During the ride, our tutor explained to us what a field trip was and why it was conducted. We went to a zoological park. It was a different experience from classroom learning. We students grasped the concept much faster. The method of learning through experience was different. We could learn things outside textbooks.

This is done so that students can look into a particular topic from all possible perspectives enabling them to learn everything. It has also been proved that field trips are an excellent way for incorporating knowledge into young minds. This also helps students to learn and understand topics on their own without further explanations.

They help indirect learning and help students in finding things by themselves which is better than spoon-feeding information. This experience helps students to retain in their memories what they have learnt for a much longer period. 

Field Trip To A Butterfly Garden

January 1, 2019; New Delhi: A field trip to a nearby butterfly garden was arranged for the kindergarten students. They were all excited about the idea of visiting a butterfly garden. We took the school bus to the garden. The students were so excited to see different types of butterflies.

Students observed different varieties and their teachers helped them understand the different features. They studied the different stages of growth. They saw a huge variety of butterflies. The students were so excited. By the end, students started recognising the different varieties of butterflies. They learnt all they could about Butterflies.

Also, they used this experience for instilling in students the importance of nature. They understood that the reason behind why they could not see butterflies like before is because of the disturbances humans create in the environment.

They were also taught the importance of trees in nature. They pledged that they would not hurt mother nature and will prevent unnecessary cutting of trees. Thus, the field trip was successful.

March 2, 2016; Bombay: We students were looking forward to the field trips. We were eagerly waiting for the days to come. We had pre-planned everything. Every single detail was planned and everything was set. We were visiting places with magnificent architectural designs.

The different varieties of ideas used made us think about the brilliance of the architecture. The designs, mural paintings, the statues, and the engraving on the walls. For some of us, this was the first experience. We learned about things that one should think about before planning and executing architectural designs.

This trip also taught us about the importance of precision in planning a design. One should be able to foresee everything before starting the actual construction. The quality of the materials, the materials used and also how much is the design applicable in a particular place.

Since some materials cannot be used in some climatic conditions, one should take utmost care in selecting materials for the construction. The trip made us realise our potential and also the importance of planning and precision in our field.

Field Trip To A Cow Farm

September 5, 2015; Gujarat: This field trip was planned so as to make students understand how a farm works. On reaching the farm, students saw a large number of cows, of different varieties. One could see the huge machines used for milking the cows. The farm had a large number of workers. There was a veterinarian for weekly checkups.

There were employees cleaning the farms. There were separate employees for each pair of cows. Cows at this farm were given high-protein foods. The sheds were cleaned regularly to control diseases that might affect the cows. One could see the care given to the cows by looking at them. After the milking process, they are sent to a nearby plant for pasteurization and packaging.

There are special sheds for pregnant cows so as to give them special care. The calves are very well taken care of. The students could understand the importance of cleanliness and regular checkups. This experience made the students realise something new and made them learn new things.

Short Composition on A Study Tour

The study tour is a part and parcel of knowledge and education. It spreads the horizon of our mind and experience. our school organization study tour for us. I greeted this arrangement.

On the first day of our tour, we went to Mainamati and visited Lalmai-Manamati range of hills, Shalban Bihar, Ananda Bihar and the Museum. We found the museum decorated with bronze statues. They were the achievements of pala reign in Bangla.

On the second day, we reached Cox’s Bazar sea-beach. I was surprised to see the beautiful scenery of the sea-beach. We walked along the beach and enjoyed the musical murmuring sound of the sea.

We passed the next three days in the hilly areas of Rangamati and Bandarban and Khagrachari. We climbed up several hills and from the top of the hills, observed the beauty and splendour of the hilly areas.

On the 6th and 7th day we visited Chittagong seaports and Karnafuli Electricity Project at Kaptai. These places also offered us much practical knowledge; experience and pleasure.

My study tour opened a new world before my eyes. It has deepened and broadened my knowledge.

Model Answer 1:

Up and until I took a study tour to the University of Dhaka, the largest public university of my country, Bangladesh, the thought of having a study tour never really interested me that much. Today, I would like to talk about this study tour in a bit more details, which I undertook as a high school student about 12 years ago from now.

