The small group sizes mean more personalized attention. It’s almost like a friend is taking you around their winery, teaching you everything they know.
The three wineries may not be the same each tour, but the experts do well to mix more “classic/traditional” wineries along with more modern ones. This is a great way to see which practices each one uses, and which you like the result of better.

What we really loved about this tour was the way they incorporated the regions very old history, medieval villages, squares, and castles into the winery and vineyard tours.
They do relate to one-another and still have quite a relevant influence. Meet up in Madrid with the rest of your group and tour guide/driver and head towards Ribera del Duero at 9:15 am.
One thing you’re sure to notice before you arrive is the gorgeous Duero river, beautifully-colored landscapes, and ancient pieces of architecture.

7 Spectacular Madrid Wineries Worth a Visit
Why just drink D.O. Vinos de Madrid at a bar when you can taste it straight from the source?
That’s right—one of the most unique wines you can order in the Spanish capital is produced right here in the region of Madrid! We can’t imagine a better day trip than a visit to a local winery, many of which are less than an hour outside the city. Be sure to check out these incredible Madrid wineries for an ideal escape perfect for vino aficionados and newbies alike.
What's Included
Las Moradas de San Martín
Nestled on the edge of the region of Madrid close to Toledo and Ávila provinces, Las Moradas de San Martín is among the most idyllic Madrid wineries. Its unique geography and climate make it ideal for producing some of the most intense, velvety D.O. Vinos de Madrid wines. Although the winery itself was established less than 20 years ago, winemakers in this region have been practicing their craft for centuries. In fact, some of the most legendary writers of the Spanish Golden Age alluded to these wines in their works.
Address : Pago Castillejos, Carretera M541, km 4.5, San Martín de Valdeiglesias
Bodega Saavedra
The sprawling vineyards of Bodega Saavedra are filled with vines ranging from 70 to 100 years old. The unique landscape makes it difficult for mechanical harvesting, so they still use the same traditional manual harvesting techniques as they did when the winery opened four generations ago. Still family-run and going stronger than ever, this lovely corner of paradise is one of our favorite Madrid wineries for their stunning location, even better wines, and outstanding service.
Address : Travesía de la Carretera de Escalona, 5, Cenicientos
Bernabeleva
The descendants of Bernabeleva ‘s original owner still faithfully take care of the vines he planted nearly a century ago. As a result, the beautiful vineyards produce some of the most delicious red and white D.O. Vinos de Madrid wines. As if the wine itself didn’t make this one of our favorite Madrid wineries, the area is also steeped in fascinating history dating back to both the ancient Celts as well as the Romans.
Address : Carretera Ávila-Toledo (N-403) km 81.6, San Martín de Valdeiglesias
Bodegas Marañones
The team at Bodegas Marañones prides themselves on their dedication to producing elegant wines while maintaining a commitment to the environment. The rich soil in their picturesque vineyards is ideal for growing carefully tended grapes, mostly of the garnacha and albillo varieties. Each of their six wines is completely organic, going as far as to use indigenous yeast during the fermentation process.
Address : Avenida de Marcial Llorente, 69, Pelayos de la Presa
ValleYglesias
As one of the most modern Madrid wineries, ValleYglesias may seem like a far cry from the traditional bodegas that have been around for decades. However, although ValleYglesias itself was only established in 2001, this family team here maintains a steadfast commitment to their grandfather’s traditional winemaking philosophy from the early twentieth century. Their mission is to bring prestige back to the area of San Martín de Valdeiglesias, and they do it through the combination of their winery and their own restaurant.
Address : Calle de la Corredera Alta, 28, San Martín de Valdeiglesias
Bodegas Andrés Díaz
Located in the foodie paradise of Navalcarnero (direct buses run every 30 minutes from Madrid’s Príncipe Pío station ), Bodegas Andrés Díaz is a delightful family-run winery dedicated to producing some of the best D.O. Vinos de Madrid reds. Now run by the great-granddaughter of the original owner, it’s one of our favorite Madrid wineries due to its perfect balance of tradition and modernity.
Address : Calle Palencia, 32, Navalcarnero
Bodegas Real Cortijo de Carlos III
Real Cortijo de Carlos III is easily one of the most royal Madrid wineries! This historic vineyard dates back to the late 18th century, when the king ordered its construction as a wine producer for Spain’s royal family. Today, you don’t have to be in line to the throne to enjoy their delicious wines—or to visit the winery itself. The site consists of lush gardens, a small yet fascinating museum and centuries-old cellars that are still in use today.
Address : Calle de Leon Ruiz Ruiz, 0, Cortijo de San Isidro
I’m traveling to Madrid next week and want to visit 2-3 of these amazing wine vineyards you recommended here. I’m trying to plan a day trip but don’t want to rent a car to avoid drinking and driving. I can’t seem to find a tour company that offers these wine locations. I’m particularly interested in visiting #5 on your list above, ValleYglesias. Do you have suggestions on how I get there? I looked into Uber and it said about $200 euro each way. That’s way too expensive. Is there a tour I can join?
How about public transportation? Looks like there is a bus from Principe Pio in Madrid to the town where ValleYglesias is, San Martin De Valdeiglesias. You can see the schedule for the outbound bus here . It takes an hour and 15 minutes and runs once an hour on the weekend, more on weekdays. According to the winery’s website , they meet at Bar Restaurante Valleyglesias to start the tour, which is in the center of town and shouldn’t be far from the bus stop. As far as organized tours go, there may be one that you could join from Madrid, but we’re not familiar with any, so we’d recommend getting in touch with the winery!
Does you know how English friendly these wineries are?
Hi Amy! Only Bernabeleva specifically mention English tours on their website, but the others may offer them as well! We’d recommend sending an email to ask!
Hi there! My partner and I are visiting Madrid 14th June leaving 17th AM. We’d love to visit a vineyard/ winery near Madrid or even a few on the Saturday 15th as a birthday treat! Please could you advise the best place/places?
Many thanks!
Hey Laura! Those included in this post are our favorites. If you’d like to visit more than one, there are several around San Martín de Valdeiglesias (numbers 1, 3 and 5 on this list). You can take a bus out there and then arrange for taxi transportation between them. Just make sure to reserve ahead of time with the wineries! Enjoy!
Hi! Do you know / how can we find out if they are open during the week of New Year, before or after 1st Jan? Particularly interested in the one with the bus option
Hi Marissa—try contacting them via email, phone or their website: http://www.bodegasennavalcarnero.es/contactar-bodegas-vinos-navalcarnero-madrid.html#.XfcuONZKgxc Have a lovely trip!

