Captain Larry’s tour is a must

I’d heard about this tour from a friend who’d been to Barbados previously. It was a brilliant day out. A whole tour of the island to see the sights including snorkelling with the turtles and feeding the monkeys. David our guide was kind, knowledgable and a fantastic host, nothing was too much trouble. It’s worth every penny and a must do when you visit Barbados.

Our private tour guide was very informative but didn’t show up until after the snorkling. We had to jump into another vehicle with another couple until our driver arrived. Snorkling was amazing! Tour of the island was jammed packed and Mc D (Jason) was excellent! The vehicle was a Toyota truck which was good on the back roads but was difficult to see out the windows. This is worth the money to see the entire island but prepare for a long day!!

Don't worry about finding Captain Larry, especially if you are at Sandals in Barbados, he will certainly find you. It will be worth your time pulling the Captain aside and asking about his tours, and then do yourself a favor and book it. Tour starts at around 9:30 and we returned back to the resort around 5:30. We saw everything we were hoping for: turtles while snorkling in the bay, monkeys, ridiculous views, and my favortite part of the week, lunch and Fishermans Pub. This was the most authentic Bajan food I was able to have and it didn't dissapoint. Our guide CAT was a great person and it was nice getting to know him and his knowledge/passion for the island. The best part if receiving the email afterwards with Captain Larry's signature theme song. It's been in my head since.

We had a great day with Omar (aka the “OG”)!! From the fun beginning welcome to feeding the monkeys 🥰🥰 to lunch at a hideaway on the beach to the “million dollar” view and the “billion dollar” view we had the most amazing day with Omar!! We got to see everything we wanted and had lots of laughs along the way!! So glad we found Captain Larry on the beach ! I wish we could give it 10 stars ⭐️ instead of just 5.

Booked the Captain Larry tour in Barbados while on the beach at Sandals Barbados. It was amazing! From feeding the monkeys, snorkeling, an amazing lunch and touring the island, we felt like we really got a taste of Barbados. Our driver OG was the best. We highly recommend the Captain Larry tour.

This was an amazing tour! Our driver Gregory showed us the entire island and talked about the Island's history as well as stopping at several historical sites. Highly recommend this tour!

This tour agency began over 29 years ago by Mr. Aleric Worrell well known as (Captain Larry) who loves his country Barbados. His aim for every guests is to have a memorable experience in Barbados on their trip by show casing the authentic beauty and culture of Barbados. By providing an excellent and consistent service, he expanded his dream team with tour guides who are just as passionate and dedicated about their job and Barbados. Offering Island Tours, Air Port Transfers, and Taxis Services.

Cancellation Policy

Worrell island tours is a fully ecommerce site which accepts the following: Visa Credit, MasterCard, Visa Debit, and Debit MasterCard and cash in local, USD or Pound Sterling currency only and Pay Pal transfers.

Payment is required at the time of booking.

Full payment must be made no later than 1 day prior to the commencement of each tour. Payments not received as scheduled to Worrell Island Tours in the above- mentioned methods, may result in your booking being automatically cancelled, and any deposit payments becoming forfeit .

In case of cancellation, you will be notified via email of the successful cancellation and its related fees. NON-refundable service to be added (credits valid until rescheduled date)

No refunds  are given after a tour has commenced .

No refunds  are given in case of either  delay or non-appearance on the part of the customer . This includes tardiness or non-appearance because of transportation delays or illness/injury on the part of the customer.

Worrell Island Tours does not guarantee refunds  in cases of unforeseeable events, such as  closures of sights due to demonstrations, strikes, bad weather conditions or renovations .

In case of the closure of sights , Worrell Island Tours will, if possible, contact you to offer a substitute itinerary or reschedule your booking to a different tour option. You may request to change the date of your tour up to 48 hours prior to tour commencement. This change will however be accepted  subject to availability .

How long is the tour (if you don't add on the snorkeling)? Is it a private tour or are you with a group. What stops do you make on the tour? Are you able to customize the stops? Did you book in advance or after you got to Barbados?

From what I have heard , and I stand to be corrected , Captain Larry seems to target Sandals guests while on the beach , offering much better trips and deals than the hotel itself . He seems to get good mentions but as we have very few Sandals guests on this forum , you may do better to have a look at their Facebook.

If you ask around , you will find that most taxi drivers are knowledgable enough to take you on a personalised tour so that’s another avenue to explore if you ask for estimates .

Thanks! I actually did as on the Sandals Facebook page, but my post was denied. I guess you're not allowed to ask about non-Sandals tour operators on that page. :-(

If you have any recommendations for particular drivers, I would welcome the information. Are there drivers who are specifically certified to be guides?

I’m trying to find captain Larry. It’s 2;35 pm and they said he’s gone for the day. Does anyone know how to get a hold of him? They said try beach at 8 am😳 Thanks in advance!

His journey started over 25 years ago, the famous Captain Larry also known as Mr. Aleric Worrell, is a fun, loving, kind-hearted and people friendly individual who loves his country Barbados. As a younger man, Captain Larry always possessed a passion for the Tourism Industry. He started off as a tour guide and taxi driver and he continued on this journey as his knowledge and skills grew vastly, taking guests around his island. He later discovered he had a talent for obtaining sales, he therefore used this talent as the key steppingstone which led to great success.

As the years went by he grew comfortable in this field and gained expertise and knowledge. He expanded his dream team with tour guides who are just as passionate and dedicated about their job and Barbados. His aim for every guest is to have a memorable experience in Barbados on their tour by showcasing the authentic beauty and culture of Barbados. This is only achieved by providing consistently excellent service!

AMIL’S STORY

Amil is the lead tour guide and manager for Captain Larry’s EBikes. As a fourth generation Barbadian, his passion for the tourism industry comes as no surprise. He considers himself a “local local”. Having spent 9 years in the hospitality industry, Amil knows the island like the back of his hand and knows how to bring Barbadian culture to life. If you’re looking for the good trails and best views, he can point you in the right direction. His favorite spot is the island’s east coast and his favorite thing about it was the warm, welcoming people.
