach among educational establishments. “That will be a big part of our future workload,” says John. “It is important that they know we exist. Extracurricular trips will return. When schools are considering where to go, they need to think about us.”
Although G&G Travel quickly won two home-to-school contracts, it does not aspire to tread on the toes of other operators. It also is not preoccupied with running the newest coaches. Instead, John sees vehicles as assets to do the job.
In addition to the Tourliner, the two Levantes and the pair of double-deckers, G&G Travel has a Volvo B9R with Jonckheere JHV bodywork.
“Our focus is on the right vehicle for the job. Presently I am not interested in a new coach. For us it would be more cost-effective to buy a two-year-old, low-mileage Euro VI model for potentially less than £100,000, if we needed one.”
A lot of learning still to be done by a young operator
Expanding an operation during the biggest crisis ever to hit the coach industry has been challenging. Much learning has been done by John and his team. He is fortunate that the people who work with John Hill Coach Sales are now part of G&G Travel. Colin’s experience as a TM has also been invaluable, and two good drivers have been recruited.
“The biggest challenge now is obtaining my own TM CPC,” says John. “Colin and I share the desire to do things properly. That means we cannot work for nothing.
“The rate has got to be right. If we have everything in place, then costs are also there. While you can never predict when the unexpected might happen, it will at some point. Those things then have to be dealt with.”
Whether G&G Travel would have been formed out of G&G Minibuses had coronavirus COVID-19 not come about is a moot point. Since March 2020, many businesses in the coach industry have been faced with having to diversify to secure survival. John is open to expansion for G&G further down the line, should additional good drivers be available.
“We are still in early days. Operating is not something I ever thought I would get into, but the idea is to spread our wings and create something that I can pass on to my daughters. The industry was hit hard in 2020 and we had little choice other than to move with that.”

Dengarkan apa yang pelanggan kami katakan tentang pengalaman mereka dengan G & G Travel
This was my first time using the services of G & G Travel. The owner, Theresia, was great from start to finish. I went on a seven day Bali Trip with a group of friends, there were ten of us. We had a blast. She got us started early with payment arrangements months in advanced so we didn’t feel overwhelmed or pressured to pay large sums all at once. Theresia makes the experience easy and carefree. As a busy professional who works a lot and really needed a vacation, it was nice to have everything done for me and all I had to do was show up and enjoy my vacation. I plan to work with G & G Travel again and I definitely recommend using Theresia if you want a stress free traveling experience.

The History of the industrialization of Soviet Union 1933 - 1937
The economic tasks of the second five‐year plan, set by the party, were to master the advanced technology of newly built and reconstructed enterprises during the first five‐year plan, complete the technical reconstruction of the entire national economy, create the latest technical base for all its branches and continue the industrial development of the eastern regions of the country. In the second five‐year plan, it was also planned to ensure a higher rate of growth in the production of consumer goods. Based on these tasks, it was necessary to significantly increase the volume of capital construction not only of machine building plants, but also of power plants, enterprises of ferrous and non‐ferrous metallurgy, coal mines, textile and shoe factories.

The task of the first five‐year plan, set by the Communist Party, was to build the foundation of a socialist economy in the shortest possible time in the form of powerful heavy industry and socialist agriculture, to strengthen the countryʹs defense capability, and to eliminate the capitalist elements of town and country. Proceeding from this task, almost three quarters of capital investments in industry were directed to heavy industry, which produces the means of production. The implementation of the first five‐year plan took place in a difficult situation and with enormous difficulties associated with the capitalist encirclement, the class struggle within the country, the actions of the right opposition against the high rates of socialist construction, and the attack on the kulak.
This collection is an integral part of an all-Union series of documents and materials on the history of industrialization of the USSR (1926-1941). It contains documents describing the industrial development of the country during the third five-year plan (before the start of the Great Patriotic War) and thus completes the all-union volumes of the series. By the end of the second five-year plan, the Soviet Union had successfully completed, in the main, the building of a socialist society. The victory of socialism opened up tremendous opportunities for the development and improvement of the productive forces of Soviet society, its political and spiritual life.
Socialist industrialization is the most important part of Leninʹs plan for building socialism in our country. ʺThe only material basis of socialism,ʺ wrote V. I. Lenin, ʺmay be large‐scale machine industry capable of reorganizing agriculture as wellʺ

This report assesses the Soviet effort to improve economic performance by improving the quality of machine-building products. The author contends that the modernization program addresses only the symptoms of economic inefficiency, not the root cause. The senior Soviet leadership does not yet have an understanding that the goals set for the modernization program depend on fundamental reform of Soviet economic institutions. The Soviet enterprise is not the equivalent of the Western firm -- the Soviet enterprise manager is subject to more uncertainty, retains less control, and faces less well specified performance criteria. Emphasis on the adoption of new machinery may impose a net cost on the economy rather than a benefit -- and with disappointing results. The success of an effort to modernize Soviet industry depends upon efficient use of information, requiring more substantial reform of the economic system. True modernization is possible only with an adequate system for setting price...

This paper considers modernisation as a historical phenomenon in the worldwide context and from the point of view of the historical development of Russia. The interrelations of the stages of Russian modernisation and their principal features, as well as the key positions, causes and results of industrial construction as its main components, are analysed. Much attention is paid to the most important features and historical role of Soviet modernisation, in particular its endogenous character. The stipulation of the forced version of Soviet industrialisation is shown. We conclude that the success of an industrialisation process is determined not only by the form of the political system, but also by the civilisational features of the particular country.

IN THIS ARTICLE WE AIM TO SHOW THE CHANGING ECONOMIC SIGNIFICANCE of defence outlays in the period of the second five-year plan (1933-37).'This period emerges as a time of transition. Rapid rearmament had been begun during the first five-year plan (1928-32), but from a very low base. In terms of the rising volume of activity, the following period was less hectic. However, it was a period of exceptionally rapid change in military technology and the technological level of defence industry products.
This work, "The development of the Soviet Economy" gives, in accordance with Stalin's periodization of the history of the CPSU(b), a picture of the development of the Soviet economy. It is a manual for teachers of political economy, Marxism-Leninism, the history of the national economy of the USSR, for graduate students in economics, students of socio-economic universities and party and Soviet activists.
From War Communism (1917/18 to 1921) and the New Economic Policy (N.E.P.) there was continual debate and revision of economic policy, on labour management and economic planning, till in 1928 the Stalin faction in the Bolshevik Party launched an all drive to "collectivize agriculture" and launch the "Forced Industrialization" drive from 1928. The effects and "politics of production" is discussed critically.

The establishment of the Bolshevist regime in Russia can be considered by us as the succession of events involving the search for the best possible ways of managing the economics, aimed at the formation of sustainable economic growth. The aim of the given research is studying of the peculiarities of the establishment of the workers’ control authorities and factory committees on the premises of the Kazan province in 1917-1921 years. The review of the organizational changes in the management system during the post revolutionary period shows us some accomplishments of the Soviet regime