The city of three cultures is well-known for its Christian, Arabic, and Jewish monuments, like the incredible Alcazar of Toledo . However, tourists combine culture and food to get the best of both worlds when visiting this historic city.
Why is this a tour you should join? It’s the perfect mix of culture and gastronomy. Toledo’s ability to incorporate three religions is quite remarkable, and UNESCO recognized the city as a World Heritage Site in 1986.

And after all the cultural enrichment, it’s finally wine o’clock! On your return trip to Madrid, you’ll stop in Bargas. Here you’ll find Finca Loranque , a winery built in a French style. The aim? Producing high-quality wines, of course!
What makes the wine from this particular farm so special? The farm has been operating since 1865 when the Counts of Floridablanca acquired the land. The meticulously planned architecture of Finca Loranque adds to the quality of the Grenache grapes produced here.
The building’s height and position contribute to excellent ventilation circumstances. Combined with one-meter-thick walls and the temperature of the grapes can be controlled to some extent. Controlled temperature produces fantastic grapes, which in turn, make excellent wine. Wine connoisseurs, this is one of the best private tours on the list.

Pedro did a great job in demystifying the Spanish ham infatuation. And the special stew from Madrid was outstanding, highly recommend this tour.
We had such a great time. We were the only two who booked this tour but they didn’t cancel it – we got a private tour! What a great bonus! We learned about the quality standards for iberico pigs, tasted great food, visited some amazing restaurants and got a great dose of Spanish history. We were honored our guide (Pedro?) let us have this experience and we got such a great insight to a good that is so important to Spain. Highly recommend!
We had an amazing night with Andres. The food was great, the wines were super, and most importantly we enjoyed the company. Andres knows a lot about wine and he made us try dishes and different types of wine that we wouldn't have known about on our own and he went out of his way to accommodate our requests. This tour should be the number 1 thing on your to do list in Madrid.
Throughly enjoyed the company of the tour guides. They made it personal. Their knowledge and insight was great. The bars etc selected opened a whole new world. Thanks for the adventure.
The tour itself was very good especially the young lady who did the tour but Viator's tour description was deceiving .It said there was a restaurant visit on top of a building with a cocktail , that didn't happen.I had the same experience with my Dubai trip .What you guys say and what we get , most of the time, isn't the same thing .That should be fixed.
It was a fun evening with Laura and all 10 of us friends. Laura was an excellent guide who shared a lot about Spain, food and herself. It was a great local interaction! Thank you for a great tour!
My boyfriend and I had a great time on this food tour where we got to not only eat delicious food but learn the layout and a little history of the city. I always recommend that folks do this at the beginning of their visit bc it’s an ideal way to get your bearings.
We scheduled a 2 and 1/2 hour tapas tour with Andreas. It was outstanding!! We had graet food and wine at three locations. Andres's knowledge and presentation made the evening fly. We actually ended up with a four hour event. We enjoyed the third location so much we took other people there 3 days later.Clearly we would recommend this to any visitor to Madrid.

