Vasco da Gama—the largest city in the state of Goa —is named after a Portuguese explorer who ventured to India in 1524. Also on India’s west coast, Mumbai is home to Art Deco and Victorian architecture and is 360 miles (579 kilometers) away.

The quickest method of transportation from Vasco da Gama to Mumbai is by plane. An inexpensive way of getting between the two cities is by train , but it will take a lot longer, as would going by car or bus.

What Is the Cheapest Way to Get From Goa to Mumbai?

The train is the least expensive way to get from Goa to Mumbai. For about $3, you can take an Indian Railways train from the Vasco da Gama railway station to Mumbai. Check in with the train company in advance as the train typically only leaves once a week. The journey, which takes about 13 hours, 10 minutes, includes a short transfer at Kalyan Junction railway station, where you will board a second train leaving every 15 minutes for Dadar railway station. If you plan to use local trains while in Mumbai, the network has three lines running from north to south.

During the monsoon season from mid-June until October, the train schedule may be altered and delays may take place.

What Is the Fastest Way to Get From Goa to Mumbai?

Flying is the quickest way to get from Vasco da Gama's Goa Dabolim Airport (GOI) to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) in Mumbai. The flight takes about one hour, 20 minutes. Several carriers fly this route throughout the week, including IndiGo Airlines, Air India Limited, GoAir, AirAsia India, Spicejet, and Vistara. Tickets start at $30 one way and purchasing in advance is always a good idea.

How Long Does It Take to Drive?

Driving from Vasco da Gama to Mumbai typically takes about eight hours, 30 minutes but can span up to 12 hours, depending on the route, the number of stops, and how fast you drive. The trip is 360 miles (579 kilometers). There are a few possible routes, like taking National Highway 66 to National Highway 48, or taking National Highway 66 the whole way as you head north. Both of these routes have tolls.

Mumbai has many public parking lots, which can be found using an app . Avoid parking illegally on the streets close to these lots, as you may receive a high fine. Travelers may prefer to use a rideshare service such as Uber or Ola or grab a taxi.

Is There a Bus That Goes From Goa to Mumbai?

The bus from Goa to Mumbai takes about 13 hours. Prices with RedBus begin at $8 one way. Travelers will first need to take transport such as a taxi, which takes approximately 30 minutes, to Panaji, the capital of Goa. From there, buses depart hourly to various locations in Mumbai.

When Is the Best Time to Travel to Mumbai?

Between November and April is the best time for a trip to Mumbai, as the weather is dry, though in April it begins to be hotter and more humid. Sea breezes usually keep the temperatures down. However, airplane tickets and accommodations may be higher during these times, especially when events and festivals occur. The Mumbai Academy of the Moving Image (MAMI) Film Festival takes place around late October or early November (note it has been canceled for 2020). At the end of January or early February, the Elephanta Festival features music and dance on Elephanta Island, a ferry ride away from Mumbai.

What's the Most Scenic Route to Mumbai?

Driving is the most scenic route from Vasco da Gama. The cultural capital of Maharashtra, the city of Pune off National Highway 48 features the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Western Ghats mountains. Visitors can also check out ancient temples at Parvati Hill and choose from an array of museums. Satara to the southeast of Pune along National Highway 48 is a nice stop to see the 16th-century Ajinkyatara fort or Shri Koteshwar Mandir, a Hindu temple, among other historic sites.

Further toward Mumbai, adventurers heading on National Highway 66 can take a ferry from the town of Ribandar to Chorão, an island featuring Portuguese homes, village churches, and the Dr. Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary.

Can I Use Public Transportation to Travel From the Airport?

You have a few options for getting from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport(BOM) to Mumbai. The airport and  Colaba , the principal tourist district in South Mumbai, are up to two hours apart. Going early in the morning or late at night when there is less traffic will get you there a lot quicker. Taxis and rideshares are the easiest ways to get to the city. Companies such as TravelGujju, One Side Taxi, and Meera Cabs will cost about $9 one way. Rideshares like Uber and Ola are usually available (prices vary), or you may reserve a Jayride towncar, starting at $25 one way.

