Star trek: what happened to worf's son, alexander rozhenko.

Star Trek: The Next Generation featured Worf's son Alexander Rozhenko, who returned in Deep Space Nine — what happened to the young Klingon after?

Worf's son in  Star Trek: The Next Generation , Alexander Rozhenko, returned in  Star Trek: Deep Space Nine  — but what happened to the young Klingon after? Worf is a Klingon warrior and a Starfleet officer who was raised by adoptive human parents, Sergey and Helena Rozhenko. Being a Klingon by blood but having been raised in a human environment, Worf occupies a difficult realm between two very different worlds — which makes his unexpected parental responsibilities for his part-human, part-Klingon son, Alexander, even more complicated and difficult.

Alexander was the result of a union between Worf and K'Ehleyr; the daughter of a Human mother and a Klingon father, K'Ehleyr was uniquely suited to be an Ambassador between the Federation and the Klingon Empire. Worf and K'Ehleyr became romantically involved in the  TNG  episode "The Emmissary," but after she rejected Worf's marriage proposal, the two parted ways. Alexander was the result of that union, and although Worf initially rejected welcoming Alexander into his life — due to the "shame" on Worf and his descendants due to him receiving a Klingon discommendation — K'Ehleyr's death left him little choice but to take responsibility for his son.

Alexander appeared several times in TNG ,   despite not being a series regular; however, he did not follow his father to Deep Space Nine, instead opting to live with Worf's human parents on Earth. Alexander's future was hinted at in the  TNG  episode "Firstborn," which featured an adult version of the character from 40 years in the future. Future Alexander, calling himself K'mtar, reveals that he travelled to the past with the intent on making his younger self a great warrior, in order to prevent Worf's murder in the future. While "Firstborn" reveals a brief summary of Alexander's life as an adult, a number of events occurred in  Deep Space Nine  that suggest this alternate Star Trek  timeline never happened: chief among these is the Dominion War.

Worf became a series regular on  Star Trek: Deep Space Nine  in season 4. His son Alexander only appeared in two episodes of  DS9 , although he was referenced in others (like the time Worf sweetly commented to Miles O'Brien that he regretted not having seen his son as a toddler). When Alexander does appear, in the season 6 episode "Sons and Daughters," he is now an adult — Klingon's age much quicker than humans do, so even though he's only approximately 9 years old, he appears as a teenage male. The episode's plot revolves around Alexander's misguided attempts to reclaim his heritage by enlisting in the Klingon Defense Force in order to support the Klingon war against the Dominion. He is stationed on the Rotarran, on which   his father is a commanding officer. Alexander repeatedly demonstrates that he lacks the "warrior" abilities Klingons value — but he tries hard, and eventually, Worf realizes his his son's brave spirit and willingness to try are virtues in their own right.

Alexander later appears in the season 6 episode "You Are Cordially Invited," in which he is asked to be the " Tawi'Yan"   (or "swordbearer") at Worf and Jadzi Dax 's wedding. The role is similar to being "best man" in the wedding party. The episode reveals that Alexander is still clumsy, but he informs Worf that the Klingon crew of the Rotarran has come to accept him as such, referring to him affectionately as a good luck charm. In the season 7 episode "Penumbra," Ezri Dax states that Alexander was made a weapons officer on his new assignment on the Ya'Vang and was starting to lose his clumsiness.

Although nothing in  Deep Space Nine  disproves the future described in  TNG 's "Firstborn," the path Alexander finds himself on as a young adult is unlikely to result in him becoming the same pacifist and diplomat described by K'mtar. Worf is still alive during  Star Trek: Picard , but because K'mtar was vague about when the murder was to have taken place, it's currently unclear if this is proof that Alexander's future was changed as a result of him (and Worf) meeting his future self. Worf has yet to appear in  Picard , although fans hope actor Michael Dorn will reprise the role for season 2. If so, it would be the perfect opportunity for Alexander to return to the franchise — perhaps on a crew serving underneath his father once more.

