About Lauryn Hill Merch

The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, her 1998 solo debut, cemented Lauryn Hill’s status as a creative force on her own. Prior to that, the singer, songwriter, rapper, and producer had gained notoriety with the Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum-selling group the Fugees. Ms. Lauryn Hill & Fugees Miseducation of Lauryn Hill 25th Anniversary Tour

The following approved process will be implemented at the United Center for the General Admission (GA) pit:

• WRISTBAND DISTRIBUTION TIMES: At 9 a.m. on show day, guests will receive a numbered wristband. This represents the order they will be lined up in to access the GA area. Numbered wristbands will be distributed until 4:30 pm.
• WHO NEEDS A NUMBERED WRISTBAND:  Please note that numbered wristbands are only required if a guest would prefer to have first access to the standing room floor. A numbered wristband is not needed if a guest doesn't have a preference on where they will stand on the floor.
• LOCATION: Fans will only receive wristbands from a credentialed United Center security employee at Gate 5.
• LEAVING PRIVILEGES: Once the wristband is received, guests are free to leave and return to Gate 5 no later than 4:30 p.m.
• RETURNING TIME: All guests with a wristband must return to the United Center and be lined up in order by 4:30 p.m. to have wristband number honored.
• LATE ARRIVAL: If a guest with a numbered wristband arrives after 4:30 p.m., the guest will be placed in line after the last guest in line. Guests without wristbands arriving after 4:30 pm will also be placed in line after the last guest in line.
• ONE PROCESS: This is the only process approved for GA entry. No additional arrangements can be honored at this time.

**Please note- you must have your ticket to obtain a wristband and only one wristband per person.

** All guests with general admission tickets must enter though Gate 5.

Take I-90 East to the Madison Street exit and make a right onto Madison Street. The building will be on your left.

Take I-55 North to the Damen exit and make a left, going northbound for approximately 7 minutes. The building will be on your right.

Take Madison Street west from the Loop.

Take I-290 East to exit 28A (Damen Avenue). Take Damen Avenue north to Madison Street. Make a right onto Madison Street and the building will be on your right.

Public Transportation

Take the Orange, Green, Purple, or Brown lines to Madison. Take #20 Madison buses west.

To the United Center : The #19 United Center Express Bus runs on game days. Service begins 90 minutes prior to game time, runs every 10 minutes until 30 minutes until start of game. Board at stops starting southbound on Michigan and Randolph. Connections are made with Metra trains at Millennium Station, Ogilvie Center and Union Station. The #20 Madison Bus travels west on Madison Street, starting downtown at Wabash Street and runs every few minutes, making all stops to the United Center.

From the United Center : The #19 United Center Express and the #20 Madison buses run every few minutes, departing from the eastbound side of Madison Street. Buses make all stops.

General Parking

PLEASE NOTE: Parking lots and Uber lot open to public two and a half hours prior to event time.

All major credit cards accepted. The United Center offers free parking for select family shows in all official United Center parking lots. All Parking Policies outlined below remain in effect.

EV Charging Stations EV Charging Stations are available in Lot H and Lot K. Charging is free. Please be courteous and maintain parking/charging for the posted time limits. 

Parking Policies No in/out privileges. No overnight parking unless related to event activites and approved in advance. No solicitation allowed. No consumption of alcoholic beverages on lot or in parked vehicles. No tailgating or similar activities.

Fans visiting the United Center can also reserve their parking in advance via  Ticketmaster .

Suites Parking

Two reserved parking passes will be valid in lots C and K. The other two reserved parking passes will be for parking in lots A, B, D, or L. Holders of these passes will be directed to A, B, D, or L lots by traffic police and parking attendants based on traffic conditions. Parking passes are good for one space each. All parking passes are mobile entry only.

For all special events, each Executive Suite Holder will receive two complimentary parking passes per event ordered. These two passes will be for reserved parking located in lots C and K. In addition, Executive Suite Holders will also receive the option to purchase four additional parking passes in lots C and K for special events.

Suite Holder parking passes are also valid for buses or limousines under specific guidelines.

Lexus Club Parking

Lexus Club Seat members have reserved parking in fenced, well-lit and clearly marked parking lots adjacent to the United Center for all Blackhawks or Bulls preseason, regular season and playoff games. All Lexus Club members who purchase tickets to other events may also purchase one preferred parking pass (in lot C or K) for such events. Details on how to obtain parking for other events are included with the fax transmission announcing each event.

Lexus Club Seat members with two to four tickets receive a complimentary, reserved parking space in a closed-in, paved lot for all Blackhawks or Bulls preseason, regular season and playoff games. Lexus Club Seat members with five seats or more will be provided with two parking passes.

Rideshare/UberZone

UBER ZONE FAQs:

What is the Uber Zone (Lot E) at the United Center? To increase and streamline the fan experience for guests who take Uber to and from the United Center, the new Uber Zone is located at the corner of Madison Street and Wood Street (Lot E) and will combine the three former Uber locations around the arena. Traffic leading to the three prior Uber pickup locations 1) Zone A, previously located on Wood Street & Washington Blvd. near Lot A, 2) Zone D, previously located on Monroe Street & S. Paulina Street near Lot D and 3) Zone F, previously located on Monroe Street & Seeley Ave. near Lot F will now be directed towards the one new Uber Zone in Lot E.

What is the location of the Uber Zone? The new Uber Zone at the United Center is located on the corner of Madison Street and Wood Street. Fans will enter and exit through the sidewalk entrance located on Madison Street and cars will enter the lot by turning into the Uber Zone from Madison Street. Cars will exit on Warren Blvd.

