Calling them greedy is one thing...but

Calling them greedy is one thing, but charging one way tickets from $15 to $35 while being well over 30 minutes late..suck. :] unreliable office number where they don't answer the call, no way to contact or stay updated on the delay. Not great at all. Some call it BAD Update: I'm not saying $15 is bad, but silently increasing the price by $20 is unreasonable. Of course you have to compare it to Uber, but a coach bus holds more people in comparison to an uber, so net gain is still much higher for each trip for your company.

Reply from Northfield Lines

We are sorry you feel that $15.00 is over priced for service's from Northfield to the airport. It may seem like to much but if you were to use Uber is over $150.00. The day you used our services the road conditions prevented us from making the route in a efficient manner.

No Bus For Us

I was flying home for spring break on a late flight along with around 10 others and the bus didn’t show. Because it was so late the office was closed and no one was answering our calls. We weren’t ever given an update and after 45 minutes we frantically called around and only 4 of us were able to get a ride service. As far as I know an hour and 15 minutes after the bus was scheduled people were still trying to find a ride.

Date of experience : March 17, 2022

Unpredictable at best

Not sure why there are so many positive reviews planted; my peers and I all dread using this service. Bus times are quite inconsistent - you never know if it's going to leave one minute early or be thirty minutes in the late. In addition, tickets have gone up to double in the span of two years. If you don't get your tickets far in advance, you could be paying $50 for a round trip to and from the cities. One of my friends was stranded without a ride to the airport because *the bus didn't show.* Unfortunately, this is the only option for commuting to the Twin Cities outside of renting a car or taking First Choice Shuttle, which is even more expensive if you don't split your fare with other riders. Customer service is pretty absent. Adding a star for the friendliness of the drivers.

Date of experience : February 03, 2020

We are very sorry that your experience with our service was not you or we expect. Unfortunately in Minnesota the road conditions prevent us from keeping a consistent schedule. Please free to call our office during business hours to discuss where we can improve and we will provide you with a free round trip ticket.

No refund! Bus was super late!

My bus was scheduled to pick me up at the airport but it never showed up! My friends and I decided to get an Uber instead. When I tried to get a refund on my bus ticket the next day, they wouldn't give it to me because "it showed up eventually". I don't want to be picked up two hours late! Especially after a long flight!

Date of experience : February 06, 2019

Hi Abbie Again, as we explained on the phone, the bus did show up but you chose not to ride it. YES, we were late. 10" of snow will do that to traffic- ask anyone on the road yesterday. We notified all ticket holders of the delays & provided a link to track your bus.

Had some issues

Had some issues. We had trouble contacting our representative at Northfield Lines after we booked our transportation services and had to reach out to someone else at the company after a few weeks of unresponsiveness. Overall we were happy with the contracting process, and working with Northfield Lines prior to the day of the event, however. On the day of our event, one of the three bus drivers had the heat on instead of the AC for the entire 25 minute drive, making it very uncomfortable for our passengers, even after they repeatedly asked for the AC to be turned on. Additionally, one of the bus drivers picking up our guests after the event was late, making several guests wait and arrive late to the next event. We understand that this bus driver also backed into a tree or bush on the property after not following driving directions/signage onsite.

Date of experience : July 18, 2018

Maren, first and foremost, thank you for your review. The sole purpose of collecting reviews is to not only recognize our strengths, but to identify and address our weaknesses in order to continually improve our services. We are sorry to hear that your experience with us was not satisfactory. We can do better and will. We would like to compensate you for these issues mentioned, and our office will be contacting you to do so.

Our driver was 25 minutes late picking…

Our driver was 25 minutes late picking us up to take us to the church for our wedding. It made us late & rushed. Our driver also did not know where he was going- I did give all the information to the lady who set me up with the bus. We had to have someone sit up with him & direct.

Date of experience : October 22, 2019

Taylor, Thank you for your review. We are embarrassed to even be replying. Your wedding is your big day & transportation is one thing you shouldn't have to worry about. Our driver was late and not prepared, and there is absolutely no excuse for that. We would like to talk with you about compensation for our error.