Catching Up With Brian Bonsall, TNG's Alexander Rozhenko

star trek alexander mutter

Brian Bonsall earned a place in entertainment history with his role as the impossibly cute Andy Keaton in the final few seasons of the classic sitcom Family Ties , but he also holds an important spot in Star Trek lore. Bonsall portrayed Worf's son, Alexander Rozhenko, in seven episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation . Bonsall quit acting in 1994 and eventually ended up in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. These days, however, he's healthy and happy, and performing music with his bands -- Lowjob and Bootjack & Bonz -- out in Colorado. He'll venture to Los Angeles in a few days to appear at The Hollywood Show, an autograph event that will be held April 8-10 at the Westin Los Angeles Airport Hotel in Los Angeles; go to www.thehollywoodshow.com for details. In advance of his appearance, the amiable Bonsall chatted with StarTrek.com about his music, his memories of playing Alexander and more. Here's what he had to say: Let's start with Star Trek . How did you land the role of Alexander and how aware were you of Star Trek in general at the time and specifically of The Next Generation ? From what I remember, I tried out with a lot of other kids, because I do have a strong memory of the casting office being very crowded. I had definitely seen the show a fair amount and the stage ended up being around the corner from the Family Ties stage, so there's a little fun fact. The producers wanted Alexander to be a recurring character. How often were you expecting to play him? I think at the time, all we knew was that it was recurring. I was very busy around that time with other roles, too, so I was always running around to different jobs.

You'll be at the Hollywood Show this weekend. How do you enjoy meeting the fans, signing autographs, posing for photos? Honestly, it's kind of new to me again after being away from that environment for so long. It was definitely super-neat to sign so much Star Trek memorabilia and to see the positive response from the fans. I even caught a glimpse of a couple of Family Ties tribute tattoos, and that was cool. I'd have to say I do enjoy it a lot.

Actor Jon Paul Steur, the first actor to play Alexander Rozhenko in Star Trek: The Next Generation, has died at the age of 33.

The child star passed away on New Year’s Day, although a cause of death is yet to be confirmed, according to the Willamette Week.

After beginning his acting career at the age of three, Jon’s biggest moment came when he bagged the role of Alexander in 1990, who was the son of Klingon Worf and Ambassador K’Ehleyr.

In 1991, he continued his career with a role in comedy series Late For Dinner, before winning greater plaudits with a turn as Quentin Kelly in the television series Grace Under Fire.

Despite his successes, he gave up acting altogether at the age of 12 to pursue music, and played in a series of bands under his new alter-ego Jonny P Jewels.

This series becomes dumber and dumber with hey-ho storyline.

The clone of Kahless condemned the invasion of Cardassia. He also seemed very tame, a figurehead. Doesn’t strike me as the blood thirsty type, regardless of his bloodline.

Star Trek: Voyagers Vulcan Vorik & Alexander Enbergs TNG Connection Explained

  • Aside from Tuvok, Star Trek: Voyager featured another Vulcan character in the form of Ensign Vorik.
  • Vorik's introduction added depth to Voyager's crew and impacted major storylines like Tom and B'Elanna's relationship.
  • Vorik's character was influenced by his predecessor Taurik from Star Trek: TNG's "Lower Decks," also played by Alexander Enberg.

Star Trek: Voyager 's Vulcan Ensign Vorik (Alexander Enberg) became a recurring character in season 3 and had a surprising connection to Star Trek: The Next Generation . Voyager 's cast of characters was one of the most diverse in the franchise at the time of its airing in 1995, and also included the first main character Vulcan since Star Trek: The Original Series in the form of Lieutenant Commander Tuvok (Tim Russ). However, Tuvok was not the only Vulcan introduced as a member of Voyager 's crew .

Throughout Voyager 's seven seasons, the show relied heavily on its supporting characters in addition to the main cast. Except for maybe Star Trek: Deep Space Nine , other Star Trek TV shows before Voyager focused on their main characters or a select few leads within that group . However, Voyager kept things interesting by introducing memorably recurring characters like Naomi Wildman (Scarlett Pomers) or Icheb (Manu Intiraymi) throughout the series. Within the cadre of guest stars Voyager brought onboard, Alexander Enberg's Vorik stood out in some surprising ways.

Every Voyager Character Who Has Returned In Star Trek (& How)

Star trek: voyagers vulcan ensign vorik explained, voyager's other vulcan became an important recurring character.

