When Evanescence and Within Temptation first rose to prominence in the early 2000s, it was an unfortunate inevitability that people would try to play the bands off against each other. Never mind that one arose from the down-tuned realms of nu metal and gothic rock and the other symphonic metal ; the fact both bands shared a female vocalist was enough to drum up a perceived rivalry between the groups.

Thankfully, this nonsense was never enough to hold them back and a rotating headline slot ensures there's no sense of inflated ego as Evanescence and Within Temptation take their grandiose vision across Europe and the UK. And what a vision it is; a bustling arena greets Evanescence for the first of the night's two headline sets and from the opening notes of Broken Pieces Shine it is readily apparent just how stunning a production the Americans have brought along for the ride. 

With a pyramid-like backdrop and more illuminations than a fireworks display in a fairy light showroom, Evanescence are immediately striking. But as ever, even with guitars buzzing and crunching amidst a sea of coloured lights, it's vocalist Amy Lee that remains the band's most potent and captivating force, her titanic pipes towering over just about everything else on-stage. 

Shedding the orchestral format of 2018's Synthesis has clearly given Evanescence a sense of bite and urgency that beefs up the heavier aspects of their music; material from last year's The Bitter Truth in particular feels especially hefty, tree-trunk riffs and deep-set grooves throwing back to the band's earliest days while Use My Voice feels so colossal it is already well on the way to being a classic. 

The beauty of this set is in its dichotomy however, the heavy numbers being off-set by grandiose piano ballads that inject a sense of vulnerability and intimacy into the arena setting that makes the show feel especially powerful. Lee is captivating the entire time; whether on her knees headbanging or belting out a ballad at the grand piano, she brings a gravitas that puts her firmly in the spotlight. 

"If there's one thing I've learned in this difficult time, it's to appreciate the moment we're in," Lee offers to a screaming crowd. It's a lovely sentiment, but a little lost on the sea of phones that continuously appear to film massive hits Going Under, Call Me When You're Sober, My Immortal and career-making closing number Bring Me To Life . Even with Ev's truer vision of the song cutting out rapper Paul McCoy's sections, the echoes of his verses still shine through as the crowd sings along, proving that sometimes nostalgia trumps all. 

Maybe it's the gigantic face in the middle of the stage or maybe it's the Churchill speech that introduces them, but there's something decidedly Iron Maiden -like in Within Temptation 's latest stage production. Not that it matters, of course - the comparison is entirely complimentary considering just how much has gone into the stagecraft for their arena run, a sense of theatricality matched only by the enormity of the band's sound when things kick off. 

Opener Our Solemn Hour showcases WT at their operatic best, Sharon Den Adel 's angelic pipes underpinning the sheer grandiosity of everything on-stage. Interestingly, where Evanescence have picked up more classical elements across their career, WT seem to pass them going the opposite direction in live arrangements. 

By nature, the relegation of classical elements to backing tapes means the band has a more prominent and powerful feel in the mix, the jets of flame underpinning a driving intensity and enthusiasm in the band's performance. That doesn't mean the symphonic elements are dispensed with entirely however; Paradise (What About Us) soars on strings and synths, Tarja Turunen's face beamed onto a big screen above the stage as a firm reminder that Within Temptation are symphonic metal royalty and helped shape the genre as we know it today. 

The set pieces throughout the show help cement a sense of theatricality that really flourishes in an arena setting; Sharon singing Angels from atop the gigantic head feels truly Wagnerian, a heavy metal opera with stunning visuals to match as the screens cast flaming wings against her silhouette. 

When she's not cast as an angelic-voiced Valkyrie, Sharon can be found dashing across the stage, whipping the crowd up. To say she's playing to thousands of people, Sharon treats the crowd like it's an evening in a local bar, frequently chatting and checking in on the audience. Entertain You is aborted partway into the intro when she spots a fan in distress, arranging security to attend to the stricken party and get them to safety. This ends up happening a couple of times during the set, but she takes it in grace, quipping "I don't know what you're drinking, or if you skipped dinner, but you need to look after yourselves!"