Note: Though they use the same runway, the international and domestic terminals are in different suburbs. The international terminal is at Sahar in Andheri East 19 miles (30 kilometers) from the city center. Santa Cruz, home to the domestic terminal, is 15 miles (24 kilometers) from the heart of Mumbai.

What Is There to Do in Mumbai?

It is also fun to look around local neighborhoods such as the Fort district in South Mumbai, which is home to some noteworthy Victorian Gothic buildings. Tourists enjoy learning about the city through educational tours —from urban safaris to street food samplings to learning all about the Bollywood film industry, which is based here. It is also fun to explore early-morning markets .

Mumbai is 360 miles (579 kilometers) from Goa.

The flight takes one hour and 20 minutes.

From Mumbai to Goa: a journey aboard The Mandovi Express

After departing mumbai, providing glimpses of india’s largest city in all its guts and glory, the 12-hour mandovi express heads southwards down the coast towards the tropical idyll of goa..

While her children nap, a passenger watches a TV show on the Mandovi Express from Mumbai ...

While her children nap, a passenger watches a TV show on the Mandovi Express from Mumbai to Madgaon in Goa.

With the same level of joy I felt on my wedding day, I’m eyeing the saucer of chicken curry coming out of the kitchen and rolling up my sleeves in anticipation. It’s chicken masala fry, to be precise, a leg portion pooling in rich gravy flecked with coriander with strips of raw onion, lemon quarters and green chillies on the side. I’ve been coming to Olympia Coffee House in Mumbai’s Colaba neighbourhood for more than 10 years, although the beloved spot has been around since 1918. In truth, jet-lagged and in search of breakfast, I came for its kheema pav curry, but it had sold out by 10am. But my dish is an excellent consolation. Wiping up the remnants with buttery roti, my fingers turmeric-tinged and stinging, I pay a bill of barely £2 and stroll out onto Colaba Causeway, making a beeline towards a Fabindia clothing shop to buy dhoti trousers for the train ride to Goa.

Bombay to some, Mumbai to others, the seven jungled islands that make up the city are like a thousand cities condensed into one. Banyan trees spread their roots around art deco buildings and moss grows on multiplex walls, while the long-established and the rootless live side-by-side in a state of yin and yang. Home to live jazz, literary festivals, dive bars, beach clubs, fashion houses, fishing villages, dhobi wallahs (laundry men), dabba wallahs (lunch box deliverers), mansions and slums, the curious and cosmopolitan city took hold when I first felt its heat on my skin — and I’ve never found cause to let go. My time in Bombay is fleeting so I prioritise my favourite activities: after my curry and clothes shopping I go for garlic pepper crab at Trishna; wander through Kala Ghoda’s art galleries; and enjoy a chicken roll at Bademiya, behind the famous Taj Mahal Palace hotel. Then, it’s a good night’s sleep at the Abode hotel, one of the few boutique-style hotels in Colaba, before catching the 7am Mandovi Express to Goa, a state famed for its golden coastline.

Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, a showstopping example of Victorian gothic revival architecture and a symbol ...

Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, a showstopping example of Victorian gothic revival architecture and a symbol of the city.

Perhaps it’s strange to come to a city for the sole purpose of leaving it, but taking the Mandovi Express down the coast is an adventure in itself; the embodiment of Indian Railways with its food, characters, views and history. Stretching 460 miles from Mumbai to Mangalore, the Konkan Railway is the one segment of India’s railway built entirely by Indian engineers, who conceived and completed a plan that had terrified the British. Fording 1,500 rivers, boring through mountains, enduring landslides and fending off snakes and tigers, they constructed 2,000 bridges and 92 tunnels to create a line that navigates the most spectacular landscape. Above all, it has the most praised pantry car on the network, with chicken lollipops, crisp pakoras and chicken biryani that draws rail fans from Kolkata to Nellore.

