Tom Cruise has sold his Colorado compound for its full $39.5 million asking price.

He was cruisin’ for a sale — and, boy, did he get one.

Just two months after listing his Colorado estate for $39.5 million, actor Tom Cruise has sold the 320-acre spread for its full asking price, its listing brokerage told The Post.

Tom Cruise's 320-acre estate in Telluride is nestled in the mountains for privacy.

The property snoops at the Wall Street Journal first reported news of the sale Friday. Listing agent Dan Dockray, of LIV Sotheby’s International Realty, told the paper that the Telluride property entered contract within its first week on the market.

Kitchen

“It all really depended on who had their Gulfstream warming up on the tarmac to get out there first,” Eric Lavey, Dockray’s colleague, told the Journal.

The handsome wood-heavy home has beamed ceilings and oversize windows.

The March debut of the listing marked the home’s first time publicly available for sale. In 2014, Cruise — known for his roles in “Top Gun” and “Vanilla Sky” among many other films — hired a broker to market the property in a hush-hush manner for a much higher $59 million ask.

A nearly 10,000-square-foot home means room for a pool table.

Cruise spent several years designing the home, made with stone and cedar touches, which finished up in 1994. There are seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms, and the home, nestled in the mountains, is built for privacy. It’s also accessed via a 1-mile driveway and stands behind a gate.

There are outdoor areas for lounging.

The main house measures nearly 10,000 square feet — and comes equipped with a chef’s kitchen, wood-beamed ceilings and oversize windows that look out to the mountains. Other perks include several fireplaces, a gym, a three-car garage and outdoor entertaining areas.

The grounds also have a three-bedroom guest lodge.

Tom Cruise mansion, Tom Cruise, Tom Cruise home

Tom Cruise is one of the biggest stars in Hollywood. He has starred in major film franchises such as Mission Impossible, Jack Reacher , and Top Gun. He's also been featured in hit films like Jerry Maguire, A Few Good Men, and many others. He is also a four-time Oscar nominee. With a decorated acting resume, he can afford to live in private luxury. An example of this is Tom Cruise's $39.5 million former mansion in Telluride, Colorado.

Around the '90s when Cruise was still establishing his presence in the Hollywood scene, he acquired a nearly 10,000-square-foot mansion situated in the Rocky Mountain neighborhood. The Oscar nominee purchased the property for an undisclosed amount.

Fast forward to 2014, Cruise became open to the idea of selling the Rocky Mountain mansion. As a result, he initially privately listed the property for $59 million. But due to sentimental reasons, Cruise never fully pushed through with the public listing until 2021. After just two months on the market, Cruise sold the property for a cool $39.5 million.

Here are some photos of Tom Cruise's $39.5 million former mansion in Telluride, Colorado.

Outside of the home, Cruise probably didn't have any problems getting some fresh air. Aside from the surplus of green spaces, Cruise also enjoyed views of jets coming from and going to the Telluride Regional Airport from atop a hill. Moreover, the property also has a helipad nearby. With several aviation sightings, one cannot help but think about Cruise's remarkable acting performances in the pair of Top Gun movies.

Tom Cruise is one of the biggest Hollywood stars. So of course he is also one of the highest-paid actors in the industry today. Aside from his lucrative paychecks as an actor and a producer, he also enjoys a lot of earnings from his various endorsement deals. As per Celebrity Net Worth, Tom Cruise has a net worth of around $600 million.

Nevertheless, this is all the information that we have on Tom Cruise's $39.5 million mansion in Telluride, Colorado.

Tom Cruise Sells His Longtime Telluride Ranch for $39.5 Million - See Inside!

The 320-acre Colorado property was the setting for the actor's 2008 Oprah interview, and where he and then-fiancee Katie Holmes shared the first photos of daughter Suri in 2006

Tom Cruise is officially saying goodbye to his 320-acre estate in Telluride, Colorado.

The actor, 58, has sold the 7-bedroom, 9-bathroom property where he famously sat down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2008 and, a year and a half earlier, opened up to Vanity Fair alongside then-fiancée Katie Holmes , sharing the first photos of their daughter, Suri.

The home is was listed for $39.5 million in March, with lead agent Eric Lavey and Dan Dockray of Sotheby's International Realty . It has now sold at asking.

