LEGO Builder's Journey cheats, tips - Essential tips for puzzle completion
Brush up on our tips for one of the best Apple Arcade games
Apple Arcade has been an amazing value proposition since release, but with each new game added to the line up it just keeps getting better, and the latest addition, LEGO Builder's Journey, just might be the best one.
It's a simple game that is so tightly designed and made that it could really give the Traveller's Tales LEGO games a lesson in how to use LEGO in video games. It looks good, works brilliantly, and is a late contender for Game of the Year.
Right here we're going to lay out some of the basics you should know before, and while, playing LEGO Builder's Journey. It's the kind of game where you are free to find your own solutions to problems, but something small in the environment might lead you astray. Brush up on these tips before playing, and you're sure to have a much easier time while playing through LEGO Builder's Journey.
The touch screen controls in this game are really quite simple. You can tap any interactable LEGO brick to pick it up, and you can drag on the screen to move it around. Hold it in place above any area with the trademark LEGO dimples to place it on them snugly. You don't have to be perfect, but certain bricks might require more precision, which can be awkward on a touch screen.
You can throw bricks to let go of them, or hold on an area which doesn't have rivets to drop it down. Tap once on the screen to rotate the brick, and tap on another brick to swap what you're holding. It's simple, but you'll find yourself getting mildly frustrated a fair few times.
You'll have the controls down eventually, and once you do it's a relaxing experience, just stick with it past the first few levels.
1 Building a path
Most stages will task you with building a simple path. The idea is simple, your LEGO character will hop from brick to brick, and you have to lay out the path before him. Simple enough.
Stages get slightly more complicated when you're essentially building a path to skate down. But again, as long as you take your time and ensure you path connects well, it shouldn't be a problem.
More complicated stages will usually give you a variety of LEGO pieces to work with which should continually spawn in, so you shouldn't fret about doing anything quickly, just ensure it works well.
2 No correct answer
The game gives the player a wonderful amount of creativity when piecing bricks together. Even when making a precarious path across a chasm, the game allows the player to place bricks wherever they please, as long the path you make is safe enough.
If you ever feel stuck in a stage, feel free to tear down all of your LEGO bricks and start again. Sometimes a fresh perspective is necessary, and you might find you want other bricks on top.
Though, in general, the bricks with more surface area should be nearer the bottom of a construction.
3 Tough terrain
Some stages will challenge the player a bit more with some difficult terrain to navigate, like the aforementioned chasms.
Some terrain will sink, other terrain will shift, and you will have to be careful. Some terrain may even force you to move quickly.
But in general, most problems can be solved if you place those large surface area bricks down on the bottom, to give your structures plenty of support when moving upwards and building staircases.

When I was little, I had a huge crate of assorted Lego pieces. New sets were all well and good, but once they'd been built and enjoyed, each in turn was dismantled, its constituent parts destined to become more fuel for the crate. It was a seemingly bottomless well of colourful, constructive opportunity from which entire worlds could spill forth, a single piece uncovered at just the right time bringing life to a brand new idea. Lego has been incorporated into dozens of games over the past two and a half decades, but none of them bring the magic of my crate to life like Lego Builder's Journey.
Each of the dioramas that make up Lego Builder's Journey is shaped by a single goal. On one side of each level is a stack of pieces denoting a child, who must cross the minute world in front of them to reunite with their parent on the other side. There is, however, no prescribed solution to any puzzle. In true Lego style, you're free to use the handful of blocks provided in any way you see fit, as long as you can complete your goal. Establishing a route from A to B is often an iterative process, but it's one with no fail states or wrong answers. As long as it does what you want it to do, your solution doesn't need to be elegant or efficient. If the pieces fit together, there'll be some kind of way forward.
As those pieces come together, they handle in a manner almost as satisfying as the real thing. Simplistic controls let you snap blocks into place. Piles of bricks rattle as you comb through them looking for exactly the right one, and flit seamlessly through different positions as you rotate them into place. It's an amazingly tactile experience, especially when you consider the level of detail on offer in each diorama, all of which are created entirely from pieces you might find in a set you've picked off the toy store shelf. Characters move by hopping from block to block, as they might at the hands of a real person, with the attention paid to every brick, shadow, and ray of light only building that realism further.