Vorik was a Vulcan Engineering Ensign first introduced in Voyager season 3, episode 13, "Fair Trade." Creating the character helped flesh out Voyager 's crew complement, and adding another Vulcan was a smart choice given how little Vulcans had been represented in Voyager 's sister shows, TNG and DS9 . Vorik was instrumental in some very important storylines, including arguably being the catalyst for Tom Paris (Robert Duncan McNeill) and B'Elanna Torres' (Roxann Dawson) future relationship after he infected B'Elanna with Pon Farr in the season 3 episode "Blood Fever."

Alexander Enberg, who played Vorik, had a strong connection to Voyager before he even appeared on the show as the son of Executive Producer Jeri Taylor. Outside of Star Trek , Enberg has done many small parts in other movies and TV shows, and more recently has worked in the special effects departments for a handful of projects. In addition to Voyager , however, Enberg appeared on another Star Trek series, playing a very similar character to Vorik.

Vorik Has A Surprising Connection To Star Trek: TNGs Lower Decks

Alexander enberg first appeared on tng.

Before Voyager , Enberg's first appearance in the Star Trek franchise was on Star Trek: TNG , where he played the Vulcan Ensign Taurik in the season 7 episode "Lower Decks." The episode focused on a group of junior officers aboard the USS Enteprise-D and was a departure from TNG 's usual storytelling in that it featured a group of largely unknown characters rather than the series leads. "Lower Decks" would go on to inspire the hit animated show Star Trek: Lower Decks which will air its fifth and final season in late 2024.

Given the similarities between the two characters, it's hard not to think that Taurik was the blueprint for Vorik on Star Trek: Voyager . According to the Star Trek: The Next Generation Companion , Taurik was the breakout character from "Lower Decks" and there was even talk about making him a recurring character had TNG continued for an eighth season. Jeri Taylor also suggested that Vorik and Taurik could be twins , according to Star Trek: The Next Generation 365 . Although this was a joke, it would be a good way to tie the two series together and explain Enberg playing both roles.

Star Trek: Voyagers Vulcan Vorik & Alexander Enbergs TNG Connection Explained

Alex3D

My name is Alexander Klemm (aka “nightfever” or “nightfever77” in the forums) and I am born at March,26 1977.

In the year 2000 I moved from Germany to Austria and since then I am living in the green belt of Vienna.

This is my priate blog where I will show you my big hobby: Modeling, Texturing and Rendering in Maxon’s Cinema 4D. But also image editing in Adobe’s After Effects and Photoshop. Before I started with CGI I built physical models of Star Trek starships and drawed images by hand (Fine Arts was my favorite school subject). All because I like Science Fiction and I am a big fan of Star Trek.

I began using Cinema 4D in the year 2003 or so. Because CGI and Cinema 4D was all new to me, I started with rendering other people’s models. In my gallery you will find most of these older images that I did but also the newer ones. On every image you have a credit to the modeller of the used models. A couple of years ago I got a request by the maker of the official “Star Trek – Ships Of The Line” calendar. He said he likes my images and asked me to contribute renders for his upcoming calendar. I declined because of the lack of own models. My claim was: When I do this, I do this with my own models. Later on I started to model. Under the categories ‘WIP’ and ‘Finished models’ you will find all the models building and built by myself and updates of my progress.

If you register and login you are able to leave comments on posts, download my models and receive email notifications when I am updating the blog.

Biography [ ]

Early life [ ].

In his youth, his father died, leaving him with "deep feelings of responsibility" towards his family, especially his younger siblings.

In High School , he was the captain of his rugby team. He won the team's "Most Valuable Player" (MVP) award in 2365 . In his senior year he was accepted into Starfleet Academy and had to leave before the final championship match. At the Academy he performed well, passing his classes, but he did have trouble with discipline, leaving several notes on his record. Despite this, he was assigned to USS Voyager , his first starship assignment, and Munro became part of the security personnel.

Aboard Voyager [ ]

Ensign Alexander Munro

Ensign Alexander Munro in Hazard team uniform ( 2376 ).