Departing from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus — more gothic cathedral than railway hub — the train is already at the platform when I scan the carriage numbers and board in sleeper class. A burst of rain throws up the scent of earth and florals as I watch commuters sail into the station on local trains, jumping from the open sides with satchels slung over their shoulders. With a shunt, our train glides out of the station and a smile spreads across my face as I settle in for the 12-hour ride.

There’s no hiding the truth from passengers on an Indian train, and this one carves through Mumbai, laying bare its guts and glories. Aerials and air-con units hang off high-rise flats, black and stained as though fire-damaged, and I spot more Indian flags than I’ve seen before, a sign of the country’s rising nationalism. Buffalo with centre partings lounge in the shade of rain trees, and patches of pink lotus appear in the mud. It seems cleaner than on my last visit.

And then the city’s gone, thrown off like shackles as the train canters through the countryside, wind whipping through the wide-open doors. I sit back and feel a sense of freedom as we tear through tiny stations, their red and blue roundels flashing by in a blur. There’s already a traffic jam of vendors in the aisles, skinning cucumbers seasoned with chilli salt and carrying trays of veg cutlet sandwiches and vada pav, the quintessential Bombay snack: fried potato patties mashed with garlic, chilli and coriander, laid in a bap and sprinkled with powdered spice. Less than £1 for two, they’re a perfect mid-morning snack. Biting through the heat, spice and crispness, I hear singing and clapping from down the aisle, accompanied by the thud and jingle of a tambourine. On cue, three hijras appear; members of India’s third gender, who earn a bit of money by performing, often on trains. I look over their joyful saris and jewellery, and one winks and waves while reaching deftly to pluck a note from a fellow passenger, adding to the collection.

A small man with orange-hennaed hair sits down opposite me, keen to chat. Subash Desai lives just outside Mumbai where he works in HR. He’s been taking the train for more than 10 years to Pernem in North Goa, where his wife has a home. I ask him why he doesn’t take the faster Jan Shatabdi train and he waves his hand. “I’ve taken it a couple of times, but it’s too early in the morning,” he says. “It leaves at 5.45am, reaches Goa about 3pm, and it comes back to Bombay in the night. Some find it good, but it’s very costly.” He points above to where a fellow passenger is asleep. “No berths, can’t sleep, must sit upright.”

At that moment our lunch arrives in foil containers and I peel off the lid and inhale the steam from fresh chicken biryani. “Also, the food is very good [on this train],” he laughs, pulling his feet into a cross-legged position and spooning up his rice. He points out of the window to where the scenery has transformed into forested mountains, lime-green meadows and rivers swinging wide. “This is the Vashishti River,” he says. “It’s one of the largest in this region, originating in the Western Ghats… many crocodiles, too.” In all the times I’ve travelled this route it’s never occurred to me that the inviting waters could be death traps where mugger crocodiles float like logs.

A vendor slices fresh cucumbers into strips, serving them to passengers with a sprinkling of chilli ...

A vendor slices fresh cucumbers into strips, serving them to passengers with a sprinkling of chilli salt.

After the train passes through the village of Anjani, I pause in the doorway, watching hundreds of dragonflies hovering by the tracks. In the foreground, palm fronds are within touching distance, while waterlogged paddies gleam in the light and thick tropical forest is all around. Waterfalls crash down cuttings, sending spray into the doorways, and the rivers widen at every bend as jungles slide off the banks and into the flow. In the distance the mountains look blue, their heads grazing the clouds, and I feel a sense of awe at what was endured to build this line.

For a number of reasons, we’re delayed by three hours — not unusual on this route, where freight has priority and the occasional landslide or flood warning slows the journey. There’s a distinctly indifferent attitude towards the delay, with passengers shrugging, dealing out cards and handing out packets of masala nuts and fruit. I start thinking about the next few days in Goa, where I’ve booked a walking tour through Fontainhas in the city of Panjim, Goa’s pastel-coloured Latin Quarter. It was here that I first discovered Confeitaria 31 De Janeiro, a pocket-sized bakery owned by a woman named Gletta Mascarenhas. Fitting fewer than five people at the counter, with a wood-fired oven flaming in the back, it produces sweet and spicy Goan pork rolls, prawn empadinhas and crisp mushroom puffs, each one a mouthful of magic. Meanwhile, having never been to the old, inland village of Chandor, I’ve also arranged to see its Portuguese churches and heritage homes with a chatty chap named Pankaj, who’s been WhatsApping all afternoon, eager to show me around. And no doubt I’ll spend an hour or two feeling the golden sand between my toes in the coastal village of Majorda.