According to the home's listing, the secluded, sprawling ranch was "custom-built for privacy, where unspoiled natural beauty, sweeping mountain vistas and outdoor recreation abound."

There's an impressive 11,512 square feet of living space split between an almost 10,000-square-foot main house and a guest house with three bedrooms.

Warm wood is the star of the show throughout the interior, featuring heavily in the furnishings, flooring, walls and even the kitchen's counters and island.

Amenities on the property include a game room that currently holds a billiards table, foosball table and piano; a fitness center; two fireplaces; an outdoor terrace and a three-car garage.

"Enveloped in mountain majesty and boasting extensive forested trails, this secluded estate - accessed via a scenic one-mile drive from a secure gated entry - is only minutes from historic downtown Telluride for world-class skiing and golf," the listing notes.

According to Vanity Fair , Cruise began making plans for the compound more than 30 years ago. He completed it in 1994, and put it on the market for $59 million back in 2014.

In her 2006 interview with Cruise and Holmes, 42, Vanity Fair 's Jane Sarkin described the home as having the feeling "of a sprawling lodge or chalet , with rustic, log-cabin touches-informal, airy, built with honey-colored deadwood from Oregon."

According to Sarkin, Holmes, Cruise and their kids (Suri, then 5 months old, and Cruise's son Connor , now 26, and daughter Isabella , now 28) spent their days at the ranch riding around a makeshift motocross track, jumping on an in-ground trampoline, playing golf and sitting around an outdoor fire pit.

Telluride — a place to ski, a place to hike and a place to live if you’re in the market for a $39.5 million home.

Actor Tom Cruise, popular for his roles in “Top Gun” and “Mission Impossible,” is selling his 11,512-square-foot home. The 320-acre property went on sale Friday.

The custom-built house has seven bedrooms and nine full bathrooms, along with two fireplaces, a three-car garage, fitness center and a recreational area. The guest house has three additional bedrooms.

The house was completed by Cruise in 1994, built with privacy in mind. There is a mile-long driveway going up to the house that Dan Dockray of LIV Sotheby’s International Realty estimates would be about $4 million to build in the present day.

“[The house is] almost invisible from other properties because of where it sits,” said Dockray. “Everybody that’s lived in Telluride knows where it is, but a lot of people haven’t seen the house because you can’t see it from anywhere.”

Seven years ago, Cruise tried to sell his property for $59 million, but it was never publicly listed. Dockray said it was only softly marketed.

“I think [Cruise] wasn’t ready yet, although I can’t speak for the seller’s reasons,” Dockray said.

Dockray is confident this house will be gone in the next three months. Not only is it priced well, Dockray says, but it is also appealing to buyers looking for a change in scenery.

With the pandemic, people have been freed up to work from virtually anywhere. Dockray said that instead of people staying for two weeks out of the year, it could be months given the remote work environment.

Additionally, people who live in compact urban areas don’t have as much to do during a pandemic. The mountains offer a lot of outdoor activities that may appeal to city folk.

“We’ve never actually seen a market this strong — high end, low end, whatever,” Dockray said. “It’s actually super incredible. … I think there’s that lifestyle shift that people are just becoming aware of.”

Tom Cruise’s Telluride, Colo., estate—which is full of sports-oriented amenities befitting an action star—is returning to market for $39.5 million.

This isn’t Mr. Cruise’s first effort to sell: Seven years ago, he tapped a real-estate agent to market the property for $59 million, though it was never publicly listed, according to current listing agents Eric Lavey of LIV Sotheby’s International Realty and his colleague Dan Dockray. "I’m not sure [Cruise] was ready to sell it yet," Mr. Lavey said.

Ultra-private, the roughly 320-acre property is located at the end of a gated mile-long driveway that is surrounded by a forest of Aspen trees. It borders a national forest on three sides and is a few minutes from downtown Telluride. Located on a hillside, the property sits at an elevation that allows the owner to look down on planes arriving at the nearby airport, the agents said.

"Everybody knows who owns this property, but you can’t see it from almost anywhere," said Mr. Dockray.

Mr. Cruise spent several years designing and constructing the native stone-and-cedar home, which was completed in 1994. Roughly 10,000 square feet, the four-bedroom house is designed in classic mountain style, with wood-beamed ceilings, wood-paneled walls and stone fireplaces. There is also a three-bedroom guesthouse on the property.

