THE OFFSPRING IN CONCERT:   One of the most famous punk bands of all time, The Offspring are still igniting audiences with their explosive live shows. In concert the band delivers impassioned performances of audience favorites like “Come Out and Play”, “Pretty Fly (for a White Guy)”, and “Gone Away”. With spitfire drums, catchy basslines, and distorted guitars, the band blasts their way through their songs with an adrenaline-fueled blend of polished musicianship and devil-may-care attitude. Coming off their hugely successful Smash: 20th Anniversary Tour, the group is keeping their hot streak alive by bringing their incendiary live shows to audiences around the world. BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:   The Offspring formed in 1986 in Huntington Beach, CA with original members Dexter Holland (vocals/guitar), Greg K. (bass), and Kevin “Noodles” Wasserman (lead guitar). Behind the strength of hit singles “Come Out and Play”, “Self Esteem”, and “Gotta Get Away” the band’s 1994 breakthrough album Smash launched them to international superstardom. They followed up in 1997 with the platinum-certified Ixnay on the Hombre, adding the hits “All I Want” and “Gone Away” to their impressive catalog. Their eclectic 1998 album Americana proved that they were one of the era’s most potent and versatile hit-making machines with the serious tone of megahit “The Kids Aren’t Alright”, which stood in stark contrast to humorous singles like “Pretty Fly (for a White Guy)” and “Why Don’t You Get a Job”. Since then the band has continued to record and release material, including the double-platinum Conspiracy of One in 2000. While working on a follow up to their 2012 album Days Go By, The Offspring continues to bring their music to legions of fans worldwide.

Not very good.

Voice has aged terribly. Stage banter sounded like two uncles telling lame jokes. Simple plan as the opener was far better.

Awesome show

The Offspring were amazing and I could not ask for anything better for a concert. I always wanted to see them in concert and I finally did!!!

Really put on a great show and kept the audience fully engaged so much fun.

As always The Offspring put on a great show. This was my 7th time seeing them through the years and they have never disappointed. The Grand Sierra venu is nice. Sound was good.

Outstanding Show

I’ve been listening to these guys since I was in my 20’s…27 to be exact. My son is now 15 and I’m so glad he’s into the music I listen to…I took him for his Bday and it was the best Bday present ever!!! They Rocked!! 🤘

Awesome show one of the best I’ve been to all year. It did seam like dexter had a little problem with his microphone though. Other than that my kids and I had a blast.

Worth the wait!

Spot on with visual, stage presence and most importantly music!!

Love The Offspring

This was a sold out show, disappointed there was no encore. Us fans deserve that ! This was my 6th Offspring show and I will continue to see them live but not for the $891 I paid for 4 seats with no encore. Thanks !

Favorite band ever.

Show was great, sound was great. Amazing band with great showmanship. Set was excellent with plenty of well known tunes and a few deep cuts that were perfect. 7/5 would see again.

Still got it!

The first time I saw offspring was in LV 30 years ago. I hand it to them for a live show at their age. They killed it with some back off assistance. Thanks for rocking the punk seen still.

ABOUT OFFSPRING

The Offspring is an American rock band from Garden Grove, California, formed in 1984. Originally formed under the name Manic Subsidal, the band’s lineup consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Bryan “Dexter” Holland, bassist Todd Morse and lead guitarist Kevin “Noodles” Wasserman. Over the course of their 38-year career, they have released ten studio albums. The Offspring is often credited—alongside fellow California bands Green Day and Rancid—for reviving mainstream interest in rock in the 1990s. They have sold over 40 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling rock bands in history.

ABOUT RADKEY

Radkey is an American rock band from St. Joseph, Missouri formed in 2010 by brothers, Dee Radkey (lead vocals and guitar), Solomon Radke (drums), and Isaiah Radke (bass). They played their first show in 2011 when they opened for Fishbone. With their dad, Matt Radke, as their manager, they have since played with the likes of Jack White, The Offspring, Descendents, Local H, Black Joe Lewis, Titus Andronicus and performed at festivals like SXSW, Riot Fest, Afropunk, Japan’s Punkspring the U.K.’s Download Festival, and Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. They have released two EPs since their inception: 2012’s Cat & Mouse with Adrian Grenier’s Wreckroom Records and 2013’s Devil Fruit on Little Man Records.

