Shimla and Manali are both popular hill stations in Himachal Pradesh, India, but they are not directly connected by train. However, you can reach both destinations by train and road.

1. Shimla: The best way to reach Shimla by train is by taking the UNESCO World Heritage Kalka-Shimla Toy Train, which runs from Kalka, a small town in the Indian state of Haryana. The narrow-gauge train journey offers picturesque views of the hills, valleys, and villages. The distance between Kalka and Shimla is approximately 96 km (59.6 miles), and the journey takes about 5-6 hours, depending on the number of stops.

2. Manali: Manali does not have a direct train connection. The nearest broad-gauge railway station is Chandigarh, about 320 km (198 miles) away.
