9. Ditumabo Mother Falls [SEE MAP]

Ditumabo Mother Falls

Majestic to behold, Ditumabo Falls gushes forth from up high. The dazzling white of its waters contrasts stunningly against the lush green of the rainforest that lies to either side of it. The impressive waterfall is also known as Mother Falls since it is the largest and grandest in the area.

While the waterfall only reaches about 15 meters in height, its scenic setting makes it a very picturesque place to spend some time, although it can get crowded during the weekends. After hiking for an hour through the jungle to reach the falls, nothing beats bathing in the clear pool that lies at its foot and basking in the fantastic scenery all around you.

8. Minalungao National Park [SEE MAP]

Minalungao National Park

Established in 1967 to protect and preserve the scenic Penaranda River and its surroundings, Minalungao National Park is home to some of the most beautiful and pristine nature in Central Luzon.

As it is promoted as an ecotourism destination by the local government, it should come as no surprise to learn that the national park has a wealth of fantastic outdoor activities for you to enjoy, with hiking, rock climbing, and ziplining all on offer.

In addition to this, you can also go swimming or kayaking on the river – or even rafting and cliff diving if you feel brave enough. While its range of outdoor activities will certainly keep you entertained for days, the scenery on show is just as arresting; the emerald waters of the river are beautifully framed by glimmering limestone formations looming above it.

7. Magalawa Island [SEE MAP]

Magalawa Island

Lying just off the west coast of Central Luzon and surrounded by the glittering waters of the China Sea, Magalawa Island is a fantastic place to head to if you’re looking for a quiet getaway.

With beautiful white sand beaches lining its shores and gently swaying palm trees wherever you look, Magalawa certainly paints a pretty picture. There’s nothing better than lounging on the beach all day while taking in the stunning scenery.

As it is still quite undeveloped, the island habitat is very untouched. As such, it is ideal for nature lovers, while outdoor enthusiasts will also rejoice at the amazing rafting and snorkeling on offer. In addition to this, taking a scenic boat trip around the island and surrounding waters is simply a must. This is particularly magical at sunset when the waves shimmer and sparkle before your eyes.

6. Monasterio de Tarlac [SEE MAP]

Monasterio de Tarlac

Located atop the appropriately named Mount Resurrection, this incredible monastery is a very popular destination with both locals and tourists alike. Its majestic Jesus Christ statue is the undoubted highlight of what’s on show.

Towering to a height of 30 feet, Christ’s outstretched arms welcome visitors to the Monasterio de Tarlac. From the peaceful gardens surrounding the church, you have some lovely views out over the picturesque Zambales Mountain Range.

While its scenic setting and splendid statue are what many people come for, the interior of the monastery houses a very important relic which is believed to be a remnant of the cross upon which Christ was crucified.

Although the fragment of the True Cross is not all that much to look at, lots of pilgrims come here and venerate the holy site. The monastery’s peaceful mountaintop setting certainly makes it the perfect place for some quiet reflection.

5. Dingalan [SEE MAP]

Dingalan

Lying alongside a delightful bay of the same name, Dingalan is a breathtakingly beautiful part of Central Luzon to visit. The municipality is awash with stunning scenery and landscapes for you to explore. While its wild and rugged coastline is exhilarating to surf or swim along, its interior is equally enchanting. Among its towering mountains, you can find cavernous caves, gushing rivers, and sparkling waterfalls.

As such, it really is an outdoor lover’s dream, and there are loads of lovely beaches to kick back and relax on if you simply want to bask in the magnificent scenery. While there isn’t all that much for you to do in town, its delightful setting amongst the Sierra Madre Mountains and the abundance of nature nearby means that you’ll never get bored.

4. Corregidor Island [SEE MAP]

Corregidor Island

With lots of interesting historical sights to explore and a wealth of excellent woodland paths and coastal trails for you to hike or cycle along, Corregidor Island is well worth visiting when in Central Luzon.

Due to its strategic location at the entrance to Manila Bay, Corregidor has long been fortified. Many people now visit to see Fort Mills and the various anti-aircraft artillery batteries that were erected to protect the Philippines’s capital during the Second World War.