In 2371 , his first security assignment on board Voyager , was to find a renegade Maquis ship which contained an undercover Starfleet officer, during this mission the ship was pulled 70,000 light-years into the Delta Quadrant . After the crew had set a course for Earth, he served as a regular security officer aboard the ship.

In 2376 , when the " Hazard team " was created by Lieutenant Commander Tuvok , he was chosen as second in command under Lieutenant Les Foster . Only a few weeks later, Munro and the Hazard team were training in the holodeck in a simulation of a Borg vessel. After failing because he shot a computer panel when he lost his patience, the team "died" and the simulation ended. Tuvok told him that he needed to learn, as his battle plans were often " tactless. " Shortly thereafter, while Voyager was answering a distress call from an alien vessel, Munro came with Tuvok onto the bridge. When Voyager destroyed the vessel, the ship was pulled through an isodimensional rift.

After helping avert a warp core breach, and assisting in fighting off a raid by scavenging pirates , he led one of two teams sent aboard an Etherian starship to find out what was going on. After the dangerous mission with the Etherians , Scavengerssand the Vohrsoth , Alexander Munro was promoted by Captain Janeway to the rank of Lieutenant . ( VOY video game : Elite Force )

In 2377 , while Voyager was trying to get home through a Borg transwarp conduit, they temporarily entered a Borg Sphere . While inside, Munro led a team to disable the sphere, which they completed, and Voyager successfully returned to the Alpha Quadrant and Earth . ( ST video game : Elite Force II )

Return and assignment to the Enterprise -E [ ]

Munro and his friends and co-workers Telsia Murphy , Chell , and Austin Chang then reported to Starfleet Academy to receive their new postings from Functionary Stemmons . They were all angry that Starfleet didn't see a need for a Hazard team in the Alpha Quadrant, and split them up. Munro was assigned to teach Small Unit Tactics at the Academy.

In 2380 , while training with star pupil Korban , Captain Jean-Luc Picard was monitoring Munro's performance on a holodeck training exercise. The Captain found Lieutenant Munro talented, and liked the idea of an elite force of tactical officers to perform highly dangerous and hazardous duties, so he requested that Munro be transferred to the USS Enterprise -E , along with a staff of Hazard team personnel. The manifest included not only new qualifiers for the team, but many members that had originally served on Voyager . Shortly thereafter, he received his first mission. The Enterprise had been sent to respond to a distress call from the USS Dallas , where Telsia Murphy had been assigned. Unfortunately, most of the crew was killed, but Telsia and a few others managed to stay alive inside a transporter beam (a survival method pioneered by the great Montgomery Scott ).

Munro then requested Telsia's transfer to the Enterprise , where she became the second-in-command of the Hazard Team under him. It was then that he began reexamining his feelings for her, after fearing the worst when he heard about the Dallas . Because of the mission at hand, however, Munro was unable to commit to her. Over the course of the mission, Munro helped expose a race called the Attrexians as being hypocritical tyrants to the Idryll people. He also assisted in exposing a rogue Romulan militant group, known as the Empty Crown , which attempted to dominate the galaxy by use of ancient Idryll technology. His mission took him from the hull of the Enterprise itself, to a military base deep inside Romulan space. He eventually led his team to victory over the Exomorphs. ( ST video game : Elite Force II )

Alternate romantic endings [ ]

Munro had the option of romancing either Telsia or the Idryll doctor Kleeya .

Relationship with Telsia [ ]

Telsia munro kiss

Alex Munro and Telsia Murphy finally indulge in their feelings for each other.

Munro developed feelings for Telsia over the course of their time together. However, they went their separate ways upon being reassigned by Starfleet.

After Munro came across the ruined Dallas , he feared that Telsia was dead, and was relieved when he found her alive. However, while he did spend time with her, he was afraid of being with a woman who risked her life and therefore did not make any attempt to pursue a relationship with her.

After he and the team were victorious, Munro realized that his fear was irrelevant. He expressed his feelings to Telsia, and the two began a relationship. ( ST video game : Elite Force II )

Relationship with Kleeya [ ]

During the campaign against the exomorphs, Munro met a number of Idryll scientists who were briefly held on board the Enterprise . One was a female doctor named Kleeya , who credited him with saving another scientist . They started to spend time together when they were researching the exomorphs, and they even used Stellar Cartogrophy to show each other their homeworlds. Munro later comforted Kleeya after Krindo's betrayal and told her that she should talk to him. Later, Munro met with her and comforted her over her guilt over the death of Ensign Gonzales.

