The top eight teams after 72 holes of play will be placed into a bracket thereafter.

AP NFL Story:
The Minnesota Vikings need a quarterback in this draft. That much is easy to see. The hard part is picking the right one — and determining what it’s worth to them to get him.
With this top-flight class — featuring Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye and J.J. McCarthy — the Vikings are poised to set up their future with the 11th and 23rd overall picks that could be packaged together for a move into the top five.
But they realize, no matter how well set up they are for a rookie with a quarterback-friendly head coach in Kevin O’Connell and a superstar wide receiver in Justin Jefferson, there is no guarantee in this highly calculated yet no-better-than-a-coin-flip exercise of finding that franchise player in the NFL .
“I think our odds will be better than the margins. How good are those odds? Obviously, it’s still a pretty risky thing,” third-year general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah said. “But just because something’s risky doesn’t mean you’re scared of it.”
Teams are using premium draft picks on quarterbacks at an increasingly high rate. This draft is slated to be the eighth in the past nine years with at least three QBs taken in the first round, which matches the number of times that happened in the first 38 years of the common draft era.
Quarterbacks could go with the top three picks for the fourth time ever with Chicago , Washington and New England all sorely in need of a passer who can turn the fortunes of a franchise. This draft could break a record with four quarterbacks possibly going in the top nine picks. The over-under for total QBs taken in the first round is set at 4½ by BetMGM Sportsbook with Michael Penix and Bo Nix also under consideration for other QB-needy teams outside the top 10 like Denver and Las Vegas.
But for every Patrick Mahomes, there is a Josh Rosen.
“I think it would be hard to point to the results and say we’ve made progress, as sad as that is,” NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah said. “The more you look at it, I think there’s more attention being paid now to maybe more so the environment than the actual quarterback, and knowing how to set the table for when you do take the quarterback, that he can be successful.”
Never mind whether the player is a rhythm pocket passer, adept at ad-libbing, or somewhere in between.
“Different styles, that’s not something to get carried away with. To me, it’s more a focus of, ‘Do we have the right play caller, the right offensive line to protect him, and do we have some guys he can get the ball to?’” Jeremiah said. “I think that seems to be what’s going to lead to these guys being a success or not.”
The Vikings are banking on that.
“When we talk about these players, it’s not just how good are they. It’s how do we get the best version of themselves if they come to the Minnesota Vikings? We set up plans before they walk in the building,” Adofo-Mensah said. “I think our odds will be better than the margins.”
Still, the league-wide hit rate remains largely a tossup.
From the start of the rookie wage scale era in the 2011 draft through 2022, 38 quarterbacks have been drafted in the first round. Those QBs have essentially played at slightly below league-average rates early in their careers with a passer rating 1.5 points below league average over their first three seasons.
Half of those QBs were allowed to leave their original teams without even reaching the relatively low bar of receiving a second contract, with 2021 second overall pick Zach Wilson expected to join that group soon in a departure from the New York Jets .
Only five earned first- or second-team All-Pro honors. Only eight have led their teams to multiple playoff wins so far.
“I feel like it’s really hard to evaluate quarterbacks, but you just try to get better and try to understand what you did the last time that was really good and what you did last time that was really bad,” said Commanders first-year general manager Adam Peters, who is aiming for better success picking a QB at No. 2 this year than he had as assistant GM in San Francisco when the 49ers took Trey Lance third overall in 2021. “It’s constantly evolving, and I don’t think anybody has the magic pill to understand that one. If they do let me know, I’ll hire them.”
The majority of those busts provided two seasons or fewer as regular starters as teams quickly moved on from failures like Jake Locker, Johnny Manziel, Paxton Lynch and of course Rosen, who spent time with a whopping seven teams over five years after Arizona traded up five spots to take him 10th overall in 2018.
Several teams were quickly forced back on the quarterback draft carousel. There were eight instances of a team using another first-round pick on a quarterback in the ensuing four drafts, including the Cardinals, who traded away Rosen after one year and took Kyler Murray first overall in 2019.
Chicago and New England could add to that count at the top of this draft with the Bears widely expected to draft Williams at No. 1 overall after trading away 2021 first-round QB Justin Fields and New England possibly using the third pick on a replacement for 2021 first-rounder Mac Jones.
Getting a quarterback worthy of a second contract is no sign of success with many of those being no better than a mid-level performer like Daniel Jones, Ryan Tannehill, Blake Bortles and Carson Wentz.
“I think it’s probably the most, probably the toughest position of all professional sports to play,” said Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst, whose franchise has enjoyed a more than 30-year uninterrupted run of top-flight QB play from Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers to Jordan Love. “You never really know until you have that time to try to develop a guy, whether he’s going to be able to do it at a high level or not. So, it’s just a tough league to excel at that position, for sure.”
But the success stories are the reason why teams keep coming back with the hope of getting their franchise-lifting quarterback, like Mahomes, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson or Joe Burrow.
Five of the seven teams with the best odds to win the Super Bowl, according to BetMGM Sportsbook , are led by a quarterback they selected in the first round. Nine of the last AP NFL MVPs are first-round quarterbacks with their original teams.
“I think there’s risk obviously,” Broncos coach Sean Payton said. “There’s no certainty or else we’d be fantastic with the draft.”