Even the story, a simple but enjoyable narrative of parental responsibility and childish imagination, speaks to what Lego has always attempted to invoke. For the greying parent figure, play gets pushed aside for the monotony of work, while for the child, the wonders of the natural world make way for the wonders of their imagination. A robot cobbled together from basement parts comes to life, turning the browns and greens of dioramas inspired by hiking trails and remote campsites into the vibrant primary colours of children's television. Even those themes, however, are threatened, twisted into a vignette of a classroom that draws uncomfortable parallels to the grind of the parent's factory job. A healthy dose of slapstick and childish naivety ensure Lego Builder's Journey never deviates too far from its toybox origins, but the dark, industrial nature of later levels ensures that its more serious ideas land.
While other Lego games have leaned with increasing regularity on the humour and bombast offered by enormous, child-friendly licenses, Light Brick Studios focuses on what it's actually like to play with those little coloured blocks. It's a subtle approach, but one that obfuscates the game's limited scope, and manages to capture everything from the imaginative freedom that Lego offers to the feeling of handling each individual brick.
Light Brick Studios focuses on what it's actually like to play with those little coloured blocks
Across the 35 levels that made up the original mobile version of Lego Builder's Journey, both narrative and puzzles gently twist and turn, picking up new ideas and dropping them again, all within the format of the brick-based dioramas. Throughout the earlier stages, the game's sandbox style persists, with the few levels in which there's a more defined solution often trying to highlight a specific theme. The guiding hand through the game's different ideas is subtle, which when coupled with camera controls that limit your ability to take in a diorama from all sides can lead to the occasional issue with transparency. The difficulty curve remains steady throughout, often relying on the complexity of the bricks you use rather than the puzzles themselves when it ramps up. When the original finale does arrive, it's an excellent capstone to story, theme, and design.
Unfortunately, the levels that come after maintain very little sense of that gentle progression. In a series of levels added for the PC version, a significant new approach is introduced. Rather than use complete bricks, these puzzles allow you to stitch together fragments or duplicate the blocks you've already made, adding an unwelcoming extra element of experimentation. Newly-implemented fail states are punishing and monotonous—in one instance a three-strikes approach wipes your progress and only takes you back to the diorama once you've completed a repetitive task. The increased complexity aligns with a far less transparent approach and a far less defined building system. The charm remains—the levels inspired by the imaginative, colourful dioramas from earlier on—and the dioramas themselves are as pretty and detailed as any of their predecessors, but it's hard to think of these less enjoyable levels as anything but unnecessary padding in an otherwise expertly-crafted game.
Within the beautiful environments and open-ended approach to puzzle solving, Lego Builder's Journey is perhaps the most authentic, earnest Lego game there's ever been, capturing every joyful aspect of its source material. From the sense of freedom that a pile of bricks offers right down to the individual bricks between your fingers, Lego Builder's Journey manages to recreate not just what Lego is, but what it can be. The attempt to build on its finely sculpted first half is unfortunately clumsy, sacrificing much of the gentle, open-ended approach that makes it so successful, but the way in which it captures with such care and attention something so beloved through its physicality and tactility, even in this virtual format, makes this a very special game.

Clever puzzles and excellent visual storytelling combine in what is arguably the best Lego game ever made, and certainly the most thoughtful.
Destructoid
Slightly above average or simply inoffensive. Fans of the genre should enjoy them a bit, but a fair few will be left unfulfilled.
LEGO Builder’s Journey is a very relaxing puzzler with some cool concepts and ideas. The game is incredibly serene, as its peaceful tunes and minimalist design are quite relaxing. The integration of ray tracing and Nvidia DLSS make for a visually stunning game. LEGO Builder’s Journey is refreshingly original take on the LEGO series, and represents a direction that I hope to see the franchise head in the future.
PlayStation Universe
The simplicity of Lego Builder's Journey is exactly why it's the most faithful Lego game of all outside actually putting physical bricks together. A smartly put together little story puzzler that showcases the power of creative thinking and play that is synonymous with the iconic Danish toy. The only thing that betrays its joy is the occasionally clunky controls in tight spots.
Push Square
Ultimately, the biggest obstacle for the game might be its price. $19.99 for this experience feels like a lot, even if everything being offered is perfectly pleasant. The story mode is nice, but not necessarily worth a replay. Creative mode is fun to tinker around with once or twice, but there’s just no hook to draw you back in to play it again and again.
COGconnected
LEGO Builder’s Journey is a comfortable yet original experience that separates itself from many currently available titles. Fans of the brand will be enamored by the presentation and how the gameplay captures the tactility of the toys. Unfortunately, puzzles are restrained, lacking the variety and imagination that permeates the brand. Although mechanics develop throughout, each segment is simple and lacks challenge. The awe-inspiring soundtrack and gorgeous visuals create an alluring level of polish. However, there isn’t a lot of content in this toy box.