The activity-oriented features include a large sports court, a dirt bike and snowmobile track and an extensive network of trails for hiking, snowshoeing and all-terrain vehicles. There is also a spa, an office and a three-car garage.

A spokeswoman for Mr. Cruise didn’t respond to a request for comment on his reasons for selling. The listing agents said they believed the actor hadn’t used the house in quite some time. They noted that the market in Telluride has been extremely active over the past few months as a result of the Covid-19 crisis, with buyers coming in from major cities across the country.

"People sat down during this lockdown and said ‘What am i doing with my life? I want a better lifestyle,’ " Mr. Dockray said.

Mr. Cruise, 58, has appeared in movies like "Top Gun" and the "Mission Impossible" franchise. He has recently been filming in Europe.

Vail Village’s Ore House closes its doors after 46 years

News News | Jun 6, 2014

tom cruise vail house

VAIL — A Vail Village staple, almost as old as the town itself, closed its doors at the end of April.

Owners of the Ore House Restaurant on Bridge Street, known for its steaks and sunny deck, announced that it would not be renewing its lease and not re-opening in the current space. Management said that business was good, but that renewal of the lease did not work out for the business.

“It’s been a long history of great relationships born and long-lasting friendships with great stories and some unforgettable moments,” said a note on the restaurant’s website. “Apres ski will never be the same. Thanks again for the great times.”

The restaurant opened in 1968 in the village and moved to its Bridge Street location about 25 years ago, going on to become an apres ski favorite and a recognizable landmark with its flowery deck dotted with red umbrellas.

“It’s been a long history of great relationships born and long-lasting friendships with great stories and some unforgettable moments. Apres ski will never be the same. Thanks again for the great times.” Note on OreHouse.com @media ( min-width: 1440px ) { .vail-donation-mobile { display: none; } } body.vaildaily .btn:hover { color: white !important; } Support Local Journalism Donate

End of an era

Part owner Larry Anderson started at the restaurant as a bartender in the early ’70s and worked his way up to waiter, manager and finally partner. He remembers the days when the steakhouse was a hot spot for everyone from the rich and famous to powder-crazed locals.

“It was an era. It’s been around for a long time and I’m sad to see it go,” he said. “It was a staple around town for many years, and in the ’70s it was the place to be.”

He describes people (gladly) waiting two hours for a dinner seating, cramming into the small space and bar area.

“You couldn’t wedge yourself in. It was the local happening place, so if you had to wait, all the better, because you wanted to be part of the action,” Anderson remembered. “We had two huge guys working the door to keep things in order.”

The spot was always known for its apres offerings, steaks and, for a time, the salad bar, a novelty “that was new back then,” Anderson said.

It played host to the likes of a slew of American ski racers, who would celebrate post-race at the Ore House — President Ford’s Secret Service crew, O.J. and Nicole Simpson and movie stars such as Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman.

Anderson remembered once during the holiday rush when he was asked to go talk to Tom Cruise. The young actor had recently reached star status with the release of “Risky Business.”

“Here’s this small little kid in a one-piece shell ski outfit. He wouldn’t look me in the eye when we talked, and was mumbling, giving me this spiel I couldn’t understand,” laughed Anderson. “Finally turns out he was saying that he was Tom Cruise, and he didn’t want to be amongst a crowd, and was wondering if there wasn’t something we could do about it.”

Anderson handed Cruise over to the host and went back to the kitchen. A bit later, he went out to check on what had happened and didn’t see Cruise anywhere. He asked the bartender if she’d seen him, and she responded that Cruise had tried to buy a drink, but had no ID, so she wouldn’t serve him.

“At this point I got worried and started looking for him,” Anderson said. “I finally found him on the stairs of where Russell’s is, reading a script. We took care of him, but we thought it was pretty funny that even Tom Cruise couldn’t have dinner or even buy a drink.”

What’s next?

Signs of the restaurant’s existence are already mostly gone as the space is renovated. Gorsuch, which owns the building, will expand its retail shop into the now-empty space.

General manager Steve Shelman doesn’t rule out the possibility of the Ore House re-opening in the future at a different location.

“We would love to keep it. Business had been great, and it was growing,” he said. “We’ve looked at a couple other places in town, but it has to be the right spot. We won’t open a spot just to keep it open.”