ABOUT BLAME MY YOUTH

Before he’d even started Blame My Youth, Sean Van Vleet had damn near done it all. He played the biggest of stages (Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Late Show with David Letterman, etc.), went on tour with massive acts (Death Cab for Cutie, Alkaline Trio, Deerhunter, etc.) and earned international praise with his former indie crew in Empires, and he worked on songs that appeared in major TV shows, video games, iPhone commercials and a whole lot more. So it’s no surprise that as soon as Van Vleet formed Blame My Youth, the rocking quartet immediately saw their first single, “Right Where You Belong,” land as the closing credits theme on the GRAMMY-nominated soundtrack of Bill & Ted Face the Music, with their follow-up, “Fantastic,” picking up millions of streams and hitting the top 30 on the Active Rock radio charts.

After a trio of Danny Wimmer Presents festival appearances announcing their arrival as a band last fall, Blame My Youth is kicking off 2022 with their debut EP, Dance With My Demons (out Feb. 4 via Big Loud Rock). The collection of the band’s six non-Bill & Ted released tracks — plus a bonus version of the title track featuring The Score (Imperial Records) — brings with it the rambunctious singalong tunes Blame My Youth is becoming known for. Dance With My Demons showcases a rebellious mix of Van Vleet’s complex emotional lyricism and unforgettable hooks, with each track further solidifying why many believe the two-year-old band is set to be one of 2022’s breakout artists.

For the time being, Van Vleet and the band will simply continue to work with chart-topping producer Joey Moi (who handled duties for Dance With My Demons) and craft the infectious rock songs that spark in the vocalist’s ever-running mind. With songwriting chops and experience that most “new” artists would kill for and an upbeat EP at a time when everyone could use a little boost, Blame My Youth is primed and ready to take off in a post-pandemic world — and that all starts with Dance With My Demons.

Produced by Live Nation , the 24-city tour kicks off on August 1 at White River Amphitheatre in Auburn, WA making stops across the U.S. in Irvine, Phoenix, Atlanta, Tampa, St. Louis and more before wrapping up in Mansfield, MA at Xfinity Center on September 3.

“One of the best things about being on tour is traveling the world playing to great audiences, and it’s even better when you can do it with your friends – we had sold out International tours with Simple Plan and Sum 41, and we’re excited that they’ll be joining us this Summer in America. It’s going to be great!” said Dexter Holland of The Offspring.

“We couldn’t be more excited to get back on tour all across the US with our friends The Offspring and Sum 41! We had such a blast touring with both of them last year that we just had to do it again and put together what we feel will be one of the most awesome tours of the summer. There’s nothing like going to see a show outside on a perfect summer night, and we hope our fans will join us and enjoy this really special show. See you there!” said Chuck Comeau of Simple Plan.

“We’re so excited to be back touring the States with The Offspring and Simple Plan this summer!” said Deryck Whibley of Sum 41. “There’s nothing better than hitting the road with your friends, and we can’t wait to bring the tour to you – see you soon!”

Frequently regarded as one of the best rock bands of all time, The Offspring have garnered a reputation for their unmistakable sound and social comment. The multi-platinum band first achieved worldwide success in the 90’s with the release of their album Smash, which sold over 11 million copies. Following Smash, they continued to release hit after hit, popularizing rock at a mainstream level. The group is also currently working on new music.

Throughout their career, they’ve sold over a staggering 40 million albums, and toured arenas, and built a global fan base. Let the Bad Times Roll marks the band’s tenth studio album and third album produced by the legendary Bob Rock. True to the irreverence at the core of their rock music, the band and lyricist Dexter Holland took a view to today’s cultural moments and didn’t shy away from creating topical material in this album.