While the crumbling fortifications, memorials, and WWII sights are what make Corregidor Island one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country, its spectacular scenery is also well worth checking out.

3. Pilar [SEE MAP]

Pilar

Although there is not all that much to see or do in the town of Pilar, there are some interesting historic sights to discover. The municipality itself lies not far away from Bataan National Park and Mount Mariveles, both of which boast some astounding natural wonders.

The main attraction in Pilar is the Mount Samat National Shrine, which was built to honor and remember the brave Filipino and American soldiers who fought in the Second World War. The enormous cross certainly does look impressive.

Besides that, the Flaming Sword shrine and Our Lady of the Pilar Parish Church are the main noteworthy sites to see in town, while the small fishing villages and ports along the coast are also well worth a visit; they are very picturesque with a laidback feel.

2. Mount Pinatubo [SEE MAP]

Mount Pinatubo

Simply awe-inspiring to look at, Mount Pinatubo is a must-visit when in Central Luzon. While the majestic mountains and volcanoes that dot the landscape are breathtakingly beautiful, it is the glimmering crater lake that lies at their heart that is the undoubted star of the show.

Hemmed in by towering peaks, the turquoise waters shimmer and gleam beneath the midday sun, and the color of the lake remarkably changes throughout the year, depending on the season.

Formed over millennia, the volcanic region makes for some beautiful hiking. Lots of mountaineers come to Mount Pinatubo to climb its various peaks. One of the most spectacular natural sights in the Philippines, Mount Pinatubo will set your heart racing.

1. Baler [SEE MAP]

#1 of Central Luzon Philippines

Lined by beautiful palm trees and overlooked by majestic mountains off in the distance, the small town of Baler is a very laidback place to visit, and the scenery on show is drop-dead gorgeous.

Famed for its white sand beach and surfing spots that appeared in the iconic film Apocalypse Now, Baler truly is blessed when it comes to its scenic setting. If you’re up for some exploring, the surrounding area has some wonderful beaches and waterfalls.

Despite being founded all the way back in 1609, there aren’t any historical or cultural attractions of note in the town. Most people simply come to kick back and relax on the beach or take to the waves and surf all day in the sun; it’s the perfect destination for sun-worshippers and beach lovers.

Central Luzon is an all-round destination, with great diving, hiking, birdwatching, and surfing. It has a variety of landscapes to explore, beaches to relax on, and urbanized cities to wander around. Day trips from Manila are the most practical, but several days exploring the volcanic calderas and landscapes or relaxing on nearby beaches can also be worthwhile.

It is extremely easy to get to Central Luzon from other regions thanks to the island’s great highway network. Clark International Airport compliments Manila’s national hub, and more preferably for accessing Northern Luzon. It’s 90 minutes away from Manila by car.

The weather is best from November to April when the region is at its driest, with the rest of the year being wet and prone to typhoons late in the year. The temperature drops considerably in elevated areas towards the North. July and August are the wettest months, while May is the hottest month of the year.

Man standing on top of rice terraces

The landlocked portion of Central Luzon is where the majority of the natural sites are located and it thrives on eco-tourism. One of the most popular attraction in the region is the majestic Mount Arayat , a 1,026 meters high strato-volcano in the center of Luzon. There are two trails that lead to the peak of the mountain, with each taking between three and four hours to hike. It is known to be a mystical mountain that is home to the fairy Maria Sinukuan who apparently lives at the White rock, or lava dome.

At the summit of Mount Pinatubo, just to the east of Mount Arayat, is the stunning Lake Pinatubo . This breathtaking crater lake is accessible by taking a 4WD for just over one hour and then hiking up the mountain for 45-minutes. Its most recent significant eruption was in 1992, altering the landscape and coating the entire area in ashen dust. Presently it is dormant.

Easier to access is the Laguna Caldera , just southeast of Manila. The beautiful lake’s surface is just one meters above sea level and sits between Mount Sembrano and Talim Island. Some of the towns on the shoreline enjoy pretty vistas, with sea breezes, and its worth spending a night or day relaxing among the locals with the sense that you are ‘beside the sea’.