On the eventual approach to Goa, churches begin to pop up from within the jungle and the sound of crickets rings out through the darkness that fell so fast I didn’t notice. The signs of arrival grow stronger as bags are zipped, shoes located and phones unplugged from the walls. Outside, backlit palms wave in the sea breeze and I watch families in blush-pink houses winding down for the night in the cosy glow of hurricane lamps. At Madgaon, my stop, I descend the steps and step back to watch the train leave. Tomorrow, in Mangalore, the final destination, vendors will board, tea will be drunk, cards will be dealt, music played, politics discussed and a new world will revolve between these walls. But for now, the Mandovi Express creaks and carries on its journey down the coast.

Geographically, Mumbai is located on the west coast of India, along the Arabian Sea, and is characterized by its tropical climate, sandy beaches, and coastal mangroves. The city's history dates back to ancient times, with the region being ruled by various dynasties, such as the Maurya, Satavahana, and Rashtrakuta empires, before being ceded to the British East India Company in the 17th century.

Goa is a western Indian state famous for its beaches, scenic beauty, vibrant culture, and rich history. The state is bounded on the west by the Arabian Sea, on the north by Maharashtra, and on the south and east by Karnataka. Goa is one of India's smallest states, yet it is also one of the country's most popular tourist attractions.

Because it was a Portuguese colony for almost four centuries, Goa features a unique blend of Indian and Portuguese cultures. This is evident in the state's architecture, cuisine, language, and culture. Goa's official language is Konkani, however English and Hindi are also commonly spoken.

The state is well-known for its delectable cuisine, which features seafood, hog, and beef dishes, as well as vegetarian options. Fish curry, vindaloo, sorpotel, and bebinca, a typical Goan dessert, are among popular Goan cuisine. Goa is also well-known for feni, a locally distilled alcohol derived from cashew or coconut.

Goa's topography is varied, including hills, forests, rivers, and beaches. The climate in the state is tropical, with a hot and humid summer and a mild winter. The months of November to February are ideal for visiting Goa since the weather is lovely and the beaches are at their peak.

Goa is known for its handicrafts, which include pottery, woodwork, and textiles. The state is also well-known for its music and dance, particularly the traditional folk dance known as the dhangar.

Goa has a long history that dates back to the third century BC. Before being invaded by the Portuguese in the 16th century, the realm was ruled by different dynasties. The Portuguese left a lasting legacy in Goa, which may be seen in the architecture and culture of the state.

The beaches of Calangute, Baga, and Anjuna, as well as the Basilica of Bom Jesus, Fort Aguada, and the Dudhsagar Waterfalls, are all popular destinations to visit in Goa. The state is also well-known for its active nightlife, with numerous clubs and pubs located in prominent tourist destinations.

Goa is well connected to the rest of India by bus and train. The state has two railway stations, in Margao and Thivim, as well as a large airport, Goa International Airport, in Dabolim.

I Drove From Mumbai To Goa & Here’s All You Need To Know About This Route

I Drove From Mumbai To Goa & Here’s All You Need To Know About This Route

I Drove From Mumbai To Goa & Here’s All You Need To Know About This Route

With the pandemic upon us, travelling sounds indulgent. But if I could travel anywhere right now, I would go to Goa, and that’s what I did (of course taking all the safety precautions). I drove from Mumbai to Goa all by myself, and I can tell you that it was one of the most enriching and rewarding experiences I have ever had. When I started planning this trip, I did a lot of research online to understand if there is anything in particular that I need to know. Unfortunately, I did not find enough information, so consider my experience as your guide to your next Mumbai to Goa road trip. Read on for all the details.