Upon the destruction of the Master Control Facility, Munro met with Kleeya and the two chose to celebrate the fact that the Attrexians had admitted that they suppressed her team's research. Munro asked Kleeya to come to Earth with him, and she agreed to do so. They then shared a passionate kiss and started a relationship. ( ST video game : Elite Force II )

Alexander donald foss.

Alexander Donald Foss passed away on April 11, 2024, in a plane crash at the tender age of 20. Alex was a remarkable person whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of all who knew him. He left an indelible mark on the world with his enthusiasm, kindness, and empathy.

Alex's journey was one of adventure and appreciation of every moment. He loved to travel with friends and often discovered new local coffee shops along the way. In the summertime he spent many hours on the lake driving boats, waterskiing, fishing, and swimming with friends and family.

Alex had a passion for running which started in junior high and continued throughout his life. Among the highlights to him were running and training with friends on his high school cross-country team, achieving a state championship his senior year, following the professional club Tin Man Elite, running with both of his brothers, creating a run club for newly hired United Airline pilots during his summer internship, and even making a trek to run on Colorado's Magnolia Road.

At an early age Alex expressed an interest in aviation. Flying came naturally to Alex and he earned both his private and commercial pilot's licenses. His hard work and hustle allowed him to earn a summer internship with United Airlines which gave him a glimpse at the life of a professional pilot. Through this internship Alex was able to travel to many destinations across the globe and he was always up for this exploration of new places.

Alex is survived by his parents, Jim and Karin Foss, his two brothers Andrew and Charlie, and many loving relatives. Though his time with us was far too short, the impact of his presence will resonate eternally in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Rest in peace, Alex, your light will continue to shine brightly in our memories.

Services for Alex will be at St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church in Plymouth, MN. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 27th from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm. A Celebration of Resurrection Service will be held on Tuesday, May 28th at 10:30 am, doors open at 9:30 am, and burial at Lakewood Cemetery at 2:00 pm.

Alexander was a resident of Platonius who, unlike the other Platonians , did not have the power of psychokinesis . He was a person of extraordinarily short stature who served as court buffoon and slave to the other Platonians.

In 2268 , the USS Enterprise arrived at Platonius after receiving a call for medical assistance for the planet's leader Parmen , who was suffering from a fever due to a leg wound that became infected. Enterprise chief medical officer Leonard McCoy later determined that the others got their power from the food native to Platonius which contained kironide , a substance that after being assimilated by the pituitary gland promoted psychokinesis. Unfortunately, since dwarfism stemmed from a malfunction in that gland that also regulated body growth, Alexander did not have the psionic ability.

When Parmen wanted McCoy to remain on Platonius after curing him of the fever, he also refused to let the crew leave so that they could be used as slaves, and for his amusement. Alexander agreed to help the Enterprise crew escape. McCoy synthesized the kironide and injected himself, Kirk, and Spock. They offered Alexander an injection, but he refused to get a dose out of disgust for his fellow Platonians' laziness and cruelty. Later, when the Platonians forced Kirk, Spock, Lieutenant Uhura , and Christine Chapel , the latter two forced to beam down, to each wear Greek garb and to entertain them, Alexander, disgusted to see the Enterprise crew subjected to the Platonians' cruel humiliation, grabs a knife and tried to stab Parmen with it but was stopped. Parmen then tries to force Alexander to stab himself but Kirk, observing, prevented it when the kironide shot McCoy gave him earlier had finally started to take effect. Parmen tried to use Alexander to kill Kirk. He forced him to try and stab Kirk, but Kirk, whose powers were now stronger, turned Alexander around and he again approaches Parmen with the knife. Alexander wanted to kill Parmen, but Kirk dissuaded him.

Afterward, as per his earlier request to Captain Kirk, Alexander departed Platonius aboard the Enterprise . ( TOS : " Plato's Stepchildren ")
