Grand Tour Release Date: When’s The Next Episode Coming Out?
The Grand Tour is one of the most popular car shows on television, featuring three of the world’s most famous car enthusiasts, Jeremy Clarkson , Richard Hammond, and James May . The show has been on hiatus for some time, but last year they filmed the next episode in Eastern Europe. In this article, we will discuss the release date, story, and cars featured in the Grand Tour Season 5 Special, which is set in Eastern Europe.
Table of Contents
Is The Grand Tour cancelled?
While it’s been confirmed by the presenters that the show isn’t cancelled, The Grand Tour may be taking an extended break until 2024 . This update comes from a source closely connected to the show which recently shared this news.
Since the show’s transition from a tent and live audience format to more elaborate and highly produced road trip episodes, The Grand Tour has been releasing special episodes sporadically over the past few years. However, recent reports suggest that fans of the show may have to wait even longer than expected for new episodes to be released.
Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May were in the process of filming a new episode in Europe during mid-2022. However, with episodes being reportedly pushed back until 2024, fans of the show will have to exercise patience and wait for new content.
Next Episode Release Date
Because the next episode is on a reported hiatus, we have no idea when it will be released.
This is a shame, as just after filming the Eastern European Special, Jeremy Clarkson was involved in an interview where he talked about what they’d been doing in the European countries, as well as when it could reach Prime Video.
“Well, we came in through the mountains from Hungary, so it’s just straight away very pretty. And then it stays very pretty to here. So it’s just very pretty,” he said. “Well, this is, it is actually the finish point for a long – about a 2,200 kilometer drive from Gdansk at the top of Poland. All the way down to Krakow, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and then here.”
He was further asked how long it would be before its release:
“A very long time. Is it six months, perhaps? Six months,” he tells the interviewer.
Unfortunately, if this was true, the episode would already have already been released to Prime Video, so we’re thinking he may have misspoken here.
Eastern Europe
The Grand Tour Season 5 Special will take place in Eastern Europe, a region that is known for its stunning scenery and fascinating culture. The episode will feature the hosts driving through several countries in the region, including Hungary, Slovakia, and Poland. The team has promised that the episode will be filled with exciting challenges, stunning locations, and of course, plenty of car-related shenanigans.
In the Summer of 2022, The Grand Tour team returned from Europe after a long stint of filming. Travelling from Poland to Slovenia, the trio drove 2,000km to bring us what looks to be the best episode so far.
Arriving in Gdansk
Clarkson, Hammond, and May leave Oxford International Airport on June 19th on a private jet. They landed in Gdansk , Poland soon after, where their journey began.
Here, they joined their three cars, a Chevrolet SSR, a Crosley Convertible, and a Mitsuoka Le-Seyde which they took to Długia Street. According to Google Maps, this is completely pedestrianised, but according to local reports, the filming was done under secrecy with not even the local law enforcement knowing about the team and their plans.
This area is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the city leading from the Golden Gate to Długi Targ square. It looks like the trio drove the length of this, as well as around the post-shipyard areas, the port, and Westerplatte.
This is where our assumptions begin. Gdansk is home to where the first gunshots of World War II were shot, and this theme continues to a few of the locations the team travels to later in the week of filming.
Before they left the city, a hot rod based on a 1959 Ford Popular was also spotted. This will become more prevalent later on.
Did The Grand Tour Travel to Ukraine?
It was a couple of days into filming when fans started wondering if The Grand Tour was heading to Ukraine. As we know, Jeremy has been very passionate about supporting the people of Ukraine since the war with Russia started, so at this point, it wasn’t such a stretch, especially when Jeremy showed his support of driving armoured vehicles into the country on Twitter.
As we now know, the team didn’t make it to Ukraine. Instead, they travelled South-West.
Zielona Gora – The Grand Tour Visits Vineyards
We followed the trio as they travelled to Zielona Gora, a city in the Lubusz province of the country. It’s known for its endless vineyards so it wouldn’t be a surprise if we see Clarkson, Hammond and May tasting some wine at this point of the episode.
It also has connections to WWII, with it being reported that 30% of the city had been damaged by the Germans.
