Who We Are. Island Cruises Inc was started by Capt. Tony Newberry in March, 2021. His career in Carolina Beach passenger boats began in 1990 when he was just 14 years old. After working his way up to captain at the age of 19, he worked full time on the passenger boats of Carolina Beach. In 2003 he went to sea on ever larger boats and ships.
