Bangkok is an excellent destination for Malaysian travelers who want to experience a fun and memorable trip without breaking the bank.
Day 1: Chatuchak Market, Wat Phra Kaew, and Chinatown
1. Start the Day with a Traditional Thai Breakfast
First day in Bangkok, start the trip by filling your tummy with a delicious traditional Thai breakfast. The country is varied with cuisines that suit breakfast before exploring the destinations. The most popular traditional Thai breakfast is called jok (congee). It is a rice porridge that is served plain and topped with spring onions, meat or pork, and cooked eggs. This nutritious porridge, made with glutinous rice, can keep you full until lunchtime.
2. Visit Chatuchak Weekend Market, Wat Phra Kaew, and the Grand Palace
After having a great breakfast, you can start your journey by visiting popular destinations in Thailand, including Chatuchak Weekend Market, Wat Phra Kaew, and the Grand Palace.
First, Chatuchak Weekend Market is one of the biggest traditional markets in Thailand. It only opens during the weekend, from Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with the opening hours starting from 9 AM to 6 PM. This is the best place where you can find all of the traditional cuisines in Thailand with authentic local tastes, including the jok !
Second, Wat Phra Kaew is a destination you shouldn’t miss while in Thailand or you will regret it your whole life! Wat Phra Kaew, also known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, is a home for the Buddha. The temple used to be the royal chapel in 1784. This area is now officially known as Wat Phra SI Rattana Satsafaram, meaning Temple of the Holy Jewel Buddha.
It is incomplete if you visit Wat Phra Kaew without coming to the Grand Palace. This is a complex of buildings for the royal family and became the official residence of the Kings of Siam. The Grand Palace is still in the same complex as the Emerald Buddha Temple. For now, the Grand Palace is used only to celebrate ceremonial purposes of the Royal Family.
3. End the day with a Street Food Feast at Chinatown
End your first day in Thailand while having a portion of delicious street food at Chinatown in Thailand. As you know, Thailand's busiest time is evening and night. It is also the same with the street food at Chinatown. You can find lots of food awaits you!
Day 2: Wat Arun, Floating Markets, and Thonglor
1. Visit Wat Arun and take a boat ride along the Chao Phraya River to visit floating markets
On the second day in Thailand, start the day by visiting Wat Arun, a historical site in Thailand located on the edge of the Chai Phraya River. The temple was named Wat Arunratchawararam Ratchatarom Viahara and became one of Thailand's most important temples.
It is also named as Temple of Dawn. However, looking for the sunset from this temple also offers stunning views! Spare around an hour to explore Wat Arun before you have a boat ride along the Chao Phraya River.
After you finish from Wat Arun, you can rent a boat on the edge of the Chao Phraya River to explore the area on a ship. This river, also known as the most important waterway in Thailand, became a transport link for shipping.
2. Enjoy a traditional Thai lunch and explore the trendy neighborhood of Thonglor
After finishing your trip to go around the Chao Phraya River, you can have a rest while having lunch around Thonglor, one of the trendiest neighborhoods in the Thai Capital. No need to worry about restaurants because Thonglor serves various restaurants. You can choose to taste authentic Thai food!
3. End the day with a visit to Talat Rot Fai Ratchada night market
To complete your second-day trip in Thailand, finish your day while spending some time at Talat Rot Fai Ratchada Night Market. The Talat Rot Fai Ratchada night market is a popular destination for locals and tourists. Located in the heart of Bangkok, Thailand, this bustling market offers a wide range of food, drinks, and shopping options.
Visitors can find everything from traditional Thai street food to international cuisine, unique souvenirs, and handmade crafts. In addition, the market is known for its vibrant nightlife scene, with live music performances and entertainment options available throughout the night. Whether you're looking for a tasty bite or a fun night out on the town, the Talat Rot Fai Ratchada night market is a must-visit destination in Bangkok.
Day 3: Chatuchak Park, Jim Thompson House, and Soi Rambuttri
1. Start the day with a trip to Chatuchak Park and a delicious Thai-style breakfast
Last day in Thailand, start your day by walking at Chatuchak Park. The location of this park is near public transport, so you can easily reach the area by public transportation.
Coming to Chatuchak Park in the morning is one of the best things to do in Bangkok while enjoying the blooming flowers and the windy, freezing morning air. After enjoying the park by walking, you can have a delicious Thai-style breakfast, which you can easily find around the park.
Some popular Thai breakfast dishes include khao tom , a rice soup with pork, chicken, or shrimp, and khao neow moo ping , grilled pork served with sticky rice. You can also enjoy a cup of traditional Thai tea or coffee to complete your breakfast.
2. Visit the Jim Thompson House, a museum showcasing traditional Thai architecture and art
Jim Thompson was the name of an American soldier that initiated the Thai silk industry in Thailand. The Jim Thompson House is also known as one of the most famous destinations in Thailand among tourists.
Visitors can tour the house and see the many artifacts and art pieces Jim Thompson collected during his travels throughout Southeast Asia. In addition to the house, beautiful gardens are also surrounding it that are worth exploring.
3. End the trip with a final taste of Bangkok at Soi Rambuttri