Richard Hammond Crashes At Tor Poznań Racetrack
Continuing West, the trio were spotted at a racetrack. I did some investigation work and figures out that this was the Tor Poznań racetrack in the city of Poznan. The track almost became part of the F1 calendar in the ’80s thanks to its connection to Polish F1 driver Robert Kubica, but this never came to fruition.
This didn’t stop Clarkson, Hammond and May from driving some open-wheeled race cars around the track. As you heard, Richard Hammond lived up to his antics and crashed into a barrier . He was unhurt but the car sustained a little front-end damage. According to our sources, this was caused by the engine seizing. Hammond was seen next to the wreck in a racing suit with May standing next to him looking a bit disappointed in his fellow presenter.
Judging from a photo of Jeremy with a stopwatch hanging around his neck, it looks like they were doing timed laps here.
James May Breaks Down
As the trio headed from Poznan to Lower Silesia, Hammond’s bad luck was passed to James May as his Crosley broke down . We don’t know what happened to the car, but it was pushed onto the back of a trailer as May waited for a replacement.
What was that replacement? The hot rod, of course.
The Grand Tour Visits a German Concentration Camp
Next stop: Jeremy posted a photo to his Instagram account of Stalag Luft 3, a German concentration camp in the town of Sagan, Lower Silesia. This continues the WWII theme and should act as a sobering moment in the episode. Around this time the team also visited Krakow.
Leaving The Country and Entering Slovakia
After a brief drive through Czechia, the trio was seen driving through Slovakia, the country where there are the most cars produced per capita. Here they visited Patak Motors who showed the presenters their car, the Roadster.
Jeremy Clarkson Drives The Skoda 1100 OHC Spider
Still in Slovakia, Jeremy gets into the driver’s seat of a Skoda 1100 OHC Spider , which he describes as “absolutely fantastic”, at Piešťany Airport. At the same time, James May was spotted driving the KleinVision AirCar .
The Road To The Finale
The trio continue their travels through Bratislava where they go cycling by the Danube River before continuing to Hungary, and eventually Slovenia.
Slovenia, The Final Destination Of The Grand Tour European Special
Here, Clarkson and Hammond were spotted on Lake Bled without May in the northwest of Slovenia in the Julian Alps. Again, we don’t quite know what they were doing, but they were seen rowing a boat onto the lake before Hammond stood up, rocking the boat.
Despite this being an incredibly popular area for tourists, barely any footage from around the area was taken which is a shame.
The Cars of the next Grand Tour Special
Jeremy clarkson – mitsuoka le-seyde.
Based on a Nissan Silvia S13, this sports car is made to resemble a Zimmer Golden Spirit. under the body panels it retains a lot of the same running gear as the iconic Japanese sports car, but as these cars are so tunable, it wouldn’t be a surprise to find out it’s been modified in some way.
In an off-white, it’s definitely the most identifiable of the three cars used in the upcoming episode.
Richard Hammond – Chevrolet SSR
The Chevrolet SSR is very, very cool. Standing for Super Sport Roadster, the SSR is powered by either a 300 horsepower or 380 horsepower V8 depending on the year. The year of this exact car I can’t figure out, but it’s safe to say these things were negatively reviewed when they were revealed. But its retro shape has kind of stood the test of time and I’m really excited to hear what the show’s resident American thinks of this interesting but impractical car.
James May – Crosley Convertible
The Crosley Convertible is yet another car from America which tried to capitalise on the lack of cars available after the war. The owner of Crosley, Powel Crosley, Jr., actually made his money from refrigerators and radios before WW2, but 1946 brought this horrible thing. Creating just 26 and a half horsepower from its 725cc engine, this slab-sided vehicle likely won’t be fast enough to stay in front of the camera for too long.
Although this might actually be a good thing if you know the mess James got into the last episode …
We spotted this car broken down later in the process of filming, so it will be interesting to see if it makes it.
Backup Car – 1959 Ford Popular
A hot rod, based on a 1959 Ford Popular , can be seen from photos of The Grand Tour trio taken during filming. Painted in a pearlescent blue with writing down the side, this car is certainly a standout part of the episode. And after May breaks down , he can be seen driving it later during filming.