Tickets will be available starting with Citi presales on Tuesday, March 21. The general onsale will begin Friday, March 24 at 10 am Local Time.

ABOUT OFFSPRING The Offspring is an American rock band from Garden Grove, California, formed in 1984.

ABOUT SIMPLE PLAN From their new millennium rise to MTV superstardom through pop-punk’s modern resurgence, SIMPLE PLAN have been an indelible part of pop culture since forming in Montreal in 1999. They’ve sold 10 million albums worldwide, won multiple Juno Awards, performed at the 2010 Winter Olympics – and, most recently, launched the omnipresent #ImJustAKid TikTok challenge that’s spawned more than 3.4 million videos, including clips from Hilary Duff, Ed Sheeran, Usher and Venus and Serena Williams. But most importantly, they’ve never lost connection with what really matters: their audience.

That ambition is fully on display on the band’s sixth studio album, HARDER THAN IT LOOKS. The first self-released album from Comeau, vocalist Pierre Bouvier and guitarists Sébastien Lefebvre and Jeff Stinco, the album respects Simple Plan’s storied career while pushing forward in new ways, with songs like “The Antidote,” “Ruin My Life” (ft. Deryck Whibley),“Congratulations,” “Wake Me Up (When This Nightmare’s Over)” and “Iconic” set to stand as fan favorites for years to come.

ABOUT SUM 41 Looking back at the band’s storied 27-year career with over 15 million records sold worldwide, multiple Billboard Charting releases, a Grammy Award nomination, 2 Juno Awards (7 nominations), a Kerrang! Award in 2002, and multiple Alternative Press Music Awards , Sum 41 is still at the top of their game. Vocalist Deryck Whibley shas hared that the band’s new double album, titled Heaven and Hell , is shaping up to be the most ambitious of their career – half of the album brings Sum 41 back to their pop punk roots, Heaven , and half of the album is strictly metal, Hell .

Things To Do

Music + concerts, music + concerts | the offspring’s summer tour is the band’s biggest, says singer dexter holland, the orange county punk rock band hits fivepoint amphitheatre in irvine on sunday, aug. 6 with sum 41 and simple plan..

It might seem surprising, but Dexter Holland, singer-guitarist of The Offspring, considers this summer’s tour the biggest outing of his band’s career and a sign that the Offspring are bigger than ever as a band.

“It feels like it’s getting better for us. We’ve talked about why that might be, is it a post-COVID thing and people are excited to be back, or just the fact that now we’ve had 30 years of people being used to our songs?” Holland said during a phone interview ahead of bringing the Let the Bad Times Roll Tour with Sum 41 and Simple Plan to FivePoint Amphitheatre in Irvine on Sunday, Aug. 6 and North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in Chula Vista on Tuesday, Aug. 8.

“We’ve got people that are a little older, we’ve got kids that are just discovering us and they’ve created this bigger audience of more than one generation, I guess … but for whatever reason, man, it just feels really good right now.”

That’s quite a welcome reality for a band that has already had some periods of huge success. Formed in 1984 in Garden Grove, the Offspring broke through in a big way with their third album, 1994’s “Smash.” Featuring the hit singles “Come Out and Play,” “Self Esteem” and “Gotta Get Away,” it became the biggest indie album to date, with sales standing at more than 11 million worldwide.

With its energetic and fun punk rock songs, “Smash” joined Green Day’s “Dookie” as the primary albums that brought punk into the mainstream .

Then, after a follow-up album, “Ixnay on the Hombre,” which didn’t sell as well (it still topped out around 3 million copies sold), the next album, “Americana,” became another blockbuster. It featured the hit singles “Pretty Fly (For a White Guy),” “The Kids Aren’t Alright,” “She’s Got Issues” and “Why Don’t You Get A Job?,” and the album sold more than 10 million copies.

Still, this summer’s tour takes the Offspring to new heights.

“I think it’s the biggest headlining tour we’ve ever done, actually,” Holland said. “We’re playing like 25 cities, all amphitheaters, tickets are selling really well, and we’ve got a great package.”