The Route I Took To Goa

Driving in your car is the safest thing to do right now, not just for yourself but also for others. Perhaps, that’s the only way to avoid human interaction and crowded flights. If you did not already know, there are two routes from Mumbai which will take you to Goa. One is the 14-hour coastal road which probably is more scenic and has fewer tolls. The other is the highway which has multiple tolls, but the roads are excellent, and navigation through Google maps is easy. I chose to take the highway as it was a shorter route. Although Google Maps showed 11 hours, it took me 13-14 hours as I took multiple stops. I made a break journey in four parts – Mumbai to Pune, Pune to Satara, Satara to Kolhapur and Kolhapur to Goa.

I fueled up my car so that I did not need to make a stop at a gas station. To enter Goa before it is dark, it is best to start at the crack of dawn. Try to start as early as 5 am in the morning.

Also, never rely on your YouTube for music. Have your playlist ready before your trip as the network is very poor on the way.   Here are 10 Best Spots You Will Find On A Road Trip From Mumbai To Goa

Pit-Stops I Made On The Way

I took four stops of half an hour each on the way.

Mumbai to Pune

I took the Mumbai Pune Expressway, which is a six-lane concrete, high-speed road. The distance spans around 110 km connecting Mumbai. It took around two and half hours to cover the distance. The expressway begins at Kalamboli and and ends at Dehu Road outskirts of Pune.

Pune to Satara

It took around 2 and half hours to cover a distance of 114km from Pune to Satara. The weather was amazing and the roads were even better. I also stopped here to eat my first meal after leaving Mumbai.

Satara to Kolhapur

Satara to Kolhapur by road is roughly 123 km in distance and took us around two hours. The drive was a breeze.

Kolhapur to Goa

Kolhapur to Goa took as six and half hours to cover a distance of around 350km. We crossed the Nipani Ajra and the Amboli Ajra road. Roads are excellent, but it gets even better as soon as you enter Belgaum. The entire landscape changes. The Nipani ajar road is dreamy. I set my tripod and clicked hundreds of pics there. The drive through Amboli Ghat can be scary so be sure you cross the area before it gets dark. Besides, there are no street lights, and so, driving in the night can be challenging.

View this post on Instagram   What’s a road trip without any halts and this road, Nippani Ajra Link Road, totally deserves a special attention. This came on my route from Mumbai to Goa and its so gorgeous and dreamy that I had to do take a walk here :) AMA about Mumbai-Goa roadtrip in comments below. . . . #roadtrip #feelkaroreelkaro #feelitreelit #curlytales #travelblogger #travelinsta #ilovemyindia #Travelreel A post shared by Kamiya Jani (@kamiya_jani) on Oct 6, 2020 at 3:59am PDT

But to sum it up, it was the most scenic, stunning journey for me. The entire stretch is not a four-lane highway, but green, with zero bumps in the road—a beautiful drive. I would totally recommend it.

What I Ate On The Road

All the packets of chips and crisps have their place in a road trip meal plan, but nothing beats parcels of home-cooked food to keep you company on the road. And at a time where eating at a restaurant or a roadside dhaba is not the best option, it is best to stay loaded with home-made snacks on a long road trip. I took my first food break only after I crossed the Pune city. I parked my car under a tree and devoured into some fantastic home-made food. Oh! that was some moment.

Tip: be sure to carry an extra bag to throw all your rubbish.

Fuel & Toll Charges

I drove my BMW GT, and the diesel cost was ₹2000. However, the fuel cost can vary based on the mileage and the car you are driving. I crossed seven toll gates and the toll charges summed up to ₹685 (I know, that’s quite a lot but hey, I did not mind paying for the smooth roads I glided my car on). You can go cashless and avoid human interaction if you pay via Qr code (Paytm). However, some tolls don’t have this facility, so it is always better to carry some cash.