What are the hours of operation? On event days, the Uber Zone is open two hours prior to games, concerts and events and will remain open up to one hour after each event. On non-event days, the Uber Zone will be closed and Uber rides will be dropped off near the corner of Madison Street and Wood Street outside of the Uber Zone.

What is the pickup process for fans?

• Using the Uber app, fans inside the United Center will call an Uber ride.
• Guests will then head to the new Uber Zone located at the corner of Madison Street and Wood Street in front of the United Center.
• When arriving, fans will show the Uber attendant the lane number their driver is in.
• Fans will be shown the location where their Uber vehicle is located to start their next journey.

What is the dropoff process for fans? When Uber drivers arrive with guests at the United Center, they will be instructed to pull into the Uber Zone from the Madison Street side to drop off fans. Once exiting the vehicle, guests will walk out of the main entrance located on the corner of Madison Street and Wood Street. Guests can cross the street to the United Center and are encouraged to enter through the East Atrium.

Iconic artist Ms. Lauryn Hill has unveiled The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill 25th Anniversary Tour, a celebration of her groundbreaking 1998 solo debut album. With the album’s release anniversary just around the corner, the tour will revisit the heartfelt music that resonated with countless fans. The 17-date tour will grace global arenas, including Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, Chicago’s United Center, and Los Angeles’ Kia Forum, along with stops in Australia and New Zealand. Notably, The Fugees will also take the stage, co-headlining the tour’s US and Canadian dates, marking their first tour in years.

“The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill  is and was a love song to my parents, my family, my people, my musical and cultural forebears, my teachers, my loves, my Creator,” said Hill. “I wrote love songs and protest songs— (still love songs) about the subjects and interests that inspired and moved me. I was confident that what inspired me would resonate with an audience that had been led to believe that songs of that kind could only live in the past.” She continues “I loved music, I loved people, I truly felt grateful to God for my life, and genuinely blessed to have a platform where I could share wisdom and perspective through music. Fugees will co-headline the US and Canadian dates

Ms. Lauryn Hill will celebrate the 25th anniversary of her seminal album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill by embarking on a world tour this fall . What’s more, Hill’s band Fugees will co-headline all of the North American shows.

The North American leg kicks with Fugees kicks off on October 17th in Newark, New Jersey, and also includes stops in Brooklyn, Washington, DC, Philadelphia, Toronto, Chicago, Fort Worth, Denver, Los Angeles, Oakland, and Seattle.

Update: Due to “overwhelming demand,” Hill has announced a new run of shows taking place in November, including dates in Vancouver, San Francisco, Atlanta, Nashville, Miami, Boston, and more.

Tickets are available via StubHub , where orders are 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s FanProtect program. StubHub is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

Earlier this year, Consequence named The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill the second best hip-hop album of all time .

Fugees previously reconvened in 2021 for their first live performance in 15 years . However, plans for a full-fledged reunion tour were delayed and then canceled due to the pandemic. The upcoming jaunt may be the last chance to see Fugees live, as Pras Michel was  found guilty in late April for his involvement in a billion-dollar Malaysian money laundering scheme. The Fugees co-founding member is currently awaiting sentencing but could face up to 20 years in prison.

Lauryn Hill announces 25th anniversary tour for solo album

The singer will celebrate The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill with a global 17-date tour that will also include Fugees members in the US and Canada

Lauryn Hill is set to embark on a global tour to celebrate the 25th anniversary of her acclaimed solo album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill .

The singer and rapper will perform the entirety of her Grammy-winning album across 17 dates in the US and Canada as well as in Australia and New Zealand. She will also be reunited by fellow Fugees members for her dates in the US and Canada.

Hill’s US dates include Chicago’s United Center, Brooklyn’s Barclays Center and the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. Her first date is on 8 September in Minneapolis.

“The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is and was a love song to my parents, my family, my people, my musical and cultural forebears, my teachers, my loves, my Creator,” Hill said in a statement. “I wrote love songs and protest songs – (still love songs) about the subjects and interests that inspired and moved me. I was confident that what inspired me would resonate with an audience that had been led to believe that songs of that kind could only live in the past.”

The tour comes after the Fugees were forced to cancel their reunion tour as a result of Covid. Originally announced in 2021 to celebrate the anniversary of Grammy-winning album The Score, it was later cancelled in 2022.

In September 2021, the trio reunited on stage in New York for their first gig in 15 years after keeping fans waiting for three and a half hours.

Hill has made a number of appearances this year already to celebrate the anniversary including at the hip-hop 50th anniversary celebrations in New York City appearing alongside Nas as well as headlining the Roots Picnic festival alongside fellow Fugees.

The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, featuring hits such as Doo Wop (That Thing), Ex-Factor and Everything Is Everything, debuted at No 1 in the US in 1998, selling 422,000 copies in its first week, a record for a female solo artist.

Five-time Grammy winner Lauryn Hill has announced a 25th anniversary tour for her iconic debut solo album, 1998’s “Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.” Hill’s former group the Fugees, who abruptly canceled a planned 25th anniversary tour around their multiplatinum album “The Score“ album last year, will open only the U.S. dates, presumably because of member Pras Michel’s legal challenges stemming from his recent conviction on international conspiracy charges.

The 17-date tour will hit arenas around the world, including Brooklyn’s Barclays, Chicago’s United Center, the Kia Forum in Los Angeles as well as in Australia, New Zealand, and more (full dates below). The Fugees will reunite for their first tour in years to co-headline the tour on all U.S. and Canadian dates. The trio announced a world tour in 2021 and played a concert in New York that September , but all other dates were canceled.