But, the University of Dhaka was quite far away from where I used to live at that time. So, when our school supervisor made an announcement to us that we were going to the University of Dhaka for a study tour, I didn’t really take the matter so seriously, simply because I had missed all the study tours prior to that one. Besides, I was more like one of those lazy high school student at that time who would rather have fun playing some kinds of video games at home instead of travelling quite some distance in order to see some “damaged palace” or some hundred years world heritage site in the middle of nowhere.

But, this time around, I couldn’t really evade it, as my parents really wanted me to join the other students in that tour because they wanted their “dull” son to become a bit more proactive and smart. So, finally, I also joined about 40 students in a large rented bus which travelled almost 150 kilometres to reach the largest and the oldest university in my country. After reaching there, I was very overwhelmed as I got to roam around such a huge campus with so many students, and so many buildings that had so much history with them.

Anyway, I really enjoyed the tour, primarily because, to begin with, it allowed me to see the countryside on our way, which was really beautiful. I enjoyed the tour, also because I and my classmates managed to take many, many pictures, and I just love taking pictures. Finally, this study tour was a very memorable one because it allowed me to see many famous places and spots at the university which I had only read about in books until then.

We went to visit Mount Everest a few years back as part of the study tour arranged by our college. It was the year 2011 and I was in the second year of my college at that time. Since it was in a different country (Nepal), we had to collect our visas to enter the country. From our country, we flew to the Nepal National Airport and from there we took a tour bus to reach the camping area near the Himalayas. After a few hours journey, we reached the camping area and we were very excited to be there. We were almost 30 members and four tour guides with us.

Personally, I was very much thrilled to visit the largest mountain peak and when I reached the camping area, I got awestricken. It is beyond explanation in words. The snow-covered mountain, balmy wind, the sound of nature, vast and wide area simply took my heart away. I stayed there for about a week and we did some mount hiking and fire-camping and all of those activities were really exciting and new for me. I enjoyed the nice vacation, natural scenery, companion of my classmates and friends. That was a relief from the busy city life and being close to nature. I enjoyed this tour so much that the whole week seemed like passed just like a fleeting moment. I promised to myself that, I will come back to visit the out-of-the-world place someday.

Study tour to a place of interest

How are you doing? I have some exciting news to share with you. I went to the Shat Gambuj Mosque with my college mates as a study tour. It was an amazing experience!

The Shat Gambuj Mosque is a very old and famous mosque in Bagerhat. It is part of the Mosque City of Bagerhat, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was built by Khan Jahan Ali, who was a saint and a general in the 15th century. He ruled over the Sundarbans region.

The mosque is huge and beautiful. It has seven domes on the top and four towers on the corners. The inside is full of stone columns and arches. The walls have terracotta designs and writings. The mosque has a simple but elegant style that shows the Islamic culture of that time.

We took a bus from Dhaka to Bagerhat. It was a long journey, but we enjoyed the scenery on the way. The mosque is near a river, so it has a peaceful and green environment. We spent a couple of hours there, exploring the mosque and learning about its history. We also saw the tomb of Khan Jahan Ali, who is buried nearby. He is respected as a saint by the people there. They say he had some crocodiles as his pets, and we saw some of them in a pond next to his tomb.

I loved visiting the Shat Gambuj Mosque. It made me appreciate the rich heritage of our country. I felt a sense of wonder and gratitude as I prayed in the mosque. I also liked seeing the river and the nature around it. It was a memorable and educational trip for me.

A Teacher’s 10-Step Guide to Planning The Perfect Educational Tour

The benefits of experiential learning and education outside the classroom has been well-documented. Teachers frequently report that students who participate in experiential trips are more motivated to learn and more likely seek further educational opportunities. Yet, some teachers choose not to plan trips because the responsibilities and administrative burdens can seem daunting. Below, we’ve broken down the process to dilute the perception of complexity. Take thoughtful consideration of each step and you’re well on your way to organizing a successful trip!

Step 1. How does this fit into your curriculum?

Before getting started with the nitty gritty of your educational trip, it’s important to consider the bigger picture. Ask, “what are the educational objectives you’re trying to achieve?” and “what added value can this bring to my students?”

Setting clear and well-defined goals, strategies, and rationales, will help you understand what will be gained from field studies. For example, choosing to frame your trip around a central theme that aligns with course goals helps to keep the experience focused.