It's that easy manner and good humour that makes Within Temptation so eminently likeable, their set balancing incredible spectacle and community spirit. Raise Your Banner is dedicated to Ukraine while Sharon laments on recent developments in Poland, Sharon waving a massive Ukrainian flag to once again drive home those Iron Maiden similarities. 

By the time Sharon is lifted into the heavens on a huge hoop swing, there is no denying the sheer spectacle that Within Temptation have achieved on this latest tour, bringing along a production to match their grandiose vision. Closing numbers Ice Queen and Mother Earth end things on an incredible high, a final blitzkrieg of flames, lasers and kaleidoscopic spotlights highlighting that Within Temptation became symphonic metal royalty for a reason, and are still growing bigger, grander and more spectacular with each passing year, even 25 years on from their debut.

Evanescence and Within Temptation confirm rescheduled Worlds Collide tour dates

Yes! Evanescence and Within Temptation’s long-awaited Worlds Collide co-headline tour will still be happening in 2022.

Having announced last week that they've had to postpone their upcoming co-headline tour, Evanescence and Within Temptation have now confirmed their rescheduled dates – and, happily, they'll still be happening this year!

"As the world is slowly reopening again, we have been feeling optimistic about the tour actually taking place in March and April," reads a joint statement from the band. "However, a lot of countries still have restrictions in place, and we are forced to make a decision right now for logistical reasons. We are aware that many fans are preparing to make their plans to attend the shows, some of which involve travel, and given the uncertainty as to exactly when certain countries will lift their restrictions, we are left with no choice but to reschedule the tour, hopefully for the final time."

Within Temptation and Evanescence are happy to announce that the anticipated co-headline ‘Worlds Collide’ European tour will still happen this year.  The European arena tour that was originally due to kick off in March 2022 will now move to November and December 2022. The show at The O2 has been rescheduled to Monday 14th November 2022. All existing tickets remain valid for the new date.

Three long years have passed – rescheduling, re-arranging, a very eager tsunami of UK fans waiting for what promised to be one of the most spectacular shows on our shores and finally, here we are!

Two of the most colossal bands in modern metal deliver their highly anticipated co-headlining tour this Autumn… and my inner teenage self is savouring every minute.

Evanescence and Within Temptation – what more can we say? What a wonderfully fitting combination! The giants of Symphonic Metal and Gothic Rock partner together for their When Worlds Collide tour and despite being countries apart, have so many familiarities with each other. 

The show at The Utilita Arena in Birmingham’s doors were at 6pm, just on the Birmingham Canal Old Line and upon taking a walk from The Flapper just around the corner, the sight of the queues of fans was simply heart warming.

A sea of Evanescence, KoRn, Within Temptation, Nightwish and Slipknot hoodies floating around outside the building, it was like stepping back into the early 2000’s of my teens, hanging out with my like-minded mates belting Evanescence tracks out at the top of our lungs in parks and just before the local Youth Club’s answer to a metal night. 

Everyone was buzzing… so in I went, bumping into some friends along the way. 

Opening band VERIDIA took to the stage with an ambient beginning with blue and purple hues of light and the soothing voice of Deena Jakoub echoing through the void… I had never seen nor heard of Tennessee Alt Rock VERIDIA before this, though as they later mention that they are an independent band since around 2014, I majorly hope that many other people will go and show them the support that they deserve. 

Starting their set with the echoes of heart stopping drums intro to first track Blood Diamond the hype gets started and a visually beautiful show of lights glare through the smoke on stage. Deena’s voice is stunning – she has a modern vocal style that reminds me a little of Spiritbox, Skillet and Pink in some places – a beautiful range that delivers a powerful aura across the arena.

Feed The Animal is delivered to us in again, a very ambient style – which is a nice contrast to the studio version of this track. It’s catchy vibe has a fun edge around it and talks to us of remaining free.

Poppies is one of my favourite tracks from this set… with some electronica moments and Brandon Brown’s scratchy guitar riffs to really get into the depths of this song.