Taal Lake is also extremely impressive, which was formed between 500,000 and 100,000 years ago as a result of numerous large eruptions. What’s interesting about the lake is that in the center of it lies Volcano Island, and atop that is a magnificent crater lake. There are regular tours to the lake, with the top of Volcano Island being accessible by horseback.

The protected Aurora Memorial National Park covers an area of 5,676 hectares along the east coast of Central Luzon. It is popular for eco-tourism, with its lush forest and rich habitat that includes vultures, lizards, snakes, amphibians, and the endangered Philippine Eagle.

There are numerous historical and religious sites throughout Central Luzon, with the largest concentration being in the San Fernando Heritage District . Angeles City also has some fine examples of historical sites, like Fort Stotsenburg , Salakot Arch , and Holy Rosary Church (Santo Rosario Church).

Subic Bay has the best organized infrastructure for diving . Not only does it have a busy resort and nice beach area adjacent to the Freeport, but also boasts an impressive number of sunken wrecks in the bay, both Japanese and American war ships from WWII. There’s also a number of colourful reefs along this stretch of coast, serviced by several dive shops.

The Nueva Ecija province is known for its eco-friendly farm tours and other special tours, like those to the Gross Ostrich Farm , as it the agricultural center of the province. It is also home to the country’s main agricultural research centers, which can also be visited.

Bird lovers should head to Candaba in Pampanga, a place that is known for its birdwatching tours . The area is a haven for migratory birds, with the best time to spot these birds being from October to April. Other rare birds found here include the Shrenck’s Bittern, Gadwall, and Great Bittern.

Shopaholics will not be bored in Central Luzon, as there are plenty of places to go shopping throughout the region. Tarlac City is home to around 10 big shopping malls, including the huge SM City Tarlac. Of course, Manila has, perhaps, the largest collection of malls in Southeast Asia, including the Mall of Asia, reputedly the world’s largest by floorspace.

Paco Park Manila with people

One of the most popular is the annual Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta near Clark Airbase. The festival is held every year between January and February and it is the country’s biggest aviation sports event. Over 100 air-balloon pilots from around the world ride their colorful balloons in the sky. The event also features skydiving, choreographed kite-flying, freestyle acrobatics, and kite making.

San Jose City in Nueva Ecija hosts the Tanduyong Festival each year to give thanks to their crops; mainly onions, garlic, and rice. It is the most colorful festival in the province, where people dance in the streets in native costumes and music fills the air.

Also in April is the seven-day Paynauen Duyan Festival that features traditional local arts and crafts. It is a popular festival for tourists, what with its sandcastle competition, singing contest, kite flying competition, and cooking contest. The festival takes place in Iba, Zambales.

December’s annual Giant Lantern Festival is one of the region’s most popular, taking place on the Saturday before Christmas in the City of San Fernando. It features a huge giant lantern competition, with some lanterns costing around $11,000 to construct.

Manila, or more correctly, Metro Manila is the National Capital Region (NCR) of the Philippines. Unlike other regions of the country, this region is not subdivided into provinces, but rather composed of 16 cities and one municipality. With more than 11 million residents, Metro Manila is one of the most densely populated urban areas in the world. Metro Manila is not to be confused with the City of Manila, the original settlement that is now just one of the cities, which make up NCR.

Metro Manila is the hub of finance, commerce, education, culture, and transport in a country of more than 7,000 islands. Many visitors who arrive here may find the chaos and the crush of people a bit overwhelming, but these are precisely what constitute the charm of the city.

Ninoy Aquino International Airport is the main entry point for those arriving in the Philippines. With four terminals, the airport has connections throughout the globe from regional hubs such as Hong Kong and Singapore to global hubs such as Dubai and Doha and even Sydney, Los Angeles, Vancouver, and London. To get around the city, visitors can take cabs, city buses, jeepneys (the gaudy, colorful, and very local minibus), or the metro with two north-south lines and one east-west line.

A visit during the months of January to March is a good idea. Weather is relatively pleasant with temperatures on the side of bearable. December is a good time to visit, too, if only to witness Christmas festivities. However, traffic gets a little chaotic during this time of the year. While April and May weather is also pleasant, the temperatures in the city can soar to the low 100s (Fahrenheit) made worse by the high humidity.