Step 2. Where do you want to travel?

According to a World Youth Student & Education (WYSE) study , location and nature of the program are the two most important factors for youth travellers deciding to go abroad. The ideal destination is at the intersection of logistical possibilities and course objectives. For instance, consider why this location is suitable for the particular course theme you wish to highlight.

Even if you already know where you would like to go, don’t be afraid to seek advice where needed. If this is your first stab at organizing a field trip, it is a good idea to consult student travel companies and connect with local organizations at the destination.

Step 3. When do you want to travel?

Planning an effective and successful trip is a time-consuming process, so begin early to ensure you have plenty of time to make the appropriate arrangements.

Whether you’re thinking about a trip during summer vacation or winter break, have a few date options available. If possible, be flexible with your dates, especially if you’re planning to travel during high season. Travelling on irregular days or times is an excellent way to cut costs (Scott McCartney of the Wall Street Journal suggests mid-week, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)!

Step 4. How many students will you be travelling with?

The size of your group directly correlates with how much supervision assistance you will need. This may, in large part, depend on the amount of interest that the field opportunity garners, as well as the associated financial costs.

In addition to the number of student participants, also think about the composition of the group, or the specific traits of your students in relation to the nature of the educational tour. It goes without saying, smaller groups are generally easier to handle, as are more mature students.

Step 5.What activities do you want to partake in?

Are there certain landmarks or cultural sites that can only be experienced at this destination? How about arranging presentations from local speakers and organizations? A good firm will help you streamline the process, providing you with resources for visas applications, vaccination requirements, insurance requirements, and travel advisories. Pro tip: an advantage of consulting with locally developed organizations is being able to lean on their expert know-how of the region (which is vital for safety considerations).

Step 7.What are the financial logistics?

A lack of financial resources is the number one (80%) cited barrier for teachers who do not organize trips (as reported by the Student & Youth Travel Digest). Before scrapping your project entirely, carefully scrutinize whether you have pursued all possible sources of funding. Scout out external funding opportunities from university departments or government grants. Fundraising can also be another option to reduce costs.

Here, seeking outside advice from your tour company and administrators is one way to make the most of your funds and maximize your budget.

Step 8. Get the OK from school administrators.

Most universities will have a travel abroad policy and set of safety guidelines that must be followed. 97% of Canadian universities offer education abroad programs and 82% of Canadian colleges and institutes offer education abroad. Be sure to reach out to faculty members and staff to get approval for the project and address additional concerns.

Step 9.Specify and communicate expectations to your students.

Articulate the goals, benefits and the rationale for participating in the educational tour so that your students know how to get the best out of their experience. Step 10.Get your students excited to participate!

This all might sound quite overwhelming but if you can pull it off, the experience is immensely rewarding! The Canadian Bureau for International Education reports that 90% students that took an educational trip abroad gained greater cultural awareness and understanding, as well as knowledge of the host country. 87% also noted openness to difference as a major takeaway from their experience. A Study Tour

The study tour is a part and parcel of knowledge and education. There are many sources of entertainment and tour is one of them. It gives us much pleasure and removes our monotony. It spreads the horizon of our minds and experience. Study tours play an important role in educating students in a practical and interesting manner. Our school organization study tour for us. I greeted this arrangement.

On the first day of our tour, we went to Mainamati and visited the Lalmai-Manamati range of hills, Shalban Bihar, Ananda Bihar, and the Museum. We found the museum decorated with bronze statues. They were the achievements of pala reign in Bangla.

On the second day, we reached Cox’s Bazar sea-beach. I was surprised to see the beautiful scenery of the sea-beach. The next day, we went to the sea-beach. We became astonished by the natural scenery of the sea-beach. We walked along the beach and enjoyed the musical murmuring sound of the sea. Swimming, horse riding, boat riding, photographing, etc. were very charming. The most attractive thing was to see the sunset. After seeing the sunset, we went to Cox’s Bazar town in the evening. We enjoyed everything very much.

We passed the next three days in the hilly areas of Rangamati and Bandarban and Khagrachari. We visited many tourists’ spots and gathered much knowledge. We returned home after three days. We climbed up several hills and from the top of the hills, observed the beauty and splendor of the hilly areas.

