Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey / Redux [ ]

The password system allows one to obtain far more powerful demons prepared by others or to give to others by inputting a long code into the screen. A number of demons are inaccessible in the game without using their passwords. These demons don't count towards the Compendium . Due to breaking the code behind it, NPCs, enemies. and bosses that were not summonable in-game were able to be gotten via password, though they lack their boss specific skills. This includes the likes of ally NPCs like Jimenez or the final boss Mem Aleph .

Redux allows one to use the Password system to transfer demons from the DS Strange Journey to the 3DS Redux . The only exception to this are the NPCs, enemies and bosses that could not be summonable from the original Strange Journey . While Demonee-Ho was originally a password exclusive demon in the original Strange Journey , he made appearances in the Womb of Grief and could be unlocked for fusion after defeating Zaou-Gongen , making Demonee-Ho required to complete the compendium.

Certain demons are hidden throughout the game. Upon finding them a password must be entered to have them join the party. These passwords are in Japanese with the exclusion of DemiKids , where the passwords are in English.

The latest Shin Megami Tensei DS game to hit North America features a sophisticated demon password system, which utilizes special codes to unlock powerful demons to join you on your Strange Journey. I suppose you could consider these codes free downloadable content that's already on the disc, though there's no disc, and technically no real download either.

Here's the official Atlus description of the two special demons, followed by the passwords needed to unlock them. The passwords are case sensitive, so be sure not to have any cases laying about when you enter them. The base version of the Queen of the Faeries, Titania, has some powerful skills including Maziodyne and Mediarahan. But if you want something a little different, you might try out this special Titania, who trades what she has in multi-target damage and healing for more overall versatility: with Agidyne, Bufudyne, and Ziodyne, she can exploit three times the weaknesses, and if you're frowning at the lack of party-wide damage, well, is Megidolaon good enough for you? Call on this level 60 Neutral-Neutral demon with:

summon smt.queen

If you've got a Law party cooking and want a physical powerhouse, then Alciel, the Black Sun, may fit the bill. Another password-only demon, Alciel has some drawbacks-he's weak to physical and gun attacks, and you won't want to put him up against any Expel-users-but he has stamina and HP enough to survive the hits and the Counter skill to dish them right back. And that's when he's on the receiving end of damage; when he's dishing it out, his Hades Blast does heavy physical damage to the entire enemy party. Summon this level 61 Dark-Law demon with:

Over the past week or so, I decided to go on a strange journey down the Shin Megami hole. It’s dark, full of demons, and everyone down there speaks Japanese. But, Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux is easily some of the best dungeon crawling you’ll do down in said hole.

Now that I’m back above ground, I’ve decided to share a bunch of demon passwords from the many fusion accidents I’ve had. So, if you’re playing Strange Journey now (or plan on playing it in the future), be sure to check those out down below to get some decently powerful demons for early on.