With its pioneering fusion of R&B, hip-hop and pop, “Miseducation” was one of the most influential albums of the 1990s. Entered into the Library of Congress in 2015, it was the first hip-hop album to receive an album of the year Grammy Award, and made Hill the first woman to be nominated for 10 Grammy awards in one year and the first woman to win five Grammys in one night. However, she has only released one album since then — an “MTV Unplugged” concert recorded in 2001 — although she has toured frequently.  

“I loved music, I loved people, I truly felt grateful to God for my life, and genuinely blessed to have a platform where I could share wisdom and perspective through music,” she continues. “I felt a charge to challenge the idea that certain kinds of expression and/or certain kinds of people didn’t belong in certain places. I loved showing what could work or happen provided there was imagination, creativity and LOVE leading the way.”

Ms. Lauryn Hill may be hitting the road in 2023 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill .

The artist teased the announcement during her set at the ONE Musicfest in Atlanta over the weekend, acknowledging the upcoming anniversary and sharing that they are “gonna be back with those songs the way you can recognize them.” Hill did not divulge any further details such as the dates and what exactly the celebrations will be, but the news did excite the fans who were present.

Ms. Lauryn Hill has announced The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill 25th Anniversary Tour to commemorate her massively influential 1998 debut solo album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill , an album that was released 25 years a go to the day this coming Friday.

MLH will be performing the album, revisiting the musical sentiment and nostalgia that caused it to resonate with so many fans. The 17 date tour will hit arenas around the world, including Brooklyn’s Barclays, Chicago’s United Center, The Kia Forum in Los Angeles as well as in Australia, New Zealand, and more. The Fugees will reunite for their first tour in years to co-headline the tour on all US and Canadian dates.

Ms. Hill explained her thoughts on the album and its lasting impact, saying: “ The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is and was a love song to my parents, my family, my people, my musical and cultural forebears, my teachers, my loves, my Creator. I wrote love songs and protest songs— (still love songs) about the subjects and interests that inspired and moved me. I was confident that what inspired me would resonate with an audience that had been led to believe that songs of that kind could only live in the past.”

Lauryn Hill announced that she’s launching an international tour commemorating the 25th anniversary of her debut solo album, “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.” Her former group, The Fugees, will be the opening act during the stateside dates.

Hill is slated to perform in 17 cities during the tour, running from September to November, according to  Variety . The five-time Grammy Award winner will perform in North American cities like Minneapolis, Newark, Brooklyn, Washington D.C., and Toronto. She is scheduled to play overseas, with three dates in Australia and one in New Zealand.

Hill’s scheduled headlining performance at the Global Citizens Festival on Sept. 23 at Central Park in New York City is included on the tour.

“The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill” dropped on Aug. 25, 1998, and became a smash hit. Driven hit singles “Doo-Wop (That Thing),” “Everything is Everything,” and “Ex-Factor,” the album earned Hill five Grammy Awards on its way to a  diamond certification .

“‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’ is and was a love song to my parents, my family, my people, my musical and cultural forebears, my teachers, my loves, my Creator,” Hill said. “I loved music, I loved people, I truly felt grateful to God for my life, and genuinely blessed to have a platform where I could share wisdom and perspective through music.”

The Fugees, comprising of Hill, rapper-producer Wyclef Jean, and rapper Pras Michel, will open the final 11 of the 17 shows, beginning on Oct. 17 in Newark. Grammy Award-winning Jamaican singer Koffee is slated to open for Hill for two of her three shows in Australia.

In September 2022, Hill, Jean, and Michel  reunited for a show  at Pier 17 in New York City and, soon after, announced plans for a 12-city tour that fall. After  postponing the tour  to the following year, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of this second, and so far, latest, album, 1996’s “The Score.” However, the group  canceled the tour  the following January.

This past June, the Fugees  reunited again  as a surprise during Hill’s headlining performance at The Roots Picnic in Philadelphia.

Tickets for Hill’s tour go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. local time on Friday via Ticketmaster.

The iconic R&B singer is embarking on “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill 25th Anniversary” tour in the U.S. on Oct. 17 at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.

The tour will then wrap up on Nov. 9 in Seattle, Washington .

Ms. Lauryn Hill will also be performing at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. on Oct. 19 .

The tour will celebrate her first debut solo album titled “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill,” which was released in 1998.

The Fugees will also reunite for the first time in years to open for Hill on all of her U.S. tour dates.

Tickets to see Ms. Lauryn Hill go on sale to the public on Aug. 25 at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster .

Hip-Hop’s most elusive star is returning to the spotlight.

Lauryn Hill just announced she’s embarking on ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill 25th Anniversary Tour’ this fall.

That includes stops at New York City’s Global Citizen Festival on Saturday, Sept. 23, Newark, NJ’s Prudential Center on Tuesday, Oct. 17 and Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Thursday, Oct. 19.

Hill isn’t going it alone either.

The five-time Grammy winner will be bringing her group Fugees to open all U.S. dates on the run from September through November.

No word on whether or not they’ll be performing with her at the Global Citizen Festival .

Global Citizen Festival

On Saturday, Sept. 23, Central Park will be the epicenter of the music world when the Global Citizen Festival drops into midtown Manhattan.

Hill is set to headline along with major stars like Red Hot Chili Peppers , Megan Thee Stallion , Stray Kids and Conan Gray.

At all U.S. concerts, Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel will co-headline with Hill.

According to Variety , it’s likely they won’t be touring internationally “presumably because of member Pras Michel’s legal challenges stemming from his recent conviction on international conspiracy charges.”

In September 2021, the South Orange, NJ natives announced a 25th anniversary tour celebrating their album “The Score” but canceled a few months later due to COVID concerns.