Lyrically, this song touches upon the mental health insights behind addiction and as here it’s live, it’s a really deep hitting track before Still Breathing is introduced to us. Another favourite of mine, this track has a lot of pop influence but powerful tones of groove rock and a huge injection of feeling to draw the audience in.

Deena then stands alone and she speaks with such a sincere and gentle voice, sharing with us her experience with grief, sadly losing her father not so long ago and addressing that grief is such a heavy burden. She encourages the message to share our grief to help ourselves, to not keep it locked away and allow ourselves to heal together… and this is a personal message that I, like many of us, relate to on an extremely deep and familiar level.

Deena introduces Amy Lee onto the stage, where she takes her place on the piano – and there, between them, a truly stunning moment is created. I’ll Never Be Ready reduced me to tears.

Ripples of Amy’s piano vapoured out across the stage and her voice entwined with Deena’s to deliver such a beautiful and powerful representation of inner grief behind loss. Breath-taking.

Next track At The End Of The World gives off a groove rock vibe and re-introduces a thundering drum beat from Kyle Levy throughout. This track has a huge energy and has the crowd around me headbanging before we head into the last track from this fantastic band.

I Wont Stay Down has an atmospheric intro before it launches into an electronica pop style groove and captures an upbeat and positive vibe – touching upon keeping a positive outlook through battling depression. Their first time in the UK, VERIDIA had a fantastic reception from us in Birmingham and I would thoroughly recommend going to catch their set if you see them pop up again!

Darkened stage of purple LED lighting effects set the mood. Amy Lee’s voice echoes the beginning to Artifact/The Turn through the lights, with a core absorbing, stunning intro as the rest of the band enter the stage.

Her silhouette appears at the top of the platform in front of the lights and her phenomenally beautiful voice effortlessly glides across the crowd. She makes her way down towards the rest of the band as the intro melts into the next track Broken Pieces Shine .

The riffing and blasts from the drums weave together, thus we are introduced to Evanescence’s set with a mind-blowing marriage of power, haunting energies and emotion. 

We are taken through 16 mesmerising tracks, mostly taken from Evanescence’s more recent album The Bitter Truth which was released in 2021.

Broken Pieces Shine is a stunning first offering… the sheer emotion is breath taking. The thundering drums of Will Hunt provides the tempo of this track, commanding the falling of everything else into place. 

Made of Stone provided a nostalgic and shining deliverance… the guitars of Tim McCord and Troy McLawhorn were exceptional, creating the heavier melody layers in what we all know and love in Evanescence .

Having said that, we were treated to one of the earliest of Evanescence in it’s full and beautiful glory quite early on in their set – Going Under had the crowd singing at the top of their lungs and I wondered if there were any, like me, there in my mid-thirties, instantly was taken back to when this song was part of my (somewhat) growth at Secondary school, I remember taking Fallen to school every week and playing it on my Walkman until the CD wouldn’t play in it anymore so Mr McSharry let us play it in Art class.

That album Cover Art was part of my Art GCSE project funnily enough – so to be here listening to people my age, plus younger and older, belt this out along with one of our most idolised vocalists in my teens was something to behold.

And let me tell you – the range whilst live is better than what I expected. Pure ambience. The chugging yet tight bass of Emma Anzai underlines the tempo and change of atmospheric moods in Part Of Me – one of my favourite tracks from The Bitter Truth. And live, that ambient mood is amplified tenfold. Emma’s backing vocals are also a beautiful and soothing balance alongside Amy’s powerful haunting vocals. 

This show is probably the most I’ve been caught out, right in those feels… Far From Heaven adorned with glowing lights in the dark of the stage, Amy sits and encapsulates grief and loss in her voice lacing through her beautiful piano work, the atmosphere is drenched in sombre and loving messages to a passed loved one.

Again, I am reduced to tears – and I am not ashamed to admit that. To really absorb music is to feel it. “What if I can’t see your light anymore?” 