Other Tips & Tricks

Wear a mask every time you make pit-stops and step out of the car. Also, keep a sanitiser bottle handy. I must have used a litre of sanitiser on the way (overdone it a bit), but did not want to take chances with my safety.  Here are 8 Emergency Road Trip Essentials You Need To Have In Your Car

A quip tip: Avoid drinking too much water on the road so that you do not have to take too many toilet breaks. The toilet facilities are not great. I stopped at two petrol pumps but did not find a decent toilet. I took my first toilet break near the food court near Lonavala. It was clean. The second toilet spot was at a fuel station near Satara. However, be sure to carry toilet paper and disinfectants and use Indian toilets only.

Top 5 airlines serving from Mumbai to Goa

I requested an aisle seat and got a middle seat The flight gate was changed and the flight was delayed

When boarding, after business class should be premium economy, but economy class already lined-up at the gate blocking premium economy to board. Singapore airline crew should done a better job to organize this chaos :( Thank you.

Every thing was fine. Some ild classical Hindi movies should be add

The premium economy seats were not that great. It could have been more premium than economy seats.

Flying with Singapore airlines is always excelllent - the crew are lovely and the food too is great. It’s my number 1 airline

Check in was snails pace, only 1 of the luggage screen was working so long lines, an hour to check in Nobody seemed to want to fix the issue Flight was 45 minutes late Scoot is a mini sized plane ( sardine class plane), literally felt slammed between people

Left hr late & arrived 1hr late luggage was slow to be offloaded! The flight crew & food were good! Movie selection was ok!

Would have been nice to have more variety and less dairy in the Indian Vegetarian special meal. Why do they include Parathas as part of the entree and also on the side (substitute for bread/roll)? Also, no need for so much dairy...don't need milk packet, yogurt and Chobani Greek yogurt in the same meal.

Flight attendants seemed a little more stressed out than in past Singapore flights. Not sure if that was because we had a completely full flight or if it was because it was just before Christmas. Food was decent but someone needs to update their Indian Vegetarian menus to ensure more variety, less duplication of items (Parathas included in2 different formats) and less dairy.

Flight was delayed by 2 hours. No entertainment on the 737-800NG. Somewhat squeezy.

While I was in great pain, the seat was sufficiently comfortable to allow me to rest and not be in so much pain.

Not impressed with check in desk staff at Vancouver airport. Not a professional mind service and not cared or tried to help. Don’t think I would fly with them again

Flight crew was especially thoughtful and attentive, made sure our seats were comfortable so we could rest on the long flight

One of the worst flight in business class by qatar airways and I’m no stranger with qatar airways businesses class, I travelled with the extensively in the past 12 years

The aircraft was slightly newer but the food was very bad. Bland and uninteresting. Nothing special at all.

The crew were fine. I didn’t enjoy the food at all. I found it unappetising and really had trouble eating it. The comfort level was fine and our return flight is with Cathay Pacific but honestly I probably wouldn’t fly Cathay Pacific again.

Everything went smooth. All flights were on time No changing gates, . No changing flights . It was like a completely different airlines tha n the last time I used Cathay Pacific . The last flight, 2 months ago, I had before this one was from Philippines also . I got changed in Manila and was told it only added 2 hours onto my flight . My 20 hour return trip ended up being 30 hours return with a 10.0 hour layover in New York with no seats anywhere . Everyone was sleeping or sitting on the floor . Unlike the hotel I was given in Manila to wait for this flight home . I never thought I would use Cathay Pacific again . But I did and this time you were great! I should have complained about the flight and layover from Hell a couple months ago. Consider that I am complaining about that august/23 flight now . Thank you got the great flying experience on my way home from philippines .

Flight was delayed. Drink was only offered during meal. Would have been nicer if crew walk around to offer drink after take off or in between meals.

Halal food options could have been better the first meal portion sizes were very small the second breakfast meal the fish and couscous was very dry and disappointing I enjoyed the Hong Kong t lot I enjoyed the midnight stuck a lot the Hong Kong tea we had for breakfast was very good

Cabin crew decided to make sure that the seat belt sight was on for most of a 3 hour 45 minute flight preventing pax.to use the facilities and then giving me omg when confronted with the situation. They should bear in mind that if there would be any human waste on the seats it has to be treated as biological material and removed by a hazardous material team.