Lauryn Hill Announces Tour for 25th Anniversary of “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill”

Grammy-award-winning singer Lauryn Hill will be back on the road this Fall celebrating the 25th anniversary of her 1998 album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill . She reunites with her former group the Fugees to go on tour from September 8 through November 9, with two appearances in New York.

The 25th anniversary tour marks the first time Hill has performed on tour since 2020, as the R&B/rap superstar will dive into her discography to bring some of her best songs to the concert stage.

Since The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’s release, the project has accumulated numerous accolades, going RIAA certified Diamond, the first album by a female rapper to go number one on Billboard, and five Grammys stemming from her work.

Her reunion with the Fugees, composed of Wyclef Jean and Pras, will serve as co-headliners throughout the U.S. and Canadian shows. Additionally, reggae star Koffee opens for the Australian leg of the tour on October 3 and 5.

An icon who changed the role of women in music

An eight-time Grammy winner, Lauryn Hill stands as a beacon in the history of hip-hop and R&B music. Without a doubt, she shifted the role of women within the music industry with her legendary album 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill' (1998). But how much do you know about the woman herself? Her story may surprise you!

She started as an actress

Born in East Orange, New Jersey, on May 26, 1975, Lauryn Hill dipped her toes into acting from a young age, appearing in theater productions and on TV series like 'As the World Turns' and in the movie 'Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit.'

Entering the music universe with The Fugees

But Hill's true calling was music, a universe she entered with the rap and R&B group The Fugees, which she joined along with Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel from her high school days. Things really got serious after entering Columbia University, where she began performing regularly with them.

Two studio albums with her legendary band

Throughout their career (1989-1997), The Fugees released just two studio albums, 'Blunted On Reality' (1994) and 'The Score' (1996), the latter winning two Grammy Awards and going multi-platinum.

However, rather than continuing to thrive within the music industry, The Fugees disbanded in 1997 following the success of 'The Score', and each member embarked on their solo journey.

Was it because of her relationship with Wyclef Jean?

According to Wyclef Jean in his autobiography 'Purpose', the real reason for the split was his tumultuous relationship with Hill and the fact that she lied about the paternity of her first child.

A long 15-year relationship with Rohan Marley

It was before starting her new solo career that, in 1996, she met Rohan Marley, a professional American football player and son of the legendary Jamaican artist Bob Marley, with whom she would have a 15-year romantic relationship.

Together they had five children

This relationship ended in 2011, with the couple's definitive separation. Together they had five kids: Zion David (born in 1997); Selah Louise (in 1998); Joshua Omaru (in 2001); John Nesta (in 2002); and Sarah (in 2008).

'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill'

But long before all this, going back to 1997, solo success and global recognition called on Lauryn Hill with her debut album 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill', released on August 25, 1998.

Marking a before and after for hip-hop and R&B

It was an album that broke all the molds and marked a before and after in the hip-hop and R&B genres. A musical work featuring notable collaborations like guitarist Carlos Santana, blues artist D'Angelo, and pianist John Legend.

Winner of five Grammy Awards

'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill' was nominated for 11 Grammy Awards and ultimately won five, including 'Album of the Year', while its first single, 'Doo Wop (That Thing)' bagged two: 'Best R&B Song' and 'Best Female R&B Vocal Performance'.

Her global success... by the numbers

Aside from all those awards, that legendary album sold more than 8 million copies worldwide, raking in no less than $25 million.

Her rise to the top didn't pave the way for a long, successful career

However, the enormous success of her debut didn't translate into a lengthy career filled with hit records like other music stars. Instead, she took a distinctly different path.

Fame overwhelmed her and forever changed her life

Hill became a true celebrity worldwide, but she couldn't handle the fame she wasn't accustomed to. Money, parties, awards, criticism, rumors about her professional and private life... The pressure of success overwhelmed her, and her life was forever altered.

'MTV Unplugged No. 2.0', her second album

In her solo career, she would only release one more studio album, 'MTV Unplugged No. 2.0' (2002), a live album focused on her 2002 MTV Unplugged performance recorded on July 21, 2001, at MTV Studios in Times Square, New York. Many in the industry defined it as "self-sabotage."

She underwent a radical change in every way

With this album, she made a radical shift in everything, from her personal image to her music style, performing her songs with just her voice and an acoustic guitar and focusing more on the message within her song lyrics.

Highly critical of the music industry

These changes in her life became more radical, to the point of completely distancing herself from the industry, which she was quite critical of, especially regarding the representation of African American women within it.

The influence of Brother Anthony

At that time, many media outlets reported that Hill had also delved deeper into her religious beliefs, studying the Bible with Brother Anthony, an unorthodox and anti-Catholic spiritual guide who, to many, did nothing but "brainwash" her to "do what he wanted."

A hermit and critic of the Catholic Church

By 2002, Hill was staying home, not even watching TV, and began criticizing the church's silence on corruption and abuse scandals within the Catholic Church.

Seeking new artistic expressions

Since that time, Hill has moved away from music, her public appearances and media presence have been sparse, as she has dedicated her life to seeking new artistic expressions such as playwriting, writing poetic texts and scripts, or designing clothes, devoting more time to her family and herself.

Retirement as a protest against the industry

Many believe that her farewell to her musical career is a form of protest against the industry, as she herself commented in a 2015 interview with Rolling Stone magazine, pointing out that artists are often exploited and mistreated by record companies and other figures in the industry.