Where Does Tom Cruise Live And How Big Is His House?

Tom Cruise at the 2018 "Mission Impossible -- Fallout" premiere

With a  net worth of $600 million , Tom Cruise and the word "movie star" are practically synonymous. Given his impressive resume, spanning from his breakout 1983 role in "Risky Business" to his ever-more-momentous "Mission Impossible" blockbuster franchise, the actor has not stopped making the big bucks for both himself and everyone around him — with his films earning hundreds of upon hundreds in the three decades he's been a star.

Like many of Hollywood's biggest stars, Cruise's life story was as close to rags-to-riches as they come. "For years, all I had were a bed, a desk and a chair," Tom Cruise told Roger Ebert in 1986. "When I was making a movie, they put me in hotel rooms. Between jobs, I moved back into my apartment, and my lifestyle dropped considerably." Coming from an underprivileged childhood, Cruise quickly learned the value of hard work no matter one's net worth.  "It's a strange thing, being handed so much power," Cruise also related to Ebert.  "My point of view and my values haven't changed. Everybody wants to push and pull me, but I refuse to change my lifestyle."

Nonetheless, Cruise's lifestyle has changed on the surface at least. Given that he has no doubt ditched that scarcely decorated apartment for cushier digs since, let's explore just where and what type of home Cruise inhabits these days!

Tom Cruise's penthouse is cool — even for Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise has called Florida his home base since 2018. Per Architectural Digest , Cruise fetched a pretty $55 million when he sold his Los Angeles and New York properties in 2016, moving into a multimillion-dollar penthouse in Clearwater, Florida. Planned by a wealthy Scientologist — Cruise is controversially tied to the religion — the 10-story SkyView condominium is one block from the Church of Scientology, per People . With Cruise reportedly close friends with church leader David Miscavige, a source told the outlet that the movie star was "very relaxed when he's here."

In addition to occupying the entire top two floors, according to AD, Cruise's pad packs amenities like a roof deck, a nearly 40-foot pool, a bar, and more. What sets the pad apart from other celebrity dig, however, is the passageway that leads to a private, smaller condo on the second floor (which houses a flight simulator, for one). Additionally, there is a nine-car garage and private car elevator (what a cool phrase to say). Now that's  on par with expectations for the "Mission Impossible" star.

Tom Cruise sold his vacation home in Colorado for millions

Although Clearwater, Florida, might be Tom Cruise's personal headquarters, he also owns property in West Sussex, England — for one. Per The Sun , the estate was purchased by Cruise in 2006 for a reported $4.2 million. Bearing the regal title of "Rede Place," the property is located in Dormans Park, East Grinstead, which is reportedly close to the British headquarters of the Church of Scientology. Boasting 14 acres of land and an 11,331-square-foot interior, per insider , the manor was constructed in 2003, meaning Cruise would likely be one of its very first owners.

Cruise parted ways with his longtime 320-acre Telluride, Colo. ranch, which was reportedly a vacation refuge frequented by Cruise with ex-wife Katie Holmes and his children. Putting the ranch on sale for $39.5 million in March, per Forbes , the home sold without a hitch two months later for the asking price . Ardent followers of Cruise's career might remember this was the shooting location for a follow-up to his infamous 2005 interview with Oprah Winfrey , as noted by  Town & Country . However, Cruise's Telluride ranch's main draw, aside from being a ski haven known for its celebrity denizens, is the cozy seclusion it provides for the uber-famous. No wonder it sold so fast!