Dallas Cowboys NFL draft picks 2024: Full list of team's round-by-round selections
Here is a 2024 NFL draft pick-by-pick breakdown for the Dallas Cowboys :
Round 1 (No. 29 overall, from Lions) — Tyler Guyton, OT, Oklahoma : A former tight end, the 6-8, 322-pounder is an exceptional athlete for his size . He's relatively inexperienced from a playing time perspective but should have an opportunity to immediately fill the left tackle post vacated by Tyron Smith. If not, 2022 first-rounder Tyler Smith can fill in there until Guyton is ready. Draft tracker
Round 2 (56) — Marshawn Kneeland, DE, Western Michigan : Dallas continues to invest in the trenches after getting raided there during free agency. Kneeland displays the athleticism of a former tight end if also the inexperience of a relative newcomer to the D-line. He averaged 3½ sacks and 9.3 TFLs over the past three seasons. Draft tracker
From NFL plays to college sports scores, all the top sports news you need to know every day.
Round 3 (73, from Vikings through Lions) — Cooper Beebe, G, Kansas State : More reinforcements for an offensive line that needs them. Beebe could play guard or center depending on how things shake out here, especially if first-rounder Tyler Guyton isn't ready to play. Draft tracker
Round 3 (87) — Marist Liufau, LB, Notre Dame : A versatile player but one who could solve what's been a problem area at the second level in Dallas lately. Draft tracker
Round 5 (174, compensatory selection) — Caelen Carson, CB, Wake Forest : Carson missed 11 games over the last three years with the Demon Deacons. Injury concerns aside, he's a versatile NFL cornerback with ideal size and athleticism . If he stays healthy, he could become a solid starter for the Cowboys at a great value. Draft tracker
Round 6 (216, compensatory selection) — Ryan Flournoy, WR, Southeast Missouri State : Flournoy's a height-weight-speed athlete who showed off against Ohio Valley Conference competition. His tape against Iowa State and Kansas State weren't bad and he already has the tools as a rotational wide receiver, something rare to find this late in the draft. Draft tracker
Round 7 (233, from Raiders) — Nathan Thomas, OT, Louisiana : Thomas has the tools to be a solid tackle . His size, above-average wingspan, and massive hands make him strong at the point of attack. He needs time to develop his discipline and better technique but the Cowboys could provide the infrastructure to do that. Draft tracker
Round 7 (244) — Justin Rogers, DT, Auburn : Rogers' powerful, compact frame makes him hard to move off the line. He lacks the range to make a big difference in the run game but can take up enough blockers to open opportunities for others. He'll likely have an early-down role in the league and can shore things up for the Cowboys. Draft tracker