Fans can expect to hear the songs that have kept The Offspring on the radio and in a prominent place in the rock world for more than three decades.

“You get to the point where you’ve put out nine or 10 albums, it’s a lot of material to choose from,” Holland said. “But I believe you’ve got to play the songs that people want to hear, right? Sometimes artists can get a little obscure with their stuff. You’ve kind of got to play the hits. So that dictates a good chunk of our set.”

Far from resting on their considerable laurels, The Offspring, which includes Holland, guitarist and fellow founding member Kevin “Noodles” Wasserman , bassist Todd Morse, drummer Brandon Pertzborn and multi-instrumentalist Jonah Nimoy are acting like a band that’s still inspired and looking to grow musically.

While the five albums that followed “Americana” haven’t sold in the eight figures, they’ve generally done well commercially. There have also been almost another dozen Top 10 singles, including “You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid,” which has become the Offspring’s most streamed song.

That single is featured on the 2008 album, “Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace,” which was recently re-released for its 15th anniversary with a pair of live tracks added to the original album. Holland considers it one of the band’s best efforts, and an important album in the overall career. In 2005, the band released a greatest hits album, and Holland said the band wanted to prove the hits album didn’t mark the end of the road for The Offspring and that they were inspired and as good as ever musically.

“It’s an important record for us,” Holland said “And it’s something I’m really proud of, that that far into our career (we had) our most popular song.”

“Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace” also turned out to be a key project for the future of The Offspring. It was the first time the band worked with Bob Rock, who also produced the two studio albums The Offspring has released since then and became one of the most in-demand producers going for his work with Mötley Crüe and Metallica, among others.

Rock has been back in the studio with the Offspring just recently. The band is well into the process of making a follow-up to their current studio album, the 2021 release “Let the Bad Times Roll.”

“We’re on a roll. We figured let’s do it. Let’s keep on doing it now,” Holland said. “Because we’re in between tours all the time. We don’t really block out eight weeks. We go in for like a week or 10 days and we tend to focus on one song at a time. So we did another song and that makes six, not completely done, but they’re mostly done. So we’re four-ish songs away (from an album). I think we’ll get something out early next year.”

“Let the Bad Times Roll” was well received and seen as a classic-sounding Offspring pop-punk album. It was also praised for songs that reflected life and issues that arose during the pandemic.

It was also an album that was a long time coming, with the nine-year gap between the 2012 album “Days Go By” and “Let the Bad Times Roll” being by far the longest stretch without an Offspring studio album.

“It took a lot longer than we thought. And sometimes time just gets away from you because you’re on tour and all of that stuff and you realize it’s been nine months and you haven’t gotten into the studio,” said Holland, who noted he took time away from the band during this period to return to college and finish his doctorate degree in molecular biology .

“I finished the PhD in 2017,” he continued. “So I think in 2018 I finally looked around and said ‘Oh (man), it’s been like seven years since the last record,’ and then really got focused on that and then things came more quickly after that. But that’s a long time. I don’t want to take that long in between records. But I also feel like you don’t have to put one out every year because you should put one out. It’s got to mean something. It’s got to feel like you’re really speaking from the heart. Sometimes that takes a little while, especially after you’ve done a bunch (of albums). When you’ve only done one record, you’ve got lots of things to say. But sometimes you have to dig a little bit more for it when you have nine (albums).

Holland can’t say for sure yet how the next album will compare to other Offspring offerings, but it’s bound to have some of the usual musical and lyrical signatures.

“Sometimes you just start writing songs and you don’t realize how an album is coming together until it’s almost there,” Holland said. “Like on ‘Americana,’ ‘Americana’ was one of the last songs I wrote because I didn’t realize until then all the other songs like ‘Why Don’t You Get A Job?’ and ‘Pretty Fly,’ they were describing American society. I didn’t really realize that’s what the album was about until I got almost done and thought well, I’ll call it ‘Americana’ because that’s like ‘Americana’ means American culture. This was my vision of what I thought American culture was doing in the late ‘90s. We’re kind of still in that phase with the songs, but we’ve always liked the energy of punk music and the rebelliousness. What I’m focusing right now on is just melody. I want the songs to be really good.”

