How to Check Your Entire Uber Ride History with Just a Click

While there’s a way to check your ride history from within the Uber app itself, it only lets you see all your rides individually with no option to get an overview of all the rides that you’ve taken so far.

But there’s a simple solution, and that’s exactly what I’m going to talk about in this article. However, before we get there, let’s first take a look at how you can check your Uber ride history using just the app.

To check your ride history from within the app itself, follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Open up the Uber app and click on the menu icon in the top left corner.

Step 2: Tap on the Your Trips option.

That will open up a list of all your past and upcoming rides with Uber, with the latest trip listed on the top. You can scroll down to see all your older trips but if you’re a frequent rider, scrolling through older rides is going to be a pain.

Tapping on each trip reveals all of the trip related details, including the fare, pickup and drop destinations, etc.

But, using this method is only useful if you want to check details for a single trip. If you want to see an overview of all your trips, then you’ll have to switch to your computer and open up Chrome .

To check your ride history using Chrome, follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Head over to the Uber website and log in with your Uber account.

Step 2: Download the RideShare Trip Stats extension from the link below.

Step 3: Once installed, tap on the extension icon next to the address bar and click on OK in the prompt.

Step 4: The extension will then redirect you to the Trips page which is pretty much the same as the Trips page on the app.

Step 5: Click on the extension icon again, and it will start processing all your data to create a detailed report.

Step 6: You can choose to get a detailed report with individual trip data by clicking on Yes in the following pop-up, but it will take much longer to process and might even trigger email receipts which will bombard your email ID with all your Uber receipts.

Step 7: Click on No instead, and the extension will instantly show all your ride statistics, including the number of rides, total amount spent, total time spent in an Uber, etc.

The data displayed by the extension is organized quite well, and it even shows information like the type of Uber rides you took, your favorite pickup and dropoff locations, the longest time you spent in an Uber, and also the names of the drivers you traveled with more than once.

The Uber app and the Uber Riders website allow you to view and manage your trip history. You can view the trips you've taken, see the drivers that have taken you, and review your fare breakdowns. You can also start the lost item retrieval process from your trip history, and get receipts emailed to your email account.

Things You Should Know

As far as Uber is concerned, you’re an independent contractor who provides a service, not an employee. That’s why Uber doesn't withhold taxes from your payments. It’s also why the company reports your earnings on 1099 forms, rather than on a W-2 .

Some Uber driver-partners receive two Uber 1099s :

  • Form 1099-K reports the total amount your passengers paid for the rides you provided through the third-party payment processor. This includes all the money you collected from passengers, including the Uber commission and other fees. As a result, the amount shown on Box 1a of the form is typically greater than the amount you actually received. However, you can usually deduct the additional fees as business expenses, so you pay taxes only on what you actually earned.
  • Form 1099-NEC  (1099-MISC in prior years) provides an accounting for any other income you’re paid, including referrals and non-driving-related bonuses.

The IRS planned to implement changes to the 1099-K reporting requirement for the 2023 tax year. However, the IRS  recently delayed the implementation  of the new $600 reporting threshold for transactions from third party processors like Venmo and Paypal, reverting tax year 2023 back to the previously higher 1099-K reporting threshold (over $20,000 in payments and more than 200 transactions). However, some individual states have already begun to use the lower reporting threshold. Maryland, Massachusetts, Vermont, Virginia and the District of Columbia have a $600 threshold for requiring 1099-K in effect for 2023. North Carolina and Montana also have a $600 threshold, although state tax officials have said these states may offer relief. If you don’t receive a 1099-K, the IRS still expects you will report all your income, regardless of the amount.

There is no threshold for payment card transactions such as credit card swipes.

Even if you don’t receive a 1099, you're still required to report your ridesharing income to the IRS.

TurboTax Tip: The largest tax deduction for most Uber drivers is the business use of a car. You can deduct the actual expenses of operating the vehicle or you can typically use the standard IRS mileage deduction. For 2023 the rate is 65.5 cents per mile. The rate increases to 67 cents per mile for 2024.

