I have booked a 8 days tour with Nam Ho " Touch Taiwan" mainly (oct departure)for Kids to enjoy farm stay. I confirmed booking thru email and paid deposit by ATM. I did not even go down to find out more about the tour package. I am little worried, is 8 days too tiring for kids? route: Taipei -> Yilan-> Hualian (by tain)->Taidong->Kaohsiun->Lugang->Taichung->Taipei. Only 1 train ride and the rest are by coach. Anyone know roughly how many hrs coach ride from 1 place to another? Also in the itinerary they highlighted (1st night in Taipei) will be staying at Jin Yong Quan Spa Hotsping Resort (or similar class) * remember to bring swim suite & cap. I have checked this resort looks good as me & kids can enjoy hot spa in the night. But when they send me invoice about my paying details they have indicated that (1st night) check into Taipei Garden hotel. I google searched and this is a normal hotel nothing much to do inside. I wondering why not another similar "Hotspring resort/hotel" I do not want to feel short changed...... i worried of long coach ride as well. Feel like backing this package but I have already paid $1K deposit. Total 6 nights minus day in /out by air. How often can they change and not adhere to the itinerary? I asked how long we are given time to "EDA" he said 2 to 3 hrs depend on the sequence of the tour, which i feel should be given longer like 4 hrs. I asked the consultant, he said this is a popular package, so i presume is not first offer, they should have an experience. The whole trip is just me and my 5 & 7 yo boys.

Unpleasant encounter with Hong Thai Travel

I just came back from a 8 days tour package to Harbin with Hong Thai Travel Pte Ltd. It was a total disappointment with some unhappy incidents with Hong Thai Travel. Firstly, was the flight arrangement. Before deposit was paid, the itinerary stated that we will fly to Harbin via Shanghai (one stop}. However, last minute we were told that instead of one stop at Shanghai, we have to transfer at shanghai pudong airport and take a coach to Shanghai Hong Qiao Airport. We boarded a domestic flight from shanghai to Harbin with another stop-over at Tianjin. Our arrival at Harbin was supposed to be at 1155hrs instead we arrived at 1720hrs which had wasted us an additional 5 hours and 30min travelling time. After we met the tour guide at Harbin, we told that isnt any convenient store along the way to hotel for us to grab some food for dinner. As Harbin sunset at 4.30pm, practically there was no shop to buy snacks or food. All of us check-in hotel without dinner. As it was the first day, the tour group members were too shy to bring up the issue or made any request. Secondly, a very absurd and ridiculous statement that I have ever heard from from a staff "Choon Mei" from Hong Thai. Prior to my departure, I called up Hong Thai to enquire about the flight details, when was informed there were 2-stop-over instead of one stop. The staff told me that due to weather at Harbin and it is during winter season, the plane has to make another stop at Tianjin as flying too long , the plane will be frozen. The excuse for the change of flight details were said by a reputable travel agency. Unbelieveable!! An advice : before paying deposit ensure the travel agency confirm the flight details.

Rome encompasses 20 centuries of history. Not only the archaeological findings of the fora and buildings of the Roman Empire in the area between Colosseum and Piazza Venezia, but the Colosseum itself and the Pantheon are 20 centuries old. All over the historic center of Rome, places with archaeological findings can be encountered, to give one example, Largo di Torre Argentina, which is so rich in findings and so important that the planned building of a metro station of the new Line C in the vicinity of Largo di Torre Argentina was cancelled some time ago.

Walking into the landscape near where the Ceasars lived and the Apostle Paul wrote to churches, and he and others, were imprisoned. Near the Colosseum where so much of history took place and the Romans govern one third of the world... was awesome and overpowering. I was inspired and challenged to make our world better. More kindly, accepting, and loving.

I saw so many pictures, read so many books about, but only there I realized that my fantasy was not strong enough... It feels strange to walk where they walked...the good old Romans (not all of them, of course!), to see the columns so close, the pavements, walls, sculptures...It almost sent me back in time, dreaming of how it was their life like... A whole afternoon I spent it together with Caesar, Traianus, I went shopping at Traianus' markets, I admired the Arch of Constantine... Have a walk in the Ancient Rome, all by yourself, sit down and have a cappuccino in the sun, nothing can ruin your day (oh, well, rain can do it !)...

The Forum and Colosseum are remarkable ancient ruins. Read up on the history before you go if you are not taking a guided tour. Audio guides were not available when we visited. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Try to visit at sunset.

Very interested area. You need to be able to walk on uneven walkways and up stairs or hills and ramps. This is a half day walking on your own. There are no lines to get tickets in October so don't waste your money on a tour that cost a lot of money and tells you you will avoid the lines! You will pay much less and be at your leis walking through the park. I suggest you look at the drawing/map they give you if the area and you will have it all!