The show was canceled due to protests for better living conditions in the country! Throughout the week, thousands of Chileans took to the streets to protest for improvements in health, education, transportation. Revolted by government corruption and tired of being exploited by the system.

Because of this situation, the offspring show had to be canceled

Sick show! The sound was good though the Luna park doesn't have a good acoustic. To me The Offspring is a up lifting band! So I spend the whole concert in to moshpit! So it was pretty enjoyable!

Shakira

Shakira did not lie when she announced on social media: “se viene la loba” (the she wolf is coming). The Colombian superstar unveiled the dates to the North American leg of her 2024 Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour on Tuesday (April 16), just on the heels of revealing the big news during her surprise stop at Coachella over the weekend.

The tour, in support of her new album of the same name, will kick off Nov. 2 in Palm Desert, California, and wrap on Dec. 15 in Detroit, Michigan. During the 14-arena trek, she will also visit Los Angeles, Miami, and New York City, to name a few. (Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. local time on April 22, here ).

Shakira first shared the news on Friday (April 12) at Coachella, where she was a surprise guest during Bizarrap’s debut performance. Right after performing “La Fuerte” and before singing “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53” (her two collaborative efforts with the Argentine hitmaker), she said:  “I have to share something today. Biza, I’m going on tour. I’m going on tour, finally…starting here, this November, this year, this city. I can’t wait. Couldn’t ask for more.”

The tour — which marks her first since her 2018 El Dorado World Tour — is in support of her 12th studio album, which debuted at No. 1 on the Top Latin Albums and Latin Pop Albums charts (dated April 6), as well as No. 13 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart.

As we patiently wait for the fall to come around, Billboard has curated five things we would like to see on Shakira’s new tour.

The Grand Opening

Shakira

If “La Loba se viene” is any indication, it only makes sense that Shakira starts off her concerts performing a bilingual version of “Loba” (“She Wolf”). Her 2009 banger, which entered many Billboard charts, including the Hot 100, Hot Latin Songs and Tropical Songs, is the ultimate dance track perfect to set the mood for the rest of the night. “She Wolf” also represents what Shakira embodies: a woman with strong family values, resilience and strength. Now, if she can arrive singing the song on top of a large wolf on the stage — that’d be extra epic!

The 1990s Medley

Shakira

It’s no surprise that Shakira will perform all of her latest hits live for the first time. We’re expecting to sing and dance to songs such as “Te Felicito,” “Monotonía,” “Copa Vacía,” and “Puntería” — all from her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran album. But we’re also hoping for a ride down memory lane.

We’re specifically crossing fingers for a throwback medley set — where she will perform some of her melancholy rock tunes from the ‘90s. Our dream version of it would include “Ciega, Sordomuda,” “Ojos Así,” “Estoy Aquí,” “Inevitable,” and “Antologia,” to name a few.

Surprise Guests

Shakira and Cardi B

Now, we know Shakira can dominate the stage and sell out arenas on her own, but it would also be nice to see her bring out some surprise guests. Some we would especially like to see her join the stage are Alejandro Sanz, for an epic performance of “La Tortura” and “Te Lo Agradezco Pero No,” Karol G for the ultra-powerful “TQG,” Cardi B for their flirtatious and feel-good “Puntería” — and why not? Beyoncé (“Beautiful Liar”) and/or Rihanna (“Can’t Remember to Forget You”) as well.

Her Talented Offspring

Shakira

Another sweet moment on the tour would be if Shakira invites her talented sons onstage. The two boys first showed off their singing skills on the heartfelt tune “Acróstico” (third single off Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran ), where they collaborated with their mom. Her older son, Milan, has also been spotted on social media performing with his school band, where he plays the drums.