The fleeting return of The Fugees

In her subsequent career, one cannot forget her brief return with The Fugees. They performed in Brooklyn, New York, on September 18, 2004; appeared at the BET' 2005 Music Awards; released a new single, 'Take It Easy', which was distributed on the internet and with which they toured Europe at the end of 2005; and, in 2006, performed again in Hollywood and released two new singles: 'Foxy' and 'Wannabe'.

Sentenced to prison for tax evasion

But a low point came a few years after that nostalgic return, on May 6, 2013, when Hill was sentenced by a New Jersey Court to three months in jail, plus another three months of house arrest and one year of probation for tax evasion, in addition to a $60,000 fine.

She failed to declare $1.8 million

The singer admitted that she did not file tax returns for the years 2005, 2006, and 2007, a period during which she earned $1.8 million that she did not declare to the IRS.

For 'the health and wellness of her children'

TMZ reported that the singer claimed that she would have paid her taxes if it wouldn't have compromised the health and well-being of her children.

Pop culture's fault?

At that time, the singer also criticized the climate of hostility, manipulation, racial bias, se xism, or discrimination in pop culture that led her to distance herself from music and thus end her career.

Released a new track the day she got out of prison

The very day she was released from prison, Hill dropped a new song on her Twitter account called 'Consumerism', a track that focuses on issues like skepticism and narcissism.

A failed return to the music scene

After that episode, the singer attempted a sporadic return to the music scene by releasing some singles and trying her luck with tours that ended with cancelled concerts or delays that infuriated her fans.

Accusations of plagiarism and mistreatment of musicians

In 2018, she launched a 20th-anniversary tour for 'The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill', which brought her back into the limelight but was tarnished by plagiarism accusations by pianist, composer, and producer Robert Glasper, who also criticized her treatment of musicians she worked with.

"You got a big hand off of music you didn’t even write"

“You’ve already stolen all of my friends’ music. Miseducation was made by great musicians and producers that I know personally. You got a big hand off of music you didn’t even write,” he said on the Madd Hatta Morning Show. “She likes to take credit so she can become this super person. If you’re a super person, and you’re that talented, do it. You feel me? She couldn’t tune her guitar in rehearsal."

Legal battle over plagiarism with New Ark

Years earlier, the group New Ark also criticized her and ended up in court, reaching a settlement with her in 2001. They claimed they had been asked to be credited on 13 of the 14 album tracks, alleging she used their songs and production skills but did not credit their work.

Hill fights back

Lauryn Hill responded to Glasper through a 3,000 Medium post, stating that: “These are my songs, musicians are brought in because of the masterful way that they play their instruments. I’m definitely looking for something specific in musicians, and I absolutely do hire the best musicians I can find.... I am the architect of my creative expression. No decisions are made without me."

Tour for the 25th anniversary of her debut album

In 2023, Hill made headlines again, this time for her tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of the release of 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill', which kicked off on September 8, 2023, in Minneapolis, and then continued through other cities in the United States, Australia, and New Zealand, also throughout 2024.

An unexpected surprise: The Fugees reunion

The tour includes a very special reunion with The Fugees, featuring Pras Michel and Wyclef Jean joining her for a six-song set, including hits like 'Killing Me Softly', 'Ready Or Not', and 'Zealots'.

A life of success turned into chaos

A nostalgic look back at the brief story of Lauryn Hill's success, a woman who forever changed the world of hip-hop and R&B music, as well as undergoing a personal transformation from the moment she stepped away from music to start a tumultuous life full of controversies.

The underground metro system is the quickest and most efficient way to travel around Moscow. Most visitors rely exclusively on this super-efficient transportation system, which allows you to get to pretty much anywhere in the city! It’s also a great option if you’re planning a Moscow itinerary during the colder months, as you’ll be sheltered from the snow and freezing temperatures!

If you prefer above-ground transportation, buses, trams, and trolleybuses, run throughout the city and provide a rather comfortable alternative to the metro.

Moscow’s metro, buses, trams, and trolleybuses are all accessible with a ‘Troika’ card. This card can be topped up with any sum of money at a metro cash desk. The ticket is simple, convenient, and even refundable upon return to a cashier!

The square is the picture postcard of Russian tourism, so make sure to bring your camera when you visit! No matter the season, or the time of day, it’s delightfully photogenic!

Day 1 / Stop 2 – The Moscow Kremlin

The iconic Moscow Kremlin , also known as the Kremlin museum complex, sits on Borovitsky Hill, rising above the Moscow River. It is a fortified complex in the center of the city, overlooking several iconic buildings in the Red Square!

It’s the best known of the Russian Kremlins – citadels or fortress’ protecting and dominating a city. During the early decades of the Soviet era, the Kremlin was a private enclave where the state’s governing elite lived and worked.

The Kremlin is outlined by an irregularly shaped triangular wall that encloses an area of 68 acres! The existing walls and towers were built from 1485 to 1495. Inside the Kremlin museum complex, there are five palaces, four cathedrals, and the enclosing Kremlin Wall with Kremlin towers.

The Armoury Chamber is a part of the Grand Kremlin Palace’s complex and is one of the oldest museums of Moscow, established in 1851. It showcases Russian history and displays many cherished relics. Definitely make sure to check out this museum while you’re here!

The churches inside the Moscow Kremlin are the Cathedral of the Dormition, Church of the Archangel, Church of the Annunciation, and the bell tower of Ivan Veliki (a church tower).

The five-domed Cathedral of the Dormition is considered the most famous. It was built from 1475–1479 by an Italian architect and has served as a wedding and coronation place for great princes, tsars, and emperors of Russia. Church services are given in the Kremlin’s numerous cathedrals on a regular basis.