Your Star and Call Me When You’re Sober are a couple of the older tracks taken from 2006’s The Open Door , drenching the crowd in more nostalgia amongst the newer tracks and really kicks out some of the epically huge symphonic sides of Evanescence before we are treated to another nostalgic hit– Imaginary was a clear favourite of the night with the crowd singing along as loud as possible (including myself): “In my field of paper floweeeeeeers And candy clouds of lullaby… I lie inside myself for houuuuuuuuuurs And watch my purple sky fly over me.” By the Gods, SO MUCH unity in one song. It was beautiful. Amy’s voice was flawless, absolutely perfect. The band were stunning and delivered that song in all it’s marvel from Fallen as it was at the very beginning of most of our journey’s with Evanescence.

Amy addresses the crowd and tells us that that one of the most powerful tools we have, is our expression, our voices.

“Guess what? When we all stand together, we make A LOUD SOUND! Don’t stop fighting for what you know is right, don’t stop fighting for each other…” Use My Voice seeps through us from the stage and provides the encouraging and powerful message of inner strength and being true to yourself.

This is an uplifting and catchy performance, the bass and drums work together in this track to deliver a sound that is so huge and leaves an impression that matches it’s message.

I was NOT ready for the sheer velocity of emotion that My Immortal provided. The power in this song live was just inexplicable. Amy had the whole Arena join in, lighting up their phone torches, everyone around me was totally in the moment and falling in love with Evanescence all over again.

The chills came when the bridge “Though you’re still with me, I’ve been alone all along…” turning from sombre and haunting piano to a powerful energy of guitars and drums… totally knocked me off my feet. Last track from Evanescence was always going to be Bring Me To Life – and as expected, the finale to their set had full impact. An Arena full of those early 2000’s goth and skater kids at heart belting this phenomenal hit out, reflecting it back to the stage, amongst Amy’s outstanding power to hold her vocal range, was nothing short of spectacular.

A very happy lady, I have been absolutely mesmerised by Evanescence live.

The screen lights up and the face of Winston Churchill with impending Crucifix’s descending towards the crowd with a dooming intro of Leonard Cohen’s  You Want It Darker echoing through the stage.

The set up of the stage for Within Temptation was outstanding.

A gigantic deconstructing head taken from The Purge towering the platform was placed in the middle of a futuristic theme and provided space for astonishing pyrotechnics throughout the set.

Sharon Den Adel’s haunting voice booms out and the choir of Our Solemn Hour emanates out towards the crowd.

The lighting show is spectacular, flames shoot up to the rafters and the ambience is now set. Orchestral and symphonic vibes are the signature Within Temptation highlights.

That is not to say that the Dutch group stay within that genre. Much of their set ranges through melodic and atmospheric tones, experimental entwining with solid riffs and operatic themes.

Faster and Paradise are favourites amongst the crowd, Sharon rings out her vocal range and commands the stage. The band are on point, the guitar riffs are clean yet set the range of tempo, out escapes the energetic frequencies of both songs and deliver a sonic masterpiece amongst the Arena.

During Paradise, we see the face of Tarja Turunen on screen providing vocals along with Sharon – a wonderful duet that was greatly appreciated by the audience. Within Temptation certainly know how to surprise their fans!

The Purge was delivered with so much ambience and beauty, the lighting dimmed and the background of the screens with visions of lightning and clouds in hues of blue and purple. Smoke effects erupted in time with the drums and I feel this is one of the tracks where the bass and guitars could really be felt.

Raise Your Banner  saw Sharon proudly waving the blue and yellow flag across the stage and shouting ‘ SLAVA UKRAINI’  , dedicating the song to Ukraine. And loud this track was! The energy flowing from the stage for the people of Ukraine was exceptional. The ambience of the drums and outpour of support from the crowd was mind blowing and for a moment, the unity in the air was very much real. Within Temptation are an entity all on their own… 

At one point Sharon stopped their set to get help for someone down the front of the stage who needed medical attention – and that tells me that this is a band that truly has empathy and care for their followers.