The Mummy

  • An ancient Egyptian princess is awakened from her crypt beneath the desert, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.
  • Though safely entombed in a crypt deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient princess, whose destiny was unjustly taken from her, is awakened in the current day bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension. — Universal Pictures
  • Soldier of fortune Nick Morton (Tom Cruise) accidentally discovers the tomb of a female pharaoh of ancient Egypt named Ahmanet (Sofia Boutella) during a firefight in the Middle East. But when he and a British Egyptologist (Annabelle Wallis) try to excavate the findings, the resurrected Ahmanet emerges from her sarcophagus with a plot to enslave humanity. — ahmetkozan
  • Destined to rule all of Egypt, the beautiful princess Ahmanet sees her sacred birthright stolen from her instead when the pharaoh begets an heir. Eternally damned for an unholy pact with the dark Egyptian deity Set, the now-abominable servant of evil must endure an everlasting torment deep into the bowels of Mesopotamia, until opportunistic U.S. Army reconnaissance Sergeant Nick Morton inadvertently sets her free some 5,000 years later. Now, Ahmanet, the all-powerful vessel of destruction, thirsts to fulfill her destiny as tragedy befalls present-day London. Will Nick let the Mummy plunge our world into death and despair? — Nick Riganas
  • London, 1157 A.D. Crusader knights bury one of their own with a jewel resting in his hands. Jump to the present day where the tombs of many other crusaders are discovered beneath London's catacombs. Dr. Henry Jekyll (Russell Crowe) enters the tunnels and comes across one particular tomb with hieroglyphs, leading him to realize what this means. Through flashbacks, Jekyll tells the story of Princess Ahmanet (Sofia Boutella). She was a cunning warrior who was ready to succeed her father, the Pharaoh Menehptre (Selva Rasalingam), until his second wife gave birth to a boy. Knowing that the boy would be the Pharaoh's new successor, Ahmanet made a pact with Set, the god of death, to sell her soul for a dark power. Ahmanet murders Menehptre, his wife, and their baby. She prepares to perform a ritual on her lover using a special dagger that would give Set a body of his own, but the Pharaoh's priests stopped Ahmanet and killed her lover. She was mummified alive and had her sarcophagus taken away from Egypt and down a tomb where she could never be found. We move to Mesopotamia (or Iraq) in the present day. U.S. Army Sergeant Nick Morton (Tom Cruise) and his buddy Corporal Chris Vail (Jake Johnson) are reconnaissance soldiers riding toward a village being overrun by insurgents. Nick wants to go down for some adventure while Vail is strongly against it. They go down there anyway and get shot at. Vail orders an airstrike to take the insurgents out. As the bombs are dropped, a hole opens in the ground, nearly sucking Nick and Vail down there. They discover Ahmanet's tomb. The guys' superior, Colonel Greenway (Courtney B. Vance), comes to the site in a helicopter and immediately berates the two for running off and doing their own thing, chasing insurgents. Moments later, an archaeologist named Jenny Halsey (Annabelle Wallis) shows up and smacks Nick for stealing a map from her after they shared a night together. After seeing the tomb, Nick, Vail, and Jenny all descend to see what is down there. Jenny notes that there are watcher statues facing inward instead of outward, and there are chains holding the sarcophagus down while submerged in mercury to weaken evil spirits. Nick shoots a chain, causing the sarcophagus to rise from its holdings. He then sees a vision of Ahmanet calling to him, thanking him for freeing her. A bunch of camel spiders begin crawling down from the walls. Vail shoots at them but he gets bitten in the neck, though Nick claims they are not poisonous. They get back to the surface and bring the sarcophagus up. Everyone rides home in a plane. Vail starts to act weird as his skin has turned grey and his eyes look discolored. He tries to cut the sarcophagus free from its holdings. Greenway approaches him to stop him, but Vail stabs him twice, killing Greenway. Vail starts moving toward Nick and the other soldiers, forcing Nick to shoot Vail dead. Nick and Jenny go into the cockpit and see a whole flock of crows flying and crashing through the windshield. The pilots are killed, and the plane