2024 NHL Playoffs bracket: Stanley Cup Playoffs schedule, start times, games, TV channels for Round 1
The 2024 nhl postseason is in full swing.
The 2024 NHL Playoffs have officially arrived, providing some of the most heart-pounding action in the sports world. With the Vegas Golden Knights set to defend their title, the chase for Lord Stanley's Cup is underway.
The New York Rangers captured the Presidents' Trophy with the best record throughout the 2023-24 regular season. When the regular season concluded, the Rangers finished with a 55-23-4 record (114 points) as they just edged out the Dallas Stars for that honor.
The structure of the playoffs is as follows:
- The division winner with the most points in each conference will face the second Wild Card team in the first round. The division winner with fewer points in each conference will match up with the top Wild Card team in the first round.
- Each series will be a best-of-seven format.
- Home-ice advantage goes to the team with the top seed in the first two rounds of the playoffs. The team with the most points in the regular season has home-ice advantage in the conference finals and Stanley Cup Final.
- The Stanley Cup Playoffs will begin on April 20 with a matchup between the Carolina Hurricanes and New York Islanders .
Below is how you can follow each series in the first round along with updating results and scores from each game. Bookmark this page for the duration of the playoff run to stay up to date with everything on the ice.

NASCAR Talladega spring race 2024: Start time, TV, live stream, lineup for GEICO 500
It’s Talladega time, which means wild pack racing, crazy crashes and high-speed drama at NASCAR ’s largest track.
The unpredictability at Talladega Superspeedway offers a chance for any driver to take the checkered flag. The Alabama track was the site of Bubba Wallace’s first career Cup Series victory in 2021 , while Ross Chastain earned his second career Cup victory there in 2022.
But Talladega has also been particularly good to defending series champion Ryan Blaney. Three of his 10 career Cup Series wins have come at the superspeedway, and he enters Sunday’s race as the most recent winner.
No driver, though, has had more success at Talladega than Brad Keselowski, whose six wins lead all active drivers. Keselowski is coming off a second-place finish at Texas last weekend, and the massive Alabama oval might be the perfect track for the 2012 series champion to snap a long winless streak that dates to 2021 – coincidentally at Talladega!
Who will take the checkered flag on Sunday? Here is all the information you need to get ready for the GEICO 500:
What time does the Cup race at Talladega start?
The GEICO 500 starts at 3 p.m. ET (2 p.m. local) at Talladega Superspeedway in Talladega, Alabama.
What TV channel is the Cup race at Talladega on?
Fox is broadcasting the GEICO 500 and has a pre-race show beginning at 2 p.m. ET (1 p.m. local).
Will there be a live stream of the Cup race at Talladega?
The GEICO 500 can be live streamed on the FoxSports website and on the FoxSports app.
How many laps is the Cup race at Talladega?
The GEICO 500 is 188 laps around the 2.66-mile track for a total of 500.08 miles. The race will feature three segments (laps per stage) — Stage 1: 60 laps; Stage 2: 60 laps; Stage 3: 68 laps.
Who won the most recent races at Talladega?
Ryan Blaney led eight laps during the playoff race on Oct. 1, 2023 and took his final lead on the penultimate lap, passing Kevin Harvick before edging William Byron by just 0.012 seconds.
And one year ago, Kyle Busch prevailed in double overtime on April 23, 2023, taking the lead from Bubba Wallace following a restart and winning under caution after a multi-car crash in Turn 2 during the white flag lap. Blaney finished second, while Wallace, who was involved in the crash, finished 28th.