The 110 OHC Spider, or “Red Racer”, was released in 1956. The idea for the car was only imagined a number of months before this, but Skoda was quickly able to spin up production to produce this sleek, low-slung, high-performance car.
And that it was, despite wielding only a 1.1-litre four-cylinder engine producing 85 horsepower, it could reach 124mph at full chat. This was a lot of power at the time and the reason? High-octane aviation fuel. Who knew Skoda used to be so cool?
Jeremy takes this for a spin , but we’re unsure exactly where.
James May Flies The AirCar
Similarly to an old Top Gear episode, James May has apparently taken to the air in the AirCar, a car that’s capable of flight.
Powered by a 1.6-litre BMW engine, the AirCar has been issued a certificate of airworthiness by Slovakia’s Transport Authority. the Slovakian company achieved its first intercity flight in June 2021 where it hit speeds of 170 kilometres per hour (105 mph) over a distance of 1,000km. Once on the land, a single press of a button transforms it into a car.
KleinVision, the makers of AirCar, said the following:
“Based on the fact that the aircraft met the conditions of national regulations set for individually manufactured aircraft and the required level of safety was demonstrated, the Slovak Transport Authority (STA) has issued a special certificate of airworthiness. “After obtaining the type certificate, it can manufacture the aircraft commercially.”

Ekipa The Grand Tour w Polsce
Legendarna trójka prezenterów motoryzacyjnych od kilku dni przemierza nasz kraj w bardzo nietypowych samochodach, realizując specjalny odcinek „The Grand Tour”. W Trójmieście, według relacji, Clarkson podróżował ulicami Gdyni i Gdańska - Mitsuoki Le-Seyde, Hammond – Chevroletem SSR, a May – Crosley Convertible.

The world’s worst wax figure museum is right here… in Kraków
Published by pracownik on june 26, 2023 june 26, 2023.
Wondering what to see during your course at Prolog? Visit the most ridiculous wax figure museum the world has seen!
“The Grand Tour” crew visited the Kraków museum, Polonia Wax Museum. There are many signs that the trip will remain in the journalists’ memory for a long time. The sight of some of the exhibits of this museum, deeply surprised the Brits….For example, journalists at the Krakow museum had the opportunity to admire wax figures of Prince William and Kate Middleton – which, unfortunately, did not quite resemble their prototypes. When seeing the royal couple, members of the group could not contain their reactions. “What the hell is that? Oh good God!” – the journalists asked, wondering. “Is that Keira Knightley? It’s not even close to Keira Knightley. I’d like to see Keira Knightley standing here, next to this,” – joked Clarkson.
This wasn’t the first time this particular museum became an Internet sensation. InMarch, the Internet got hot after the New York Post published an article about it. The museum was so bad that even the New York Post couldn’t let go of the article. The entire Internet laughed at the likenesses of figures such as, Prince William and Duchess Kate. There were also figures of Donald Trump, David Guetta. However, all these figures are far from the actual appearance of these people. What’s more, in the very popular Tripadvisor portal for rating attractions, restaurants and other places frequently visited by tourists, this museum has a rating of 5/5. A visit to this place obviously deserves this rating considering the humorous aspect!!! As we say in Poland, “ubaw po pachy gwarantowany” meaning that something is very, very funny and the laughter will be endless
Normal 0 21 false false false PL X-NONE X-NONE
One visitor correctly said that “the exhibition is so bad that you MUST visit it. This place is a must-see for any visitor to our beautiful Krakow!

Self-guided walking tour of Old Town Krakow
I stayed in Krakow for a night and was in this charming city for two days. Of course work kept me occupied and confined to a hotel, but end of April, the crisp spring weather and long days of sunlight did make me lucky to go around the town and explore. Thanks to my lovely colleague and friend who took me around a quick tour of the town and being so patient as I stopped now and then to click pictures.