What to See

There was already a settlement in what was to become Manila even before the Spaniards came. Sadly, there are no more remnants of this pre-colonial era to speak of. The walled district of Intramuros is the colonial settlement founded by the Spanish in 1571. Though much of Intramuros was leveled by Japanese and American bombs during World War II, parts of it such as the perimeter wall and the old garrison of Fort Santiago remained intact.

While in Intramuros, visitors should also see the Manila Cathedral and the San Agustin Church . Both are national treasures with the latter a UNESCO World Heritage Site as well. To see the entire historic district, visitors can go on a very novel activity: a biking tour using locally produced bamboo bikes.

Across the river from Intramuros is one of the oldest Chinatowns in the world: Binondo . The area was also heavily bombed during the war, so very few old buildings remain. Despite this, it is still an area of interest for shopping and authentic Chinese food. Worth seeing here is Binondo Church , the place of worship for the Christianized Chinese of the area.

Close to Binondo is Rizal Park . The area is dedicated to the national hero Jose Rizal, who through his writings opposed the Spanish occupation helping to ignite the revolution. The area is a local favorite with its green patches, gardens, monuments, and fountains. Not far from this park is the historic Manila Hotel , which is worth a visit.

Those looking to escape the chaos and noise of downtown Manila can take the metro towards the campus of the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City. The campus has wide-tree-lined avenues, vast green areas, quiet benches, and nice cafes.

Being the largest city in the Philippines, Metro Manila offers a lot of activities for visitors. Foodies staying in downtown Manila can do a food tour of Manila’s Chinatown Binondo. Here, visitors will not only taste authentic Chinese food such as dumplings, noodles, and spring rolls but also fusion dishes such as the sweet chocolate rice porridge called champorado .

A lot of eating can also be done in the various foodie districts of Metro Manila. In Pasig City, visitors can head to the Kapitolyo area for steaks, authentic Japanese ramen, barbecue, and ice cream. In Quezon City, visitors can go to Maginhawa, a long, wide, and otherwise residential street lined with various restaurants and cafes serving Filipino, Japanese, Indonesian, Persian, and American food.

For many tourists, one highlight is the shopping . Many malls and commercial areas offer cheap goods from clothing to houseware. While bargaining in the malls of Makati is not possible, in the shopping areas of Greenhills or Divisoria, bargaining is the norm.

The nightlife in Metro Manila is also something worth experiencing. The best bars of the city can be found in Eastwood and Timog, both located in Quezon City. In Makati, visitors can head to Makati Avenue. In the City of Manila, there is Malate, also considered the capital’s red light district.

Those looking to give back can get in touch with the Gawad Kalinga charity organization. One highly recommended activity is a day trip to the Gawad Kalinga Enchanted Farm located just north of Metro Manila in the province of Bulacan. The farm is a grassroots initiative of the organization to educate local farmers about the different aspects of agriculture and entrepreneurship.

Local Culture

Although an administrative region by itself, Metro Manila is located in the Southern Tagalog region. Thus, the language spoken in Metro Manila is Tagalog. However, being a highly commercialized city with a very strong American colonial legacy, English is widely spoken. It is used everywhere from street signs and business establishments to media, commerce, and education. Chinese, specifically Southern Chinese languages Hokkien and Cantonese, are spoken by the Chinese of Binondo as a first or second language.

A great time to visit Metro Manila is during the months of January and February if only to witness two large festivals taking place this time of the year. The Chinese New Year is a big celebration in Binondo featuring dragon and lion dancers, fresh fruits for sale (for good luck), and a lot of fireworks.

Another spectacle to behold is the Feast of the Black Nazarene, which takes place every ninth of January in the very busy area of Quiapo in the City of Manila. The statue of a dark-skinned Jesus Christ carrying the cross is paraded through the streets amidst an ocean of the most faithful devotees seeking to pray to the religious icon.

