Bottom Line

Located right on the beach, the mid-range Myrtle Beach Travel Park has 1150 sites, including rentable Ocean Villas and Travel Trailers. Rental units have fully equipped kitchens, flat-screen TVs, and full private bathrooms, while campsites have hook ups including water, sewer, and cable. However, many of the units are dated and have small rooms, and guests must bring their own linens. Facilities include indoor and outdoor swimming pools, sports courts, and a huge lake with fishing available. The seasonal on-site restaurant, Breakfast by the Sea, offers American cuisine for breakfast and lunch. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property, but the signal is weak in places.

Oyster hotel review, oceanfront campground with expansive, well-maintained grounds.

Right on the beach, the campground is surrounded by beautiful, well-maintained grounds full of trees, and has walkways out to the beach. Many of the picnic tables at the campgrounds have roof-style coverings for shade in the summer and there are birdhouses that attract local birds. A brick fountain sits next to a large lake and there's a wooden dock with bench seating. The lobby is dated, with potted plants, light-pink and green furnishings, and an old striped sofa. 

Beachfront location, with restaurants, shops, and golf courses within walking distance

The Myrtle Beach Travel Park sits on the beach, within walking distance of the Tanger Outlets, Arcadian Shores Golf Club, a Walmart, and a number of restaurants. The Myrtle Beach Mall, Barefoot Landing, House of Blues Myrtle Beach, and the Alabama Theatre are all less than a 10-minute drive away, while Ripley’s Aquarium and Broadway at the Beach are a 15-minute drive from the property. The Grand Strand Airport is 10-minutes from the campgrounds while Myrtle Beach International Airport is about 20-minutes.

Several different lodging options are available at the Myrtle Beach Travel Park, including Ocean Villas, Travel Trailers, and campgrounds with hookups for RVs.

The Ocean Villas are manufactured homes and include kitchens with full-size refrigerators, cooking ranges, microwaves, and sinks, as well as a dining areas with green laminate tables and wooden chairs. All have cramped living areas with sofas and flat-screen TVs as well as small bedrooms with tiny windows, light-wood furniture, gray walls, and brown bedspreads. Private bathrooms include shower/tub combos and the same green countertops as the kitchen and dining area. Travel Trailers have wood floors, tables with bench seating, and tan leather couches. Kitchens have microwaves, full-size refrigerators, ovens, and stoves and the living areas have wall-mounted flat-screen TVs. Small bedrooms have tan-colored comforters and tiny windows. Private bathrooms have brown laminate countertops and walk-in showers. No toiletries or linens are provided in either unit type. 

Campsites include 30- and 50-amp hook-ups plus cable, water, and sewage. All parking spaces on the property, including rental units, have picnic tables outside, and beach spots have pavilions over the tables for shade. Daily trash pick up is provided. A total of 11 public bathrooms with heating and air-conditioning are dotted throughout the property, each with about nine showers. All are clean and updated with blue, white, and green tile, and there are lots of sinks and counter space. 

Pool, lazy river, sports courts, on-site grocery store, and laundry facilities

Myrtle Beach Travel Park features a large sun deck with an outdoor pool, a smaller kids' pool, and a long, serpentine lazy river. There's also a big indoor pool with floor-to-ceiling windows and plastic chairs. Basketball and volleyball courts are situated right next to the beach, and there is a playground with climbing features and slides. Fishing is allowed at the on-site lake, which is full of bass and bream fish.

The on-site store sells grocery items and other camping necessities and there is a huge laundry facility with many machines and picnic tables inside. The seasonal restaurant, Breakfast by the Sea, offers classic American dishes for breakfast and lunch and gets good reviews. Ministry and nondenominational church services are also available, and each site has its own parking area.