The Grand Kremlin Palace was the former Tsar’s Moscow residence and today it serves as the official workplace of the President of the Russian Federation (Vladimir Putin seems to have bagged that title for life) .

Insider Tip: The Kremlin is closed every Thursday! Make sure to plan this stop on your Moscow itinerary for any other day of the week!

Day 1 / Stop 3 – Lenin’s Mausoleum

• Why it’s awesome: The mausoleum displays the preserved body of Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin .

• Food nearby: Khinkal’naya is a charming Georgian restaurant with vaulted ceilings and exposed brick. It’s a popular place with locals and right next to the Red Square!

Lenin’s Mausoleum, also known as Lenin’s Tomb, is the modernist mausoleum for the revolutionary leader Vladimir Lenin. It’s located within the Red Square and serves as the resting place for the Soviet leader! His preserved body has been on public display since shortly after his death in 1924.

It’s located just a few steps away from the Kremlin Wall and is one of the most controversial yet popular Moscow attractions!

Admission is free for everyone, you’ll only need to pay if you need to check a bag. Before visitors are allowed to enter the mausoleum, they have to go through a metal detector first. No metal objects, liquids, or large bags are allowed in the mausoleum!

Expect a line to enter the building, and while you’re inside the building, you’ll be constantly moving in line with other visitors. This means you won’t be able to spend as long as you’d like viewing the mausoleum, but you’ll still be able to get a good look. Pictures and filming while inside the building are strictly prohibited, and security guards will stop you if they see you breaking this rule.

The mausoleum is only open on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday – unless it’s a public holiday or a day scheduled for maintenance. The hours it’s open for each day are limited, make sure to check online before you visit to make sure you can fit this into your Moscow itinerary for that day!

Insider Tip: The Lenin’s Museum is there for people to pay their respect; remember to keep silent and move along quickly, it’s not intended for people to congregate around. Also, men are not allowed to wear hats and everyone must take their hands out of their pockets when inside the building.

Day 1 / Stop 4 – St. Basil’s Cathedral

• Why it’s awesome: A dazzling designed cathedral that showcases Russia’s unique architecture. This cathedral is one of the most recognizable symbols of the country!

Located in the Red Square, the ornate 16th-century St. Basil’s Cathedral is probably the building you picture when you think of Moscow’s unique architecture. Its colorful onion-shaped domes tower over the Moscow skyline!

The cathedral was built from 1555-1561 by order of Tsar Ivan the Terrible. It was designed with an iconic onion dome facade and enchanting colors that captivate all who see it. Fun fact: If you’re wondering why Russian churches have onion domes, they are popularly believed to symbolize burning candles!

This iconic cathedral has become a symbol of Russia due to its distinguishing architecture and prominent position inside the Red Square. It’s one of the most beautiful, wonderful, and mesmerizing historical cathedrals in the world!

The interior of the church surprises most people when they visit. In contrast to the large exterior, the inside is not so much one large area, but rather a collection of smaller areas, with many corridors and small rooms. There are 9 small chapels and one mausoleum grouped around a central tower.

Visiting the inside is like walking through a maze, there are even small signs all around the cathedral tracing where to walk, and pointing you in the right direction! The walls are meticulously decorated and painted with intricate floral designs and religious themes.

The church rarely holds service and is instead a museum open for the public to visit.

Insider Tip: During the summer months the line to go inside the cathedral can get quite long! Make sure to arrive early or reserve your tickets online to guarantee quick access into the cathedral!

Day 1 / Stop 5 – GUM Department Store

• Why it’s awesome: This is Russia’s most famous shopping mall! It’s designed with elegant and opulent architecture and provides a real sense of nostalgia!
• Cost: Free to enter
• Food nearby: Stolovaya 57 is a cafeteria-style restaurant with a variety of inexpensive Russian cuisine menu items including soups, salads, meat dishes, and desserts. It’s also located inside the GUM department store, making it very easily accessible when you’re shopping!

The enormous GUM Department Store is located within the historic Red Square. It has a whimsical enchantment to it that sets it apart from your typical department store.

A massive domed glass ceiling lines the top of the building and fills the interior with natural sunlight. There are live plants and flowers placed throughout the mall that give the shopping complex a lively and cheerful feel! A playful fountain sits in the center, further adding to the malls inviting a sense of wonder and amusement!

The GUM department store opened on December 2, 1893. Today, it includes local and luxury stores, including Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Prada, and many more! There are numerous cafes, restaurants, and even a movie theater inside!

For a special treat, head into Gastronom 1. This 1950s-style shop sells gourmet food items, like wine, freshly-baked pastries, cheese, Russian chocolate, and of course, vodka! Also, be on the lookout for a bicycle pedaling ice cream truck with an employing selling ice cream!

The ambiance is simply amazing, a trip to this idyllic shopping mall is an absolute must on any Moscow itinerary!

Insider Tip: Make sure to carry some small change on you in case you need to use the restroom, you’ll need to pay 50 rubles – or about USD $0.80 to use the bathroom in GUM.

On your 2 day itinerary in Moscow, you’ll have a chance to use the city’s excellent public transportation service! You’ll explore a few more of Moscow’s historic highlight as well as some modern attractions. These sites are a little more spread out, but still very easily accessible thanks to the metro!

Day 2 / Stop 1 – Novodevichy Convent

• Why it’s awesome: The Novodevichy Convent is rich in imperial Russian history and contains some of Russia’s best examples of classical architecture!

The Novodevichy Convent is the best-known and most popular cloister of Moscow. The convent complex is contained within high walls, and there are many attractions this site is known for! 