What travelers are saying
"We spent two wonderful weeks touring several of the best destinations in Portugal & Spain with a group of 16 people. Our guide (Fredy) was from Spain and intimately familiar with the region, including its rich history, attractions, and food/beverages. The tour was well-paced using a combinations of private vehicles (small buses and cabs), trains, and an airplane ride as well as a fair amount of walking to get around these two beautiful countries. We extended our stay in Lisbon to see more attractions and took a side trip to Fatima, Obidos, and Nazare that was also excellent. Would have liked to have a bit more time in a couple of the cities, but we'll just have to plan another trip!"

"We joined the Intrepid “Real Italy Food Tour” and enjoyed it thoroughly. Our tour guide, Micol, was very knowledgeable and provided us with lots of good information. It seems Micol knew many of the staff of the venues we visited, including the pasta making class we attended. Our group of 11 travelers was extremely compatible, which greatly added to the fun and enjoyment."

Bangkok Tour Selection Trips
- Bangkok is a hub of activity, and a classic Thailand tour destination. Most Thailand tours will begin or end in Bangkok (where most flights depart from), and even spend a few days here before exploring wider Thailand. If you are interested in fully experiencing Thai city life, and making sure you see all of Bangkok’s attractions, make sure to check your tour itinerary.
- Although Bangkok has received a lot of notoriety for the nightlife, there is way more to see and do if that’s not of interest to you. Look for tours in particular that explore the Bangkok’s unique culture and history.
- Thailand is renowned for being a fantastic and cheap travel destination, and Bangkok is no exception. You can cut costs by staying in cheaper accommodation on your tour of the city by filtering our trips for budget options, and opt for local street food or groceries when your meals are not included.

Bangkok Weather & Best Time to Visit
Between November and February is typically stated as the best time to visit Bangkok. This is because this is the driest season of the year, and you won’t have to worry about getting caught in a monsoon, or overpowering humidity.
If you are looking to save money (not a futile objective in Thailand, where affordable travel is very possible!), consider traveling between April and October. This is the hottest and rainiest time of the year, with temperatures reaching the mid-90’s Fahrenheit on average.
Traveling at this time means you also miss the tourist crowds, and when temperatures are 90 on average the rest of the year, the change in temperature isn’t that dramatic. Just pack a raincoat and some waterproof shoes!
There are also several festivals and key events during each of these times that you may want to plan your travel around. If this is something that interests you, consider a Thailand festival tour .
Between the “off-season” of April to October, some of the key events include:
- Visakha Bucha: this is a day in April that is the most important Buddhist holiday in Thailand. It celebrates the three main events of Buddha’s life by processing to the temple with flowers, incense sticks, and listening to recitations of the Dhamma teaching.
- Songkran : This is the Thai water festival, where people flood the streets and shoot each other with water guns and celebrate together and wash away bad luck. Outside of the city center, more traditional celebrations with floating images of the Buddha take place.
- International Festival of Dance and Music: as the name suggests, this is a massive cultural exposition of Thai dance and music, as well as art forms from other parts of the world.
- Moon Festival: This is time of year when Thai families gather to say thank you to their ancestors as well as celebrate the harvest season. They gift and indulge in mooncakes made of lotus, red bean, sesame, salted egg, and durian.
And between the prime traveler season of November to February, several of Bangkok’s main events are :
- Makha Bucha : This is one of the four most important Buddhist festivals, and celebrates the month when Buddha delivered his core teachings. Besides giving food to monks, people meditate en masse in white robes, and process to certain significant sites (In Bangkok, these places include the Golden Mountain and Marble Temple).
- Chinese New Year: Also known as the Spring Festival in Thailand, this holiday celebrates the New Year. To celebrate this, a Lantern Festival occurs for two weeks, and on the main three days of the festival, there are exciting parades led by fire breathing characters and dragons, and people drink, eat, celebrate, and light off firecrackers to scare away evil spirits.
- Loy Krathong : This Siamese festival takes place on the final full moon in the last month of the year, and means “to float”. This comes from the practice of floating both floral bouquets, bits of Thai food, and candles down the river. The festival originates from paying homage to the water spirits, but is now practiced in the spirit of tradition, and is now sometimes accompanied by fireworks and a beauty contest.
- Golden Mount Temple Fair : This fair encircles the famous Golden Mount of Bangkok, and begins when a red cloth is used to cover the temple. People gather at the site to enjoy cultural shows, traditional music and games, market food, as well as martial arts performances.
Bangkok Safety
Bangkok is known to be a safe city, though of course you should always be on alert when you are in an unfamiliar place. Your biggest threat in Bangkok will be petty theft, the risk of which increases if you choose to enjoy the city’s rambunctious nightlife. Here are a few things to be mindful of:
Minor scams : Getting overcharged by taxis and tuktuks occasionally happens, but be easily avoided if you ask the driver to turn his meter on, or agree to a price beforehand. If you are particularly worried about getting overcharged, hold a map so you can ensure your driver takes the shortest possible route. If you ask for a taxi service recommended by your hotel, however, you will likely be able to completely avoid this issue
Pickpocketing : at the main tourist attractions, there is always a chance someone may try to pick your pockets. Never carry all of your belongings, remain aware of yourself, and keep things in interior pockets. If you are a woman, consider ditching the purse, which makes it easier for bag snatching to occur.
Fakes: If you are buying brand-name items or jewels off the street, know that these are almost guaranteed to be fakes. This may seem obvious, but some tourists end up getting persuaded by a particularly clever dealer!