You will most likely report the income from your 1099s on Schedule C, Profit or Loss from Business . Since Uber reports this income information directly to the IRS, you don't have to include the actual 1099 forms with your tax return. Schedule C can also be used to list your business-related expenses.

  • When you subtract your business expenses from your income, you will enter the difference—known as the business income or loss—on Schedule 1 of Form 1040.
  • This income amount is also used on Schedule SE, in calculating your self-employment taxes (for Medicare and Social Security).

To get you off to a good start with your business tax deductions, Uber provides you with a tax summary that breaks down the totals of the amounts on both your 1099-K and 1099-NEC. The tax summary shows the total amount your passengers paid for Uber booking fees as well as other fees, such as tolls and split fare fees. You can list these fees as business expense deductions on Schedule C so you don't pay taxes on them.

The Uber tax summary of total online miles includes all the miles you drove waiting for a trip, en-route to a rider, and on a trip.

You can claim any other business-related mileage , such as the mileage you drove to pick up riders, the mileage you drove after dropping off the passengers if you're waiting for another ride, and the mileage you drove before rides were canceled. However, you must keep careful records of your off-trip mileage.

There are two ways to calculate the business use of your car :

  • You can deduct the actual expenses of operating the vehicle, including gasoline, oil, insurance, car registration, repairs, maintenance, and depreciation or lease payments.
  • Or you can use the standard IRS mileage deduction. For 2023 the rate is 65.5 cents per mile. This increases to 67 cents per mile for 2024.

The standard IRS mileage deduction usually produces the higher deduction, and it’s definitely the easiest option. You simply multiply your total business miles by the IRS rate. Example:

  • You drove 10,000 miles in the first half of 2023.
  • Your expense equals $6,550 (10,000 X $ 0.655 = $6,550).

If you use the same vehicle for both your ridesharing business and your personal transportation, you must keep accurate records to separate the two uses. You're allowed to deduct only the expenses that apply to the business use of your car. The IRS can disallow any business expenses you can't support with mileage logs, receipts, or other documentation.

Your smartphone is essential to your business, so naturally its expenses are deductible. This can include:

  • The cost of the phone itself
  • The billing charges of your carrier
  • Any accessories that are essential to your business, such as chargers, mounts, and cradles

As with your car, you're only allowed to deduct the portion of your smartphone expenses that are related to your business use . For that reason, many Uber driver-partners purchase a new phone and dedicate it solely to their business. That way, 100% of all costs associated with that phone are deductible from their taxes.

Almost anything you spend on your ridesharing business will qualify as a tax-deductible business expense. This includes the business use of your car and mobile phone, but it can also include:

  • Bottled water, snacks and amenities for customers
  • Business taxes and licenses
  • City and airport fees
  • Freeway, highway, and bridge tolls

  • Car tool kit

Does Uber Track Your Miles? (What to Do if You Haven't Kept a Mileage Log)

If you drive for Uber, you can save a lot on your taxes by writing off the miles you log on the job. But say you forgot to keep track of them yourself. Does Uber track your miles for you?

Yes! The Uber app attempts to record all your “online miles” — the miles you drive while you have the app open.

Uber’s in-app tracking won’t always tell the full story about your deductible miles. But if you haven’t been logging them yourself, you can use Uber and other tools to reconstruct your business miles at tax time.

The mileage Uber tracks for you

These days, the Uber driver app attempts to track all the miles you drive while you have the app open : your online miles.

These can include the miles you drove on the way to a pickup, with a passenger — or UberEats delivery — in the car, and while waiting for your next trip. (This hasn’t always been the case — a few years ago, Uber only tracked the miles you drove while on a trip.)

You’ll see the total online miles tracked by Uber on your tax summary every year. To find this Uber tax document , go to the Tax Information tab of your Driver Dashboard. (It should be available by January 31.)