The six-pillared five-domed Smolensk Cathedral is the main attraction. It was built to resemble the Kremlin’s Assumption Cathedral and its facade boasts beautiful snowy white walls and a pristine golden onion dome as its centerpiece. It’s the oldest structure in the convent, built from 1524 -1525, and is situated in the center of the complex between the two entrance gates.

There are other churches inside the convent as well, all dating back from many centuries past. The convent is filled with an abundance of 16th and 17th-century religious artworks, including numerous large and extravagant frescos!

Just outside the convent’s grounds lies the Novodevichy Cemetery. Here, you can visit the graves of famous Russians, including esteemed authors, composers, and politicians. Probably the most intriguing gravestone belongs to Russian politician Nikita Khruschev!

The Novodevichy Convent is located near the Moscow River and offers a peaceful retreat from the busy city. In 2004, it was proclaimed a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The convent remains remarkably well-preserved and is an outstanding example of Moscow Baroque architecture! 

Insider Tip: To enter the cathedrals inside the complex, women are advised to cover their heads and shoulders, while men should wear long pants.

Day 2 / Stop 2 – Gorky Central Park of Culture and Leisure

• Why it’s awesome: A large amusement area in the heart of the city offering many attractions!

• Food nearby: Check out Mepkato, located inside Gorky Central Park for a casual meal in a cozy setting. There are indoor and outdoor seating options and the restaurant is child-friendly!

Gorky Central Park of Culture and Leisure is a large green space in the heart of Moscow. The park opened in 1928, and it stretches along the scenic embankment of the Moskva River. It covers an area of 300-acres and offers a lovely contrast from the compact city center.

You’ll find all sorts of wonderful attractions, from boat rides to bike rentals to tennis courts and ping-pong tables, and much more! there are an open-air cinema and festive events and concerts scheduled in the summer months.  A wide selection of free fitness classes is also offered on a regular basis, including jogging, roller skating, and dancing!

Although many of the options you’ll find here are more suited for outdoor leisure during the summer, you’ll also a selection of winter attractions, including one of Europe’s largest ice rinks for ice-skating!

If you’re trying to decide what to do in Moscow with kids, the park also offers several venues designed specifically for kids. Check out the year-round Green School which offers hands-on classes in gardening and art! You can also feed the squirrels and birds at the Golitsinsky Ponds!

The park is very well maintained and kept clean and the entrance is free of charge, although most individual attractions cost money. There is also Wi-Fi available throughout the park.

With so many attractions, you could easily spend all day here! If you’re only planning a 2 day itinerary in Moscow, make sure to plan your time accordingly and map out all the areas you want to see beforehand!

Day 2 / Stop 3 – The State Tretyakov Gallery

• Why it’s awesome: The gallery’s collection consists entirely of Russian art made by Russian artists!
• Food nearby : Brothers Tretyakovs is located right across the street from the gallery. It’s a wonderfully atmospheric restaurant serving top quality food and drinks!

The State Tretyakov Gallery was founded in 1856 by influential merchant and collector Pavel Tretyakov.  The gallery is a national treasury of Russian fine art and one of the most important museums in Russia!

It houses the world’s best collection of Russian art and contains more than 130, 000 paintings, sculptures, and graphics! These works have been created throughout the centuries by generations of Russia’s most talented artists!

The exhibits range from mysterious 12th-century images to politically charged canvases. The collection is rich and revealing and offers great insight into the history and attitudes of this long-suffering yet inspired people!

All pictures are also labeled in English. If you plan to take your time and see everything inside the museum it will take a good 3-4 hours, so make sure to plan your Moscow trip itinerary accordingly! This gallery is a must-see stop for art lovers, or anyone wanting to explore the local culture and history of Russia in a creative and insightful manner!

Day 2 / Stop 4 – All-Russian Exhibition Center

• Why it’s awesome: This large exhibition center showcases the achievements of the Soviet Union in several different spheres. 
• Food nearby: Varenichnaya No. 1 serves authentic and homestyle Russian cuisine in an intimate and casual setting.

The All-Russian Exhibition Center is a massive park that presents the glory of the Soviet era! It pays homage to the achievements of Soviet Russia with its many different sites found on the property.

The center was officially opened in 1939 to exhibit the achievements of the Soviet Union. It’s a huge complex of buildings and the largest exhibition center in Moscow. There are several exhibition halls dedicated to different achievements and every year there are more than one hundred and fifty specialized exhibitions!

The Peoples Friendship Fountain was constructed in 1954 and is a highlight of the park. The stunning gold fountain features 16 gilded statues of girls, each representing the former Soviet Union republics. 

The Stone Flower Fountain was also built in 1954 and is worth checking out. The centerpiece of this large fountain is a flower carved from stones from the Ural Mountains! Along the side of the fountain are various bronze sculptures.

You will find many people zipping around on rollerblades and bicycles across the large area that the venue covers. It’s also home to amusement rides and carousels, making it the perfect place to stop with kids on your Moscow itinerary! Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and allow a few hours to explore all the areas that interest you!

Day 2 / Stop 5 – Bolshoi Theater

• Why it’s awesome: The Bolshoi Theater is a historic venue that hosts world-class ballet and opera performances!

The Bolshoi Theater is among the oldest and most renowned ballet and opera companies in the world! It also boasts the world’s biggest ballet company, with more than 200 dancers!

The theater has been rebuilt and renovated several times during its long history. In 2011 it finished its most recent renovation after an extensive six-year restoration that started in 2005. The renovation included an improvement in acoustics and the restoration of the original Imperial decor.

The Bolshoi Theater has put on many of the world’s most famous ballet acts! Tchaikovsky’s ballet Swan Lake premiered at the theater in 1877 and other notable performances of the Bolshoi repertoire include Tchaikovsky’s The Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker!