Bangkok to Singapore
Had a lovely time with Ae our tour leader. The activities were amazing and the sites were very beautiful. We were busy all day everyday with things to see and do! Never a dull moment. Ae was an amazing tour leader! Very calm, patient and helpful. She’s quite funny and kept the group laughing. Loved her positive upbeat energy and just had an amazing time! The optional Phi Phi Island tour is not to be missed, inner tubing down the lake at the rainforest hotel and the eco bike ride in Malaysia

What people love about malaysia, singapore and thailand tours.
Embarking on the "Jungle Hikes & Island Nights" group journey from Bangkok to Singapore was an adventure of a lifetime, magnificently organized and flawlessly executed. From start to finish, the expedition was a resounding success, thanks to impeccable planning and an itinerary that promised—and delivered—an extraordinary experience. The locations we explored were nothing short of spectacular, offering us a diverse palette of experiences that ranged from the serenity of lush jungles to the vibrant nightlife on picturesque islands. The balance between exhilarating hikes and lively parties was just right, ensuring that every day was filled with new adventures and opportunities to create lasting memories. A significant part of this trip's charm was the fantastic group of fellow travelers I had the fortune to journey with. It's rare to find such a harmonious blend of personalities and backgrounds, but we clicked instantly, transforming a group of strangers into lifelong friends. The camaraderie that developed amongst us added a whole new layer of enjoyment to the experience. A special shoutout is deserved for our CEO, Fon, whose expertise, passion, and warm personality made her not just a guide, but a true friend. Her dedication to ensuring that we all had an incredible time was evident in every aspect of the trip. Fon, you are a gem, and your efforts were genuinely appreciated by all of us! However, no adventure is without its lessons. The pace of the tour, while exhilarating, sometimes felt a bit rushed. Extending the itinerary by a day or two could provide a more relaxed pace, allowing for some much-needed rest days amidst the action-packed schedule. For travelers like myself, towering over 185cm, be prepared for a squeeze, especially on the night trains which proved to be quite the challenge. An additional note for future adventurers: consider booking an extra night in Singapore to fully explore the wonders this city has to offer. The tour's conclusion in Singapore feels like just the beginning of another adventure waiting to be discovered. In summary, the "Jungle Hikes & Island Nights" trip from Bangkok to Singapore was an unforgettable journey filled with incredible sights, sounds, and experiences. While there's room for minor adjustments, the overall experience was profoundly impactful, leaving us with memories to cherish for a lifetime. To those seeking adventure, camaraderie, and a touch of magic, this journey comes highly recommended.
This trip had just about everything: Temples, natural beauty, animals, food, etc. Nice balance of relaxation and excitement. This was one of the best tours ever in terms of included activities and food. Wonderful guide too! (Alif)