The Grand Finale

Bizarrap, Shakira

And, because Shakira made her tour announcement during Bizarrap’s Coachella set, it only makes sense that she invites him on stage (if possible for the entire tour) to close off the show with their 2023 banger “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53.” The track peaked at No. 9 on the Hot 100 and landed at No. 2 on both the Billboard Global 200 and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts. It also ruled the Hot Latin Songs chart, scoring Shakira her 12th leader on the tally.

Perry, a Far-Right Incumbent, Faces Shifting Political Ground in Pennsylvania

The House Freedom Caucus stalwart and 2020 election denier is confronting a general election challenge in a central Pennsylvania district that has grown more competitive.

Representative Scott Perry speaks to a reporter holding out her phone as they walk down a hall with cream-colored brick walls. He is wearing a dark blue suit and a dark blue tie with red diamonds.

By Robert Draper

Reporting from Hershey, Pa.

Like other Republicans in the House Freedom Caucus, Representative Scott Perry of Pennsylvania, the group’s former leader, carries a pungently far-right portfolio.

He has been an unswerving loyalist of former President Donald J. Trump. He has bickered with his party’s elected leaders. He has voted against aid to Ukraine and against keeping the government open. He still maintains that the 2020 election was stolen. Such stances are not especially controversial to Republican primary voters.

But among archconservative House members, only Mr. Perry must sell those same views to voters in a politically competitive district this November.

The challenge confronting Mr. Perry came into sharper focus late Tuesday night, when Democratic voters in Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District elected as their candidate Janelle Stelson, a popular TV anchor in the area who until about a year ago was a registered Republican.

Ms. Stelson, who is running as a centrist, prevailed in a six-candidate primary that was largely upbeat and free of intraparty fisticuffs.

“I’ve had Scott Perry in my cross hairs from the moment I announced my candidacy last October,” she said in an interview.

Now, Mr. Perry, a historically lackluster fund-raiser who has had to divert substantial donations to paying for legal fees relating to his role in trying to overturn the 2020 election, finds himself increasingly at risk in a central Pennsylvania seat that the nonpartisan Cook Political Report recently shifted from “likely Republican” to “lean Republican.”

Mr. Perry’s difficulties well predate Tuesday’s primary. After spending his first eight years in near obscurity, most of that time in a solid-red district before a court-ordered redistricting in 2018, he became the wrong kind of famous after the 2020 election.

Claiming that the Democrats had cheated Mr. Trump out of victory, Mr. Perry embraced some of the cycle’s more exotic conspiracy theories, such as the groundless allegation that Mr. Trump’s C.I.A. director, Gina Haspel, worked in concert with the Italian government to flip votes to Joseph R. Biden Jr. He was also a key player in the unsuccessful push to get Mr. Trump to elevate an obscure government lawyer, Jeffrey Clark, to attorney general so that Mr. Clark could assist in trying to overturn the election results.

On Tuesday, several primary voters interviewed at polling stations throughout the district cited Mr. Perry’s backstage efforts as reason enough to unseat him. Deborah Genet, a Democrat and special education teacher in Mechanicsburg, described Mr. Perry as “an insurrectionist who believes in the Big Lie,” referring to his baseless claims about the 2020 election.

The same sentiment was echoed by a registered Republican, Mary O’Connor, who said as she departed a polling center in Camp Hill: “What Scott Perry did in the days leading up to Jan. 6 was unforgivable.” Ms. Genet added that she planned to vote for his Democratic opponent in November.

Mr. Perry has had to divert roughly $327,000 in donations over the past year toward legal fees relating to his role in the 2020 election. (Ms. Stelson has joked on the campaign trail: “It’s really hard to raise money when the F.B.I. has seized your cellphone,” referring to the bureau’s subpoena of Mr. Perry’s data.)

He enters the postprimary season with about $500,000 in cash on hand, less than any other House Republican facing a significant general election challenge. At the same time, the House Majority PAC, Democrats’ main organ for financing House races, has already reserved $2.4 million to buy TV ads in the Harrisburg, Pa., media market for the final four weeks of the election, after not investing in the district at all during the previous election cycle.