On the 6th and 7th day we visited Chittagong seaports and Karnafuli Electricity Project at Kaptai. These places also offered us much practical knowledge; experience and pleasure. After visiting these places we came to the conclusion that our country has really rich cultural heritage. The temples gave us the idea of a glorious past of Indian art and architecture. We gathered enormous knowledge during our travel.

There is no doubt that such tours have great educational value and there must such occasions in the life of every student. My study tour opened a new world before my eyes. It has deepened and broadened my knowledge. Students should also participate in such tours. For this, staff can give a brief on the places they are going to visit and the importance of those places. This creates curiosity in the minds of students. It was really a memorable study tour.

At first, take my cordial love. Hope you are well. I am well too. Today, I am going to tell you about a study tour we enjoyed last Sunday. Our college arranged a study tour to Bagerhat located in Khulna. We want there on our college buses. We were 500 in numbers. Our teachers were accompanied us. We started our journey from our college at 7 am and reached Bagerhat at 10 am. At first we went to the Mazar of Khan Jahan Ali. It is a fine one-storeyed. building where Khan Jahan Ali was buried. Then we went to the Dighi of Khan Jahan Ali. It is a big tank. We saw some crocodiles in the tank. After seeing the Dighi we went to a big hotel. We took our lunch there. After taking our lunch we went to the Shatgambuj Mosque. We were marveled to see it. Actually the Mosque has 77 domes. Then we visited the Ghora Dhighi, another big tank. It is said that a horse was made to run before its digging. We learn many things from visiting historical places. We had really good time. We returned home at 10 pm.

Whether you’re a student or a professional, a visit report helps you document the procedures and processes at an industrial or corporate location. These reports are fairly straightforward. Describe the site first and explain what you did while you were there. If required, reflect on what you learned during your visit. No additional research or information is needed.

Writing a Visit Report

Explain the site's purpose, operations, and what happened during the visit. Identify the site's strengths and weaknesses, along with your recommendations for improvement. Include relevant photos or diagrams to supplement your report.

Describing the Site

• Reports are usually only 2-3 pages long, but in some cases, these reports may be much longer.
• In some cases, you may be asked to give recommendations or opinions about the site. In other cases, you will be asked only to describe the site.
• Ask your boss or instructor for models of other visit reports. If you can't get a model, look up samples online.

• If you visited a factory, explain what it is producing and what equipment it uses.
• If you visited a construction site, describe what is being constructed and how far along the construction is. You should also describe the terrain of the site and the layout.
• If you’re visiting a business, describe what the business does. State which department or part of the business you visited.
• If you’re visiting a school, identify which grades they teach. Note how many students attend the school. Name the teachers whose classes you observed.

• Who did you talk to? What did they tell you?
• What did you see at the site?
• What events took place? Did you attend a seminar, Q&A session, or interview?
• Did you see any demonstrations of equipment or techniques?

• For example, at a car factory, describe whether the cars are made by robots or humans. Describe each step of the assembly line.
• If you're visiting a business, talk about different departments within the business. Describe their corporate structure and identify what programs they use to conduct their business.

Reflecting on Your Visit

• Is there something you didn’t realize before that you learned while at the site?
• Who at the site provided helpful information?
• What was your favorite part of the visit and why?

• For example, you might state that the factory uses the latest technology but point out that employees need more training to work with the new equipment.
• If there was anything important left out of the visit, state what it was. For example, maybe you were hoping to see the main factory floor or to talk to the manager.

• Tailor your recommendations to the organization or institution that owns the site. What is practical and reasonable for them to do to improve their site?
• Be specific. Don’t just say they need to improve infrastructure. State what type of equipment they need or give advice on how to improve employee morale.

Formatting Your Report

• If you are following a certain style guideline, like APA or Chicago style, make sure to format the title page according to the rules of the handbook.

• Don’t just say “the visit was interesting” or “I was bored.” Be specific when describing what you learned or saw.