Krakow is Poland’s second largest city and supposed to be a financial and IT hub. The city dates back to 7 th century. After Poland was invaded by Germans during World War II, Krakow was the headquarters of the German occupied Poland. Unlike Warsaw, this city was not heavily plundered and still retains most of its old historic buildings and monuments.
Irrespective of the time you are here, its fairly easy to understand the town and navigate. My short and working knowledge of the town which should assist anyone who wants to wander around in the least bit of time and enjoy Krakow. The new part of Krakow is quite swanky and has many state of the art Business Parks. Multinational conglomerates have made a beeline to this city owing its multilingual workforce, good infrastructure and strategic location with a proximity to Germany, Czek Republic, Austria.
So here is a guide to all what you can see around Krakow in a short time.
1. Grand Square
The UNESCO listed old town of Krakow is the one to visit to enjoy the old world charm. Like many other European towns, it is also straight from a sketchbook. Criss-crossed with cobbled streets, towering church spires, outlined with quaint restaurants, its large town square, called Grand Square is probably one of the largest and most beautiful in Europe.
2. Town Hall Tower
While you stroll around the Grand Square, there is a lot to see and observe. The most obvious monument to catch your eyes undoubtedly would be the Town Hall Tower with the ceremonious clock glaring with its hands spread out.
3. St Mary’s Basilica
Next overlooking the Square is the grand pair of towers of St Mary’s Basilica . Yes like you I had the same question in my mind, why this Basilica has two towers? I have always seen one dome or pulpit; well there is a fable around it, of two brothers building each one. Up from the taller tower, goes the daily ‘bugle call’ called ‘hejnal mariacki’. It is believed this was used as a watchtower and a trumpeter was sounding off alert to the people of the town of approaching Mongolian army when he was shot in his neck. To keep the tradition alive and honour him, today every hour the bugle sounds off and abruptly breaks off mid-melody. Do not miss it!
The Basilica is open for prayer but for a visit you have to pay 10 Zloty. I wasn’t expecting this at all, when I entered the interiors blew me off completely. Sheer opulence and richness drips from every corner of the Basilica. The ceiling is an interesting starry sequenced with a striking blue background. The altar is the highlight with its large altar piece which is supposed to be the largest Gothic one in the world. Golden gilded figures, elaborate carvings and lavish interiors, you wouldn’t be able to get over it. Honestly I didn’t know when to stop looking at this sight and exit. Its like you cant get enough of it.
4. Krakow Cloth Mill
Supposed to be the World’s oldest shopping mall, The Krakow Cloth Mill dates back to the 16 th century, is right in the middle of the Main Square. A beautiful piece of architecture houses neatly lined shops inside mostly selling handmade artifacts. A must visit!
5. St Aldabert Church
Huddled in the corner of the Market Square is this bundle of domes, the 11 th century Church of St Adalbert. More than 1000 years old, this is one of the oldest stone churches. Of course you cannot miss this one as well, as its right there though a little intimidated by St Mary’s Basilica’s flamboyance.
Next to the St Aldalbert Church is something that caught my eye. A quaint cart of souvenirs and knick knacks. While the masses were busy in clicking selfies in the Market Square, this small treasure trove certainly finds a place on my blog.
This whole place is just all in a square so the best way of course is to walk around. However you can also try these chariots driven some lovely Polish women to take a relaxed tour of the whole town.
6. Royal Route
After having a good walk and clicking lots of pictures, we moved to another part of the town, towards the castle. Easiest way is to walk through the Grodzka Street from the Old Town. Apparently this is also called the ‘Royal Route or Royal Road’ as it is flanked by monuments. As you walk through this street, you will actually feel like one of the Royals as you cross various historic buildings, churches, giant statues.
7. The Church of St. Peters and St. Paul
As we keep walking, we cross another beautiful and very famous Church, The Church of St Peters and Paul, first Baroque Church of Poland. The most striking feature is the raised platform with statues of the Apostles. The interiors are beautiful and opulent too.
8. Wavel Castle
As we left the Old Town Square behind us, we reach the Wavel Castle situated on the Wavel Hill. The evening views of the Castle were fantastic. Perched high this fortress has treasures inside it which we reserved to explore the next day. I will also write a separate post on the beautiful Wavel Castle.