Second from final offering of the night Ice Queen – saw symphonic vibes ring from the stage that shook the Arena, the vocal range of Sharon in a higher beautiful tone here and blended so well with the atmospheric riffs.

Last offering of the evening, Mother Earth blowing the roof off the Arena off with its huge orchestral tones and symphonic bellows of strings and pipes. The riffs were hardening and bass took the undertone to this beautiful song representing the view of Nature and her ever changing ways.

Absolutely stunning show. All fans of Within Temptation and Evanescence yet to see them on this tour – you don’t know how lucky you’re gonna get it!

It is expected that Evanescence will take to the stage first in Leeds but timings and running order are subject to change.

Within Temptation and Evanescence are happy to announce that the anticipated co-headline ‘Worlds Collide’ European tour will still happen this year.  The European arena tour that was originally due to kick off in March 2022, will now move to November and December 2022. All existing tickets & VIP packages will remain valid for the rescheduled dates and all venues remain the same.

Both bands stated earlier: “ As the world is slowly reopening again, we have been feeling optimistic about the tour actually taking place in March and April. However - a lot of countries still have restrictions in place, and we are forced to make a decision right now for logistical reasons.”

“We are aware that many fans are preparing to make their plans to attend the shows, some of which involve travel, and given the uncertainty as to exactly when certain countries will lift their restrictions, we are left with no choice but to reschedule the tour, hopefully for the final time . ”

All existing tickets & VIP packages will remain valid for the rescheduled dates and all venues remain the same.

Evanescence and Within Temptation will join forces for ‘Worlds Collide’, a massive co-headline European run kicking off in Brussels, Belgium on 4 April 2020. Fronted by two of the most influential and creative women in the rock world in the form of Amy Lee from Evanescence and Sharon Den Adel from Within Temptation, the two bands will be inspiring fans across Europe for ‘Worlds Collide’, with the dates including a show at London’s O2 Arena.

Den Adel said in a statement: “We’ve got exciting news… In April we’re going to team up with Evanescence to bring you a very special co-headline tour! This is going to be a tour YOU don’t want to miss. It was really great meeting Amy and the rest of the band recently. I think we have a lot in common, but most of all, I’m sure that we share the same passion and fire for what we love doing most. I’m really looking forward to touring Europe together and to make it memorable!”

3 years later and after 2 postponements, The World’s Collide Tour is finally going ahead. We’ve been waiting a long time to see Evanescence and Within Temptation brings their co-headline tour to the UK and after seeing glimpses of the first few shows, we can barely contain our excitement for tonight!!

Up first is Veridia who is another strong female-led band. Prior to this tour, I have to admit that they had not hit my radar but after a quick preview on Spotify, it’s clear why these guys are opening the tour. Starting with “Blood Diamond” there is a strong middle Eastern influence to their sound which is exemplified when Deena Jakoub drops her mic and picks up some LED fans to dance with. She is a powerhouse of a frontwoman and vocalist as she gets the crowd warmed up between songs and showcases her vocal range during them. There is no doubt that these guys have a strong metal sound but the backing tracks and melodies in the vocals make this stand out as something special. Amy Lee certainly thinks so having invited the band on the tour and also joining them on stage to play the piano for “I’ll Never Be Ready” which Jakoubs explains is a song close to her heart as it’s about the loss of her dad and something she bonded with Lee over after she also lost her brother. After a heartwarming moment like that Jacobs knows that they need to pump the energy back up and with the crowd clapping along gives us “At the End of the World” and “I Won’t Stay Down” to close the set.