This has been our 5th yr at MBTP and so worth the 2 days to drive here from Canada. We always try and go down the last 2 weeks of August as there is more availability and the campground is less crowded. This year we went the first 2 weeks, and it was packed! Even so, we always found a great spot on the beach, and always found loungers available by the pool. We travel with a 31ft travel trailer and book a pull through site. First thing we do after setting up the trailer connections is move the picnic table to under the trailer awning and hooking up the hammock under the wooden sun shelter. Now it's a vacation! We spent 13 nights this year, myself, husband and 4 adult children(22,22,18,17). We all love the fact that MBTP is located on a beautiful clean sandy beach and near so many activities close by. Putt putts, outlet shopping, great dinner shows, golf, and so much more. There are activities as well at MBTP most evenings, we really enjoyed the Hawaiian Hula and Fire show, as well as the Dive In Movie in the pool.. The bath houses are kept very clean, we prefer to shower in them than in our trailer, the water pressure is fantastic. The laudromat situated right next door to the camp store is great. There are at least a dozen washers and dryers, each load costs $2 for the washer and around $1 for the dryer(25 cents for each 8 mins). The only complaint I have is the internet signal strength is not good. If you want to access the internet do so before 7am. Even so, we will keep going back to MBTP every year, so worth the long 1000 mile trek.

MBTP is a great family campground. Rebecca and here staff do a great job with the kids and keep them entertained all day with great activties.Great Job. Close to the beach and pool.Nice level camp sites and they have everything you need right here. Can't wait to come back next year. There is very few golf carts so you can let your kids ride there bikes over the campground..

We camped at MBTP for the first time this year. We we reserved for 7 days but had such a nice time that we extended our stay for 2 more days. We found the reservation desk staff to be very friendly, efficient and helpful. The campground is clean and well managed. We enjoyed the on site restaurant, Breakfast by the Sea. It was so nice to not have kids running you down on golf carts. We would certainly stay again.

While we have taken our fifth wheel camper on numerous camping trips, we have never done a beach trip. Frankly we were nervous about bringing a lot of sand into the camper. But we decided to try and booked a week here for a last-minute trip before school starts. It was a fabulous experience! The staff were super friendly and helpful. Everything was exceptionally clean including the bathhouses. We normally only use our own camper shower but we wanted to rinse off as much sand as possible before entering the camper. The bathhouse showers were so clean, we started showering there daily. The pools and Lazy River also were very well-maintained and clean. And while there are golf carts only for the seasonal leases, it works very well for those- like us- who have young kids riding bikes. Security cars were visible every evening, making sure things were going smoothly. Our kids enjoyed the activities, though we were here to relax and kept a laid-back schedule. Only our minor complaint was that the Wi-Fi signal was rather weak at our site, but we were at the opposite end of the campground from the office. We've been to numerous campgrounds- and honestly, none have great wifi strength or bandwidth. Overall, the experience was terrific, and we certainly plan to come again next year!

We stayed here for a week at the end of July and had a good time. We were placed at near the end of ‘New York’ which was a little ways from the beach. My reservation was short notice and possible due to others cancelling, so I was ok with this. If I had planned and paid well in advance, I would have expected a better location. This was my first time camping at the beach and had to learn the ropes of securing the awning – bought some straps and stakes at the nearby Walmart and all was well. Things I liked: • Lack of golf cart traffic • The onsite store and laundry (plenty of machines) • Newer and clean bathrooms • The location (I prefer North MB) • Noise level – Was quiet day and night. Things that needed work: • Internet speed – not usable most of the day – just too many people on it. In defense of MBTP, I could not imagine the cost of service to size enough bandwidth for everyone – this place is massive! • Cable – most of the upper channels we snowy (not sharp). Not sure if it was my site connection or the area of the park we were in. Still usable and appreciated. • Pool area – not fun when it gets very crowded – needed to leave. Much better around dinner time. Pool could use a slide or two into the diving well. • My site had a power transformer box near the road to the left that prevented me from pulling forward and to the left at departure (would have hooked trailer tires on it). Had to back out the street behind. I am ok with backing my 36’ trailer – but think others that came for the pull through because they can’t back up would be upset. Surprised I was not told about this at check in – they knew I had 36’ and the site in front of me was occupied and the transformer was clearly not new. • Activities – My kids looked at the offerings and did not see anything that interested them….Maybe time to rethink activities? Maybe pole the guests? Overall happy and will return in the future - my notes are purely constructive and should by no means scare you away as my over rating is "Very Good'.

