MAKING IT EASY TO FIND AND EXPERIENCE GOD

We realize that won’t be easy for everyone. Some things hold people down and get in the way of knowing God; decades-long hindrances that will not be easy to shake.

We know we are called to “take up our cross daily and follow Christ” and that the tough part is doing that ‘daily.’ But Jesus also said that His yoke was ‘easy’ and His burden was ‘light’.

The early church leader, James, told the leaders gathered at Jerusalem that “we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are coming to Christ” by adding extra rules, fences, and boundaries that Jesus Himself did not add.

So our prayer and hope are that everyone who calls Journey Church home would live in such a way that people would notice the way we live, and by observing us they would find it easier to find and experience God by our example.

A church full of grace for those who are searching ; that would go to any lengths  to tell a person that God loves them.

A church rich in compassion ; willing to open their personal circles to once strangers and watch what the power of love and acceptance can do.

A church that prays forcefully and worships passionately ; that fully depends on the Holy Spirit.

A church deeply  engaged in restoration, reconciliation and justice that lives effortlessly in  harmony and unity.

A church that understands sacrifice ; that pays the necessary price to see God’s Kingdom come.

A church so big in influence that it cannot be ignored ; it’s a Church that won’t be defined merely by its buildings.

A church that embraces the next generation ; willing to pour the Living water out of vessels they have never drank from.

A church that looks forward , not backward – not to things that are seen, but to things that are unseen .

A church that is forever and always outward-focused , with a heart for those walking toward eternities separated from Christ.

A church grace-filled for those who are searching and who will ultimately respond to the call of salvation with repentance, and go to any lengths to tell a person that God loves them. 

A church rich in compassion for those in difficult and hurting situations and is willing to open their personal circles to once strangers & watch what the power of love and acceptance can do. 

A church that prays forcefully, worships passionately, and is  fully dependent on the power of the  Holy Spirit .

A church that embraces  reconciliation & justice , that lives effortlessly in harmony and unity. 

A church that understands that the way of Christianity is the way of  sacrifice  and is wiling to pay the necessary price to see God’s Kingdom come. 

A church of  influence  – so big in influence that the cities cannot ignore it – a church that won’t be defined merely by its buildings.

A church that embraces  the next generation and is willing to pour the Living Water out of vessels they’ve never drank from, realizing the Gospel will take many shapes, and not just the ones we are comfortable with. 

A church  forward-looking not to things that are seen but to things unseen with a holy dissatisfaction with what has been and asking for what will be. 

A church that understands it is here to continue the mission of Jesus and is forever  outward-focused with a heart for those walking toward eternity separated from Christ.

We follow the 16 Fundamentals Truths of the Assemblies of God.

We want to live effortlessly in harmony and unity., we believe that women are also called to ministry., transgenderism, transsexuality, and gender identity, homosexuality, marriage, and sexual identity.

AUTHENTIC COMMUNITY

Becoming involved in small group life and meaningful friendships. Acts 2:42, 44 – “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” “All the believers were together and had everything in common.”

OFFERING HOPE

Praying for doors of opportunity to share the Good News of Jesus with everyone we see. Ephesians 1:17, 18 – “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints,”

PASSIONATE WORSHIP

Praying, fasting, giving, singing, kneeling, bowing, meditating, journaling, sacrificing, and doing all those things that ascribe worth to God. Romans 12:1-2 – “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good, pleasing, and perfect will ”

• JOURNEY’S VISION 2020 Vision | The Movement The church is not an institution or a building. It is a big movement with a big message that holds extraordinary power. The call of God for the church is to lend momentum to the vision and mission He’s laid on our hearts. We will not bail on the mission, no matter how tough it gets. God has given us a vision — to love a city — to stir a holy discontent with the way things are — to activate an imagination and generate an undying passion for the way things could be — to mobilize an army for God who will change the world. THIS … is our vision for 2020. WE WILL BE AN AUTHENTIC COMMUNITY INVOLVED IN PASSIONATE WORSHIP, PARTNERING WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT TO HELP PEOPLE BELONG, BELIEVE & BECOME WHAT GOD HAS CALLED THEM TO BE. We will provide opportunities and steps for people to get into groups so that 75% of us are doing life together. We will equip families with weekly materials so that 75% are engaged doing ‘Faith At Home,’ Biblically leading their own families and learning to feed themselves. We will pray hard and preach the Gospel with great conviction to see 6,000 people come to faith in Christ and 3,000 people baptized in water. We will tell 500 stories of deep life change and disciple transformation in every setting possible. We will pray for an attendance of worshippers totaling 5,000 on the weekend at all campuses. We will complete the Heart Of The House renovations for the glory of the Kingdom. WE WILL EXIST TO BE THE HANDS AND FEET OF JESUS, ENGAGING IN A REVOLUTION OF ENTHUSIASTIC SERVICE. We will serve without regard for others’ lifestyles, values or belief systems — becoming known as a ‘hub’ for hurting and under-resourced people, serving 40,000 people with the love of Christ. We will create a “SERVOLUTION” DNA so that 75% of us are involved in selfless acts of service, both on and off campus. We will send out men and women to assist 365 widows, elderly, single moms and people in need. We will equip and graduate 60 Journey Ministry College students and see at least 48 of them placed in full-time service for the Kingdom. WE WILL PUT INTO MOTION NEW LEVELS OF OFFERING HOPE TO SEE JESUS’ NAME SPREAD EVERYWHERE. We will put unprecedented focus on the 10/40 Window, funneling 1/2 of our missionary funds and efforts there. We will give with personal sacrifice and joy, asking God to help us give one million dollars to missions. We will ask God to open doors for us to be a five-campus, multi-site church, reproducing Journey Church to the North, South, East and West. We will elevate the value of compassion, encouraging and equipping 200 families to be involved in adoption, foster care, respite care and as Safe Families. We will raise awareness of and involvement in labor and sex trafficking prevention to uncommon levels, exploring the potential for a Dream Center in our geographical circle of influence. We will fully support the ministry of Christian Life School to see 900 students on campus and an expanded facility for classroom / gymnasium space.