LEGO Builder's Journey is an amazing experience, even more for players who own a computer that can handle Ray-Tracing. It's simple, efficient, charming and it even if it's short and has a few issues, can please anyone, child or adult.

Tour Itinerary
With the 1000-year history, Russia has had a rich portfolio of conflicts, battles, wars. On this Soviet tour, we'll talk about various wars that happened in Russia, focusing on WWII.
Mother Russia has undergone a lot in its long life. Since ancient times, Russian rulers have taken nearly all political power into their own hands. By the beginning of the 20th century, the Russian oppositional movement was deadly set for the total destruction of the ever-lasting tsarist regime. All of Russia got involved in the bloody revolution of 1917 in an effort to abolish the current state of the government and gain freedom for the ordinary people.
You will learn about the every-day life of the Soviet people during the bloody Second World War with the Nazis, including the legendary Battle for Moscow, the 900-day siege of Leningrad, the hardships that local citizens went through, the consequences of the war and the scars it left on the Soviet people, as well as why the Cold War happened and what was the fundamental reason.
Our mission on the Soviet Russia tour is to find out
- - How much this 1917 revolution cost the people;
- - Whether they actually got the freedom they wanted and was it worth it;
- - What happened over the next 74 years;
- - Who were the main political communist leaders of the Soviet Union;
- - Were Russians happy and satisfied with the Soviet Union?
Our tour itinerary will lie in most Soviet areas of Moscow, which are quite spread throughout the city, as very few of them are left. You can choose how much you are ready to live this Soviet life on a 5, 7 or 10-hour tour. Depending on the duration of the tour, you will see part or all of the places below:
If you want to extend the tour, you are welcome to do so by paying $20/extra hour in cash on the tour.
Time stands still in Red Square. The Red Square is the heart of Moscow (and whole Russia). Saint Basil's Cathedral will make your mouth drop. If it is from May-October, have a cocktail on the outside terrace and simply people watch! The massive square offers so much to enjoy.
Lenin's Mausoleum
The burial place of one of the most influential communist leaders in the world.
Revolution Square Metro Station
Rub the Soviet dog's nose for good luck and admire the 76 bronze sculptures, devoted to the passionate, strong-willed and patriotic Soviet people.
Poklonnaya Hill
The highest point in Moscow, where Napoleon waited for keys of the city.
All-Russian Exhibition Center (VVC)
With its giant arch, amazing fountain, and huge pavilions of different Soviet Republics.
Victory Park Metro Station
The deepest undeground station in Moscow and one of the deepest in the world.
Victory Park
For an open-air museum as big as 135 ha (1 350 000 square meters), Victory park sure doens't lack diversity. The park is dedicated to the Russian victory in WWII, and was laid out in 1995 in commemoration of 50-year anniversary of victory.
Stalin had planned for its construction already in 1941, being sure of victory from the very start of the war.
Greeting Hill
The highest points in Moscow (172 meters), where Napoleon waited for keys of Moscow in vain.
Triumphal Arch
Stunning monument consisting of 12 cast-iron columns, each 12 meters high, and weighing 16 tons. Built to mark Russia's victory over Napoleon in 1812.
Museum of the Great Patriotic War
In the city that is as much about wars as it is about victories, there is one essential stopover - the Museum of the Great Patriotic War (that's what WWII is called in Russia). Must-do for those wishing to understand Russia's past and look at the whole war from the different perspective - Russian.
The museum is not for the faint-hearted. Here you can see films about the partisan experience, the scenes that will haunt you forever (no subtitles, but they are not necessary).
Museum of Contemporary History (from outside only)
We'll have a glance at Russian life of the XX century in the Museum of Contemporary History , which houses bits of everything from Russian history of XXth century: from English club to a storage of Stalin's presents.
Memorial to the Holocaust,
devastating and breath-taking!
Unleash your inner spy. Highly recommended Bunker-42 , Cold War Museum , explore the place where Khrushchev lived during the Cuban Crisis. Go down 18 floors to a gigantic bunker under Moscow that was designed to withstand a nuclear attack. Watch a short film about the severity of the Cold War. If you lived through the Cold War, you will hardly believe it is possible that you are in Bunker 42!
Wander through Sparrow Hills and climb up to the highest observation deck of Moscow with stunning views of all seven Stalin’s skyscrapers, including Moscow State University . After that, experience the excitement of taking a river cruise on the Moscow river and catch the views of the Kremlin and Soviet times.
What you get:
