Eric Church to Play Amphitheaters on 2023 Outsiders Revival Tour

Eric Church is taking things outdoors this summer: The country singer-songwriter launches the Outsiders Revival Tour in June. Calling back to the title of his 2014 album Outsiders , the trek will focus exclusively on open-air venues in North America (his first outdoor tour in 13 years) and showcase a rotating group of opening acts.

Kicking off June 22 in Milwaukee, the Outsiders Revival Tour runs through the end of September and finds Church visiting virtually every part of the U.S. (although California is notably absent from the itinerary). Stops include Cincinnati’s Riverbend Music Center, Washington’s Gorge Amphitheatre , and a two-night stint at the Wharf in Orange Beach, Alabama, on Aug. 18 and 19. Tickets go on sale to the public Jan. 20 at 10 a.m. local time.

New experiences are the order of the day today for the chief.

Eric Church has announced a 27-date tour that will not only see him play outdoor amphitheaters for the first time, but also plan a tour for the Summer for the first time also. Starting on June 22 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the tour will finish up on September 30 in Tampa, Florida.

Announcing on social media, the chief stated, "We have never done an outdoor summer tour. Never headlined amphitheaters. Never brought a summer experience to your town that featured artists we want to share the summer with.

Until now. See you in the season of sunshine with some fellow outsiders that shine brightest when the sun goes down".

The aforementioned 'outsiders' that Church is speaking of are the wealth of support acts that will be joining him for the shows.

This is the first time Church is bringing a support act out with him since the Outsiders Tour in 2014, having instead taken to playing wild, hours-long sets himself over the last few years.

Whiskey Myers , Cody Jinks , Jelly Roll, Ashley McBryde, Koe Wetzel and Lainey Wilson will all join the chief for a set of dates, as well as Midland , Parker McCollum , Travis Tritt, Elle King, Paul Cauthen, Jackson Dean and Morgan Wade.

To close up the wealth of acts, Muscadine Bloodline, Shane Smith & The Saints, Hailey Whitters , Ray Wylie Hubbard & The Red Clay Strays will also play select dates.

Around a week after the initial announcement, Eric Church announced an extra date at Orange Beach, Alabama on August 17.

Along with the other two Orange Beach shows, this will be supported by Jackson Dean and Bell Bottom Country star, Lainey Wilson.

Due to the unsurprisingly immense popularity of the tour, Eric Church has also added a couple of extra dates in George, WA, with Jelly Roll and Hailey Whitters, along with six new shows in Charleston, SC; Toronto, ON; Rogers, AR; Saratoga, NY; Atlanta, GA; and Charlotte, NC.

ERIC CHURCH ADDS EIGHT DATES TO THE OUTSIDERS REVIVAL TOUR DUE TO OVERWHELMING DEMAND

New Shows Added in Charleston, Toronto, Rogers, Orange Beach, Saratoga Springs, George, Atlanta and Charlotte as Multiple Dates Sell Clean During First Day of Public On Sale

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – With more than 10 dates selling clean during the first day of public on sales, the man praised by POLLSTAR for “having already long established himself as one of the most successful touring country artists” has responded to the overwhelming demand by adding eight new shows to his eagerly-anticipated The Outsiders Revival Tour spanning the U.S. and Canada this summer.

In addition to the originally announced slate of 27 dates, Eric Church will also bring the outdoor experience – his first open-air trek in more than a decade – to newly added dates in Charleston, Toronto, Rogers, Orange Beach, Saratoga Springs, George, Atlanta and Charlotte.

Joining “The Chief” across varying dates are Whiskey Myers, Cody Jinks, Jelly Roll, Ashley McBryde, Koe Wetzel, Lainey Wilson, Midland, Parker McCollum, Travis Tritt, Elle King and Paul Cauthen, plus Jackson Dean, Morgan Wade, Muscadine Bloodline, Shane Smith & The Saints, Hailey Whitters, Ray Wylie Hubbard and The Red Clay Strays.