The setting sun glistening the Castle Walls with many stories hidden behind its high walls.
Our walk for last few hours was one of the most amazing ones I have had in Europe. Truly felt transported back a few centuries and walking the beautiful streets amidst the timeless historical giants looking down at us. The river Vistula adds an extra charm to this idyllic town. As we called it a day and proceed ahead to the Jewish part of the town called Kazimierz to celebrate my belated birthday, we stopped for a while to admire the sunset on the horizon of this beautiful river town; And I would say my best click of the day.

Packing for a guided tour will vary depending on the duration of the trip, the time of year, and the activities planned. Here is a general packing list to help you get started:
Passport and Travel Documents : Ensure you have your passport , travel insurance , and any necessary travel documents.
- Comfortable walking shoes: Cobblestone streets and uneven terrain require comfortable footwear.

Remember to pack light and versatile items that can be mixed and matched for different outfits. Laundry facilities are often available, or you can have your clothes laundered at hotels during your trip. It's also a good idea to pack a small bag or backpack to bring on the coach for day trips and excursions, leaving your larger luggage at the hotel.
Electricity
American appliances run on 110-120 volts at 60 Hz, while European appliances run on 220-230 volts at 50 Hz.
As a result, American appliances designed for use in the United States (typically 120 volts at 60 Hz) may not be directly compatible with the higher voltage used in European countries. Plugging a 120-volt appliance into a 220-240-volt outlet without the appropriate voltage converter or transformer can cause damage to the appliance or pose safety risks.
If you plan to bring American appliances to Europe, you will need a voltage converter or transformer to change the voltage to 220-240 volts from 110 volts. Additionally, you will likely need a plug adapter to fit the American-style plug into the European power outlets. All of Europe operates on the same two round-pronged outlets (Type C).
It's important to note that not all appliances are compatible with voltage converters, so it's essential to check the labels or user manuals of your devices before using them with a voltage converter. Some electronic devices, such as laptops, smartphones, and camera chargers, are dual voltage and can support 120V and 220-240V, so they may not require a voltage converter, but a plug adapter will still be necessary.
To avoid any issues with electrical compatibility during your travels, consider purchasing appliances specifically designed for the voltage used in the region you'll be visiting or use appropriate voltage converters and plug adapters to ensure the safe operation of your American appliances in Europe.
We recommend purchasing an adapter with a voltage converter so you can pack less. And to pick up any necessary adapters or converters for your electronic devices before departing on your guided tour and bringing them with you.
Hair Dryers in Your Hotel
Hair dryers are common accessories in hotels. Should you want to bring your own, though, you will need to bring an adapter and voltage converter or make sure it is dual voltage by checking the label for INPUT AC 120V - 240V or a switch that can be set to 125V or 250V. Many devices have this feature, so it's worth checking before you travel. If you need a hair dryer during your trip but can't find one in your hotel room, you can inquire with the hotel staff. Many hotels will be able to provide a hair dryer upon request, either at the front desk or through housekeeping.
Air Conditioning
Air conditioning is commonly available in European hotels, restaurants, and public spaces, especially in major cities and tourist areas, but it is worth noting that the settings will differ from what you are used to in the USA.
However, it's important to note that not all accommodations or historic buildings may have air conditioning, particularly in more traditional or rural settings. Most hotels in Europe can provide a portable fan for additional room cooling if requested. Your Travel Director will be on hand to assist you throughout your trip.
Traveling by coach
Our modern air-conditioned coaches have been selected with your comfort in mind. Your Travel Director will familiarize you with all the onboard features, including a washroom fitted for your convenience and comfort. Regular stops are made to stretch your legs, take refreshments, fill up your water bottles, and use the facilities.
Airport transfers
Airport transfers to and from the airport on the first and last days of your tour are complimentary only if you are traveling on a tour operated by Trafalgar, Insight Vacations, or Luxury Gold, and your flight times coincide with the shuttle-coach transfer timings. Learn more about Airport Transfers here .