Quiet, clean, spacious, good location and well accommodated! It was an excellent place to stay! Every room was clean and in good condition. The only mild hiccup we had in our 4 might stay was one of the blinds got hung. Love being so close to the beach and yet so calm and quiet! Definitely on our favorite list!

The condo was very clean. We didn't mind the walk-up. Everything we needed was available in the condo. It was bright and airy. If it was warm we could walk to the pool or tennis court. Access to the balcony was awesome.

When we say easy, we really mean it couldn't be simpler, and this Travel Park has every amenity visitors need to plan the perfect Myrtle Beach vacay.

Myrtle Beach Travel Park is located in South Carolina and is one of the most well-loved vacation spots in the state. It has been around for over 50 years and continues to attract crowds from all over the country. Due to the subtropical climate, it has temperate weather all year round—summers are warm and humid, while winters are mild. Myrtle Beach Travel Park has direct access to the beach, is surrounded by old oak trees, and has 17 acres of freshwater lake within the property. Visitors can go camping right by the beach.

It has a community of regular visitors who have been coming back for years. Newcomers will feel welcome as the Park offers various group activities where everyone can mingle and partake in the festivities. The park has modern camping facilities, as well as villas and cabins where visitors can stay for a month!

Activities And Amenities

Visitors have everything they need for a fun stay at Myrtle Beach Travel Park. The park has the usual amenities that a park or resort would have, like pools and recreational spaces. They also have a grocery store, where guests can buy supplies and a 24-hour laundromat. Schedules are posted at various locations at the park and are accessible through the park’s website.

The park offers a ministry program. The in-house chaplain offers counseling, spiritual guidance, and crisis counseling services. Standard services such as officiating weddings, vow renewals, and funeral services can be arranged. Check with Myrtle Beach Travel Park regarding the availability of venues and the chaplain.

Myrtle Beach Travel Park is a massive property that has up to 450 mobile home lots, 75 cabins and villas, and 660 campsites. Since the Park is quite a popular vacation spot, reservations are highly recommended. Reservations can be made up to a year in advance. To reserve a spot, visitors must make a deposit to secure a site. Last-minute reservations may be entertained, but there are no guarantees regarding availability.

Here’s a rundown of the options:

The published rates for rental units are for a week, however, rental units are also available for 3 nights minimum. Rentals can be rented for up to a month. Call the Reservations Office at least a week before your intended schedule of stay to inquire about availability, and pay a deposit of $200 to secure a villa or cabin. Make sure to bring your own linens if you’re staying at a villa or cabin. Although the entire park is pet friendly, pets are not allowed in rental units; however, service dogs are allowed.

Wonderful family place

We had a awesome time while we stayed here , we rented a rv and another space for the rv of our own , very clean and nice and great atmosphere for families looking to come and relax and have fun

We are from Easley SC, decided to kick summer off In May with a trip to the beach and do some surf fishing. We had the best time. The RV spots are big with plenty of room to park, the bath house is one of the best I have ever seen, very clean and up to date. Plenty of hot water , water pressure, and private with plenty of room to move around. The presentation of the park is beautiful with plenty to do but not so busy you can't relax. The nights are peaceful. We took our dogs, Fishing on the lake wasn't that great, but still a beautiful view with wild life. We loved it so much we are returning for a week at Christmas and Kick off the new year 2023. Look forward to many trips here. Oh and the breakfast is awesome at the seaside cafe. The employees throughout the park are very helpful and friendly. The Meece Family.

Love this campground

Been camping ever since it opened. Love this place. Wish it go back to being able to picking out camp site like you use too. When your handicap it can make a difference on your stay. Renting golf carts can be a little pricey for retired people. But anyway best campground ever.

Great place for family to enjoy the beach without all the crowds. Super friendly staff, very clean and well kept amenities, have been spending our summer vacations here for going on 4 years and always look forward to returning. So many activities for kids, bike ride away from shopping, great for running through the park or on the beach. Can't wait for our next trip!

This was our first trip to Myrtle Beach Travel park and it was great.Campgrounds are well taken care of. It's a small community everyone super nice. We had ocean view and it was perfect! The weather and water was perfect. I will definitely be returning again. Fantastic for a family with pets.