Tour Overview
Spend the day exploring the upcoming Madrid wine region, visiting three wineries from the Designation of Origin “Vinos de Madrid”. The DO Vinos de Madrid has been making great wines for more than 30 years and nowadays these wines are proudly competing with Rioja or Ribera del Duero to be among the most reputed wines from Spain. Your expert guide for the day is Enrique, a passionate winemaker and professional wine tourism guide with a WSET level 3 wine expert certification. He will be able to answer any questions you have about wine.
40 minutes away from Madrid’s city centre the countryside is dotted with olive groves and vineyards interspersed with cereal fields and medieval towns that treasure a great historical heritage. You will visit three wineries and learn about Madrid wines from the hand of their oenologists and winemakers. Taste at least 9 of their wines including reds, whites and rosés and learn about the winemaking techniques that fuse tradition and innovation.
At the first winery, the owner will explain about growing organic grapes in Spain and share the secret behind viticulture in one of the driest landscapes of Europe without using any irrigation systems. You will taste his beautiful blends out of Airen, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Wines will be paired with fresh appetizers and local cheese served on a terrace with countryside views.
At the second stop you will discover why wineries in Spain used to be in the centre of the villages instead of out in the countryside. This winery has been producing wines for more than 150 years and features a huge cave 35 feet underground that houses over 100 clay jars with 3500 litres capacity each.
At the third winery you will witness how some Spanish winemakers are still producing their artisan wines in ancestral clay pots. Five generations from the same family produce well balanced wines with Malvar and Tempranillo in a centennial facility including a wine cellar originally excavated by monks back in the XVI century. This last winery produces a unique Madrid quality sparkling wine which you will have the opportunity to taste.
Time for lunch! You will have the chance to eat at one of the most reputed restaurants from the region. Frequented by the Spanish royal family and many other celebrities, this restaurant is located in the medieval village of Chinchón. Enjoy from the a la carte or set menu pairing their traditional dishes with local wines.
After lunch there will be time to walk around and discover some of the most hidden and beautiful corners of this quaint village before returning to the city.

A bit of history on Madrid wines
As the capital of the kingdom, Madrid has been linked to the Spanish wine culture for centuries. It is true, though, that just as it was happening in other European courts, the wine was more at hand on the dining tables of the Spanish court than in the countryside. Kings, nobility, and all the commerce that cities generated had its impact on wine consumption. We could imagine Madrid as a town full of taverns, bars, and inns , where wine (usually of dubious quality) was served uninterruptedly in a hearty manner.
Any of Arturo Pérez-Reverte books , where he brings to life the streets and activity of Madrid during the time of the Illustration in the XVIII century, can be an excellent way to take a closer look at a wine consuming city. Large quantities of wine.

Madrid Wine Tours
If what you are looking for during your stay in Madrid is a wine tour , look no further. Since we offer wine tours designed for you to enjoy in each winery we visit, with the best combination of the following factors: extraordinary wines, an attractive speech, and beautiful facilities. All these done with an expert guide. We complement this activity with the best of our cuisine, our landscapes, our medieval towns that are closed to the wineries that we take you.
Our goal is that you fall in love with our wine tours from Madrid if you are a true wine lover. You may also consider that the best way to enjoy a country like Spain that makes such extraordinary wines, is to do it with a glass of wine in your hand.
We call our activity Madrid Wine Tours or Madrid Wine Experience depending on your profile. One thing is sure. We will do everything we can to make you have an unforgettable experience.
We have been doing this activity since 2012. We have had the immense luck of doing what we love. And what we adore is getting to know and making our country known through its wineries and wines.
Our motto is that everything is more beautiful with a glass of wine in hand. We started with Spaniards who enjoyed our activity, until we discovered through foreigners that we have an extraordinary country. Word of mouth allowed us to begin to be known by foreigners who visit us.
And these foreigners who visit us show us that we have, not only wines, but gastronomy, history, our festivals, extraordinary people, monuments, landscapes, monuments, medieval cities.
We organize tours for winelovers and also for people who just think that everything is better with a glass of wine in hand.
We have these tours: Ribera del Duero Tour , Avila wine tour , Wineries near Madrid half-day tour , Madrid Castle Wine Tour in which we visit at least two enormously attractive wineries. In these tours we visit 2 wineries or maybe 3. We are not obsessed with the number but the quality of the visits in which our sole objective is the full satisfaction of our visitors.
We have also: Segovia Wine Tour , Wine Tasting Toledo Tour and Windmills of La Mancha Tour . In those tours we will visit a winery and try to visit those cities or those wind mills keeping in mind that wine is the protagonist and driver of the experience.
We like our tours very much. We were lucky from the start to do something that we adored and that our visitors also adored. Our tours are now even better because the priority in the organization and execution of them is the full satisfaction of our visitors. We learn on each tour what it is that we like the most to do it better and what it is that we like less to make the appropriate modifications.
But the important thing is not what we think about whether they like tours or not. Listen and read to those who have already come and give their opinions. We will wait for you here.
How all this project began: Collaborating is the true magic potion. Coworking