As it’s a co-headlining tour, the last slot changes each night and tonight it’s Evanescence’s turn to hit the stage first. Having only seen these guys perform with a full orchestra, I’m excited to see a full-stage show. As the lights go down and the intro track plays, a light show before the screen gives a brief countdown for the band to take to the stage. Amy Lee appears at the back of the stage as they kick things off with “Broken Pieces Shine”. From the moment she hits the stage to the moment she leaves, Lee has an incredible stage presence that you can’t take your eyes away from. Her voice is phenomenal as she moves from soft melodies to heavier metal sounds. The setlist is very heavy as it takes it all the way back to “Going Under” while also including many of the more recent songs such as “Made of Stone”. That’s not to say that there’s no time for Amy to get behind the piano for “Far From Heaven” and “Your Star” and provide some of those haunting vocals that she’s so well known for. The rest of the band is on fire tonight too as they stand tall as the backbone of the performance. All of this is accompanied by one of the best light shows I have to say I’ve ever seen. From the lit-up risers to the LED backlights to the patterned lights above the piano, every single one works in perfect harmony with the music bringing a whole extra level of drama to the performance. As we head into the last half hour of the set, the band take it back to a very heavy version of “Call Me When You’re Sober” and “Imaginary” which the crowd love. There’s time for 2 more of the newer hits with the inspirational “Use Your Voice” and “Blind Belief” before a huge ending. With such a long-awaited tour, it’s only fitting to end with two of the band’s biggest hits. Starting with “My Immortal” the crowd are quick to sing along before taking it all the way to “Bring Me to Life”. It’s been an incredible show and well worth the wait to see Evanescence hit the stage again!

After a huge changeover on the stage, it’s time for Within Temptation to take over. Just looking at the stage, it’s clear we’re in for a very different performance from these guys. As the smoke fills the stage and video visuals begin, Within Temptation has a very different way of bringing the drama to the stage. As the main circular lighting rig lifts, Sharon Den Adel is ready to go behind it as they start the show with “See Who I Am”. These guys have a

different energy to them as the band runs around the stage making the most of the set. This continues through “Faster” and “Paradise(What About Us?)” as the lighting rivals that of Evanescence. Throughout this, the lighting rig which had hidden Sharon at the start is now raised above the stage and playing the original song videos. As the set continues into “Angels”, Sharon is raised above the huge head that stands at the back of the stage as the floor is filled with smoke. The show keeps on giving though as the pyro kicks in for “Stand My Ground” and flames shoot from the stage. At this point Sharon takes a moment and asks the crowd if they would fight for their country as she dedicates “Raise your Banner” to Ukraine and brings a Ukrainian Flag out to wave as she performs to a backdrop of more flames. At the end of the song she comes forward to speak to a fan on the front row who is from the Ukraine and becomes speechless before saying how glad she is that they are here safe. As the show continues, there’s more spectacular pyro with which the crowd are encouraged to raise their hands in time. The band’s performance throughout tonight is outstanding as they perform hit after hit with incredible precision and energy. While these guys have brought a full stage show, it doesn’t distract from how talented this band are. Sharon’s voice is incredible live too as she moves from the heavy melodies to operatic tones. Even suspended high above the stage she hits every note as though her feet are on solid ground and this is even more impressive when she admits that she doesn’t like flying! As we head towards the end of the night, there’s time for another big sing along with “What Have You Done” before closing with “Ice Queen” and “Mother Earth”. It’s safe to say it’s been one hell of a show.

The World’s Collide tour showcases some of the leading female fronted bands in the rock and metal genre. Both Evanescence and Within Temptation have their own unique styles and have put on two very different shows under one roof in one night. What these bands have in common though is that they are forces to be reckoned with and put on some of the most incredible stage shows. Here’s to hoping it’s not another 2 and a half years before they play again!

WITHIN TEMPTATION Announces Fall 2024 European Tour

Dutch symphonic metallers WITHIN TEMPTATION will embark on the "Bleed Out" European headlining tour in the fall of 2024. The trek, in support of the band's upcoming album, "Bleed Out" , promises to be an experience that will leave fans breathless.

The tour starts in October 2024, with the U.K. leg kicking off in November at the Cardiff Utiliia Arena (October 15),followed by London's Wembley Arena (October 16),Nottingham Motorpoint Arena (October 18) and Leeds First Direct Arena (October 19),ahead of the band continuing their run across the rest of Europe into December.

Tickets for the "Bleed Out" 2024 tour are available for pre-sale to dedicated fans now, with the general sale launching at 9 a.m. BST on Friday, October 6.