What Uber doesn’t track

At bare minimum, you can write off all the miles that Uber tracks for you. But online miles that the app reports might end up seeming low to you.

If you rely on Uber for your deductible miles, you’ll probably end up underreporting — and overpaying on your taxes. Some of your “offline” miles, after all, may still be tax-deductible.

For example, the app may not account for miles you drove to rides that ended up being canceled. You might also leave the app off when you drive to a grocery store to pick up passenger goodies, like mints and water bottles. Since you’re buying supplies for work, those miles are tax-deductible, even though you weren’t on your way to a passenger.

Because Uber tends to undercount your tax-deductible miles, most experienced drivers keep their own, separate mileage records , using a mileage log or mileage tracker app. 

Forgot to do this? Don’t worry — there are still ways to claim your work miles.

What to do if you forgot to track your miles

Mileage tracking can lead to hefty deductions for rideshare drivers . But you’re not out of luck if you haven’t been keeping up with your mileage log — or if you didn’t know you were supposed to keep one in the first place.

The IRS actually offers some guidance on deducting mileage when you have incomplete records. Turns out, forgetting to track your miles is actually pretty common.

If you haven’t been keeping your own mileage records, here’s what to do come tax season.

1. Look at your tax summary

The first step is easy: Just grab your Uber mileage from your tax summary. At the very least, you’ll be able to deduct these miles from your taxes.

2. Reconstruct your “lost” miles

Next, you’ll try to reverse-engineer all the other miles that you drove, to the best of your ability. Here are a few ways to reconstruct those lost miles.

Good news: The IRS website actually gives some guidance on how to take deductions when you don't have complete records. It mentions a technique called “sampling”.

Basically, if you kept good mileage records for part of the year, you can use those to “prove” your miles for the rest of the year. You just have to be able to show that the part of the year you did track was representative of your driving for the rest of the year.

Here’s an example: Say there was a month where you were really good about keeping detailed records during the first week. After that, you kind of… dropped off.

Your records from Uber show you did the same amount of driving in the other weeks of that month, so that first week was representative of the month as a whole. So you’d be able to extend that first week’s records to cover the whole month.

You can also use this sampling technique on a month-by-month basis, to cover the whole year. Say you only started tracking your Uber miles late in the year (because you didn’t realize you were supposed to before then).

If your Uber income from those months was consistent with what you made in the months you didn’t track, you can treat your partial record as a sample of the whole year’s deductible mileage.

Google Maps

If you have Google Maps on your phone, you might be able to use it to reclaim some of your lost miles. 

For this to work, you’ll have to have given the app permission to track you. With that setting enabled, just tap your profile picture and click on “Your timeline” to see a history of where you’ve traveled. You can use this to reconstruct some of the driving you did that wasn’t captured by the Uber app. 

Your Google Maps timeline won’t be completely accurate. It tends to take periodic snapshots of your location, and then backfill the route between those points. This tends to make it look like you’ve been driving In a series of straight lines, when in reality you may have taken winding side roads. 

That’s why you should expect Google Maps to slightly undercount your mileage. Still, what it does report will help you get tax savings you otherwise wouldn’t have access to.

iPhone Apple Maps

Are you an iPhone user who likes to stay within the Apple ecosystem? You can still get some of your location history from the iPhone Maps app — it just won’t be as detailed as what you see in Google Maps.

Instead of approximate, reconstructed routes, Apple Maps will just show you the places that you visited, and when. You can use these to reverse-engineer some of the miles you’ve driven, but it’ll require you to manually figure out the distance between points — a bit of an arduous task sometimes.

To see your location history in your iPhone, go to Settings, then navigate to Privacy—>Location Services—>System Services—>Significant Locations. If you’ve enabled the right privacy settings, you’ll see the list of places you’ve been.

3. Figure out the total mileage you drove

When you claim your miles (and other business expenses), you’ll have to fill out Schedule C. This form also asks you for the total miles you drove for the entire year, including for personal reasons.