  • E1440RPolivial 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Reliable and Trustworthy Gerry is a self-described red pill. He is also reliable and trustworthy. We absolutely saw so much more in the few days we were on Luzon than we would have otherwise. It was amazing to have reliable transportation the whole time we were there. He adjusted the itinerary to fit my wants to visit Buscalan and for when I got my appointment. He even surprised me with a birthday cake on my birthday, so thoughtful! His driving can be scary, but he's happy to slow down if that's your preference, but you won't get there as fast! Read more Written February 22, 2024
  • felixmca 0 contributions 3.0 of 5 bubbles Car rental at Clark airport It was a rather confusing experience. No one at the counter at the airport. We called the reservation number and they sent a car to pick us up. They drove us to a local mini shopping center. Took us to a small bare office inside the shopping center. I did not get the car i wanted and was forced to take the insurance (even though i am covered anywere in the world). The vehicle was ok and turned out to be reliable. Return was also ok and they reimbursed the deposit. Read more Written February 8, 2024
  • Chng12345678 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles terrible place to go - Clark Please take only blue taxi and "tuk tuk" it is not only the taxi is difficult to book in Clark the more serious thing is GRAB scam here. We only took 2 grab rides and 2 drivers both tried to scam us. The 1st driver which picked us at the airport already reached the hotel main gate which is 100 metres to the hotel main entrance and deceived us saying that our pin location is incorrect and try to fake us to choose another location which is the same place but the pin for the restaurant of the same hotel at the same location This earns him 100 peso more. 2nd driver did the same but even worse bringing to another place by using Google map to trick us. I showed him in the app we book correctly and he has not reached the destination and he got frustrated and unwilling bring us to. the main gate of the hotel and refused to move though it is clear he has not reached the destination and tried to continue to act and lie. He spit at my husband pushed him and scold vulgarity. The security of the hotel did not stop him and allow him to continue following both of us while we walking to the hotel after alighting at the main gate. It is a very scary and uncalled for experience. Never will I step on Clark or Manila again the people in Clark in service line are not as sincere as I thought. They just try to avoid trouble and have no true sincerity in customer services. It is a very bad experience Read more Written April 30, 2023

15 eco-adventure sites in Central Luzon of the Philippines

Contributors are not employed, compensated or governed by TD, opinions and statements are from the contributor directly

In light of the current COVID-19 situation, the recommendations and activities mentioned in this article are for the purpose of possible future holidays. Please always refer to local government health advisories for travel.

While the Philippines is known for the pristine beaches of Boracay and rock formations in Siargao and Palawan, eco-adventure sites in Central Luzon are becoming increasingly popular among travellers.  Domestic travellers to Central Luzon will need to present their vaccination card and a negative RT-PCR or Antigen test result.

Central Luzon is a region in the Philippines comprising seven provinces located north of the capital. The region contains the largest plains in the country and produces most of the nation’s rice supply.

Incorporating physical activity while on vacation is a growing travel trend and the land-locked region capitalises on its plains and mountains to offer adrenaline-filled holidays .  Here are some of the eco-adventure sites in Central Luzon for the brave and the bold:

central luzon tour

Thanks to its proximity to Metro Manila, travellers flock to Bulacan for its scenic mountain trails, long and winding rivers, and breathtaking waterfalls perfect for adrenaline junkies and nature lovers.

Point-to-point travel is allowed without age restrictions subject to an RT-PCR test for people from 18-65 years old while strict adherence to minimum public health standards is imposed.

Mt. Maranat

Trek Mt. Oriod from top to bottom. Yes, instead of climbing to reach the summit, tourists will descend to reach the campsite and Mt. Maranat, which is actually the name of a waterfall at the foot of the mountain – which is only one of the several waterfalls in the province. During the descent, tourists will come across green forests, streams and rocky terrain, but the majestic view of the falls at the end will make it all worthwhile.

San Rafael River Adventure

central luzon tour

Want to get away from the city and relax for a few days? The San Rafael River Adventure is a resort that combines adventure and relaxation. Guests can ride a jetski and paddle boat, and even drive an ATV in the resort complex during the day, then relax on nature-themed accommodations at night.

