5 Essential Tips for Parents: Preparing for a Market Day in Queenstown

Markets are kind of magical, aren’t they? A treasure trove of sights, sounds, and smells that can turn any regular day into a marvellous memory, especially with kids! Before you set off to the vibrant Queenstown markets with your little explorers, here are five handy tips to ensure your family-friendly market day is an absolute breeze:

1. Dress Comfortably and Ready for the Weather

Queenstown is beautiful year-round, but we do have our bouts of sunshine and rain. Remember to dress the family in comfortable, breathable clothing and walking shoes. A brimmed hat or a sunshade for the wee ones could be a lifesaver on sunnier days, while a light, foldable umbrella could save the day when those unexpected drizzles come around.

2. Plan Your Visit and Check Market Schedules

Markets may have differing operational days and hours, so it’s worthwhile to check the schedules ahead of time. This way, you can plan your route and make sure you hit up the spots when they’re buzzing. Early mornings are fantastic for fresher picks, while evenings often come with a cooler breeze and sometimes, special night market events!

3. Pack Light but Essential

When out and about with tots in tow, packing light can be a challenge, but it’s key to a stress-free expedition. A small backpack with essentials like water bottles, a snack or two, wet wipes, and any needed diapers or change of clothes for the littlest ones should suffice. Oh, and plenty of cash – not all stallholders may accept digital payments!

4. Involve the Children in the Experience

Markets are full of learning opportunities. Chat with the vendors, ask about their produce or crafts, and let the kids do the talking when they can. Give them a chance to pick a fruit or a toy, or better yet, allocate a small budget for them to manage – it’s never too early for a little lesson in money matters.

5. Food, Glorious Food!

Food is everywhere, and it’s a big part of the market magic in Queenstown. Prep those tummies because there will be lots to try! To keep things balanced, mix up treats with healthier options like fresh fruit. Always have water on hand to stay hydrated, and take breaks as needed to prevent little legs from tiring.

With these tips in mind, we assure you’re on track for a delightful day at the markets. Queenstown’s marketplace is an exciting canvas, waiting for you and your family to paint incredible memories together. Every corner has a new surprise, and what better way to uncover them than with the ones you love most by your side!

Wrap up your visit with a stroll around the nearby parks where the kids can frolic, or screenshot this guide so it’s handy whenever you need it. Most importantly, remember to have fun, go with the flow, and cherish each moment at the lively Queenstown markets. After all, it’s these little family adventures that often make for the best stories back home!

Tbr® inspection report:, west coast park reviews.

t has been ages since I went to West Coast Park so I decided to drop by for some "mind relaxing" moments. After eating at the mcdonald, we had a short walk in the park. The sand playground is a bonus as its very rare to see sand playground nowadays. And it also had a swing.I remember when I was a kid, I like to sit on the swing and its also rare to see swings(the olden-type of swings)nowadays.Had some fun and then we sat on a bench and enjoyed some peaceful moments.Manage to take some photos in the dark.
It's a very big and beautiful park, with a smell of freshness all around. I enjoyed every minute walking around and seeing all the beautiful wild life and plants. It has everything you need from a park: bicycle station, toilets, fountains and a small lake in the middle where you can relax and admire it from the benches. There are plenty people jogging and riding bikes all around and I will, for sure, visit it again next time.
Very peaceful place... mind relaxing...less crowded, big garden area, walkway in between nature.. must visit this place.

Nice park to explore with the kids! Went for my son’s school field trip. We took bus around 30 mins from Punggol. It’s very green with a lot of plants and the kids can play at their nature playgarden, but it can be quite hot when the sun come out. There are toilet and rest area, they also have vending machines for snacks and drinks.
Hot park is a beautiful place to relax and calm your heart and soul. Besides the beautiful landscape and natural fresh air, you may also spot beautiful gorgeous little flowers around the park. Enjoy the beauti creation!

This one north park is an hidden gem in one north. A very good “get away” from city life. Always love to walk through this park after having a meal at one north. You can get to Buona Vista and one north through this park. The Nanyang Technological University alumni club is at the peak of this park as well.
This hillside oasis is just what a city corner needs! Fresh air, tall trees, sun and shade, park benches and paths! Great spot to enjoy nature. Green lawns and wide paths along elevation changes so if you need some exercise this is the place. If not, just chillax on one of the long benches. Great spot to bring your lunch and enjoy some peace. Very close to Buona Vista MRT.
Quiet n peaceful neighborhood park for a great workout n dose of greenery. Beautiful Indian banyan trees.