TALLADEGA, Ala. (AP) — The Rick Hendrick Express rolls into Talladega Superspeedway, with Joe Gibbs Racing nipping at their bumpers.
Good luck to everyone else in the NASCAR Cup series.
Even at this high-banked madhouse in rural Alabama, which is usually as much of a crapshoot as any track on the circuit, there’s already a sense that 2024 is shaking out as a two-team sprint to the championship.
Through nine races, the top six spots in the standings are split evenly between the Hendrick and Gibbs powerhouses. They’ve hoarded nearly all the wins, too, with Daniel Suarez’s pulsating Atlanta victory being the only race that prevented a clean sweep.
William Byron already has three wins for Hendrick Motorsports, while teammate Chase Elliott took the checkered flag a week ago at Texas Motor Speedway. A third Hendrick driver, Kyle Larson, leads the standings and had won three straight poles until he was booted from qualifying Saturday because of an unauthorized change to his car.
Denny Hamlin, who has two wins for JGR and sits third in the points, doesn’t see anyone rising up to challenge the front-runners.
“Teams just can’t make in-year adjustments like they used to be able to,” he said. “What you’ve got is what you’ve got.”
Brad Keselowski, among the multitudes who are lagging behind, shrugged his shoulders when asked if Hamlin’s assessment was on point.
“I would say the way the formats are for NASCAR right now, with no testing and no practice, it lends itself to when someone gets an advantage, they’re hard to overtake for sure,” Keselowski said.
The 2.66-mile Talladega trioval does provide a better opportunity for the also-rans to make their mark — especially the struggling Ford teams that have yet to win a race.
The Mustang showed impressive speed at both Daytona and Atlanta, which require similar setups to Talladega, and Michael McDowell of Front Row Motorsports added to that optimism by earning the pole position for the race Sunday at 182.022 mph.
He was followed by two more Ford drivers, Team Penske’s Austin Cindric (181.739) and McDowell’s Front Row teammate, Todd Gilliland (181.401).
“This is a good week for us to get a win,” McDowell said. “There’s a lot of great Mustangs starting up there with us.”
Talladega is known for its huge wrecks and chaotic finishes, but McDowell said the Next Gen car has taken away some of the randomness at this place. The idea that one can take the checkered flag merely by avoiding the big crash no longer applies.
“There’s a balance,” McDowell said. “You don’t want to be the guy making big, bold moves and putting everyone in compromising positions. But you have to fight hard for track position, because you may not get it back.”
No matter what happens Sunday, it already seems clear the champion at the end of the season will come from one of two teams.
“It’s heavily on my shoulders to perform every week,” Hamlin said, “because I know I’ve got a team that’s capable of winning every week.”
KYLE GETS CLIPPED
Larson’s pole-winning streak was snapped without him cranking up his No. 5 car after NASCAR inspectors discovered an unapproved adjustment to the roof rails.
The car passed through the inspection line without any issues, but officials said the rails were altered while the car was being pushed to the track to make its qualifying attempt.
The rails are designed to disrupt the air flow over the roof if a car spins sideways, preventing it from lifting off the track.
Larson will have to start from the back of the 38-car field.
FAREWELL, SCORING PYLONS
One of the most prominent features at the racetrack is slowly fading away.
Talladega has become the latest NASCAR facility to remove the tall, narrow scoring pylon that listed the position of the nearly every driver in the field.
With modern scoreboards, several tracks have decided that the traditional pylon is no longer needed. But many drivers are upset by the change, including Hamlin, who said he relied on the simplistic scoreboards to keep track of everyone else in the field.
Not to mention the tradition.
“That’s what a racetrack is,” Hamlin said. “By taking those down, it’s just not as good. Maybe it’s just me, but I know every time I go through a tunnel, the first thing I do is look at the scoring pylon.”
STRUGGLING FORDS
Ford’s winless streak has become a major storyline in the first quarter of the Cup season.
Sure, there’s still a long way to go, but Keselowski said it’s not unfair for fans and media to focus on the struggles of the historic brand.
“I don’t think you’re making a bigger deal of it that it is,” the Ford driver said. “I mean, outside of Daytona and Atlanta, I’m not particularly certain there’s been a track where I would say Ford has been the fastest car.”
That makes Talladega almost a must-win situation for the Ford contingent.
“It’s definitely a better opportunity for us,” Keselowski said. “We need to capitalize on that.”
ODDS AND ENDS
Harrison Burton will start from the 16th position as he takes another crack at claiming the 100th Cup victory for Woods Brothers Racing. The long-time team hasn’t won since Ryan Blaney’s victory at Pocono in 2017. ... Anthony Alfredo will make his second appearance of the season for Beard Motorsports, looking to improve on a 27th-place finish at Daytona. ... New Zealand’s Shane van Gisbergen is getting his first Cup start on an oval after racing on road and street circuits in his three previous appearances. That included a surprising victory at Chicago in his debut last year. .... Blaney and Keselowski are listed as co-favorites in the Geico 500, according to BetMGM .