Biak na Bato National Park

Biak na Bato is the birthplace of the Philippines’ first republic making it a popular spot for history buffs.  However, the hundreds of caves beckon adventurers, especially the Aguinaldo Cave, which is Emilio Aguinaldo’s base of operations; and Bahay Paniki, which is home to six unique bat breeds.

central luzon tour

While dubbed as the culinary capital of the Philippines, Pampanga boasts more than signature buro, bringhe and sisig. Staying active is not a problem in this province filled with eco-adventure sites and locations.

Domestic travellers are welcome in Pampanga. Leisure travel shall be allowed subject to strict health and safety compliance.

central luzon tour

Tire yourself out in various thrilling activities in Sandbox’s adventure zones such as the Giant Swing, the Aerial Walk Challenge, the Avatar One, and the Adventure Tower, which includes the wall-climbing zone. This outdoor adventure park is geared for adults and kids alike, which makes it perfect for the whole family.

Mt. Arayat National Park

central luzon tour

Mt. Arayat is Pampanga’s sole mountain towering over the province’s plains. The extinct volcano lies inside one of the country’s oldest national parks and has easy trails perfect for beginners and intermediate climbers.

Mt. Pinatubo

central luzon tour

Situated between Pampanga, Zambales, and Tarlac provinces, the active volcano was responsible for burying several towns when it erupted in 1991. Now, it is a popular destination for adventure seekers. Ride a 4X4 over lahar formations until you reach the oasis of its crater lake that changes colour depending on the season.

central luzon tour

People often pass by Tarlac on their way to locations further north like Baguio and Ilocos. Unbeknownst to many, Tarlac offers eco-adventure sites and holidays.

Tarlac is open to domestic travellers with negative RT-PCR or saliva test results taken within 72 hours before travel. Tourists must follow existing health protocol guidelines from IATF as well.

Capas National Shrine

Commemorating the Filipino and American soldiers who fought the Japanese during World War II, a 70-metre monolith lists the fallen soldiers. The park is a popular spot for a bike, run or picnic.

Monasterio de Tarlac

central luzon tour

Monasterio de Tarlac is a favourite pilgrimage destination in Tarlac for the devout Catholics. The site is 300 metres above sea level, boasting a towering statue of Jesus Christ overlooking the cliff and reminiscent of Rio de Janeiro’s Christ the Redeemer statue. The road to the monastery is a popular trail for cycling enthusiasts.

Tarlac Recreational Park

If you are into mountain biking, swimming, zip line, rappelling and other extreme adventures, head to Tarlac Recreational Park where several of the country’s sports meets were held. It covers more than 78 hectares and is an ideal site for different activities.

Nueva Ecija

Eat, play, and rest! Nueva Ecija covers all these areas and gives travellers farm-to-table experiences, utmost relaxation, and unforgettable adventures.

Nueva Ecija is open to domestic travellers but they need to coordinate and follow the requirements set by the LGU.

central luzon tour

Maangol Trail is a 7.9-mile bike trail located near San Jose, Nueva Ecija, which is mainly for mountain biking. However, the province is also a perfect destination for cycling enthusiasts. The land-locked province boasts plenty of paved roads and the Sierra Madre mountain range looms over the vast rice field.

Minalungao National Park

central luzon tour

When you say eco-adventure tour in Central Luzon, specifically in Nueva Ecija, Minalungao National Park is the perfect destination for swimming, fishing, raft riding and cliff diving. The national park runs along the scenic Peñaranda River bordered on both sides by up to 16-meter high limestone walls in the foothills of the Sierra Madre mountain range.

central luzon tour

Baler is a famous surfing spot that drives surfers all across the world to its shores. However, the town offers more than rolling waves, its rich forest and natural attractions allow tourists to experience exhilarating adventures like trekking and cave spelunking.

Dinadiawan Beach

central luzon tour

After being declared as Marine protected Area, Dinadiawan Beach is often visited by divers and snorkelers to witness various marine life species.

Mother Falls

central luzon tour

Trek the beautiful forest of Aurora until you reach the famous Ditumabo Falls or Mother Falls of San Luis. Along the trek, adventurers will come across rivers and natural pools where tourists can take a refreshing dip.

At the time this was written (17 December 2021), domestic travellers are allowed to travel to Central Luzon (Region III). Visitors are advised to check respective LGUs travel requirements.