This was an old 320 without a screen or USB charging port even in the business class. The food could have been better.

a real good flying experince. Everything was excellent right from check-in to baggage collection at destination.

Food is tasting bad, and it is a fusion but not authentic.

Excellent experience and now my preferred airline. Even a fantastic meal with dessert in a 2 hour flight.

off late the crew and the air in the flight is becoming that of a budget airline not the earlier Vistara .

It wasn't clear from where to board flight international or domestic Airport

Information was not clear from where to check in international or domestic Airport at Ahmedabad.

The deplaning experience was bad, since they did not get the aerobridge at Madras on arrival and the bus felt like a local train during office hour rush

i bought a biz class fare but a few days before vistara always changes my biz class flight to economy .. happened to me 4 times .. seated could be wider .. boarding could be more organized .. crew did their best but not enough resources all in all very poor experience

Qatar said few times that the luggage will be at the final destination but they were wrong. Please check where your port of entry is at the destination. This is where the luggage would be. The food was terrible.

As usual invariably delayed Lots of time in getting chkd in baggage

Staff needs to be trained in managing customers better. Indigo appears to be a low cost airlines in all aspects.

Flight was delayed and also lots of mosquitoes on the flight

Two times the gate was changed and flight got delayed

INDIGO Never On Time & Always Prefer to Shuttle Passengers Like shuttle Corks

I did not like the communication gap existing amongst the staff and the customer. My flight to Nagpur was delayed by two and half hours but it was informed to me on email ( not by W.A. or SMS) when I have already left my home in Baner area. I was painfully detained at airport with luggage when the gate no. 10 was changed to 5. I'll never recommend your flight to anybody.

Seats don't recline, no charging points. New aircraft and very clean. Crew should serve some water atleast.

Wife and I were seated in separate seats across the aisle

There was inordinate delay without any plausible reason. This has become a normal feature of Indigo now a days.

Flight was inordinately delayed, which has become normal with Indigo. Crews were inattentive. After landing there was a lot of time for arrival of chek in baggage

Comfortable seats, on time departures and arrival, and helping staff

Very very impressed with the proactive care and alertness with which ABHISHEK Chowdhary took care of us. Quietl, dignified , very alert, and meticulous. Very impressed. Also with SUNiL Kumar who was there for us in a very helpful way. SHERLY ALEX On Flight 119, BOM TO JFK CUSTOMER ON SEAT 21C, 21ST March 2024

If you are traveling to mumbai -- must try SFO - MUM direct flight. It's a game changer when you are traveling to India. Timings are well designed, optimal and makes the travel enjoyable.

On time boarding, proper information, friendly and cordial approach of staff, particularly crew members and the most important timely available of checked in baggage after arrival.

Air India need a big change of in all departments.

Boarding and crew were nice Food was normal No entertainment was on the flight. Neither TV screen was there nor Wi-Fi connection to the mobile phone or iPad was there. Even the budget wing of AIR INDIA ie AIR INDIA EXPRESS provided us Wi-Fi connectivity on our mobile phone in their DOMESTIC SECTOR. So not providing Wi-Fi connectivity on international flight was unthinkable.

The aircraft was very old, felt like poor economy seats. Entertainment was not working. Plug point was broken. For the coat of a business class ticket, I was very disappointed and dissatisfied. Crew on flight to Mumbai were good, on way back they were mediocre

Bathrooms were horrible. No cleaning and floor was full of tissues. Understand that passengers responsibility to keep it clean but crew should check if tissues are there or not. Also, they announced that baggage will be at one carousel but came to a different one.

Every thing was so old…. Can’t believe they are able to charge so much for this terrible level of service will use alternate company in future for all travel needs

Upgradation in our flight seats made us happy. But the long time to catch connecting flight from Bombay to Hyderabad could have been avoided or shortened. Our was AI 116 from JFK NY to Bombay & A1619 from Mumbai to Hyd.

