The legendary exploits of players like Bill Shankly, Kenny Dalglish, and Steven Gerrard have made Anfield one of the most memorable venues in sports.

During a match at Anfield, the Kop, the stadium’s famed main stand, is a sea of red and white with deafening chants and support from Liverpool fans.

The very air crackles with anticipation as the players emerge from the tunnel, ready to etch their names into Anfield’s rich history.

This is not it. You can see much more than that inside the stadium.

1. The Gateways

The Gateways

Shankly Gates is a tribute to football icon Bill Shankly, the legendary Liverpool manager, and reads the powerful words “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” These are the lyrics to Gerry and the Pacemakers’ hit song, which was adopted as Liverpool’s anthem. Outside the Kop, the Paisley Gateway is a memorial to former manager Bob Paisley.

This gateway, built in 1999, depicts the three European Cups Paisley brought to Anfield during his leadership period.

It symbolizes his unparalleled success and lasting impact on the club.

The Anfield Road End Gateways, located at each corner of the Anfield Road stand, serve as imposing sentinels guarding the stadium’s most iconic stretch.

With their crests and dates, these gateways symbolize Liverpool Football Club’s enduring spirit and deep connection to the Anfield community.

2. Four Stands

Four Stands

Between many seats, you can see the four stands of Anfield, namely the Anfield Road end, the Sir Kenny Dalglish Stand, the Kop, and the Main Stand.

Each stand holds a special place in the hearts of Liverpool fans and has contributed to the stadium’s legendary reputation.

The Main Stand features a statue of Bob Paisley, while the Kop features a statue of Bill Shankly.

The Main Stand, located at the stadium’s west end, is the largest stand at Anfield and is home to the club’s executive boxes and media facilities.

It is a three-tiered stand that can hold up to 11,762 fans. The stand is known for its modern design and its excellent views of the pitch.

It is a single-tiered stand that can hold up to 12,390 fans, and its reputation for creating an electrifying atmosphere is unmatched in world football.

The Kop is known for its passionate singing and chanting, which can be heard throughout the stadium and beyond.

The stand’s iconic red and white scarves create a visual spectacle that adds to the intimidating atmosphere.

Sir Kenny Dalglish Stand

The Sir Kenny Dalglish Stand, formerly known as the Centenary Stand, is located at the stadium’s east end.

This stand is named after one of Liverpool’s most legendary players and managers.

It is a two-tiered stand that can hold up to 9,074 fans. The stand is known for its modern design and its excellent views of the pitch.

Anfield Road End

It is a two-tiered stand that can hold up to 20,676 fans.

The stand is known for its passionate atmosphere and close proximity to the players.

3. Player’s Tunnel

In the center of the stand, at pitch level, are the players’ tunnel and the technical area, where the managers and substitutes sit throughout the game. You can touch the “THIS IS ANFIELD” sign hung above the stairs leading down to the pitch. Its purpose was to bring good luck to Liverpool players who touched it and intimidate the opposition.

4. Room

Room

The dressing rooms at Anfield Stadium are a private and exclusive space where the Liverpool Football Club players prepare for their matches.

They are located on the lower level of the stadium and are only accessible to players, coaches, and authorized personnel.

By purchasing the entry ticket , you can enter the dressing room, where strategies are discussed, and experience the electric atmosphere and anticipation that fills the air. You can also click pictures with your football hero’s jerseys.

5. Bronze Statues of Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley

At Anfield Stadium, two bronze statues are enduring tributes to the club’s most revered managers, Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley.

A magnificent bronze statue of Bill Shankly, over 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall, proudly stands before the Kop, capturing him in a charismatic pose adorned with a fan’s scarf.

The inscription, “Bill Shankly—He Made the People Happy,” eloquently conveys his profound impact on the club and its supporters.

A second splendid bronze statue, also towering at 8 feet (2.4 meters), stands outside the Main Stand in Paisley Square.

Standard Chartered, the club’s main sponsor, commissioned and donated it.

This statue immortalizes Bob Paisley. It portrays him carrying future club captain Emlyn Hughes off the field during a match against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield in April 1968.

The anfield experience: liverpool’s iconic stadium.

‘It’s Like He’s Never Played There Before’: Opinion on Trent Alexander-Arnold Criticism

Anfield Stadium, home to Liverpool FC , has been consistently rated by fans as one of the best Premier League stadiums in England in terms of atmosphere and overall fan experience.

Spending a day at this remarkable venue is a one-of-a-kind experience that is guaranteed to be unforgettable. In this guide, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know about visiting Anfield Stadium.

Buying Tickets

The first step on your journey to Anfield Stadium is purchasing tickets. Due to the popularity and demand, buying  Liverpool tickets  isn’t always an easy task. However, there are a few tips and tricks that will help you increase your chances.

The first tip is to plan ahead and book tickets as early as you can. This tip is particularly crucial if you’re looking to attend a significant game, particularly deciding matches and local derbies, as tickets for these fixtures tend to sell out quickly.

If you’ve missed out on buying tickets from the official Liverpool FC website, don’t fret — there are a few other avenues you can explore. Trusted online resellers offer a means of securing access to otherwise sold out matches, but be sure to check reviews and ensure you are buying from a reputable provider of genuine tickets.

Things to Know Before The Big Day

Arrive Early

It is recommended that you arrive at least 45 minutes before kick-off to ensure you have enough time to find your seats and enjoy some refreshments before the game starts. Planning to arrive early will also offer you some leeway in the event of any unforeseen circumstances delaying your arrival.

There are no cash points in Anfield Stadium, so make sure you take out any cash that you’ll need for the day in advance.

Don’t Buy Tickets from Outside the Stadium

We strongly advise that you do not buy tickets from sellers outside the stadium. These tickets are often fraudulent, going against the club’s ticketing policy. Purchasing fake tickets is not only a waste of money, but also incredibly disappointing when you are denied access at the gate.

Travelling to Anfield Stadium

There are several options to choose from when making your way to Anfield Stadium:

Many people choose to travel to Anfield Stadium by car. While this is a good option, remember that traffic will be particularly heavy before and after the match. Options for parking may be limited and in some cases expensive, so be sure to leave adequate time for travelling to and from the stadium.

Liverpool has excellent bus connections with plenty of routes running from the city centre. Bus numbers 14 and 19 depart from the city centre and stop near the football stadium, making it a cheap, easy, and sustainable option for heading to the game.

If you’re travelling from further afield, the closest train station to Anfield Stadium is Liverpool Lime Street Station. This is around 2 miles, or a 30-minute walk, from the stadium. From here, you can either travel on foot or order a taxi.

Taxis in and around Liverpool offer excellent value for money. The journey from the city centre to Anfield Stadium takes around 10 minutes and typically costs around £7-9.

Anfield Stadium is located in a residential area not too far from the city centre. Depending on where you’re travelling from, arriving at the stadium on foot is a great option that will guarantee arrival on time.

Other Ways to Experience Anfield Stadium

Stadium Tour

If you’re unable to secure tickets to a match on your chosen dates, consider arranging a stadium tour. This typically includes visits to the dressing rooms, players’ tunnel, pitchside, and the press room.

The Anfield Experience

The Anfield Experience is one step up from a stadium tour. This unique package allows you to spend the day like a VIP in Anfield Stadium and includes access to restricted areas, Q&As with former players, and even photo opportunities with trophies.

Museum Visit

The Liverpool FC Museum is also located at Anfield and offers a deep insight into the club’s rich history. The museum itself is filled with memorabilia and information about the club and its players (both past and present). There are also interactive exhibits and a range of different activities catering to all age groups.

If you’re keen to visit Anfield Stadium but want to experience it in a new way, consider attending a concert. A huge range of prominent bands have graced the stage at Anfield Stadium including Elton John, The Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, and Take That (to name a few!).

Anfield Stadium is one of the top attractions in Liverpool. Securing tickets to a Liverpool FC match isn’t always easy, but by planning ahead, buying tickets early, and exploring various ticket purchasing options, you’ll increase your chances of gaining access to this iconic stadium.

If you’re looking for a truly memorable experience, The Anfield Experience and stadium tour offers an in-depth look at the rich history of Liverpool FC and their home stadium.

Taylor Swift fans can still snap up UK Eras Tour resale tickets despite selling out in 'record time'

T aylor Swift had undoubtedly the best year of her career, so far, in 2023. She is said to have sold more than 4.3 million tickets to her global Eras Tour, which kicked off last year, making her one of the highest-grossing touring artists , which helped establish her billionaire status. She even was named Time Magazine's Person of the Year.

Taylor, who has proven herself as the new queen of pop, has played in countless countries across the continents on her Eras Tour, playing in both North and South America, as well as stints in Europe and Asia. Luckily for British Swifties, she i s soon to make the UK her stage, playing 15 shows up and down the country from June to August.

Unfortunately, the Love Story singer-songwriter has not announced any Manchester dates, but she is playing three consecutive shows shows within about an hour's drive of Manchester. After playing Edinburgh, Taylor will make Liverpool's Anfield Stadium her new home for June 13, 14 and 15.

It's been seriously difficult for Swifties to get Eras Tour tickets. They've been selling out almost instantly, and with tickets for Liverpool Anfield first released on June 18 last year, you'd be forgiven for thinking there's no more chances.

You can keep checking AXS and Ticketmaster for official tickets, as fans are able to resell theirs if they can no longer go. But those are likely to get snapped up insanely fast.

Instead, consider resale ticket websites. Viagogo and VividSeats are selling Taylor Swift Eras Tour tickets. Those websites give you the opportunity to shop at your leisure, as tickets put up for sale by fans remain there until bought.

At the time of writing, the cheapest ticket on Viagogo for her gig at Anfield on June 14 cost £338. There were around 400 when we checked, but new ones keep getting added. On VividSeats , the cheapest ticket at the time of writing was $630, which amounts to roughly £498.

With people often concerned about using resale tickets, a Viagogo spokesperson told the Express: "The European leg of Taylor Swift’s Eras tour has been long anticipated. We’ve not seen anything like this since The Beatles and with tickets having only just gone on sale, demand is at its peak right now.

"Viagogo is a regulated marketplace where fans have the freedom to buy and sell tickets to their favourite live events, safely and securely, backed by a guarantee. Sellers on our marketplace may list tickets at high values when demand is high, but prices can change and tend to reduce over time.

"We recommend Swifties wait for demand to settle and check regularly for a listing that meets their budget. Tickets for Taylor Swift’s UK dates have already sold for as low as 172 GBP on our platform. Also, tickets listed at eye-catchingly high prices rely, if ever, sell."

AXS also released a statement: "The only way to obtain a valid ticket for Taylor Swift’s shows is via the approved ticket agents. In the UK, the approved ticket agents are: Ticketmaster, AXS or directly through the venue’s website. In Ireland, the approved ticket agent is Ticketmaster. Any tickets found to be purchased via re-sale on the non-official secondary market will not be valid for entry into the concerts and will be cancelled in accordance with the terms and conditions of sale."

"Through official resale facilities, ticket resale prices are capped to help combat the inflation of ticket prices and put a stop to ticket touting. For more information on o fficial resale facilities , fans should visit the website of their approved ticket agent," they added.

Taylor Swift: How you can still get your hands on resale tickets for the 2024 Eras Tour

The countdown is on until Taylor Swift's Eras Tour and if you are one of the many thousands who had no luck getting your tickets last year, there are ways to see her take to the stage

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour

  • Updated 14:09, 5 Apr 2024

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour has taken the world by storm and the superstar is returning to the UK in a matter of months - but for many it will be a Cruel Summer with tickets very hard to come by.

While many fans got lucky and managed to snap up theirs when they first went on sale in 2023, thousands and thousands failed - but there's still a chance to see what will be an amazing show. We all know getting your hands on tickets has been a challenge for Swifties as they sold out almost as soon as they became available.

She is playing Wembley Stadium in London as well as dates in Edinburgh, Liverpool and Cardiff. You can keep an eye on Ticketmaster and AXS for official tickets and any resale tickets are likely to be bought very quickly. You could also look at resale ticket websites and Viagogo and VividSeats are selling tour tickets. Right now, the cheapest ticket on Viagogo is £310.

A spokesperson for Viagogo, a ticket resale marketplace, said: "The European leg of Taylor Swift's Eras tour has been long anticipated. We've not seen anything like this since The Beatles and with tickets having only just gone on sale, demand is at its peak right now.

"Viagogo is a regulated marketplace where fans have the freedom to buy and sell tickets to their favourite live events, safely and securely, backed by a guarantee. Sellers on our marketplace may list tickets at high values when demand is high, but prices can change and tend to reduce over time. We recommend Swifties wait for demand to settle and check regularly for a listing that meets their budget. Tickets for Taylor Swift's UK dates have already sold for as low as 172 GBP on our platform. Also, tickets listed at eye-catchingly high levels rarely, if ever, sell."

AXS, another approved ticket seller, warns: "The only way to obtain a valid ticket for Taylor Swift's shows is via an official agent. Any tickets found to be purchased via an unauthorised reseller will not be valid for entry into the concerts and will be cancelled in accordance with the terms and conditions of sale."

"Through official resale facilities, ticket resale prices are capped to help combat the inflation of ticket prices and put a stop to ticket touting. For more information on official resale facilities, fans should visit the website of their approved ticket agent," they added in a statement.

Corner Picks, best soccer bets, odds, predictions: Roma top Lazio and why Man United can challenge Liverpool

Corner picks looks to keep the ball rolling this weekend during a huge rome derby and a premier league grudge match.

untitled-design-2024-04-05t193846-273.png

The Champions League will return next week and feature the first of two legs between the club currently considered the best in the world, Manchester City, and the club long considered the best in the world, Real Madrid. A quick look at the odds shows that Manchester City arae not only favored to advance in the tie, but to win in Madrid Tuesday night.

These odds will likely prove accurate, but even if I don't expect Madrid to get past City, I can't shake the feeling that Real Madrid are on the precipice of a renaissance, one that seems modeled after the approach of the team it'll face in Manchester City.

For all the moral concerns about where Manchester City's money has come from over the last decade, it's hard to deny the club took a prudent approach to building its juggernaut. A deliberate and intelligent approach brought City to this point, and Madrid have noticed.

Yes, Kylian Mbappe is (extremely) likely to come this summer, and he's not what anybody would consider a small move, but Madrid have also added 17-year-old Endrick too. One of the world's brightest prospects, he'll join in the summer. During the season, we've seen Madrid begin the process of replacing veterans Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Dani Carvajal with younger players who are already blossoming into superstars.

This is the same club of the Galacticos and the one currently run by Florentino Perez, who tried (and is still trying) to bring forth a Super League nobody wants. But he's also at the helm of a burgeoning super team, where Kylian Mbappe feels more like a finishing stroke than a starting point.

Date: Saturday, April 6 | Time: 12 p.m. ET | Watch: Paramount+

A lot has changed since these clubs met in the Coppa Italia quarterfinals in January. Roma moved on from Jose Mourinho following that 1-0 loss and have seen their fortunes change for the better in Serie A. While the victory was a high point for Lazio, the overall tenor of the season remained disappointing, leading to Maurizio Sarri's resignation last month. Now, the Derby della Capitale is a battle of Daniel de Rossi and Igor Tudor's sides.

As I mentioned last week, Tudor's first goal since taking over has been to improve Lazio defensively. He's been successful in doing so. The problem is Lazio's attack remains largely anemic and unreliable. Roma managed an uninspiring scoreless draw against Lecce last time out, but were without Lorenzo Pellegrini for the match, and, to their credit, Lecce executed their game plan to perfection. Pellegrini will return for this match, and Paulo Dybala will likely return to the starting lineup. Roma have struggled with Lazio recently, but this is the week they get that sky-blue monkey off their back. The Pick: Roma (+120)

Manchester United vs. Liverpool

Date: Sunday, April 7 | Time: 10:30 a.m. ET | Watch: NBC

I'm taking a slight risk here. It's entirely possible that giving up two goals in the final two minutes to lose to Chelsea 4-3 on Thursday could result in United playing like zombies in this match. There are also the mounting injuries United are dealing with that could be a problem. But you know what? The narrative surrounding the situation is providing some value for us here.

These teams have played twice already this season. The first was a scoreless draw at Anfield, while the second was a 4-3 United win at Old Trafford in the FA Cup. United managed a result in both, and there's a good chance they do so again here. Liverpool are favored to win the Premier League, but will have their road form to blame if they fail. While the results haven't been awful (2 points per match on the road), Liverpool's expected goal (xG) differential in 14 road matches is only +1.3. The match goes one of two ways. Either Liverpool blow the doors off a shellshocked United, or Manchester makes it extremely uncomfortable for 90 minutes. The latter scenario is a lot more likely than the odds suggest. The Pick: Manchester United or Draw (+130)

Tottenham Hotspur vs. Nottingham Forest

Date: Sunday, April 7 | Time: 1 p.m. ET | Watch: USA

United's shock loss earlier this week doesn't only impact them but Tottenham and Aston Villa as well. The loss left United nine points behind Tottenham in the table, which means it's highly unlikely either Tottenham or Villa will finish lower than fifth. That's significant since it's expected the Premier League will get five teams into next season's Champions League.

Still, it's not a guarantee, so Tottenham must continue operating with the plan to take fourth from Villa, and they're facing a Forest team that's turned a corner after an awful run to pick up five points in their last three matches. Tottenham home matches have been highly entertaining this season, and I'm betting that that trend will continue. Spurs have played 15 home matches, scoring in each and scoring at least two goals in 11 of them. Overall the matches have averaged 3.4 goals, including an average of 3.75 in the last eight. The Pick: Over 3.5 (+108)
