Blinking Indicator on Cruise Control
- Add to quote
On the right side of the cruise control display line there is a small, white indicator which is always blinking. I cannot find it in my owners manual. The indicator has two simplistic car symbols: upper left is top view / lower right is rear view; there is some diagonal between them but I cannot determine what it is. Cruise control seems to be working fine. Thanks

Come and go CC malfunctions usually mean your spiral cable is going bad. The ECM monitors the switches on the steering wheel and will throw codes if they go open-circuit. Since failing spiral cables usually make intermittent contact before parting completely, that's the sort of behavior you get.

Forward Collision / Cruise Control Shuts Off
- Add to quote
This is my first post and sorry if I word something incorrectly. Purchased a Loaded Platinum Murano a few months ago. Love it, however a small snow shower shuts down the forward collision camera which then shuts down cruise control. Dealer claims "no fix". We are in Upstate NY, and yes, get snow. I searched this forum but it appears there is no way of de-activating the forward collision system so that cruise control can be used (as a typical cruise control feature). Has anyone discovered a solution to this annoyance? If I was an engineer, I would attempt to devise a "shield" for the sensor so that small debris could not block the sensor / camera.
Have run into the same here with very very light snow...unfortunately I did not see a way to make the cruise work but supposedly there is a way...will test this weekend during our storm
There's another thread on this site that others discuss this topic. Look under "adapted cruise control " in the search area. Sent from AutoGuide.com Free App pic of had to remove clips
How to turn off Forward Collision Braking Yes you can do it. It's tied together with the Forward Collision Braking. Turn one off and they both are off. Think of it this way, the cruise control, collision warning and collision braking are all one system. You can shut it off but the next time you start the car it's on again. It's easy to switch it on and off, it's in the manual page 5-57. Turning the Forward Emergency Braking system ON/OFF Perform the following steps to turn the Forward Emergency Braking system ON or OFF. 1. Press the button until “Settings” displays in the vehicle information display and then press OK button. Use the button to select “Driver Assistance”. Then press the OK button. 2. Select “Emergency Brake” and press the OK button. 3. Select “System”and press the OK button. The Forward Emergency Braking system will be automatically turned off and back on when the engine is restarted. When the Forward Emergency Braking system setting is turned on or off, the Predictive Forward Collision Warning system is also turned on or off simultaneously.

Hello! I'm 3 weeks into my new Murano and I'm having this issue with the FEB. the sensor light comes on about 10 minutes into my drive and doesnt turn off. One time I was driving with cruise control and then the FEB light came on and abruptly shut down the cruise control. This is not ok, I dont care about the braking system, but I need cruise control. Sounds like others are having issues with these sensors too, enough that Nissan should recognize them as being defective. Anyone have any luck resolving this issue?
Thanks a different problem. That's a malfunction with the radar unit and needs to be replaced. Take it to the dealer. They're going to want to recalibrate the system. It's going to happen again. Take it back to them. They'll reset the system. It'll happen again. Take it back to them and they'll replace the radar unit. At this point, you can pursue a lemon law case. Depends on your state, but safety related items can be lemon law-ed after 2 attempts in CA. I know this because the same thing happened to me. The FEB warning popped up after 3-4 miles. They recalibrated and reset the system 2-3 times. Each time, the warning happened later and later (after driving 7 miles, after driving 14 miles etc). This happened every time I drove the car. They replaced the radar unit and it stopped. File a lemon law case and they'll offer a buyback or a cash settlement. If you're happy with the car, get a cash settlement and ask for an extended warranty through Nissan. They'll offer a few thousand. Ask for more money, citing the cruise control is tied to the FEB system and it disables that feature as well, not just the FEB system.

The Second Instance: I hit the highway last week on my way to Santa Fe and got myself to my typical 70-75MPH cruising speed. I hit the Cruise Control button on the steering wheel and the Set light was flashing at me. So I flipped the transmission into Neutral, turned off the engine, turned the engine back on, and put the transmission back into ...
Cruise "Set" light flashing. I was running errands on Saturday and, in the middle of my many trips, the green "Cruise" light came on and the "Set" light began flashing. This left me unable to use cruise control. The car also seemed to run strangely, but that could have been psychosomatic. Some online research suggests that it is the ...

I have a 2016 Murano Platinum as well. I had issues with my "Sensor" as well flashing for no reason saying there was a veh, but only one was in the other lane, or 2 lanes over. In the Spring, the Warning came on about Radar Obstruction & I lost the ability to use my Cruise Control (along with Hundreds of others per the Web).

Blinking cruise control lights can mean all kinds of weird stuff on that car. Could be engine overheating, low coolant, or some system specific problem that only the dealership can read.