Philippines One Life Adventures - 10 Days

The tour was a wonderful experience and our tour guide Lini made the whole journey very memorable. It included plenty of inclusions including activities every day, meals, transport, a massage and other exciting experiences. The tour was excellent value for money. It is a relatively packed schedule and included lots of island hopping and seeing some beautiful places and swim spots but also included a good mix of cultural and local activities to immerse yourself in the local culture. The accommodation was a mix of hostels and smaller accommodation, these were pretty basic at times so just something to consider, you won’t be in luxury accommodation. All of the accommodation locations were great and close to beaches and local towns. Our tour guide Lini made the experience for us, she was excellent at her job and really went out of her way each day to make sure everyone was looked after including those with dietaries which was sometimes challenging. Lini was always kind and caring and provided lots of laughs and good vibes. I would recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore the Philippines and its beautiful islands!

Almost excellent except for the quality of the hotel at el Nido, it was a 1 star hostel. The people of the tours were very nice and kind. The food pf the tours was very good for the seafood lovers. The transport from Puerto Princesa to el Nido was uncomfortable and long; but it is the only way to reach there. Marice was excellent answering all our questions via WhatsApp

10 Days Do The Philippines Adventure Tour - Palawan Islands

This was an amazing 10 day tour of the Palawan islands in the Philippines. Starting at Puerto Prinsesa we journeyed up north through El Nido to Coron. Visiting must see locations with breathtaking views, it truly is an experience of a lifetime. The food was amazing and greatly exceeded all expectations, and our tour guide Jovian was excellent. He was so friendly and lively, doing his best to accommodate everyone, and make sure everything runs smoothly. He was very supportive of me and went above and beyond when I had an unfortunate injury at one of the beaches we went to. Overall the trip wouldn’t have been the same without him, he was one of the many highlights on this tour.

Palawan Getaway 5D/4N Tour

Palawan Getaway 5D/4N

This was a great itinerary! My only regret is that it wasn't longer - Palawan is beautiful and I didn't want to leave. El Nido was gorgeous and in my opinion better than Puerto Princesa. The hostel in El Nido (Our Melting Pot) was great - super social and full of young backpackers. It was also on the main strip, so there were loads of restaurants and bars, and it was about 5 min walk away from the beach. The tour there is just fab and the lagoons are beautiful. Lunch was included (there was a grill on the back of the boat, so we just anchored up in a quiet stretch of water and ate there). In Puerto I did the underground river tour which was amazing and I've never seen anything quite like it. The tour ended a little early and we were given the option to do a zipline from one island to another - so much fun and definitely recommended if you have the chance! The hotel in Puerto was a B&B and was very homely and friendly, however it was a little further away from the centre of town so there were not as many things to do within walking distance. Be aware that this tour is very self-directed and a lot of the time you have to get yourself from Point A to Point B - i.e. you are not ferried around in a group. The tours and transfers are public tours so you're in a group which changes every day, and not in a consistent tour group (which was totally fine for me, but just to be aware of). The transfers between Puerto and El Nido took around 5-6 hours in a van, the roads are very windy and bumpy so it wasn't the most comfortable - but there is a stop half way, and the views along the coastal road were really great. Overall - a great intro to Palawan with some amazing sights.

What people love about Luzon Island Tours

Loved this tour! Was the perfect mix of activities and group time and relaxation / solo time. The 2 day island hopping with overnight stay on the remote island is one of the best experiences I’ve ever had! Our tour guide cece was amazing too and made it really fun and involved everyone. Best snorkelling I’ve ever done too! Definitely recommending to friends and will be booking another one life tour in the future
AJ our tour guide was amazing
We had a wonderful 2wks with Lini. The itinerary was well planned with plenty of sightseeing as well as ample time to relax & enjoy the beautiful locations. Would definitely recommend this tour.

Very nice trip. The tours are good. The city tour in puerto Pricessa was very poor.