starts to go down. Nick gives Jenny a parachute and pulls it so she can get out safely. The plane then crashes with everyone onboard. Nick wakes up in a body bag at a morgue in London. Standing next to him is Vail's ghost, who tells him that they are both cursed. Jenny is asked to identify the bodies of the deceased but is surprised to see Nick alive. At the crash site, rescue workers find the sarcophagus and Ahmanet's corpse. One man approaches it and is caught off-guard as Ahmanet sucks the life out of him and his partner to regenerate her body. She then uses her powers to turn them into reanimated corpse slaves. Nick and Jenny are in a pub. He goes to the bathroom and sees Vail's ghost talking to him again. He warns Nick that Ahmanet has chosen him for a reason. Nick then runs out of the pub and is cornered in an alley by a whole swarm of rats. They crawl all over him as he sees Ahmanet crawling toward him, but he is snapped out of this vision by Jenny. She tells Nick what she learned from reading the hieroglyphs on the sarcophagus. She knows about Set's dagger and the jewel that must join it to complete the ritual. Jenny tells Nick about the jewel being buried with the crusaders there in London. Nick and Jenny go to the crusaders' tombs and they uncover the jewel from the crusader's coffin. As they try to leave, they are trapped by Ahmanet and her undead slaves. Nick and Jenny fight off the undead and escape the tomb. They ride through the woods in a van and are chased by Ahmanet and the undead. An undead slave crashes through the windshield and causes the van to overturn and roll down a hill. Ahmanet tries to get Nick, but she is shot with a hook and is taken down. A whole team of men show up to rescue Nick and Jenny. The two are taken to Prodigium, a facility located beneath the Natural History Museum of London. As Nick walks through the hall, he sees a number of artifacts, including a skull with fangs (Dracula?) and a scaly forearm (Creature from the Black Lagoon??). Nick meets Jekyll, who begins to explain what he knows about Ahmanet and the forces of evil out there. Their facility is dedicated to uncovering dark forces and containing them. Ahmanet is chained up and is subdued with mercury being pumped through her body. Nick approaches her and listens to her talking about the ritual she attempted to perform on her lover. She tries to sway Nick by saying he would have complete control over death and become a living god if he joined her. Nick returns to Jekyll's office with Jenny. Jekyll appears to be undergoing a transformation and tries to prevent it using a serum, but Nick grabs the serum, demanding answers. A Prodigium agent pulls Jenny out but leaves Nick inside. Jekyll then turns into his monstrous alter ego, Edward Hyde. He and Nick fight, with Hyde nearly winning until he gets injected with the serum. Meanwhile, Ahmanet summons a camel spider to crawl into the ear of another agent so that he may break her free from her holds. Ahmanet is loose and she takes the dagger and the jewel. Nick and Jenny flee the facility as Ahmanet begins to unleash a sandstorm upon the city. Nick and Jenny run through the tunnels where they encounter more of Ahmanet's undead slaves. The two fight them again, with Nick crushing or ripping their heads off. They are pushed into the water by an undead but they destroy it. Nick and Jenny swim up for air but Ahmanet grabs Jenny and drags her underwater. Nick fights off more of the undead and tries to save Jenny, but she drowns. Nick pulls her body out of the water and is confronted by Ahmanet. He attempts to smash the jewel until Ahmanet once again tries to persuade him to join her. Nick holds the dagger out as if to give it to her, but he instead stabs himself with it, now becoming possessed by Set. He battles Ahmanet and gives her the kiss of death to suck the life out of her, reducing her back to a corpse. Nick then goes over to Jenny and brings her back to life by screaming at her to wake up. He then disappears. Jenny reunites with Jekyll as Ahmanet's body is placed back into a sarcophagus filled with mercury. Jenny wonders what will happen to Nick now that he is technically a monster. Jekyll muses that it took a monster to defeat a monster, and that there is hope for Nick so long as he retains a shred of his humanity. Somewhere in the desert, Nick has brought Vail back to life. They ride their horses off on another adventure as a sandstorm follows them.

