Bushwalking

Bushwalking has finally come to Vanuatu!

Pascal offers 40 different itineraries for various levels of enthusiast and ideal for those who just want to escape and experience the true feeling of nature. These walks are from one hour to a full day for 2 to 14 walkers and may include exploring the jungle, local gardens, river walking, cascades, coconut plantations, sunset walks with kava tasting and bush BBQs (on request). A visit to Lololima Cascades (waterfall and swimming hole) is one of Pascal’s many bushwalks and we can also book this for a private gourmet picnic for couples or groups.

Description

Nusumetu Eco tour covers a total land area of 100m+ hectares. This is mostly lowland and mountain forests with some patches of secondary forest.

The trek has around 50m hiking under the natural forest. However, there will be stops in between so the visitors should have some 5 minutes rests on every stops.

Nusumetu community still lives and practices the traditional life style where people still lives in huts and lives off sustainable farming. They still hold onto their cultural beliefs. The eco tour has 12 stops altogether along the way. During the 12 stops the guides will share culture, custom stories and myths and beliefs of the ancestors during the olden days.

The tour will also involves Agritourism where visitors to undertake a tour of the farm to engage in planting and harvesting of vegetables and root crops and also see how the food and kava is being prepared locally by the community members and get to taste it and finally end the tour with Tanna Custom dance. The guests will also see the Nusumetu mama’s weaving baskets using local materials and traditional way of making fire and more.

Blue Cave Adventures & Tours SITUATED ON THE NORTH WEST COAST LINE OF TANNA ISLAND, THIS TANNA ATTRACTION IS NOT TO BE MISSED!

Whether you are a keen snorkeler or not, you will be enthralled by the beauty of this place. Once you arrive to Blue Cave either by boat or road it is an easy swim into the cave, at low tide you can swim right under the rock ledge that takes you into the cave and at high tide you will need to swim underwater for a very short distance, where you will then come up in the cave.

The cave is quite large and has a hole in the roof that provides a beautiful light, which shines into the cave highlighting the blue water and creating great photo opportunities.

You do not need to be an experienced swimmer but if you feel a little nervous about diving underwater to enter the cave then you should visit the Blue Cave at low tide. Check with your tour operator to find out what times the tides are on the day of your tour. Most tours will not go if the sea is too rough as there can be some currents that do push into the cave when the sea is stronger.

Truly a magical place to spend some time, your tour operator will provide you with enough time to explore the cave and jump from some of the platforms outside the cave if you dare! There are also ladders that go up the cliff to a small area on top where you can relax in a hammock, check out the cave roof hole from above, talk to the friendly local family who own the Blue Cave or just enjoy the views of the beautiful Pacific Ocean. Some tours will provide food and refreshments, check with your tour company about additional extras that can be provided.

If you make your own way to the cave with a boat, yacht or 4WD an entrance fee of 2000 vatu per person is required to be paid in cash, otherwise all tours will include this entrance fee as part of the tour price.

The Blue Cave local owners are Daniel and Rachel Talap who are full of a wealth of knowledge about the area. They have also recently built a bungalow on top of the ridge above the Blue Cave where you can stay overnight and get even more time to enjoy the Blue Cave and nearby attractions.

There is also Accommodation situated on top of the Blue Cave if you wish to explore the Blue Cave more than once and stay somewhere remote and beautiful!