Study tour is very helpful to widen far the wisdom of a person. It assists us to see the unseen, to know the unknown and to explore the unexplored. In the last winter, we, the students of Comilla Zilla School arranged a study tour. We decided to go to Sonargaon, a historical site of our country. We were 200 students. Our English teacher Mr. Jamaluddin and Bengali Madam Sabria Jaman accompanied us. Four big luxurious buses were hired for this purpose. On the fixed day, we started our journey at 8 a.m. from our school premises. The sights on either side of the road were very charming. After a long journey, we reached our destination at about 10.30 a.m. In the spot, we visited the Folk art Museum and Joynul Abedin Memorial Museum. Then we visited the prominent ancient city, Panamnagarsa. We also saw the 'Mazar' and 'Dighi' of Sona Bibi. All these things gave us much pleasure. But a these the worth-seeing ancient Islamic architecture charmed me most. However, after staying there for about five hours. we returned our school at 5.00 p.m. Indeed, the day was very enjoyable to us and we gathered some new experience from this study tour.

Scenes of flood-ravaged neighborhoods in one of the planet’s driest regions have stunned the world this week. Heavy rains in the United Arab Emirates and Oman submerged cars, clogged highways and killed at least 21 people. Flights out of Dubai’s airport, a major global hub, were severely disrupted.

The downpours weren’t a freak event — forecasters anticipated the storms several days out and issued warnings. But they were certainly unusual. Here’s what to know.

Heavy rain there is rare, but not unheard-of.

On average, the Arabian Peninsula receives a scant few inches of rain a year, although scientists have found that a sizable chunk of that precipitation falls in infrequent but severe bursts, not as periodic showers.

U.A.E. officials said the 24-hour rain total on Tuesday was the country’s largest since records there began in 1949 . But parts of the nation had experienced an earlier round of thunderstorms just last month.

Oman, with its coastline on the Arabian Sea, is also vulnerable to tropical cyclones. Past storms there have brought torrential rain, powerful winds and mudslides, causing extensive damage.

Global warming is projected to intensify downpours.

Stronger storms are a key consequence of human-caused global warming. As the atmosphere gets hotter, it can hold more moisture, which can eventually make its way down to the earth as rain or snow.

But that doesn’t mean rainfall patterns are changing in precisely the same way across every corner of the globe.

In their latest assessment of climate research , scientists convened by the United Nations found there wasn’t enough data to have firm conclusions about rainfall trends in the Arabian Peninsula and how climate change was affecting them. The researchers said, however, that if global warming were to be allowed to continue worsening in the coming decades, extreme downpours in the region would quite likely become more intense and more frequent.

The role of cloud seeding isn’t clear.

The U.A.E. has for decades worked to increase rainfall and boost water supplies by seeding clouds. Essentially, this involves shooting particles into clouds to encourage the moisture to gather into larger, heavier droplets, ones that are more likely to fall as rain or snow.

Cloud seeding and other rain-enhancement methods have been tried across the world, including in Australia, China, India, Israel, South Africa and the United States. Studies have found that these operations can, at best, affect precipitation modestly — enough to turn a downpour into a bigger downpour, but probably not a drizzle into a deluge.

Still, experts said pinning down how much seeding might have contributed to this week’s storms would require detailed study.

“In general, it is quite a challenge to assess the impact of seeding,” said Luca Delle Monache, a climate scientist at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in La Jolla, Calif. Dr. Delle Monache has been leading efforts to use artificial intelligence to improve the U.A.E.’s rain-enhancement program.

An official with the U.A.E.’s National Center of Meteorology, Omar Al Yazeedi, told news outlets this week that the agency didn’t conduct any seeding during the latest storms. His statements didn’t make clear, however, whether that was also true in the hours or days before.

Mr. Al Yazeedi didn’t respond to emailed questions from The New York Times on Thursday, and Adel Kamal, a spokesman for the center, didn’t immediately have further comment.

Cities in dry places just aren’t designed for floods.

Wherever it happens, flooding isn’t just a matter of how much rain comes down. It’s also about what happens to all that water once it’s on the ground — most critically, in the places people live.

Cities in arid regions often aren’t designed to drain very effectively. In these areas, paved surfaces block rain from seeping into the earth below, forcing it into drainage systems that can easily become overwhelmed.

One recent study of Sharjah , the capital of the third-largest emirate in the U.A.E., found that the city’s rapid growth over the past half century had made it vulnerable to flooding at far lower levels of rain than before.