The best way to find your total miles, of course, is to look at your odometer reading at the beginning and the end of the year. But if you haven’t done that, you can also grab it from your car maintenance records.

Figuring out your total mileage is useful in one other way: it can help you validate all the work you did to reconstruct your lost miles. Check that against your total miles, and you’ll have a sense of whether your reconstructions make sense. (In any case, you'll know you made a mistake if your reconstructed work mileage ends up being higher than your total mileage!)

4. Maximize your other deductions

Mileage and car expenses aren’t the only write-offs you can take as a rideshare driver . Like other independent contractors, business owners, and self-employed people, you’re entitled to all kinds of tax deductions.

From floor mats to passenger goodies, from premium music subscriptions to a portion of your phone bill , these write-offs are not to be missed. You can even deduct some car-related expenses on top of your mileage, like car washes, parking fees, and tolls. (More on that later!)

If you’re worried about underreported miles, being diligent about these other write-offs can help you make sure you wind up with a reasonable tax bill.

How to track your mileage in the future

As you’ve learned, Uber tracks some of your tax-deductible miles, and you can use various strategies to reconstruct some of the rest.

Still, if you drive a lot, it’s a good idea to keep a mileage log as you go. That way, you can skip the tedious process of reverse-engineering your routes from a bunch of maps data.

You can keep a mileage log in your car, using it to jot down your odometer reading at the beginning and end of all your business trips. (You’ll also want to take a peek at it at the beginning and end of the year to get the total miles you drove.) Alternatively, you can use a mileage tracking app.

Writing off your miles

Most Uber and Lyft drivers want to know the miles they drove for work because they’re using the standard mileage deduction to write off their car expenses . With this method, you take all your business mileage for the year and multiply it by a standard mileage rate set by the IRS. (For 2023, that mileage rate is $0.655.)

There’s another option for taking car write-offs: the actual expenses method. This involves tracking what you actually spend on your car over the course of the year, things like gas , insurance, repairs, maintenance — even lease payments and vehicle depreciation. (Car washes, parking fees, tolls, and DMV fees can be deducted on top of the standard mileage rate, but these expenses replace your miles.) Then, you multiply your total spend by the percentage of time you drove for business purposes.

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) requires that you file income tax each year.

When you drive with Uber, income tax is not deducted from the earnings you made throughout the year. This means it’s your responsibility to pay your income tax at tax time.

You can find all of your tax information on your Driver dashboard .

Note that business licence exemption documents are not acceptable for this requirement.

Potential eligible business expenses or deductions

Here are some business costs you may be able to claim full or partial tax deductions for. A tax professional can review your unique tax situation and ensure that you’ve included the correct expenses.

Vehicle insurance, tolls or parking costs, cell phone expenses, freebies for customers, sales tax on the fees charged to you, your tax timeline.

Sales tax in Canada

As a rideshare driver, you’re responsible to collect, remit, and file your sales tax—HST in Ontario and Nova Scotia, GST in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and British Columbia—to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). If you're a rideshare driver in Quebec, Uber will collect and remit GST/QST sales tax on your behalf with Revenue Quebec, but you must still submit an annual filing.

Register for GST/HST

The Canada Revenue Agency requires every ridesharing driver to create a GST/HST account number, which must be shared with Uber within 30 days of a first trip.

It only takes a few minutes to register online, and you’ll have your GST/HST number instantly. Follow the step-by-step instructions to register. Make sure you update your tax profile within this time to avoid having your account temporarily put on hold.

Already have a GST/HST account number? Skip the registration step, and update your tax profile directly:

  • Go to drivers.uber.com
  • Go to the Invoice Settings section
  • Add your information in the field for GST/HST registration number
  • Click the checkbox under Disclaimer
  • Hit Save at the bottom of the page

Collect GST/HST

Each week, you’ll receive the GST/HST that was collected from your trips.

These amounts will be shown on your weekly earnings statement as well as your monthly and annual Tax Summary.

If you set that money aside, you’ll have it ready for the CRA when you file your GST/HST return.

Remit your GST/HST to the CRA

GST/HST can be remitted quarterly or annually to the CRA—choose which works best for you.

You can make your GST/HST payment electronically, by mail, or at your bank.

File your GST/HST return

You can file your GST/HST return online with CRA. To file it, you’ll need to know your net tax.

What you need to know.

Your Tax Summary is not an official tax document but helps you or your preferred tax professional prepare your tax return.

Your Tax Summary document includes:

  • Your total earnings (gross fares)
  • Sales tax you have collected on each trip
  • Sales tax paid on Uber fees
  • Potential business expenses (service fee, booking fee, mileage, etc.)

We’ll provide you with a monthly and annual Tax Summary. If you drive in Quebec, you will only receive an annual Tax Summary in February for the previous year.

Terms and definitions

Read below for terms and definitions of what can be found on your Tax Summary.

The gross fare equals the time and distance travelled plus the service fee.

The gross fare includes base fare (pickup, dropoff, time, and distance), trip supplement and promotions (boost, surge).

Tolls are charged to riders on your behalf. The amounts are paid to you by riders as reimbursement of tolls you paid out of pocket.

Tips are paid to you by riders.

  • The number of kilometres driven during your trips
  • Other mileage may also be deductible as a business expense (example: from request to pickup)

The service fee is the percentage-based fee for accessing the Uber platform.

  • Airport fees are charged to riders on your behalf for trips from (and often to) the airport.
  • Airport fees are paid to you by the rider. An equal amount is then charged to you by Uber (example: a rider is charged $4.25 by you to be picked up at Ottawa Airport; Uber then charges you $4.25).

The booking fee is charged to riders on your behalf and is paid to you by the rider. An equal amount is then charged to you by Uber as a fee.

This fee is charged to customers on your behalf when they split their fare using the Uber app.

  • The Quebec operation fee is charged to riders on your behalf and is paid to you by the rider
  • An equal amount is then charged to you by Uber as a fee
  • This definition only applies to drivers in the Quebec province
  • City fees are charged to riders on your behalf and are paid to you by the rider
  • This definition does not apply to drivers in Quebec
  • On each trip, GST/HST is charged to riders on your behalf. If you drive with Uber in Ontario or Alberta, this GST/HST is deposited in your bank account each week.
  • You'll need to keep track of these amounts because you’re required to remit part of it to the CRA.

How to read uber tax summary 2020 – explained.

Hello Uber drivers, like it or not, this is the tax time. I decided to write some blog posts to make a few things easier for you. This post is first of the information for the Uber drivers series.

The way information is presented on the Uber tax summary is a bit complicated. I don’t know why, but I am sure Uber has some reason for it. I am pretty sure every Uber driver has some kind of question or confusion around understanding the Uber tax summary (2020, 2019, or previous years).

Uber tax summary could be different for various countries, states/ provinces or jurisdictions. Most part of the information is quite similar, but there are important differences as well. Since we are based in GTA (Greater Toronto Area), we are going to explain a tax summary in easy words that GTA Uber drivers get (in general).

So let’s start. Before we go into detail, we should have a contextual background of the relationship between the driver and the Uber app (company or app/ platform). We will try to keep it limited to the financial transaction context. Let me simply put it; Uber assists drivers to make money by sharing their rides with random people.

The word ‘assists’ refers to all services the platform provides. In return, Uber gets a cut and (and/ or) fees. So, first Uber charges passengers on behalf of drivers. Then Uber takes its agreed share, fees, or charges, before paying it to the drivers. One more thing, any money collected from passengers is on behalf of the driver. I think that’s enough general background. Now let’s go to the detailed part.

You can find your tax summary under the tax documents in your Uber account.

Uber issues a report that carries different numbers and amounts in it. These are used for filing your annual tax returns (as self-employed or corporation).

In the image we have labelled each amount or figure that needs explanation. We will write the original explanation provided by Uber (available at: https://www.uber.com/ca/en/drive/tax-information/ ) and then elaborate that in simple words.

The gross fare equals the time and distance travelled plus the service fee. This amount represents the fare charged to the passenger by Uber on driver’s behalf. It is calculated on the basis of distance travelled and the time spent on trip. It also includes the service fees charged (as an agreed percentage). The distance charged to form this amount is discussed in point ‘m’ at the end.

b. Gross Uber Eats Fare

The gross fare equals the pickup fee, drop off fee, and distance travelled, plus the service fee.

For those drivers who also fulfil deliveries orders. This amount represents the fare charged to the customer by Uber on driver’s behalf. It is based on distance travelled, pickup fee and drop off fee. It also includes the service fees charged.

c. Split fare

This fee is charged to customers on your behalf when they split their fare using the Uber app.

Uber provides passengers the facility to split fare among themselves. The fee to do split fare is collected on behalf of the driver then taken back by Uber. This amount is quite common on tax summaries of Uber XL drivers; as a group of passengers use the same ride and split fare.

Tolls are charged to riders on your behalf. The amounts are paid to you by riders as reimbursement of tolls you paid out of pocket.

Some time you have to use the ETR 407 towards dropping off your passenger. The passenger pays you the toll, which is collected by Uber. This amount is given to you by Uber as part of the total trip earnings. I would suggest to always compare the toll received and actual toll paid (on ETR bill), the difference can be claimed from Uber.

e. Airport fee

Airport fees are charged to riders on your behalf for trips from (and often to) the airport.

Talking about GTA, Uber has an arrangement with the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) that allows Uber drivers to pick up (and drop off) passengers at Pearson airport (YYZ) ( since June 12, 2018 ). On behalf of the drivers, Uber charges the passengers an airport fee, included in the fare, and which is then charged back from driver by Uber.

f. Booking fee

The booking fee is charged to riders on your behalf and is paid to you by the rider. An equal amount is then charged to you by Uber as a fee.

When a rider requests a ride (in the app), Uber will find a ride and book the order – once accepted by the driver. There is a fixed amount charged by Uber for every request a driver accepts. So, again this amount is charged from passenger for the driver (added to fare) and then taken back by Uber (subtracted from fare). Note, this fee is different from Uber (service) fee.

Tips are paid to you by riders.

This is the amount of tips given by passengers to the drivers. Collected by Uber, added to the fare and paid to driver.

All (or some of) the amounts discussed above constitute a driver’s earnings. This total amount is just the sum of all accumulated amounts mentioned above. Please note, this is not your total earnings. I have seen a lot of drivers getting confused by this Total amount. I will discuss how to calculate your Uber earnings in another post.

i. HST on Uber rides

  • On each trip, GST/HST is charged to riders on your behalf. If you drive with Uber in Ontario or Alberta, this GST/HST is deposited in your bank account each week.
  • You’ll need to keep track of these amounts because you’re required to remit part of it to the CRA.
  • Depending on how you’ve chosen to file, you’ll need to remit monthly, quarterly, or annually.

You as Uber drivers are charging HST to passengers for the service. Again, Uber collects it, adds it to the earnings and pays it to the driver.  Therefore, it is mandatory for Uber drivers to register for HST as they must charge HST and remit to CRA. The explanation provided by Uber is quite self-explanatory. I will discuss Uber HST in detail in another post.

j. Referrals/ Incentives

Uber provides incentives to drivers to do certain things, like, completing an X number of trips in a certain time frame (Quest), encouraging other people to drive Uber as well. This amount is sum of all those incentives given to drivers by Uber. It is not a part of their fare related income.

k. Uber rides service fee

The service fee is the percentage-based fee for accessing the Uber platform.

This is the basic fee charged to drivers by Uber for using its facilities. It is based on a percentage. This fee is deducted from each fare as ‘Uber fee’. Note it is different from booking fee and its percentage may vary.

l. Uber Eats service fee

As the Uber rider service fee, this is the basic fees charged by Uber for using its platform.

m. On Trip Mileage

The number of Kilometres driven during your trips

This is the kilometers a driver drove the passengers after starting a trip up till completing (from pickup point to destination). So, this is the mileage you accumulated for driving passengers from point A to B and then charging for the same distance travelled. Note, this number does not reflect all your mileage for Uber or business.

As you can see the information provided on tax summary document is very important. It gets further confusing on how to calculate Uber earning for the year. I will write a post on that very soon. One more thing, we have discussed only Uber’s tax summary. Quarterly tax summary reports by Lyft are somewhat similar but also provide different information at the same time. Always a good idea to consult your accountant for tax related details. He (or she) might save you some money and trouble in return for few bucks.

This amount needs to be added to your income. You did not collect any HST on this one. Its not included in Gross.

Thanks for reaching out. Your gross income is: 26.4k Other income is: 3.7k + 2.1k Total income will be: 26.4+3.7+2.1 Service fee: 9.2k (is an expense) deducted from total income. Don’t use net off income. I hope that helps.

THE WAY THE TAX SUMMARY I SHEETS UBER AND LYFT PREPARED IS SO AWKWARD THAT THERE IS NO WAY TO FIGURE OUT GETTING A CLEAR PICTURE OF NET EARNING. IT SEEMS THAT IN SOMEWAY THEY DO HIDE SOME OF THE TAXES AND PUT ON THE DRIVERS SHOULDERS. TO ME, THE TOTAL OF THE FIGURES PAID TO MY BANK ACCOUNT INCLUDES, MY NET EARNING, AND THE HST (BASED ON MY NET EARNING), TIPS AND TOLLS (HST SHOULD BE ADDED). IS THIS NOT A THE SIMPLEST WAY

You are quite right. You have to watch out the income to show on T2125 and HST return. That sometimes become tricky.

Yes you have to report the gross amounts and then deduct expenses, which includes Uber’s fees and charges to driver. Yes you will deduct all fees as expense from Gross amount.

My total income will be $1,219.30+ $11+$29. Can you please advise me when I report my income to the CRA, it would be $1,219.30+ $11+$29 or $1,219.30/1.13+ $11+$29?

It’s confused me as from the Summary, HST amount is $209.31 = ($1,219.30+$1.2+$14.5+$375)*13%. That means my gross fare is HST excluded. Am I right?

Gross amount: (Gross up from the HST amount): $1,219.30+$1.2+$14.5+$375+209.31. This is your gross income including HST. then you will deduct HST. and other expenses. 11 nd 29 are other income without Hst.

What about Lyft tax summary breakdown. Your compilation excel has no lyft summary page to collect weekly earnings.What is the formula of GROSS income and SERVICE FEE TOTALS.

Are the pass thru tax fees legal on automated processes like charging drivers tax on the 25% .This means we are being taxed by both the government and Uber on the same dollar value. Since the gst on the overall ride is paid for by the customer, why do drivers then have to pay more tax on Uber fees. Since we have no way of charging these increase back to customers.

SO the tax they call pass thru tax has already been taxed on by app itself.

This is nothing more than an elaborate way to steal drivers tips thru fake taxation.

Please explain how this is legal?

I am confused about my tax summary & how they come up with my gross earnings. It is so much more than what I earned or brought home (considering the taxes weren’t taken out). I assumed that since my taxes weren’t being taken out & that tips were included, that my take-home was my gross income. Last year I brought home 48,827. But Uber is referring to that number as my “net payout”. My tax summary says that my gross trip earnings were 72,989. And that my total additional earnings were 10,306. Bringing my gross earnings to 83,295. But I only took home the 48,827 pre-taxed? If my taxes weren’t taken out, and the 48,827 included incentives & tips, then where did the additional 34,468 income come from? Cause I never received it. And therefore it doesn’t seem right for me to have to pay taxes on so much money. What am I missing?
