About the resort:

The Resort is located at the bank of the River Hooghly & the River Damodar confluence at Garchumuk. The site is unique in respect to enjoying the panoramic view of both sides of rivers with distant villages from the rooms of the resort. Tourists can enjoy nature without any disturbance. A unique place to enjoy lonely nature with the roaring sound of waves during high tide and the sound of water dashing on the bank when ships pass beside the resort. Indian Gangetic Dolphins are often seen in the confluence river of Ganga & Damodar. The Resort is a two storied building having 4 no Double-bedded luxury rooms with south open facing towards the rivers. Each room has an attached western bathroom, AC, Geyser, LCD TV and intercom service with one big lounge on the ground floor. The children's playground is an additional attraction for the kids. Car parking, Electricity & Generator facilities are also available. Room services are available 24 hours by the amiable Staff. Homemade food of various dishes with delicious taste provided to our esteemed boarder.

How to Reach:

By Train - Nearest Railway Station is Uluberia. It takes 45 minutes (approx.) from Howrah to reach Uluberia. The frequency of train service is convenient. By Road - Uluberia is well connected by road, the NH-6 passing through Uluberia. From Uluberia it is hardly 30 minutes (approx.) journey by car/ auto rickshaw/trekker etc. to reach at the Resort. From Dhramatala to Garchumuk via Uluberia is 60 kms. The nearest Airport is Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, Dumdum.

How to go ?

You can avail a number of options to reach Garchumuk. Trains are available from Howrah, which takes around 45 minutes to reach Uluberia. From Uluberia, you will find jeep, bus, ambassador and trekker to reach Garchumuk.

Garchumuk is located at a distance of 60 kms from Esplanade and takes around 2.5 hours to reach the destination. Avail a bus heading to Gadiara from Esplanade, and drop down at the 58 No gate stop. You can also drive along the Bombay road to Uluberia and then take the local road to reach Garchumuk.

Excellent place for one day trip ....You can get riverside view from the balcony ....The food served here is fresh and tasty... Rooms are neat and clean. All the staffs here is very helpful and friendly .....

Nice place to visit, confluence of Damadar River and Hoogly River

For a day at the juncture of river Damodar and Hoogly, it is awesome. You could arrange a boat trip as well with your family.

Visited the place in March 2022. The sole purpose of the visit was to watch the cargo ships and barges from the closest. Just to remind readers that the shipping lane on the river Hooghly is towards Howrah district and not towards 24 Parganas (South) as the river depth is more towards Howrah. It was a pleasure to watch Ocean Eel, Klang, Shreyas and other big cargo ships as well as innumerable barges heading towards Bangladesh from the balcony or the terrace of the resort. One should book the three super deluxe rooms as they face the rivers, (the resort is at the confluence of Hooghly and Damodar rivers). We were a little unlucky as we got only one super deluxe and the sole deluxe room that was pretty average. Mr Joydeb would cook you fabulous Bengali dishes. No need to venture anywhere, stay with the rivers and watch the activities going on there, you would not know how time has passed!

Very nice tourist spot.... spacious rooms, clean bathrooms, fabulous view of river, ..... Hospitality and Food is excellent.... However, the authority should think more rationally about the maintanance of rooms, toilet.....and an in depth thinking beutification and maintanance of the campus would be highly appriciated.