We are SO happy with this purchase. Assembly was lengthy and quite honestly not all pieces are perfectly centered (which is why I deducted 1 star) however at the end of the process you get a sturdy, solid wood TV stand. This fits our 65inch TV perfectly and maintains the feng shui of the room. Take note the walnut stain is a bit darker brown than the image in the listing. The images I provided show the stain in different lighting. Overall, very happy with my choice. The company that manufactures this furniture is of great quality and a fair price. I would absolutely buy from them again.

It looks great and works for what we wanted it but the quality is concerning. Trying to assemble it caused A LOT of cracks and dents, unfortunately.
Rated 1 out of 5 stars.
Wow, I can't believe this TV stand has so many positive reviews. The photos make it look great and the fact that it can take a TV up to 85" was definitely a selling point. It's also made of wood so even better! Well, it is made out of the cheapest wood I've ever seen. It's so light that I couldn't believe it was wood at first. The paint finish looks incredibly cheap and one of the doors is just crooked, no matter what we do. It took three hours to put together and we thought we were going to crack the wood every time we drilled a screw into a non existent hole. The legs are not very stable so we're hoping for the best. It is unlikely it would ever survive a move and we even used wood glue to make it more secure. Best part is that somewhere a long the way, it was dropped on a corner. Thankfully, Wayfair has outstanding customer service and they refunded 50% of the price of this item. We are keeping it for now, but it will likely be gifted or put out in the trash in a year or less.
4.5 Actually... I don't do reviews normally but I've benefitted from a few and this particular item I feel is actually worth it. I want to give this 5 stars but in all actuality products rarely live up to it. Things to consider if purchasing: - BE CAREFUL with the wood at ALL times, it is very soft. * Don't have items around the room that can bump any panels when unboxing * Recommend putting panels on carpeted surface * Make room (if you can) to remove everything and place on floor all assembly items * I think it's wise to wood glue all joints that may have natural wood separation(gaps or cracks), especially if they are a connection point. My foot pegs had a few spots of wood grain separation. - ASSEMBLY also be patient and CAREFUL * When drilling use the lowest chuck/torque to do the job * When drilling, tighten to assemble but leave some room * Once all drilling is complete go back and retighten screws to make secure -STYLING, I'm not a fan of the center foot peg, it throws off the lines and look. My TV is on the wall so I just don't need it and nothing of substance weight-wise will be put on top anyway. We're still in the stage of styling the Frame TV and I have a gallery look in plan that should round out the wall very nicely. Very recommended. Out of the recent purchases this year, this by far is my most liked and preferred item as it gives the style and versatility in its design to be placed in many locations and potential styling. I would use this as a turntable centerpiece and is a great choice for music lovers.

Great looking TV console. Fits my style perfectly and the color matches my barstools and couch in another room which helps marry the rooms together in wood tones. Assembled it by myself and took about 2 hours, but I was taking my time. Using a ratchet screw driver helps a lot, as I didn’t want to use a drill.

Bad quality!!! Don’t buy it, not worth it. I am angry I bought it. One corner broke out than I tied the screw. Overall not a good quality at all!

Love the walnut color, it is solid wood. However, the wood is NOT sealed. No clear coat so easy to scuffscratch. Must be gentle cleaning it. My pic has a 60” TV on it.

This is a very solid TV Stand. Not sure why everyone says it’s hard to put together but i did it in 90 mins by myself with a power drill screw driver.. just don’t push them in at full speed. For the it’s much better than manufactured wood. Not high end but works well for what it is. Definitely looks nice. The walnut is darker than it looks online. Fits a 77” Samsung very well
With soon to be new floors comes new furniture! Like others said, be very careful about the top getting scratched when putting it together. I got a little scratch from accidentally laying it on the unfinished hardwood. It’s fairly light when assembled, and very straightforward to put together. Recommend! Picture is with a 55” TV.