Discover the Quickest Ways to Reach Goa from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore

Introduction to goa:.

With beaches bathed in sunlight, lively nightlife and Portuguese heritage, Goa remains the favorite destination for vacationers seeking relaxation and adventure. If you are planning a trip from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata or Bangalore, then it is easy to get to Goa due to its well-developed transport network. This guide will look into the diverse modes of transportation available from these major Indian cities to Goa.

1. From Delhi To Goa:

The quickest way for someone who needs to go from New Delhi (Delhi) to Goa is by air. Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) located in Delhi has numerous airlines offering flights that connect with the one at Goa International Airport (GOI). That means that it will take you around 2 hours thirty minutes on board.

Alternatively, they can travel by train from New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS) up to Madgaon Railway Station (MAO) or Thivim Railway Station (THVM) which are both found in Goa. There are several trains such as Rajdhani Express and Goa Sampark Kranti Express that ply between Delhi and Goa. Traveling by train is approximately 24-30 hours depending on the kind of the rail chosen.

Those visitors who would like traveling via road can choose different bus services or hire private taxis from among many others options offered in this direction. The distance between these two cities is approximately 1900 kilometers; therefore a trip by road consumes about thirty six hours dependent on traffic conditions and roads taken.

2. From Mumbai To Goa:

Air travel between Mumbai and Goa is also convenient. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM), which serves Mumbai city connects well with several other airports including the one found in Goa known as Goa International Airport (GOI). This flight takes about an hour and a half.

Another option for going to Goa from Mumbai is the train. From Mumbai CST (CSTM) or Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT), one can catch trains such as Konkan Kanya Express and Mandovi Express that goes straight to Madgaon Railway Station (MAO) or Thivim Railway Station (THVM) in Goa. If you take a train, it usually takes between 8-12 hours.

Most of the visitors travelling from Mumbai like using roads. There are also many bus services and private taxis available for this journey. The distance between these two cities is approximately 590 kilometers; therefore road trip consumes about twelve hours subject to traffic conditions and routes taken.

3. From Kolkata To Goa:

From Kolkata, there are direct flights to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (CCU) which serve travelers heading towards Goa International Airport (GOI). In addition to this, there are numerous airlines that fly between these two cities with the flight duration of around three hours.

The other alternative is travel by train from Kolkata all the way up to Goa. For example, Santragachi Vasco da Gama Express and Howrah Vasco da Gama Amaravati Express run on the railway lines connecting Kolkata Howrah Junction (HWH) with Madgaon Railway Station (MAO) in Goa. The journey by rail is typically covered within thirty six hours.

While it is possible to reach Goa from Kolkata by road, it's a long trip. However, there are buses and private taxis one can take for the journey but it covers a distance of approximately 1,900 kilometers and takes about 36-40 hours by road depending on traffic flow and direction.

4. From Bangalore to Goa:

The fastest way of getting to Goa from Bangalore is by air. An array of airlines operate several flights from Goa International Airport (GOI) which is well connected with Kempegowda International Airport (BLR) in Bangalore. The average flight duration is about 1.5-2 hours.

Alternatively, travelers may choose to go through train travel from Bangalore to Goa. Yesvantpur Vasco da Gama Express and Kacheguda Vasco da Gama Express are some of the trains that run between Madgaon Railway Station (MAO) in Goaand Bangalore Yesvantpur Junction (YPR). The journey by train takes around 12-14 hours.

Bangalore-Goa road trip is also one of the highly preferred means of transportation among tourists. For this type of a journey, there are many options available such as numerous bus services or hiring private cabs for transport purposes. The total distance separating the two cities is approximately 560 kilometers and again, this will depend on traffic snarl-ups experienced as well as the chosen route, taking around ten-twelve hours overland.

Conclusion:

Reaching Goa out of big Indian towns like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata or even Bangalore is fairly easy because multiple options exist allowing that.As such whether you opt for air travel or prefer train ride or rather fancy traveling through roads; still there are many ways through which you could land into Goan beaches without wasting much time for you summer holiday.