Overall good with a few hiccups

The reservation process was easy. The night of the driver name I was given changed without notice to the coordinator of the group. Driver was told pick up at 8:30, wasn't there at 8:30 called the number given by the reservation process and it was a different driver. The old driver got a hold of the new driver and they showed u at 8:45pm. Made for a longer night than it needed to be.

Date of experience : January 15, 2019

I know, speaking for myself, that hiccups can be annoying- as I am sure this was on the night of your event. Sometimes due to circumstances we cannot control, usually traffic related, we are forced to make last minute changes to make sure we have a vehicle and driver arrive on time. When this happens, we do our best to try to keep everyone up to speed with all of the changes, but in your particular case we were unable to do so and we are sorry.

Anna the organizer was terrific

Anna the organizer was terrific. Got it all planned out for me and gave many choices for our special day. I had told them we would not need the driver to pick up at our second destination before the wedding, and I was wrong we had people waiting for a ride over to the wedding. Jim the driver was able to get over there and rescue the ones waiting, which was awesome. We were able to postpone the wedding till they arrived. I know our end time was midnight, but we still had people needing a ride back to the hotels. Jim I could tell was not happy returning back to the golf course to pick up myself, bride, groom and others. Felt very uncomfortable dealing with the situation I was in, but knew the ones remaining needed transportation. Tipped Jim generously and thanked him. I know the deadline had hit but what do you do if the service was still needed?

Date of experience : March 01, 2019

Hi Jean. Sorry for the our delay in responding, but we wanted to have a conversation with Jim to address the concerns you expressed. We are sorry you felt uncomfortable dealing with the situation, as we all know weddings at the end of the evening can be very scrambled. Please know that Jim was not upset with you or for the need of additional transportation that extended your time. We are sorry that this was the impression you felt.

Dave, our driver, was wonderful--hard-working, helpful, kind, personable--really a treat and bonus to have as our driver. The bus was quite comfortable, but there were a few operating glitches (electronics, I think): 1. the Wi-Fi connection mostly did not work. 2. the speedometer stopped working, 3. one day we had to wait 15-20 minutes while rebooting the electronics to get the bus started, 4. the last day the automatic lift for the bus from kneeling position did not operate). Some bugs still to get worked out in this bus and its computer connections. We will be back with Northfield Lines, though, as I'm confident you'll figure it out.

The Driver that took us on the trip was outstanding.. She was very attentive to the kids and was very polite to the staff that was on board.. The driver that picked up group at the school did not help load the luggage underneath the bay at all.

We had 5 buses and the 2 at usbank stadium left 30 people at our group I did not contact the person in charge. The driver said one guy let's just leave. Both buses were full and the other bus bus one and bus to the left while we still have 30 people at U.S. Bank Stadium go back to the hotel

Poor Customer Service when i called to talk about changing the pickup location, horrible response time when emailed and called about bus driver name, location change etc.

So sorry to hear this! We really want to make sure that his never happens again. We are a bit confused as to when this occurred? Looking back at your past reservations with us, we found that you did have trips scheduled in both February 2018 and March 2018- both were cancelled. The only other trips we could find were your October 25, 2017 and November 18, 2017. Your October trip was booked the day before (October 24th) and your November trip (which was booked in June) didn't have any changes that you are referencing here. Can you please clarify? If it is easier to call us to discuss, please feel free to do so at 800-944-2190.

We have used Northfield Lines for over 10 years for our senior citizen social events from church. They have always been very professional, courteous and flexible to our changing needs. Their sales staff, namely Anna, has been very helpful in helping us charter buses for our monthly events. Their drivers have not only been helpful to meeting our senior citizen needs, but some of them have also given us ideas for future events.

I've used Northfield lines for our collegiate music ensemble tours almost exclusively for over 15 years. They have always provided great customer service, a fair price, outstanding drivers, and modern, well-maintained vehicles. I know our students will be well taken care of and safely moved from place to place with Northfield Lines, Inc.. I highly recommend them!