Today, when you visit the theater, you can expect a magical performance from skilled singers, dancers, and musicians with the highest level of technique!

If you don’t have time to see a show, the theater also provides guided tours on select days of the week. Tours are given in both Russian and English and will provide visitors with a more intimate look at the different areas of the theater!

The stage of this iconic Russian theater has seen many outstanding performances. If you’re a fan of the performing arts, the Bolshoi Theater is one of the greatest and oldest ballet and opera companies in the world, making it a must-see attraction on your Moscow itinerary!

The Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics is a museum dedicated to space exploration! The museum explores the history of flight, astronomy, space exploration, space technology, and space in the arts. It houses a large assortment of Soviet and Russian space-related exhibits, and the museum’s collection holds approximately 85,000 different items!

The museum does an excellent job of telling the full story of the exciting space race between the USSR and the US! It highlights the brightest moments in Russian history and humanity and is very interesting and fun for all ages!

If you’re a fan of space or just curious about gaining insight into Russia’s fascinating history of space exploration, make sure to add this to your 3 day itinerary in Moscow!

The Alexander Garden

• A tranquil place to relax near the Red Square
• Green lawns dotted with sculptures and lovely water features
• The park is open every day and has no entrance fee

The Alexander Garden was one of the first urban public parks in Moscow! The garden premiered in 1821 and was built to celebrate Russia’s victory over Napoleon’s forces in 1812!

The park is beautiful and well maintained with paths to walk on and benches to rest on. The park contains three separate gardens: the upper garden, middle garden, and lower garden.

Located in the upper garden, towards the main entrance to the park is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier with its eternal flame. This monument was created in 1967 and contains the body of a soldier who fell during the Great Patriotic War!

The park stretches along all the length of the western Kremlin wall for about half a mile. Due to its central location in the city, it’ll be easily accessible when you’re out exploring The Red Square.

It provides a bit of relief from the city’s high-energy city streets. Bring a picnic lunch, go for a walk, or just sit and people watch, this is one of the best Moscow sites to wind-down and relax!

Ostankino Television Tower

• Television and radio tower in Moscow
• Currently the tallest free-standing structure in Europe
• Make sure you bring your passport when you visit, you can’t go up without it!

For spectacular views of the city, make sure to add the Ostankino Television Tower to your itinerary for Moscow! This impressive free-standing structure provides stunning views of the city in every direction. The glass floor at the top also provides great alternative views of the city!

It takes just 58 seconds for visitors to reach the Tower’s observation deck by super fast elevator. The tower is open every day for long hours and is a great site in Moscow to check out! There is even a restaurant at the top where you can enjoy rotating views of the city while you dine on traditional Russian cuisine or European cuisine!

The tower is somewhat of an architectural surprise in a city that is not known for skyscrapers! To see the city from a new perspective, make sure to add this stop to your Moscow itinerary!

Izmaylovo District

• The most popular attractions in this district are the kremlin and the flea market
• Outside of the city center and easy to reach via metro
• Most popular during the summer and on weekends

Travel outside the city center and discover a unique area of the city! The Izmaylovo District is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike, and one of the coolest places to see in Moscow! The two main attractions we recommend checking out are the Kremlin and the flea market.

The Izmailovo Kremlin was established as a cultural center and molded after traditional Russian architecture. This colorful complex is home to several single-subject museums, including a Russian folk art museum and a vodka museum!

Next to the Kremlin is the Izmailovo open-air market, which dates back to the 17th century! The market is connected to the Izmailovo Kremlin by a wooden bridge. Pick up all your Russian souvenirs here, including traditional handicrafts, paintings, books, retro toys, and Soviet memorabilia!

You will find many hand-made and hand-painted options available at higher prices, as well as mass-produced souvenir options at lower prices!

Museum of Soviet Arcade Games

• Closed on Mondays
• Filled with old arcade games that visitors get to try out!
• The museum also includes a small cafe and burger shop

For something a little different, check out the Museum of Soviet Arcade Games! The museum features roughly 60 machines from the Soviet era, including video games, pinball machines, and collaborative hockey foosball! The machines inside the museum were produced in the USSR in the mid-1970s.

The best part is, most of the games are still playable! Purchase tickets and try the games out for yourself! The museum also has a neat little screening room that plays old Soviet cartoons and an area with Soviet magazines! This unique attraction is a fun addition to a 3 day itinerary in Moscow, and an attraction that all ages will enjoy! 

Whether you’re spending one day in Moscow, or more, safety is an important thing to keep in mind when traveling to a big city! Overall, Moscow is a very safe place to visit. However, it is always recommended that tourists take certain precautions when traveling to a new destination!

The police in Moscow is extremely effective at making the city a safe place to visit and do their best to patrol all of the top Moscow, Russia tourist attractions. However, tourists can still be a target for pickpockets and scammers.

Moscow has a huge flow of tourists, therefore there is a risk for pickpocketing. Simple precautions will help eliminate your chances of being robbed. Stay vigilant, keep your items close to you at all times, and don’t flash your valuables!

If you’re planning a solo Moscow itinerary, you should have no need to worry, as the city is also considered safe for solo travelers, even women. Stay in the populated areas, try and not travel alone late at night, and never accept rides from strangers or taxis without a meter and correct signage.

The threat of natural disasters in Moscow is low, with the exception of severe winters when the temperature can dip below freezing! Bring a good, warm jacket if you visit in Winter.

However, please note that Russian views on homsexuality are far less accepting than those in Western Europe. Likewise, Non-Caucasian travellers may sadly encounter racism in Russia .
