About the Chief Uncas
The Chief Uncas was built for Adolphus Busch, co-founder of the famous American beer company, to enjoy cruises at his summer estate on Otsego Lake in Cooperstown, NY – the very headwaters of the Susquehanna River. After cruising those headwaters for 109 years, the Chief Uncas begins a new chapter in its life 400 miles downriver as Susquehanna National Heritage Area’s flagship tour boat! You can learn more about the history of the Chief Uncas here .

City Island
City Island in Harrisburg offers a full day of classic fun for locals and visitors alike including baseball games, riverboat rides, and panoramic views of Harrisburg. This island is a little piece of Americana pie that’s reminiscent of days past and the memories you cherished as a kid – something you’ll want to share with your kids today!
- Harrisburg Senators Baseball
Between the post-game fireworks and free fan giveaways, the unique location of this ballpark provides beautiful city views and refreshing river breezes. In the spring and summer, thousands of fans young and old root, root, root for the Harrisburg Senators , AA affiliate of the Washington Nationals, from their island baseball diamond. Watch the players take the field while you nosh on classic ballpark concessions like popcorn, hot dogs, cotton candy, and Cracker Jacks, and new favorites like Arooga’s hot wings. On the seventh inning stretch, take the little leaguers down to the Kids Zone which boasts a large collection of inflatables and games!
The Pride of the Susquehanna River Boat
The red and white Pride of the Susquehanna Riverboat can always catch your eye as it cruises along Harrisburg’s riverfront. It's one of six remaining authentic paddlewheel vessels in the country and a true treat for its passengers. Launching from City Island, the Pride welcomes you aboard for daily 45-minute sightseeing tours with 360-degree photo ops of the Susquehanna, Harrisburg, its bridges, and the Island! At night you'll find the Pride shining bright, hosting dinner cruises, taking sunset sails, and throwing happy hour parties before moonlight floats down the river. On Saturday mornings, the Pride becomes a floating classroom with the Susquehanna River School, a 75-minute cruise that teaches kids and adults about the ecology and history of the Susquehanna River! No matter how you experience the Pride, there’s nothing like putting your elbows on the railing and watching the water churn as you float around and soak up a great day.
- Pride of Susquehanna Profile
Fun is on par at Water Golf , a beautifully landscaped 18-hole miniature golf course perfect for friendly competition and panoramic views of the sunset over the Susquehanna River. The championship-style green is filled with unique and challenging holes, water hazards, sloping greens, and waterfalls that young and old and novice and experienced golfers can enjoy. The 60-foot walking bridge that connects two scenic bluffs is a perfect spot for a photo op. When you’re finished, have the losing team buy everyone a hand-dipped Turkey Hill Ice Cream cone!
Harrisburg Beach Club
If you're looking for a cool spot to catch a Susquehanna River sunset, view the Capital City skyline, listen to live music, test your curling skills, and sip craft beer or spirits, Harrisburg Beach Club on City Island is calling your name. Hungry? The Harrisburg Beach Club Food Truck serves up menu items like Island Wings & Fries and Bourbon Smash Burgers.
Located next to Water Golf, the outdoor waterfront venue can stay open most of the year thanks to pop-up igloos, a heated tent, and fire pits. The venue is family and pet-friendly. (Please keep your pup on a leash at all times.)
City Island Railroad & Carrousel
All aboard! While City Island is small enough to walk around, hand-in-hand, you can kick back and see it all from the City Island Railroad. This a miniature version of a Civil War-era steam train takes visitors on a scenic tour around the island. Between the train station and the ballpark, you'll find a beautiful antique Carousel whose painted ponies and quintessential music will transport you back to your childhood.

The Pride of the Susquehanna Riverboat is back on the Susquehanna River in Harrisburg and ready for the summer season.
It's the 35th anniversary of the boat.
It's one of only six remaining riverboats in the country with an authentic paddlewheel that propels and steers the boat.
The Pride was built in 1988 and replicates riverboats from the late 1800s.
More than one million people have taken a ride.
The goal of the Harrisburg Area Riverboat Society is to increase tourism and educate people on the history and ecology of the region.
In addition to public sightseeing tours, it hosts multiple special events and fundraisers throughout the year.
"We're bringing back princess and superhero cruises. We do wine and cheese. We're doing murder mysteries, music. You name it, we're going to do it on the boat, along with charters. We're actually doing three weddings," said Melissa Snyder with the riverboat society.
Profits from all cruises fund community service projects for seniors, children and veterans in Harrisburg.
The first ride for the public will be on May 26. The boat will cruise the river through October.

The Pride sails every day at 12 noon, 1:30 and 3 PM for its 45-minute (not 30) public cruises. The prices are $9 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $4 for children. They also offer dozens of different (and new!) types of cruises! If interested, visit *NOT DISPLAYED* for more info!
This is a great sightseeing visit to take guests of the Harrisburg area when you don't know what to do with them. Most people like the river view and this is the best way to see it. The Pride of the Susquehanna is a older style riverboat in vain of the gambling boats you always see on the Mississippi. It has the flipping circular wheel to steer the boat and 2 levels to enjoy the ride. The boat travels up and down the susquehanna to the Harrisburg border but not all the way down to TMI or anything, for about a 30 minute ride. It is usually a smooth ride where you can sit back and relax, let the wind blow in your hair and look at Harrisburg from the outside, asking yourself why it looks so much cooler as a skyline then when actually downtown. Tuesday through Sundays the boat leaves from City Island at 1:30pm and 3pm. The fare is $7 for an adult, $6 for a senior and $4 for children-- a great price to see Harrisburg from a different view. They also have private dinner cruises including mystery murder dinner cruise, italian buffet cruise, classic style dinner cruise, etc. Check the website for more info.