"Bleed Out" 2024 tour marks WITHIN TEMPTATION 's return to indoor venues after the successful "Worlds Collide" tour featuring WITHIN TEMPTATION and EVANESCENCE as co-headliners. Last month, WITHIN TEMPTATION released a brand-new single "Ritual" . The song is the focus track of "Bleed Out" , due out on October 20.

Reflecting the tumultuous state of the world, for their newest record the band have drawn inspiration from events such as the murder of Mahsa Amini in Iran and the war in Ukraine. But that isn't to say that there's no light to the heavy shade on "Bleed Out" .

Vocalist Sharon Den Adel explains that the song "is one of the kinkiest songs the band have ever written and is fully inspired by 'From Dusk Till Dawn' ." She is referring to the iconic movie by Quentin Tarantino about a seemingly normal road trip turning into a vampire slayer party. "It's a fun track about seduction," she explains. "It's about the lady taking power in a male dominated world and taking her own initiative."

"Bleed Out" signifies a bold leap forward for the band. From contemporary, hard-hitting, and djenty riffs to soaring melodies displaying their symphonic roots, WITHIN TEMPTATION has created a sonic journey that fuses diverse musical styles and thought-provoking themes. This is an album that is as epic as it is unflinchingly outspoken, and now more than ever, this is a band who isn't afraid to make a stand on issues the members care about.

Since the start of the war in Ukraine, WITHIN TEMPTATION have shifted their focus from writing about personal emotions and societal subjects to tackling global injustices and reflecting the tumultuous state of the world in a way that other artists seem unable or unwilling to do.

Den Adel states: "The war in Ukraine has influenced us a lot. As artists we are inspired by the world, and we have this platform. We are storytellers, and I think as human beings, these are things we should be talking about."

While songs such as "Wireless" and "We Go To War" examine the authoritarian aggression on display in Ukraine and other warzones, the title track itself addresses the plight of women fighting for their rights in Iran after the murder of Mahsa Amini .

Den Adel explains, "I lived in Yemen when I was a kid. My parents lived in several countries in the Middle East, and I've visited them a lot when they were there. It's a different world. Due to my time there, I feel connected to that part of the world. I've been so incredibly impressed by the bravery of the young women there who've been burning their scarves knowing they were going to be thrown in prison or worse. It's heartbreaking."

The album also grapples with the complex issues around a woman's right to choose in recent single "Don't Pray For Me" and throughout, this impassioned and political focus is reflected in the intensity and heaviness of the music. Embracing a new era of musical exploration and lyrical depth, WITHIN TEMPTATION have pushed boundaries and showcased their artistic evolution, delivering a fist-in-the-air proclamation of both their moral convictions and their fearless approach to music.

Imbued with a vast dynamic range that plumbs the full depth of symphonic heaviosity, "Bleed Out" is as exuberantly heavy as it is politically profound.

"Bleed Out" will be released in multiple physical formats and across all streaming via WITHIN TEMPTATION 's own label Force Music Recordings in a joint venture with Bertus Distribution for worldwide distribution and Amped Distribution for the U.S. and Canada.

WITHIN TEMPTATION 's last album, "Resist" , was released in February 2019 through Spinefarm Records , the specialist hard rock label of Universal Music Group .

Due to the rapidly evolving nature of current events Evanescence and Within Temptation are forced to postpone their massive co-headline European tour until later this year.

The tour, which was due to kick off in Brussels on April 4 th , will now move to later this year. Specific information dates for the rescheduled shows will be available shortly.   All existing tickets & VIP Packages will remain valid for the rescheduled dates.

Evanescence singer Amy Lee said “ As many of you have already predicted, it is beyond our control that our upcoming European tour will have to be postponed. The shows WILL go on, and we are already busy locking in the new dates for this fall. We are disappointed to make you wait, but fully agree that your health, safety and lives are more important than a concert. We will be releasing the first new music from our new album very soon, and are going to turn our full focus toward that till the show can go on. Stay tuned for new dates and new music. We love you!”