“When I approach touring, I’m always inspired by a new experience, a new way to gather, toexpress ourselves sonically and visually. Whether it’s solo, in the round, double down; being able to bring a different perspective has always brought out our best creatively,” Church shared when initially announcing the tour. “Well, we have never done an outdoor summer tour. Kicking off June 22, the Live Nation produced tour takes the man celebrated by Forbes for “offering fans a unique experience each night while conjuring up the unpredictability that used to make concerts unforgettable” to 26 cities across the U.S. and Canada. Tickets to all originally announced dates are on sale now, with added dates on sale next Friday, Jan. 27 at 10 a.m. local time (Rogers, Ark. at 9 a.m. local time) via Ticketmaster.com and presale access available to Church Choir members starting Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 10 a.m. local time (Rogers, Ark. at 9 a.m. local time).

Eric Church has added eight more shows to his Outsiders Revival Tour this summer. Huge demand to see the country hero has led to the confirmation of new dates on the outdoor trek in Charleston, South Carolina; Toronto, Ontario; Rogers, Arkansas; Orange Beach, Alabama; Saratoga Springs, New York; George, Washington; Atlanta, Georgia; and Charlotte, North Carolina.

The tour by the artist who claimed the Billboard Music Awards’ 2022 Top Country Tour was announced earlier this month, with Church promising of his first outdoor, and amphitheater, itinerary that he will see his fans in the “season of sunshine with some fellow outsiders that shine brightest when the sun goes down.” More than ten of the original dates sold out completely during their first day of public sales. The itinerary now embraces 26 cities across the US and Canada.

A wide array of guest artists will accompany Church throughout the tour, which starts in earnest in early June and runs until early October. Many of these will be on the newly-added dates, which are detailed below. These shows go on sale on Friday (27) via Ticketmaster, and pre-sales begin for members of his Church Choir fan club today (24). Eric Church Announces 27-Date The Outsiders Revival Tour

Eric Church announced his summer tour on Wednesday complete with a line-up of 18 support acts that he plans to rotate over his 27 dates.

Whiskey Myers, Cody Jinks, Jelly Roll, Ashley McBryde, Koe Wetzel, Lainey Wilson, Midland, Parker McCollum, Travis Tritt, Elle King and Paul Cauthen, plus Jackson Dean, Morgan Wade, Muscadine Bloodline, Shane Smith & The Saints, Hailey Whitters, Ray Wylie Hubbard and The Red Clay Strays will join The Chief on his amphitheater tour, which will launch June 22 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at American Family Insurance Amphitheater. Elle King will open the show – her only appearance on the tour. Church’s touring season ends October 7 in Bristol, Tennessee, at Bristol Motor Speedway for Country Thunder Bristol.

The festival dates don’t include Church’s opening acts.

“When I approach touring, I’m always inspired by a new experience, a new way to gather, to express ourselves sonically and visually,” Church said in a statement. “Whether it’s solo, in the round, double down; being able to bring a different perspective has always brought out our best creatively. Well, we have never done an outdoor summer tour. Never headlined amphitheaters. Never brought a summer experience to your town that featured artists we want to share the summer with. Until now. See you in the season of sunshine with some fellow outsiders that shine brightest when the sun goes down.”

Tickets to all dates go on sale next Friday, Jan. 20 at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.com, with presale access available to Church Choir members starting Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 10 a.m. local time.

Four-time Grammy®-nominated country performer Mickey Guyton will headline the latest installment of “CMT On Tour ,” produced by Live Nation . “ CMT On Tour Presents Mickey Guyton ” kicks off Sept. 18 at Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta, GA with a 22-city tour across major cities in North America including New York, Chicago, Columbus, St. Louis, Toronto, Washington, D.C. and more, wrapping up in Lexington, KY at Manchester Music Hall on November 9.