To enable you to personalize your tour experience, you will find a number of Optional Experiences designed to complement the itinerary. These are designed to offer a deeper insight into the culture and character of the areas to be visited and provide some wonderful highlights to your travels. The optional program is designed to let you experience more of what interests you and to get the most from your vacation without replacing or overlapping with anything included in an itinerary.
The majority of Optional Experiences will be offered to you by your Travel Director at the beginning of your trip. Some may be subject to change, depending on the time you are traveling or local circumstances, including weather and days of the week. Your Travel Director will provide further information.
Usually, most Optional Experiences will be priced in the local currency, but please read through the details of individual optional experiences for specific information. Exact payment options will be advised locally by your Travel Director/Local Representative for each Optional Experience, but in many cases, cash, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express are all accepted.
It is recommended to have travel insurance that covers medical expenses while abroad.
In order to ensure a healthy and enjoyable trip, we strongly suggest that you pack a plentiful supply of any medication you may need while on vacation. Here’s what you need to know about traveling with medications .
Prior to traveling, please notify GET of any disability requiring special assistance or any specific dietary needs that you may have, and we will strive to accommodate these.
It's essential to ensure that your routine vaccinations are up-to-date before traveling to any destination. Routine vaccinations may include vaccinations for measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, and influenza.
When traveling with GET, baggage handling at hotels, service charges, and tips for hotel wait staff (for included meals) will all be taken care of by your Travel Director. There are, however, a few instances where individual tipping is welcome.
Local Specialists
It is customary to show appreciation for the insights, stories, and know-how shared with you by the Local Specialists, and we suggest a gratuity equivalent to $1.00-$2.00 USD per person per half day.
Your Coach Driver and Travel Director
The trip cost does not include gratuities for your Travel Director and Driver. At the end of your trip, you may express appreciation to your Travel Director and Driver for their excellent service and the personal attention you received. Gratuities are given at the discretion of each guest, and a suggested amount per person/per day is listed in your travel documents.
For your convenience and ease, there is an option to pre-pay gratuities for the Travel Director and Driver at the time of booking.
Hotel services
It is customary to tip hotel staff for room service delivery if the charge has not already been added to the bill. Where ice machines are not available, and you receive ice from the bar, a small tip to the bartender is always appreciated.

- Visiting Poland – Krakow, Gdansk and more – plan your city break for 2022
Why visit Poland in 2022?
A better question is ‘Why not?’. With Tatra mountains in the south and the Baltic Sea in the north, Poland provides an array of activities and sights. In Poland’s cities, you will find a lot of history, nice architecture and good food. There are also some hidden gems that you would not expect to find like the sand dunes in Słowiński National Park . Poland is also a good place for active travellers who like to spend time outdoors. Nature comes alive in spring offering many green spaces to enjoy. If you’re looking for an affordable holiday in a place that is not overtaken by crowds, choosing Poland as your next trip is something you won’t regret.
What is the best time to visit Poland?
Located in Central Europe, Poland has four seasons. Depending on what you want to do, you can have an enjoyable time all year round. Some places can look completely different in the summer months compared to winter. Summers can be very hot and are great if you want to hit the beach and spend some time by the sea. Keep in mind, however, that they also tend to be very crowded. Early autumn may be better if you’re looking to escape the crowds, enjoy pleasant weather and lower prices. The winter months can naturally be very cold, but you can still have a lot of fun. In December, you will find charming Christmas markets in most cities and it’s the best time to have a glass of mulled wine. And if you’re looking forward to skiing or other snow activities, then visiting the Tatra mountains in winter will be right up your alley.
Best cities to visit in Poland in 2022
On our list, you’ll find well-connected cities that have their own airports. Apart from being interesting to visit, some of them are great gateways to the surrounding areas and getting to see more of this beautiful country. Without further ado, let’s delve into the best places to visit in Poland.
Krakow – the city of Polish King’s
Since MrShuttle originated in Krakow, we admit we may be biased. However, we genuinely think Krakow is the most beautiful city in Poland . If you had to choose just one Polish city to visit, then we’d undoubtedly suggest this one. As a cultural centre of Poland and one of its oldest cities, Krakow is fantastic if you’re looking for a city with long history, magical atmosphere and beautiful architecture.
UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1978
Krakow’s Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the city’s main attraction. It has the largest medieval market square in Europe , with the Cloth Hall right in the middle of it. This picturesque place is also where you’ll find St Mary’s Basilica . This gothic church is featured on many postcards and is famous for a trumpet signal ( Hejnał mariacki ) played from its taller tower every hour. Another important sight in Krakow is the Wawel Castle situated on the bank of the Vistula River. By the way, while visiting the castle, don’t miss the Wawel dragon . We also recommend going to the city’s former Jewish Quarter (called Kazimierz ) which you can read more about here –> https://mrshuttle.com/kazimierz-district-in-krakow-charming-streets-with-unique-history/ . Since it’s one of the must-see places in Krakow, you can book a Golf Cart tour to visit Kazimierz or our Krakow Private City Walk .
More than the city center
Although the city center is reason enough to visit Krakow, this city has much more to offer. Its location in the vicinity of other tourist attractions makes it a great destination if you want to experience more of the country. Day trips from Krakow are particularly easy and at MrShuttle we aim to offer you the most convenient tours so that you can see all the best places in the surrounding area. First of all, you can visit Wieliczka Salt Mine , a hidden gem just a short ride from Krakow. Many tourists coming to Krakow may also wish to pay a visit to Auschwitz .
On top of that, in less than 2 hours, fans of the mountains can get to Zakopane , a relatively small town and Poland’s winter resort. There, you can visit Tatra National Park , see mountain lakes, try local cheese (called Oscypek ) and walk along Krupowki Street. In winter and early spring it’s a top place for skiing, while in the summer, you can find many hiking trails . If hiking is something you’re interested in, take a look at our post about the best day hikes in the Tatras .
As you can see, we have lots of great tours in Krakow . You can check them all out here –> https://mrshuttle.com/destination/poland/krakow/?tours . Make sure to have a look at some of these highlights :
Auschwitz Birkenau & Salt Mine One Day Tour
Ojcow National Park Tour
Nowa Huta Tour
Krakow Memorial Route Tour with the Schindler’s Factory
Gothic architecture, beaches and interesting museums await you in Gdansk. A favourite in the summer because of its proximity to the Baltic Sea , Gdansk is a fantastic destination at any time of the year. Due to its interesting and rich history, Gdansk is quite an important and unique city on the map of Poland. The architectural beauty of Gdansk, from city gates to the town hall, attracts many visitors every year. Are you going to be next?
Northern Poland: see the best cities on the Baltic Coast
History buffs will likely enjoy visiting the Museum of the Second World War and the European Solidarity Centre . Those who are looking to rest on the beach can quickly get to Sopot , a popular seaside resort that forms part of the Polish Tricity along with Gdańsk and Gdynia. You can easily see all three cities during our Tricity & Westerplatte 1 Day Tour . Additionally, Gdansk is close to the gigantic Malbork Castle , a UNESCO World Heritage Site that will likely floor you with its size and Teutonic history.
Gdansk also allows for a visit to Stutthof Concentration Camp which is situated just about 22 miles away. It was here that the German Nazi concentration camp Stutthof operated almost from the beginning to the end of the war – the first and longest operating concentration camp. Read more about Visiting Stutthof Death Camp from Gdansk on our blog.
For more ideas on what to do and see in Gdańsk , check out this post and have a look at other tours we have on offer.
This city’s name is pronounced in Polish much different to how it is read in English. Wroclaw (pronounced approximately Vrot swaf with the stress on the first syllable) is not as popular as Krakow or Warsaw, but it’s definitely worth visiting. Like other Polish cities, Wroclaw formed part of various kingdoms over the past millennia. The Oder River runs through the city and then runs on to form part of the natural land border between Poland and Germany. Wroclaw is surrounded by rivers and is home to more than 100 bridges . Thanks to this fact, the city has the nickname Polish Venice .