Tom Cruise House: 10 Facts through Architect's Lens - Sheet1

Heart in Hollywood Hills | Tom Cruise House

The country estates in Tuscany, Italy, inspired the Hollywood Hills House’s striking Old World charm. With seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms , and light-filled living areas with vaulted ceilings, European-style decor, and wide-plank hardwood flooring, the entire house was remodelled in 2006, most likely by Cruise. In addition, there are multiple outdoor dining terraces, a stunning chef’s kitchen, and a three-acre garden with a lagoon-style pool. This stunning home is ideal for Hollywood royalty since it offers breathtaking 180-degree views of Los Angeles from its private gardens.

Cosy in Colorado

The stunning 320-acre Colorado ranch provided him with privacy, serenity, and breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape . The 930 sq. m  house includes vaulted ceilings, floor-to-ceiling fireplaces, and spectacular views of the mountains. The stunning residence has four bedrooms and was constructed from native stone and bleached cedar timbers. The spacious lower level houses a formal dining room, den, and game area with wood pillars and exposed beam ceilings.  The apartment, packed with high-end home amenities, has a fitness centre, a cutting-edge security system, a snowmelt system, a wet bar, and underfloor heating. This house was indeed an escape away from reality for Cruise.

Tom Cruise House: 10 Facts through Architect's Lens - Sheet5

Architects of Grandeur | Tom Cruise House

An average family of 2-4 people requires 140-240 sq. m of space to lead a comfortable life. Tom Cruise’s houses have a main structure that is 930 sq. m on average, which is over 4-5 times the size of the typical home. While the size of a typical garden is approximately half an acre, Tom Cruise’s Colorado Ranch was a whopping 230 acres!

What makes the area of his houses so grand? The size of the house ultimately increases as more spacious areas like bedrooms , bathrooms, living rooms, kitchens, and various spaces for entertainment and comfort are added. Anthropometrically speaking, designing large spaces is in itself a challenge, too– making sure the distance between two points is convenient yet grand, practical yet impressive, and in the end, user-friendly. For example– the working triangle of the kitchen is not disrupted due to larger spaces, and the distance between a bedroom, bathroom, and a walk-in closet is reasonable.

Real Estate as an Investment

Tom Cruise purchased several houses in order to live comfortably, but he also sold them for a profit when he no longer required the property, demonstrating his investment in real estate as a source of revenue. He paid $30.5 million for his Beverly Hills property, which he then sold for $38 million nearly a decade later. Furthermore, he purchased his west Sussex mansion for $4.2 million and sold it for $6.2 million. Additionally, he sold off his Colorado ranch and Hollywood Hills villa for sums of $39.5 million and $11.4 million, respectively. This shows that the real estate market has the potential for high returns on investments in the long run.

Lush, Lavish, and Luxurious | Tom Cruise House

Built with a gorgeous classical European facade– the Beverly Hills mansion is spread over a land of 1.3 acres offering a living space of 930 sq.m –consisting of seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms. It also has a spacious backyard, pool, tennis and basketball courts, multiple guest houses, and a large playground for children. There is a lovely connection to nature evident across the exteriors. A beautiful facade is displayed by the simplicity and blend of green, white, and grey colours. This house undoubtedly offered the privacy Tom needed due to its lush surroundings and high walls.

Privacy is Power

When you look at Tom Cruise’s houses, you’ll see that they all share the trait of being incredibly secluded and having few neighbours. After having their entire life talked about, celebrities prefer their isolation and the freedom from dealing with their neighbours. For instance, the Colorado Ranch is tucked away among mountains in a rural area, and Beverly Hills Mansion is situated in a quiet area far from the limelight, giving the actor a relaxing environment to enjoy with his family and/or on his own.

Another question is whether this has an impact on the site’s accessibility. It sure does. In reality, anyone who can afford a million-dollar home is likely to afford a driver and a vehicle for their convenience– accessibility being the least of their concerns.

Spatial Arrangement

All of his homes feature spacious gardens and backyards , tennis and basketball courts, a fitness centre, a home theatre, a game room, a hot tub, numerous bedrooms and baths, a chef’s kitchen, guest rooms, and numerous terraces, which not only make a beautiful place to live in but also offer a wonderful connect to nature.

Traditional Meets Modern: A beautiful blend | Tom Cruise House

The 14-acre mega-mansion known as Rede Place (the West Sussex estate) boasts beautiful interiors of 1050 square meters. It displays a blend of traditional and modern design, displaying dramatic patterns, gabled roofs, and large windows. The home perfectly combines the best features of both worlds, from coffered ceilings to natural timber accents, from zoned dramatic lighting to integrated sound systems. The vast area is split between the main home and a guest pavilion, with 8 bedrooms and five bathrooms. A large dance studio, a movie theatre, and other amenities can be found in the basement, while the master suite and a separate sitting area are on the top floor. There is a tennis court, a hot tub, and a pool in the exteriors.

Tom Cruise House: 10 Facts through Architect's Lens - Sheet4

Life in the Big Apple

Some of Cruise’s earlier properties were purchased in New York City, his birthplace. Tom resided in a 200 sq.m unit in an apartment building, which is quite the opposite of his now enormous and secluded home. This must be Tom Cruise’s simplest house, with only two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a gym.

Fabulous Florida | Tom Cruise House

His most recent and current residence is that of a multimillion-dollar penthouse in Florida. This 10-story structure, also known as the “Sky View” building, offers approximately 36 residences, with Tom Cruise residing on the top 2 floors– offering stunning views at all times. The residence features four bedrooms, a gym, a game room, a home cinema , a roof deck with an infinity pool, a hot tub, gardens, and a bar. This building, which is not far from the Church of Scientology headquarters, was created by fellow Scientologist Moises Agami. Cruise has also been a proud member of this Church.