In interviews, two officials with Mr. Perry’s campaign sought to play down his vulnerabilities. A hefty campaign purse would be extraneous for a six-term incumbent in an inexpensive media market, they said. They argued that by the final weeks of the race, voters in the heavily contested state of Pennsylvania, which is also home to a competitive Senate race, will have been so thoroughly inundated by an autumnal tidal wave of presidential advertising that they will tune out ads targeting their congressman.

Anyway, Mr. Perry’s officials noted, their candidate has outperformed Mr. Trump, who carried the district in 2020 by four points, three fewer than Mr. Perry’s victory that same year.

But some observers say the numbers should be of concern for both the incumbent and his party.

“Perry’s seat is definitely creeping its way into the swing-district category,” James Lee, a Harrisburg-based pollster, said in an interview.

In 2022, Josh Shapiro, then the Democratic candidate for governor, carried Mr. Perry’s district by 12 points. This year, for the first time in more than a century, Democrats hold a majority on the county commission of Dauphin County, of which Harrisburg is the county seat.

The recent Democratic victories were driven by the swelling population of center-left suburbanites who work in the state government and in the district’s burgeoning medical community. Those same professionals tend to view Mr. Trump with disfavor, part of a national trend that may provide Mr. Biden with his best path to victory in Pennsylvania and other swing states.

Mr. Perry, who in 2022 defeated an underfunded progressive Democrat by eight points, has not adjusted his message to fit the district’s electoral trends, a fact his supporters point to as proof of a refreshing authenticity. The congressman’s TV ads and yard signs have accentuated his military career, which includes having flown 44 combat missions in Iraq and which culminated in his attaining the rank of brigadier general.

His House website also frames him as an exemplar of “hard work and dedication,” the offspring of a mother who fled an abusive partner in California and eventually relocated to a house in Dillsburg, Pa., that for a time lacked electricity or running water and required that the family live on public assistance.

Mr. Perry still lives in Dillsburg, a Republican stronghold in the district, where primary voters responded to a reporter’s queries about the incumbent’s Democratic opponents with dismissiveness or laughter.

Ms. Stelson did not spend much time campaigning there. Her advisers explained in interviews that she had been directing her efforts to the vote-rich cities and suburbs, and that outreach to the broader electorate would come later.

As an anchor for the NBC affiliate WGAL, Ms. Stelson twice moderated Mr. Perry in debates against Democratic opponents. She has pitched herself as an affable, instantly familiar TV personality and noncombative alternative to an extremist incumbent.

“I’ve known who Janelle Stelson was since 1995, when I was in high school,” said Jason O’Malley, a Lancaster-based Democratic operative who is not affiliated with her campaign. “She’s got name recognition through the roof.”

Ms. Stelson has sought advice from Edward G. Rendell, the state’s former Democratic governor, who said in an interview: “A person like Janelle, who people have been watching from their living room for so many years — she becomes like a trusted friend.”

In a campaign appearance in Harrisburg two weeks before the primary, she said of the persistent problems on America’s southern border: “Both parties have been botching it.” She also lamented the Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade but then added, “Nobody likes abortions.”

Mr. Lee, the pollster, said Ms. Stelson was wise to campaign as a centrist.

“If she is branded as a moderate female,” he said, “she will have broad appeal to voters in the district.”

Still, Ms. Stelson’s command of the issues has yet to be tested, and her opponent’s campaign has already hinted at a thorough vetting of her background.

In her victory speech in Hershey on Tuesday night, Ms. Stelson argued that it was urgent for Democrats to take back the House and vowed to do her part to “recodify Roe v. Wade.”

But she also made plain that her campaign will above all be about defining the Republican incumbent as unacceptable.

“Scott Perry,” she said. “That’s what tonight is all about.”

Because of an editing error, an earlier version of this article mischaracterized the push to install an obscure government lawyer, Jeffrey Clark, as attorney general late in President Donald J. Trump’s term. The effort was unsuccessful, not successful.