The tour announcement also coincides with the release of Mickey’s new single “Scary Love,” which she released today and can be streamed HERE . “Scary Love” showcases Guyton’s undying appreciation for motherhood and serves as a ballad dedicated to her three-year-old son.

Earlier this month, Mickey also shined at the 2024 CMT Music Awards on CBS, where she earned nominations for “Collaborative Video Of The Year” and “Video Of The Year” for her collaboration with Kane Brown on “ Nothing Compares To You. ”

Country Thunder Arizona: Eric Church's rowdy set closes with epic 'Springsteen' singalong

The party people came in from the Canyon Moon Ranch campgrounds for Friday’s main event — a headlining set by Eric Church, a Country Thunder Arizona regular who last played the festival back in 2021.

And Church’s entrance did not disappoint — a haunting verse of “The Outsiders” that featured Church starting off with an electric guitar as the members of his band strolled out to join him, kicking in at full intensity for maximum effect.

The man who gave us “Springsteen ” has assembled his version of the E Street Band at last, a stage full of musicians fleshing out his songs with the dynamic range to take you from a whisper to an epic wall of sound.

With 13 people on stage, Eric Church stirred up a glorious racket

There were three to four guitarists (depending on whether the multi-instrumentalist was playing banjo, mandolin, the dobro or acoustic guitar), a three-man horn squad, three women adding gospel-flavored vocals, a keyboardist, a bassist and a drummer.

It could’ve felt like too much of a good thing, but someone on that stage clearly put a lot of thought into the ebb and flow of those arrangements, allowing each song all the space it needed to find its own crescendo.

That's not to say there weren't occasions where they used that extra firepower just because they could, attacking the accents on ”Cold One,” for example, with the force of a battering ram (before the trombone player stole the spotlight with the most outrageous trombone solo most of us will ever see.)

On “Smoke a Little Smoke,” Church brought the backup singers and horn players to the front of the stage to show what they could do before ending the song on a high note with the horn section rocking the iconic stoner-rock riff of the Black Sabbath masterstroke "Sweet Leaf."

The setlist offered fans a fairly decent overview of Church's catalog, including such crowd-pleasing staples as "Country Music Jesus," "Pledge Allegiance to the Hag" and "Springsteen."

After setting the tone with "The Outsiders," Church introduced his breakthrough single, "How 'Bout You," with "Take you back to the beginning here. The year was 2005."

Country Thunder is 'one of my favorite places to come to,' according to Church

Church was clearly enjoying his return to Country Thunder Arizona, calling it "one of my favorite places to come to" as the set was winding down.

"Welcome to a gorgeous Friday night in the desert," he said in the first of several lengthy interactions with the fans after following "Country Music Jesus" with "Drink in My Hand."

"We have done this many times with you guys. We're gonna do it the same way, except only longer, harder, louder, maybe drunker. But you're gonna (expletive) love it."

And they did, singing along to classics touching on all stages of the man's career, from such first-album standouts as "These Boots" and "Pledge Allegiance to the Hag" to his latest hits "Hell of a View" and "Heart on Fire."

Midway through the set, he told the crowd he'd been out jogging through the campsites.

"I was watching all you guys play really drunken cornhole," he said to much applause. "I watched one guy throw a horseshoe through his camper window."

A surprise 'Talladega' and a 'Springsteen' singalong

The scene reminded him of childhood memories, having grown up in NASCAR country, leading him to dust off "Talladega," a song he said they hadn't done in a while.

The concert ended, as it had to, with a song from "Chief" that topped the country charts and remains his biggest hit.

"We're gonna leave you with this one because you want us to leave you with this one," he said. "This is what this whole environment here is made for. It's about connecting what's happening up here with your lives. And if the music connects with a memory, it'll last forever."

And with that, the stage was set for Church to make another memory while paying tribute to the power of nostalgia with a massive singalong of "Springsteen."