Over the years, Tom Cruise has had a number of gorgeous properties, some with stunning architectural characteristics that range from classical to modern. Tom Cruise’s houses have it all, with gorgeous interiors and exteriors and a brilliant connection to nature. In the end, what everyone wants to do is go home to a comfortable and relaxing place because, after all there’s no place like home.

Val Kilmer on the Tom Cruise 'Top Gun: Maverick' reunion, that final hug: 'Straight from the heart'

"Top Gun: Maverick" has thrilled record-breaking theater audiences with jet action and throwbacks to the original  "Top Gun."

But the beating heart of Tom Cruise's screen return as Pete "Maverick" Mitchell after 36 years is the emotional meeting with one-time "Top Gun" pilot rival Tom  "Iceman" Kazansky, played by Val Kilmer.

On screen, Iceman is now Admiral Kazansky , who has spent his Navy career looking after the rebellious Maverick and is near the end of his life due to an unspecified illness. The real performance comes from the two superstars who shot to worldwide fame with 1986's  "Top Gun" and are reunited in the long-awaited sequel.

Cruise, 59, has remained one of the world's last movie superstars, while the once famously mercurial leading man Kilmer, 62, battled throat cancer in the 2010s that required a tracheotomy which still greatly impacts his speaking voice.

There have been many teary eyes watching the "Maverick" reunion, including from Kilmer.

"I was very moved the first time I saw it. Almost 40 years is a long time for a reunion," Kilmer tells USA TODAY over email of the scene. "We laughed all day. Tom is great and surprisingly funny!!"

"Maverick" director Joseph Kosinski says the scene's depth was boosted by real emotions.

"It's a long friendship. They were both there at their career beginnings with the original 'Top Gun.' I'm sure there was a little bit of a rivalry back then, just like the characters," says Kosinski. "But for both to be back in this movie, it was a really special moment. There was so much joy."

Kilmer says he was gunning for a reunion as soon as the sequel was announced three decades after the original "Top Gun."

"I called the agent immediately," Kilmer says. "Yes, 'Top Gun' has all the perfect elements for a sequel."

Kilmer, who was indifferent to earning his "Top Gun" role in his original audition, wrote In his 2020 memoir  "I’m Your Huckleberry"  that he pleaded for the "Maverick" part: "As the Temptations sang in the heyday of Motown soul, ‘ain’t too proud to beg.’ The producers went for it and Cruise went for it.' "

Kosinski says it was Kilmer who suggested the idea of Iceman serving as the high-ranking mentor, discussing the part with himself, Cruise, and producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

"It is nice to see Iceman reach such success in the career he loved," Kilmer says of his new admiral status. "It's a good story arc. And it was very exciting to be back at it with Tom."

In the scene, instructor Maverick is called to Iceman's house to discuss his pilot recruits, including Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw (Miles Teller), the troubled pilot son of Maverick's late BFF Nick "Goose" Bradshaw (Anthony Edwards).

Kilmer, wearing a sweater and a scarf, types most of his "Maverick" dialogue to Cruise on a computer keyboard, including asking, "How's my wingman?" - a follow-up to Iceman's final line to his rival in the original, "You can be my wingman, anytime."

But as the "Maverick" scene deepens, Iceman eventually speaks, saying, "The Navy needs you Maverick, they (the pilots) need you."

The scene evolved to the speaking finale, says Kosinski. "It ends up being more powerful when (Kilmer) speaks at the end of the scene. Those words carry more weight," says Kosinski.

"It changed every day in rehearsals," says Kilmer. "They made the right choice in the end."

The final hug between the two onscreen was "straight from the heart," says Kilmer. "I love Tom. We’ve always gotten along great."

There is a moment of levity as the two argue over who was a better pilot since Iceman won the Top Gun Trophy in the original.

"One can always use a laugh," says Kilmer who makes it clear he's the ace. "There can only be one Top Gun..."

Kilmer, who starred with his daughter Mercedes in the 2020 crime drama "Pay Dirt," says he's well healthwise and looking forward to more work.

"I’m feeling strong and excited to play any chance I get," Kilmer says.