Guide to the Philippines has really helped me to get around Palawan, and always making sure if I was comfortable. That was really nice! Hotels -Hue hotel was perfect! Very nice and comfortable, and great styling. The food was super, and the staff nice. The breakfast options were amazing!!! -For the budget option i was supposed to have another hotel, but because it was so busy, I had to switch to Marianne hotel. A hotel that is not finished yet, and still under construction, so no pool and quite some noise and building site smells. Room was all right, but the cleaning could have been better (water stains on mirror and such). Breakfast was not so good, the second day I even chose to have it somewhere else. Transport The transport was arranged perfectly! Nice drivers and on time. Tours - underground river was amazing! Otherworldly! We were lucky because of the weather, other ones were canceled. Lunch was ok. Apparently people could choose an add on to this tour, and go ziplining. Some chose to do this, resulting in having to wait for quite a while. Could have done without that, -honda bay tour was super! The lunch they prepared was absolutely lovely, and the guide took well care of us. We saw some lovely islands and beautiful beaches! Good atmosphere! - Tour C El Nido : i was supposed to be on another tour but in all confusion, i ender up on this one. It was too crowded, and the boat with 30 capacity had 43 tourists on it. After asking, they had to get extra life jackets from another boat. It was not comfortable with so many people on the boat and on the islands. It really was mass tourism, but at least I saw the beautiful nature! All in all, I am very happy I had the help of Guide to the Philippines and would definitely book again! But no more El Nido! Thank you!

Notice of itinerary change arrived the day before our tour started! Despite having booked and paid 2 months previous, island flights had not been booked. This meant two boat tours on successive days, no rest day and first destination cut short. Too long at the following hotel ( which had a bad drain smell) and a late flight to Manila , this meant hanging around and then arriving 8pm in the dark. Extremely unprofessional. We asked for assistance to book four days following our island tour, a reservation was made and cancelled on our way back to Manila, we made our own reservation. The on site agents were polite and punctual. The weather was nice.

10/10 My partner and I are seasoned travellers and usually plan our own holidays. However both of us had extremely hectic schedules in the back end of 2023 and so we went outside of our comfort zone and booked an entire 2 week island hopping tour of the Philippines through Guide To The Philippines (GTTP)! I have to say at first it was pretty daunting, handing over our precious holiday to someone else, but we are SO GLAD WE DID!! This is a team of passionate professionals who did absolutely everything they could to ensure we had a fantastic holiday! The tour itself was incredible, we did the 12-Day Puerto Princesa, El Nido, Coron, Cebu & Siargao Island Hopping Philippine Tour Package experience; possibly a bit too hectic, as we also bolted on all of the additional extras, but that was more us, biting off more than we could chew and in hindsight we don’t regret a thing! I am going out of my way to especially say that you are in very safe hands with the GTTP team! Here is what I experienced: 1. Excellent communication - the team write better English than most native speakers. I never had a language barrier. 2. Efficient - emails were responded to quickly and left no stone unturned, so no constant back and forth 3. Professional - always maintained professionalism, despite I was high maintenance from time to time and they may have wanted to kill me at times (lol) 4. 24/7 - I had support around the clock via email, WhatsApp and iMessage 5. Account Management - not sure if it’s intentional, however we seemed to have one particular agent who took care of most things, like she was assigned to us. Her name was Richel and she is just incredible! You are in fantastic hands if Richel is on your side!!! That said, if Richel was away, the other team members took great care of us also 6. Caring - I felt like I was being taken care of and they were always one step ahead and it filled me with confidence and joy to know they had my best interests at heart. 7. Good Value - Whilst on the tour you get an idea of pricing for each component and given the level of service we received this was incredible value We chose the comfort accommodation package and with the exception of one, the hotels were incredible! We provided feedback to GTTP about the hotel that wasn’t great, and they are looking into it. GTTP literally took care of every single component of our tour. We had daily emails explaining the itinerary for the day ahead with contact details for the tour providers and transport providers. All of our internal flights were organised perfectly. You will be very well taken care of if you choose to book a trip in the Philippines with GTTP. I have not been incentivised or pressured to write this review. It’s just so great to have an exceptional customer experience like my partner and I have had in the lead up and during our holiday! Thanks GTTP and especially Richel for being awesome and having curated a trip and a thousand memories that we will never forget!!! Luke, 40 Australian Eduardo, 39 Colombian