The beautiful Old Town
The Old Town is the city’s most popular attraction with its beautiful market square surrounded by colourful architecture. At the center of the main square stands the Old Town Hall which dates back to the 13th century. Wroclaw is also known for gnomes which appear in random corners around the city. There are too many of them to count, but trying to find them provides a lot of fun for kids and adults alike. Not to mention the amusing photos you can have by posing with them.
At the moment, our list of tours in Wroclaw where you can find some real gems:
Wroclaw Walking Private City Guided Tour
Pearls of Lower Silesia Tour Day Tour
Karkonosze Polish Mountains Day Tour from Wroclaw
Secrets of the World War II Private Day Tour
The capital city of Poland , Warsaw, could not be missing from our list of the best cities to visit. As the largest city in the country, you can expect a lot of hustle and bustle in Warsaw. Situated in eastern Poland, Warsaw has a painful history, having been almost completely destroyed in World War II. The city centre has since been rebuilt and the Old Town reconstructed. Apart from the Main Market Square, popular attractions include the Royal Castle, the Palace of Culture and Science and Royal Lazienki Park.
We also recommend visiting a museum dedicated to the Warsaw Uprising of 1944 and the Fryderyk Chopin Museum. Before going to Warsaw, have a look at the top 10 things to do there.
Planning a city break away from the crowds? Consider visiting Poznan in western Poland. Although it’s one of the most important cities in Poland, Poznan is not very touristy. With a large number of students, you can expect to find many affordable bars and restaurants. We recommend heading to the Old Town to stroll around the old market square and see the Town Hall which is quite a sight. Not far from there, art enthusiasts will find the National Museum in Poznan with an extensive collection of paintings.
If you happen to be in Poznan on the 11th of November, make sure to head to Saint Martin Street ( ulica Święty Marcin ) to see a colourful parade. This is also the time to try the regional delicacy that is St. Martin’s Croissant , although you’ll likely find it in Poznań any time of the year.

Other cities you may wish to visit in Poland
In case you’ve already been to Poland and maybe even visited all the cities we mentioned above, here are a few more suggestions. These cities are less popular, but each of them has something interesting to offer.
Located in Lesser Poland, Lublin probably doesn’t ring any bells. Believe it or not, at some point in history this city was quite significant for the country. This is where the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth was established in 1569. At the time, Lublin had a strategic location between Vilno and Krakow. Today, Lublin attracts with its pretty Old Town, historic churches and numerous festivals. The Lublin Museum located in the Lublin Castle is among the largest museums in Eastern Poland and exhibits an impressive collection of paintings and art.
Szczecin (roughly pronounced ‘shchechin’) is a port city in northwestern Poland near the German border. The city is one of the biggest in the country but does not have any particularly famous tourist attractions. Nevertheless, it’s a nice place to visit for a city break. Like most Polish cities, it features a charming Old Town where you can find numerous bars and restaurants. There’s also the Pomeranian Dukes Castle where many events like concerts take place. Szczecin is also recognizable for the building of the Szczecin Philharmonic Hall . It was designed by Catalan architect Alberto Veiga and provides a contrast between old and modern architecture.
At MrShuttle, we offer some convenient transfers to Szczecin and from Szczecin Airport. Make sure to check them out .
Although a relatively new city, Katowice is a city that benefits from good airport connections. When flying with budget airlines, it’s possible that you will fly to Katowice. Largely an industrial city connected especially to coal mining and steelworks, it can be a good place to visit if you’re looking for something off the beaten path. We recommend visiting the Silesian Museum where you can learn about the Silesian region. There’s also Spodek , a one of a kind building known in the whole of Poland (it looks like a spaceship). Spodek is a large indoor venue where many concerts take place.
Although at the moment we don’t have any tours in Katowice, we offer plenty of transfers to and from Katowice . For example, if you’d like to visit Katowice just for a day or two, we can provide you with a private transfer from Krakow or Wroclaw. Check out all our Katowice transfers here .
Have a great time in Poland!
Now that you know what are some of the best cities to visit in Poland this year, we hope you enjoy your holiday. No matter which city you choose, we’ll certain you’ll have a nice experience. To make the most of your visit, have a look at the tours and transfers we offer in Poland.
